always delivered. what do you think, eric? religion making a comeback? >> i hope so. i wear my religion on my sleeve. you know that. it is great to see russell crowe, one of the top actors, making a movie like that. looks fantastic. the bible was on fire. bill o'reilly is killing jesus. i'm thrilled about it. thank you for that. >> but not doing it for perhaps the right reason but for the financial reasons because there is the need or the desire to have more faith and spirituality in their life. >> it goes beyond movies and books. look at the number of evangelical churches, the number of mega-churches that are growing. despite of the east coast, but most of the rest of the country, church attendance is up. and this is a time when people is -- there is no order in the world. there just seems to be -- where things were much more

predictable. things come at you so fast and things are out of control and i don't want to get into politics and i think this is a grounding for people and it is important. >> it is an encouraging sign for humanity and in this country where we see gravitation toward spirit and faith. dana, how do you account for it? >> i agree is is growing. i think many religiouses are growing. buddhism and islam is growing. and there are consequences for extremism and we see that in certain places and then you have a fight of good versus evil. and there are peaceful muslims and we continue to encourage them to speak out so we can live peaceably together. and if you look at charles krauthammer and we've talked about things that matter, he talks about the big questions about why are we here, what are we doing, what is next?

is this life the only thing we have, all of the big questions are still the things that matter to people. the root cause. we have fun talking about hollywood and politics, but who you are in your core is the biggest and most important question that all of us ask, sometime in our life. >> andrea, this is a good sign for our country. >> i think people are so hungry for something more edifying and more hopeful. so 24 hour news is more negative than positive. we do positive shows. but there is so much other stuff out there, so much smut and crass material, when people see the biblical stories that are truly amazing, it makes them feel good and they are hungry for it, and they are not getting it in schools or elementary school up in high school and the universities so they are searching for something bigger. in "the new york times" articles

i talk about what is lacking in society, and those are values. when people see it in front of it, they are encouraged. and they're going to do a sequel of the bible, and that is coming out in 2015. and i do find it interesting that in this country we have to go to australia to find manly men like russell crowe. who are we going to cast now? jonah hill? the real men are not here. >> and you point out there is smut and what not and there is another other. it is the ageist -- atheist. they are cracking down on religion and when you see a movie like this it says we can fight back. we can talk about it and practice it and entertain with it. i think it is good that they are putting up the money -- the

budget they have to outlay in advance. >> $125 million. you don't see that. you see $200 million movies like fast and furious where people are blowing up and dying. >> and charles krauthammer said the baby generation are being replaced by the millennials and they are beginning to realize there is an end. you never thought there was an end. and people stop and think is there someplace i'm going after this. i call it a big black wall. i'm a person of great faith and my friends come up and hear me talking about my faith, they say do you really believe all of that stuff in the bible. i said, yeah, i do. if i'm wrong, i'm going to be a speck of dust, if i'm right, it will be a marvelous after-life.

but i think this is being driven by the demographics in the country. >> what is the big black wall? >> that is the end brother, either cremation or in the ground. >> it is salvation, a big light. >> if you are faith, you look at it as a white passage. but if you are not, you see a big black wall just ending right there. >> i think there are a couple of other reasons, if church attendance is -- i won't be surprised if you see that on the rise in certain places, especially because one of the things that churches provide for you is fellowship. a chance to be with other people and a chance for sharing, where we are on our electronics all of the time and you can live solitary lives and social media is a wonderful tool and not the same as interaction and i think the relationships you can build there and giving back and what

makes you back is giving. it is one of the reason we like the christmas season so much. and the last thick i -- thing i would say, for me this year, to witness the people that volunteer on the mercy ships, these are true missionaries. and one of the things i've asked a nurse there, she volunteered for many years and she met her husband on the ship and they are on the ship. when people say, gosh, i would love to go and do something like what you are doing but -- when you are recruiting them, how do you erase the wort "butt". she said she's never had the doubt. every time it looks like they are running low on money or can't pay ships fees and something happens and god always provides for them. it was amazing to see how they treat one another and others. >> there is a term for that, an

untime god. you don't see it coming but he's always on time. >> i not only go to church every week, but i go to three aa meetings every week where it is spiritual and you do interaction. we don't allow twitter in aa meetings where you get thrown out. but i think there is that human bonding that takes place when you have people together seeking a goal sand in aa it is to stay sober. in church it is to get a stronger relationship with god. the stronger your relationship, the stronger you will become. >> you can overcome serious obstacles in your life. >> i just have a quick story. you said on-time god. i was down to $950 and i was three years sober, living on a farm, getting divorced and had no money and living at this place a mile back in the dirt road and there was only junk

mail in the mail and after i prayed to god, i said, i don't really believe yet, but if you could help me out, i could use in -- some doe. and this guy that owed me $25,000 sent me a check. >> and there is a lesson where he brings you down to your lowest point and then always delivered. when we get into religious debates and there is an excellent book about this. liar, lord and there is another, why would he lie. if you look and read the stories in the bible, why would anybody do what he did for a lie. and dana, to your point about a community, that was the foundation of the churches in this country. and we have gotten awayit. like diners in this country, people came together in this community. >> they are mostly greeks. >> in the diner is where people

would get their news and people have gotten away of that sense of church and community and they are hungry for that back and they are not getting it in every day life in social life and in starbucks, they are just wrapped up in themselves. >> there is one force brand new that is helping what you are talking about out right now. pope francis, he is a uniting force. whether you believe in some of the things he says, he is really getting a lot of people who weren't particularly attached to the church, coming back to the kitchen. >> reengaged and in america as well, they've seen the numbers go up. dana, you referenced attendance in the church. i would like to see more of this in our country. it would unite it. >> and in my faith, christianity, which we all share here, and if it is not real and jesus christ did not die for our

lives on that cross, it is the big con job that you can keep this going that people by the billions -- if it was a con job, it was the greatest one pulled off. >> and can i say we all have political beliefs, but we can come together on this and differ over obamacare and little policies here and there, but isn't the real fight that we can all come together on for the morale fiber. shouldn't we be reaching higher to save that real fight for this country. i think when the values go, we're gone. >> dana? >> i was just thinking about this show and there is a lot of fellowship here. >> there is. >> and it is really solving the world's problems right here. >> well just tune in her. >> next up -- miley cyrus. >> no wrecking balls. coming up, we'll honor the brave

we have breaking news for you on duck dynasty in a moment. but first this is the time of the year where we reflect on what is important in our lives and we should be grateful for the brave men and women in the military. there are more than 1.4 million active duty personnel, 164,000 are deployed around the world and more than 150 countries. there is a movie to check out to get a better understanding of the sacrifice our military makes. it is called lone survivor and

asked why isn't this movie getting more accolades and attention. we had it with "zero dark thirt thirty", the director didn't get the recognition she should of. why is this? >> i don't know. there is no greater sacrifice than to give your life for this country and what the navy s.e.a.l.s and the military do every day in and out and the sacrifices their family pay as well is an important message. the film is very well-done, accurate and well producered and great director and cast. mark wahlberg, ben foster, ameal herschel. i recommend it for everybody. >> why do you think, bob, it didn't get as much buzz as it should have. >> well let me be -- and i'm not going to dump on the fire here. but frankly we've been at war for over a decade and i think people are tired of it.

and i'm not so sure people want to focus in on this very much. you could argue about what you thought about -- not the afghanistan war but the iraqi war and i have difference of opinion than dana and others, but they've seen enough americans go over and die and they wonder what the causes are and if they are worthwhile and i think frank think there is fatigue. >> eric, will you see the movie? >> i'm dying to see it. in fact 60 minutes did a piece on it three weeks ago and then they went and followed it. it was a great piece. >> interview with marcus littrell. >> the actual hero. a fantastic piece. and then backed it up with two -- bad pieces of nsa. and i disagree, i good war film, no matter what is going on, is great to see and this one will be inspirational. >> i hope so. >> can't we use a little --

>> this is a movie about a hero, not obama. what was the movie -- "zero dark thirty," you couldn't get more coverage. but that hero was not a soldier, that hero was president obama. >> and it was edited. >> and i disagree there is not interest and i understand it, and i'm not a big video gamer, but they are all related, people want to know what it is like to be a soldier and it is good for recruitment. we talked in our a-block of asking the questions who are we, what are our values, how can i be a hero like that guy, like marcus littrell. but i don't think there is a lack of interest when it comes to war movies because i do think they are popular but i think this one didn't get attention because it didn't have to do with the white house. >> and they were referring to hollywood. you saw the hurt locker received

a lot of awards. but a lot of times it is touch and go with the hollywood community. >> it seems to go back and forth quickly. and about the video games, i don't know that a kid in america is going to blow things up or if that is an inspiration. >> if you look at the halloween costumes, what is the most halloween costume ever year, it is increasing, navy s.e.a.l.s. and recruitment is very popular for our troops. >> not miley cyrus. >> i took to twitter and asked our five fans of what is facing our military. some of the answers were benefits being cut in washington, d.c. lack of a real commission. lack of support from a commander-in-chief. what do you think? >> i think i'll go with what the military tells me day in and day out, what marcus littrell told me. the hindrance that costs lives

on a daily basis, we are micromanaging them and trying to send them out on sensitivity missions and that is not what they are for. >> bob? >> it was us and the kmubists -- communists before, and now the missions are complex and the wars are all over the place and it is not clearly a defined enemy. >> very quickly, i think it is disgusting that we cut -- we look for places to cut and absent mindedly cut and forgot to make a difference for the military. >> and perhaps the marketing and the p.r. campaign wasn't as good as other movies. that is possibly a logical conclusion. >> well mark wahlberg is awesome. i would watch him on mute. directly ahead, a major development in the duck dynasty

controversy. a&e has released a statement about the fute oar of the -- the future of the

this is a fox news alert. nine days after a&e suspected phil robertson for the network didn't like, they have now caved and they will resume the series with phil this spring. i am reading a statement just released. so after discussions with the robertson family and consulting with numerous advocacy groups, they have decided to continue the filming of duck dynasty this spring. so kimberly, free market at work? capitalism? >> yes. you have said, this is free market at work and people expressing their beliefs and they didn't back down and i

think we said this would happen and a&e jumped the gun on this . but that is what great about this country. people have different view points and opinion and this is a family of faith and they stuck by their faith. >> bobbie, the line that sticks out to me, says after consulting with numerous advocacy groups, what do you think that means? >> a couple -- first of all, a couple of the gay advocacy groups right after this, didn't show as much emotion as people had expected. that is one. but this is two, frankly, not a good public relations spin on their part. they said after consulting with them and phil didn't want to promote hate, but the fank is they got inundated with people wanting to put this back on. their core value is profits. >> you mean a&e. >> yes. don't try to hind yourself behind values, a&e.

>> and they pray after -- at the end of every show. and that had a lot to do with it. >> they write in their statement that is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview but that can't be true because in a long interview with a major monthly magazine, they would have presumably know about it before they let it get out of control and it is not a shock that they will continue filming. i think that is good. and the other thing they say is they'll use this moment to launch a public service campaign to promote nudity and tolerance among all people, including people of faith like the robertsons, i guess. >> blah, blah, blah. it says our core values are around creativity, solution and mutual effect. is that why a&e tried to get them to stop praying in their show. it is about profit, profit.

and it is not about money. the fact that a&e tried to silence them before this scandal shows they have different political beliefs. it is bigger than money. they don't want them praying or talking about jesus. they don't get that talking about jesus is profitable and what made them profitable. >> let's look at the family praying at the end of the show. take a look. >> all right, you all bow. father, thank you for another good day on planet earth and the fish you provided for us. thank you for your love, your mercy, it is through him i pray, a men. >> bringing it around to your point very quickly right there. >> this is why the statement is a bunch of nonsense. we've seen and read the zwroir s zwroirs -- read the stories about this to try to tweak the duck dynasty to get them to confirm to their religious or political beliefs and the duck dynasty wouldn't do it and so when they talk about mutual respect, they haven't been respectful of their views to begin with. >> i love it that the great

attention millennials. every year i write a column for fox news for my advice for young people in the work force and here are a few tips to improve your chances for good performance revuz and promotions and hopefully big raises so we

can get more advice from eric on that. the first one is, more thinking and less feeling in e-mails. and we'll have a discussion about these. but i'll read them quickly. in a new e-mail thread provide a new subject line, especially for your boss. don't irritate potential mentors. try to get on their radar screen but don't irritate them because it makes it worse. start a weekend reading folder and we can explain that. and my favorite tip of the year is to do your own network audit. one of the things that mentoring research shows is that your network and who you know over the years is your most important asset and a lot of people forget they know people that might be able to help them climb the ladder. >> it is the best thing, the best thing you can do to -- specially when you are starting, you just meet to people and hand out cards or resumes and you don't know how it will work out. after my first real job, i was

working downtown, i started handing out resumes, no one called me, i was literally working at a gas station and i had gotten a phone call from a guy that had gotten my resume from another guy and said do you want to come to boston and work for us. don't lose your contacts. keep your contacts hot. >> >> that is good. keep your contacts hot. and kimberly said if there is a new e-mail thread, as a younger person you shouldn't use an old text to respond on a new subject. >> i love a fresh clean up, title it and put it out, boom. i'm not saying write one or two word e-mails but i have a appropriate subject line and refresh it. but after five deep, what is this about. and people thinks it is an old

e-mail and they delete you and then you will cry. bob, you disagreed with one of them on the irritating? >> well you don't irritating them, but you have to keep the pressure up to get in front of them. but i was thinking about what eric said, when i kept track and doing campaigns and not many of them. i had one candidate who was assistant secretary of state and i was down fishing in north carolina and wondering what i will do with my life and i got a call saying how would you like to be a deputy assistant director and i said of what state? of the united states. and i kept up in touch with the guy, and boom. >> i became the youngest deputy director of the united states. >> if a young person that works on capitol hill that might call

you and say if i have five minutes of your time, how do you get a career like yours. so give up the idea there is any certain one path to follow to end up where you want to be. >> and it wasn't always doors hoping all of the time. there were doors that were closed that i did have to kick down a few times. we've also talked about this. if somebody gives you the time to sitdown because people are busy, be concise. have a sbesivic question. when people sit down with me and go i don't know what i should do with me life. but when they sit down and say this is what i'm passionate about, there is a job at x., and here is my resume, can you help me. and dana, you are so good at this. attitude is everything. an attitude of gratitude, make superiors lives easier, they want to help you, they want you

around. be the person everybody wants to work with. >> i want to grow up to be just like you, so how do i do that. >> well, you first pray pro- -- my professional baseball. >> who do you play for? >> the minor league pirates. >> more thinking and less feeling meant, don't use smiley faces in your e-mail. if you finish your project on time, your boss will be happy and no exclamation points in the subject lines. i hate exclamation points. and 2016 seems like ages away but the hillary clinton chatter is starting. charles krauthammer has some comments that might surprise you. we'll hear those comments coming up.

♪ what is going on? >> finally i understand some music. election day 2016 is more than two and a half years away but it is never too soon to make predictions. if the election were held today. governor chris christie would be

neck and neck with hillary clinton. does hillary have what it takes to be in the white house and win the white house? i have my doubts too but charles krauthammer has some bold remarks. >> i think the status she enjoyed with democrats is semi devine. it is not a correlation, it will be a worship service. >> it will be weak, if they decides to run, which i think she is likely going to, i think she will be a rather weak opponent and republicans will have a good shot at the white house. >> i agree and disagree. which i don't. let's go around the table. we'll start with you. >> well love, charles. brilliant. i disagree. i think she'll be a good candidate and have a boat-load of money and exceed any numbers with money. and when the negative advertising happens that helps a lot. but kind of -- for -- i asked twitter and facebook viewers

about their opinion, obama was number one and benghazi was number two. people are still tuned into benghazi. this will haunt her in 2016. i guarantee what difference it doesn't make that point, we'll hear it over and over and that will hurt her. >> dana? >> i think yesterday in the fox poll asked democrats what they thought about hillary clinton or who they wanted to run. she's a 68% approval without even had she's going to run. she'll have the money. she won't have a primary. now the weaknesses -- that can hurt you in that when you go into the general, you are not -- i guess i would say fighting shape to run against your opponent. but it also can keep -- prevent you from making any mistakes during a primary season. i don't think they should expect a coronation but i think she will be very, very hard to beat. >> andrea? >> what has she done? she's a professional victim, she has great dance moves, we saw

her in the congo, toasting in south america. but what has she done? she tried to do hillary care before british colombia and she'll have to answer those questions and she has a thin resume. but it doesn't matter. the media will anoint her. barack obama had far less experience than she had and it didn't matter to the media. it will be her turn -- if 2008 was my turn then it will be her turn. and chris christie are already starting with the negative stories. this week, is he a bully? and little stories leak out and they'll do everything to get that poll back to where hillary clinton can run. i don't think she might for health reasons, just a little tidbit out there. >> but nobody likes a bully and they are doing stories against chris christie, and his supporters are saying, i don't like it. it is a negative thing in the press. the best thing that can happen for hillary clinton is

republicans take control of the house and the senate and it coo be -- it could be two years for the democrats saying the republicans are against -- obstructionists and it might help cascade her over the top. she had to take a step down for barack obama so he could become president so this is payback for her. hollywood, money, all of it will be there for her. >> let me wrap this up by saying that the polls about presidential elections two and a half years out are about the meaningless you can have. one. and when she was a senator, whether you agree or don't agree, she does have a good resume. but they will move the candidate to the right and not be able to get back to the center. i think the republicans chances of getting an election are nonexistent. >> what she didn't do is secure

an embassy which is a problem. >> i guarantee -- >> i agree with you on one thing, republican candidates feed to be very careful because "the new york times" knows one thing, that was her hometown paper when she ran for senate. they painted rick lawio because he made her sign that petition and she is a victim. it is tough to run negative against a female. >> and blazio was a lousy candidate and he deserved what he got. one more thing is up next.
