for our troops and civilians in afghanistan what the mission was about why we were in afghanistan. and why it was necessary to be clear we weren't staying in afghanistan on a combat mission forever. they defended the move. analysts are saying it is coincidence. there is such a strong defensive on vice president biden when he has been more. >> for all of the good in men there's a lot of good in joe biden. go back to the 80s. he was wrong about he wanted to keep the persian cruise missiles out of europe to support the nuclear freeze. when the first global war came along he was against it. when the second iraq war he was for that. up into this administration the

york. it calls it a traffic nightmare on the bridge. christie issued this statement saying... what i have seen today for the first time is unacceptable. i am outraged and deeply saddened to learn that not only was i misled by a member of my staff, but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge. christie says those responsible will be held accountable. >> a search is underway for a sailor a helicopter speed drag gorn and five person crew were on a training mission when they had to make an emergency landing off the coast of virginia beach. four of the five were rescued but two died later in the hospital. an investigation is underway to find out what cause the the helicopter to go down. the four u.s. air force members

killed in the crash has been identified. they died when the chopper went down during a training mission along the eastern coast of england on tuesday. >> this has obviously been a very traumatic incident for the entire liberty wing family and specifically the 56. we want to maintain and make sure we are taking care of the families and make sure they are safe before they head back out. >> they are still investigating what caused the crash. the 13-year-old girl declared brain dead is said to be improving since being fitted with breathing and feeding tubes this days after jahi mcmath was transferred from the children's hospital in oakland after doctors there refused to fit her with new feeding tubes. she was declared brain dead on december 12th after going into

cardiac arrest after routine tonsil surgery. the mother of former kansas city chief is suing the teen for wrongful death. 25-year-old belcher murdered his girlfriend and killed himself. belcher was subject to repeat head trauma and denied adequate healthcare by the chief. this comes after his body was exhumed after testing. this comes in the paining of the nfl's $765 million settlement to former players with brain ailments. one of the president's nominees to a top spot at the department of justice. former naacp lawyer could soon head up the doj's civil rights division, but his work defending a convicted cop killer has outraged a lot of people. his client abu jim mal murdered philadelphia police officer daniel falkner back in 1981.

being indoctrinated with violence and thundering. the union is being criticized of posting the video of a black child being victimized. stating quote i strongly disagree with any postings that may cause a divide in our community or an obstacle in a relati relation. the association defends the action saying the whole point of this is to give an unfiltered view of what police officers deal with every day. sergeant wells says he hopes the video will educate people but organizations like black men of omaha say the posting of the video would only expose the child to more ridicule. it evokes conversation people will likely have to do the right thing and help the child. >> shocking. thanks so much. kelly wright live in the studio.

vice president and the if president. >> beyond the criticism level of president obama for handleings of the war in iraq and afghanistan is it may be hillary clinton and joe biden that may have the most though worry about. look at the impact it had. this was lunch yesterday between president obama and vice president obama. it is always closed to the press until yesterday. the white house opens the doors to cameras they denied this but the timing makes it seem as though it was a response to gates who unleashed on biden who say he was consistently wrong. >> there's a lot of good in joe biden. he really was wrong about a lot of things. go back to the 80s. he was wrong about he wanted to keep the persian cruise missiles out of europe to support the nuclear freeze. when the first golf war came along he was opposed and voted against it. when the second gulf war the second iraq war came along he

would fail. it is a gut punch to everyone they sent to say i wasn't quite sure whether it would succeed but i sent you anyway. at thats outrageous. i was an advocate for the iraq surge believing we could turn the tied. how we finish matters. it is not just hshould we go in the first place. do we see it like fallujah black flags all over town because we wanted to end it not finish it. we are going to see the same conclusions in 2014. this president and we saw it from secretary gates' words in this book and see more when the book is revealed was interesting in ending it not finishing it. that's the biggest indictment you can have of a commander-in-chief. >> the search is underway for a missing sailor after a navy chopper goes down. the helicopter a sea dragon and its five person crew members were on a training mission when they had to make an emergency landing off the coast of

virginia beach. four of the five crew members were rescued but two died later at the hospital. an investigation is underway to find out what caused the helicopter to go down. the four u.s. air force members killed in the crash have been identified. captain christopher stover, captain shawn rue lan, technical sergeant dale matthews and staff sergeant holmes died when the hawk chopper went down during a training mission along the eastern coast of england on tuesday. >> this has obviously been a will traumatic incident. we want to make sure we take care of the families and air crew members are safe before they head back out. >> they are still investigating the cause of the crash. former new england aaron hernandez is due in court later today. he told police he was flying

with hernandez and lloyd when lloyd was killed. ortiz later changed his story to implicate the nfler as the loan gunman. ortiz has pled not guilty to an accessory charge. hernandez pleaded not guilty to murder and is awaiting trial. >> terror torn russia is boosting security in the weeks before the olympics now banning all liquid carry ones on flight for safety reasons in sochi. this comes after two suicide attacks killing 32 people in the city last month. officials say the threat of a terror attacks on airplanes is real. the new measures mean if you fly to moscow or another city from the united states liquids cannot stay with you and must be checked. new promises are designed to help them offer tax incentives and grants. do they go far enough? the president announcing the first five locations san

northeast. rain moves into the area ice already on several rivers and with a dramatic warm-up all coming together and could cause river flooding potential across the north ayes. that will be a big concern out here. the good news is the warm-up through the western half of the country. take a look at the temperatures on tuesday. in pittsburgh you got down to 9 below zero. by saturday up into the 50's. in rally single digits on tuesday. by saturday you can be in the 70s. it is going to feel like spring out there. get out and enjoy it but again a little bit of rain could be moving into some of these areas. otherwise we have the moisture across parts of arkansas, temperatures are cold enough we are seeing freezing rain reaching the ground. we have winter weather advisories out here including parts of western tennessee, also across missouri and eastern oklahoma a little snow can mix in with that. be careful on the roadways.

for four-days in september people werhere, we are talking school buses and emergency vehicles for hours because three lanes were reduced to one into that cash toll lane. the governor denied any involvement in purposefully shutting down the lanes as some sort of political pay back because the mayor here in fort lee who is a democrat didn't want to endorse christie's reelection. there are now apparently two weeks before the lane closings, one of christie's top aid kelly actually e-mailed the port authority who happens to be christie's close friend. she wrote, time for some traffic problems in fort lee. that's really damming right there. there are also calls for the u.s. attorney to investigate the governor canceled yesterday but the statement reads what i have seen from the times is

president obama's former defense secretary robert gates has written a new memoir where he says joe biden has been wrong on every foreign policy issue in the last four years. he says he's awful when it comes to foreign countries. then biden says is this about the time i got lost at epcot? going to bring that up again? >> in the news this morning, quite a scare inside the kentucky state capital when a lawmaker accidentally fires her gun in her office. the democratic represent issued a statement says the shot was fired unintentionally. a colleague was there in the office at the time with her but none was injured. the lawmakers shies got a concealed carry permit for safety reasons. >> a woman in florida ends up saving her husband's life in indiana. she knew something wasn't right when she wasn't hearing from him so she kept calling him. tushes out her husband, a
