>> thank you for starting your day off. we begin with a fox news alert. a break in the case of the missing involved in the 3-year-old's disappearance seven years ago. the men were accused of robbing the resort where maddie and her family were vacationing in portugal. police checked phone records and are looking at why they made unusually amount of phone calls to each other in the hours after she vanished. this stems from the review of the original investigation. british police uncovered nearly 200 leads that the portuguese police failed to follow up on and identified 40 persons of interest including these three men. >> a retired police captain behind bars after allegedly shooting two people in a florida movie theater. 71-year-old curtis reed is accused of shooting 43-year-old

chad olson and his wife nicole during an argument over text messaging over the movie. olson was killed his wife was shot in the hand as she raised in to protect her husband when reed true her gun. an off duty deputy detained him until police arrived. >> the ban on using tap water affects 26,000 residents but many are skeptical. officials started lifting the ban in downtown charleston. residents were told they could start a flushing process to make sure pipes were cleared of all of the chemicals. but some say they are not drinking it until they know all of the chemicals spilled in the river are completely removed. >> kept doing it over and over and over again. the water kept coming up blue. it is unsafe. i don't want to drink it and bathe in it. >> it could be days before all

of the west virginia counties are given the go ahead. >> southwest airlines grounding the two veteran pilots who landed a passenger jet at the wrong missouri airport. the men put on paid leave until the federal investigation into the incident is completed. the plane eventually took off without issue on the shortened runway. it lifted off from cheney county airport nearly 20 hours after it was supposed to land at branson airport which was 7 miles away. this by the way the second time in two months the jet landed at the wrong airport. >> who was buying obamacare? not young people, apparently. new numbers are revealing the critical demographic isn't enrolling as much as the administration hoped they would. kelly wright is live in our studio to tell us what the white house is going to do without the young enrollees. good morning, kelly. only 24 percent of 49,000

enrollees are in the 18 to 34 age bracket. critics say without a larger portion of young people obamacare will only develop more problems. two messages are coming out of the obama administration response to the latest numbers. one administration sets the number of 18 to 24-year-olds is in a solid place. out of a general population of 1.82 million people signing up 26 percent are young people which they say are huge. jay carney did not address the numbers on monday but a week ago you may recall he said the administration would continue to reach out to young people to get them to enroll. >> a good mix is important that includes young americans as we talked about. there are obviously campaigns underway to reach as many people as possible. without the wisdom of taking advantage of these opportunities to sign up for health insurance. we are going to be as we have all along engaged in an effort

dollars that would compensate for a program that is completely out of whack. that's why republicans ought to pass within a week or two right now a provision to abolish the bailout then you will see the insurers in a different way. if they have to do it honestly and have to raise the premiums you are going to hear them scream. >> we will see. other news new jersey governor chris christie set to deliver his annual saturdtate of the st address today in the midst of two separate scandals. he is facing tough questions over the use of super storm sandy relief fund. federal officials are investigating whether christie improperly used $25 million federal dollars to produce these tourism ads that feature he and his family. the governor is also under investigation after his staff orchestrated traffic grid locks on the george washington bridge to punish a democratic mayor who

refused to endorse the reelection. president obama claims made in former defense secretary's new memoir. the president playing nice down-playing the book even praising gates. peter gates is not backing down from these claims, though, right? >> no, heather, not only is former secretary of defense robert gates standing by his accounts of the way decisions were made inside the white house during the wars in iraq and afghanistan, now he's pushing back telling his critics in the obama administration to quote look in the mirror and furthermore, gates says this, i don't buy the notion that the book shouldn't have been written or shouldn't have been written for another three years or that it is a negative narrative about president obama. during an oval office meeting with president mcbain yesterday the president briefly mentioned the book here's what he said.

a retired police captain accused of opening fire at a movie theater all over texting. wdvt reporter is live for us in wesley chapel, florida. what happened during that movie. what caused this? >> good morning. we are told that this started over a text message. apparently there was a man insided movie theater who was texting during the previews of the movie. another gentlemen asked him to stop and he refused. that's when the gun was pulled and he was shot and killed. it was a terrible scene. some people leaving the movie theater with blood on their clothes yelling they couldn't believe what was going on. the victim in this case chad olson was texting during the preview to the movie lone survivor. investigators say retired police officer curtis reeves jr. became upset. he told management about the texting them came back to the

theater and shot olson killing him. he does leaf behind -- leave behind his 3-year-old little girl. he will make his first appearance to a judge today. >> what a disturbing story. a lot of unanswered questions. a man is dead and a woman missing after three people fall into the icy chicago river. the 26-year-old man dropped his cell phone he jumped in after it, his two friends jumped in after him. they were able to pull the man out but not the woman. one man died the other in critical condition. the search will continue for that woman. >> the self proclaimed mastermind of 9-11 now communicating beyond the walls of his cell with a pen pal. a man in england just received a 27 page letter handwritten by sheikh mohammed talking about
