(applause) >> thank you very much. thank you. and welcome to huckabee from the fox news studios in new york city. this week, a couple hundred thousand people will descend on washington d.c. in the annual march for life. if i hadn't just told you about it, you probably wouldn't have heard approximate. it you know, let a dozen or so occupy wall street protestors set up camp on the washington mall it will get attention on the nightly news and make the front page of the new york types and washington post. 250,000 pro-life advocates, will at best get a brief mention. implying that right- wing nuts are engaged on a war on women. and a better than even chance, the group will be labelled 18-

abortion throw it deserves the moniker of pro-life. if they are anti- abortion, does that make the opposition pro abortion instead of pro-choice. they believe in choice as long as it is to end the life of a baby. but if a mother chooses to be a mother and give birth is that making herselfish and stupid and enslaved? the rock stars and republican consulting tell candidates not to discuss the issue of safrpthity of life for fear of offending the women voters. the dpop genius fail to recognize just because they can't defend the life position doesn't mean some of us can't. the ridiculous claim that pro-life is a war on women is an insult of millions of people who make extraordinary sacrifices for their women. and democrats to reduce women

for cheap beggars of birth control is demeaning. women i know also have brains and they use them creativity and effectively and they can manage everything from a business to a household. democrats pushing the war on women nonsense, they pretend that women are helpless and hopeless unless the government pays for abortion and birth control. treating women as victims of their gender is outrageous. the women are equal can worth as well as the value. and it is why i appreciate strong women like sarah foster who heads an organization women for life. and ceo of susan b though though fund. they don't want to be men tourized or marginized and incapable of responsibility for

the unique and noble abilities as women. they understand that real power for a woman is to give life and not to take it. the good news is, increasing numbers of young women are decidedly pro-life. in part, believing that life has values from the origins is consistent with solid science and in part they recognizing devaluing any life is hardly the means to elevate women. for the timid hand ringing republican consultants, look at the example of rhoins preuous who will delay the meeting so that national committee members can participate in the march for life. he's demonstrated that the best way to counter the democrat's phony charge of a war on women, is to lead in the war for women. all women. ine the ones yet to be born.

(applause) well in announcing the proposed chaefrjs to the nsa surveillance program on friday, president obama wants to work with leaders on capitol hill. >> i will consult william relevant committees in congress to seek their views. and then seek congressional authorization for the new program as needed. >> now that is a surrounding statement from the president considering what he said earlier before the first cabinet meeting of the year. >> we are not just going to wait for legislation in order to make sure that we are providing americans the help they need. i have a pen and ihave a phone. i can sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions. >> okay, will he or won't he work for congress. here is mitch mcconnell of

kentucky. the president said he can do it on his own. and last week he said he really wants to work with congress. which president do you believe is telling the truth? >> we get both versions are you tonely. he would be smart to work with congress. everybody is concerned about their privacy, but we are concerned about avoiding another 9/11 attack and a number of the techniques that we developed in the last ten years have prevented those attacks and i think we can meet the balance between americans understandably concerned about their privacy and still protecting united states from another terrorist attack. he would be smart rather than doing that by himself to engage congress. we all have the same goal here. how do you square the two concerns? privacy on one hand versus protecting the public from

a terrorist attack on the other. >> and there is a article you wrote in politicalo and you wrote about the challenges in the senate. notable harry reid's heavy hand approach to cutting off debate is taking away the intent of what our founders meant for the senate. can it be fixed? >> yes, one person could fix. it if i were a majority leader of the senate i could fix it. (applause) >> because what he has done, governor, there is a parlimitary tech teak to the majority leader to prevent the marinity and his own members from getting amendments. and to show you how bad it is in the senate, republicans have had four roll call votes on amendments they cared about in july in six months. the senate used to be a free

flowing place in which all peoples ideas were considered. and ultimately the process worked over 200 years and one person, the majority leader of the senate has turned the senate in a place where you can't get your amendments voted on. and what that means on, those of us all over the country who represent people are not begin an opportunity to present the ideas of the people from the states that we come from. it can change with just one move and that is for the american people to elect a republican majority of the united states senate. i promise we will open you want the amendments ourselves. >> you certainly convinced our audience here. we need to disclose to our television audience. i have endorsed you in the reelection bid and i would like to see you as the majority leader instead of the minority

leader. if you were in the role, would you reverse the nuclear option that was invoked by the harry reid and the democrats, that took away the voice of the moirnity something that was traditionally upheld in all of american history. >> they broke the rules of the senate to change the rules of the senate. it is a big deal and didn't get a lot of press, but it is a big deal and consistent with what the president did a couple of years ago when he decided we were not in session when we were in session and issued what was called a recess appointment. we had a hearing before the supreme court just this week, governor, and when a lana ka ga n and sonya sotomayor are pounding the government's lawyers there is a good chance with the supreme court with a broad margin will slap down

the president's attempt to declare -- (applause) what he was doing in effect he got to decide when we were in session. ine elenna ka ga n was not buying that. he will be slapped down and we'll run the senate with a new majority and open and respectful way of the process and still america right and center. (applause) >> senator you took action to protect the coal industry in kentucky and virginia. many states where coal is critical. what action are you trying to take to stop the epa for what is nothing less than a heavy handed approach to destroy the coal industry in america? >> it is tragic, we have a depression, not a recession, but a depression in central aplatchia and lost five this happened of the 18,000 coal moining jobs in my state.

for every coal mining job you lose, you lose throw more. a depression created by this administration and epa. they are issuing a regulation governor, will guarantee there will not be a coal fired plant built in america. that is 40 percent of our electricity. coal keeps the lights on. what we are doing, is implementing what is called the congressional review process to try to overturn that regulation. i am not optimistic that the president would sign it if we put it on his desk but we'll try. the only way to end the depression is have a new president and a new administration and i am optmistec we'll get that in three years. >> i am hoping and a hope that will happen. senator great to have you here and thank you for joining us today. it is it a role pleasure. >> that coal issue affects you.

hackers scammed millions of customers. major retailers like neim an marcus and target confirmed a middecember secretary breach finding data was compromised. target's breach alone affected more than 100 million customers. last month target reported that

hackers compromised the security of 40 million credit and debit card user. it affected an additional 70 million people and that means it impacted one in three americans. the breach not only stole credit card information including card number and experation date and cvc codes and home addresses and e-mails and telephone numbers. target ceo has assured customers that target will cover the cost of fraud activity. >> 0 liberty and target is paying for fraudulent activity on anybody's credit card. >> target claimed that hackers kob tain today in ma lware. >> and several major banks including bank of america and city bank are sending new debit and credit cards. jp morgan sending out 2 million replacement cards to their

customers. joining me is fox business network jerry willis. >> let me get to it. should we stop using credit cards? >> yes. you have several options. a use more cash. not every family can do that. a lot of families bridge the car with cards. and use fewer credit cards. i had an expert say check your credit card every single day. if you have 15 it is hard to do. i got wind of the super chip and pin cards that will protect you more. >> explain that super pin and chip card that protect us. >> enb smart card and chip in pin and microchip embedded in the card and protects your permanent information. you know, we tock a look recently how many times your information flows through the system with one credit card purchase. 12 times.

12 people exchange your information. that is it a lot of opportunity for hackers go tote your stuff. >> this card, how dow get one of those? >> it is tough because it is not the rule. i beg my credit card issuer for one and i got one and not what everyone is doing. 2 billion to turn the whole country to chip and pin and they don't want to spend the money. and how much it target lose. >> $8 million. but consider all of the knock on affects here. they lost 2 billion in market value. and others are the banks had to send out cards all over the country, millions and millions of cards and that is expensive and the other hacks that went on. six other retailers may have been hacked at the same time. if that is true, estimate is total loss to the banks and

retailers, 180 billion. >> billion. so 2 billion to fix and we'll spend 180 billion. why don't we go to a better system? >> i wish i could answer that question. i don't have a good answer for. that i asked retailers and bankers and they are not ready to pony up the dough. there is a rule coming in 2015 and they are supposed to upgrade and it is not a federal law but a promise to upgrade the cards. this ips dent could start them to upgrade these cards. >> north korea. >> come on. they eat grass over there and don't even have food. >> it is true. >> if you have a credit card in north korea it is safer than here in the usof a. and if you are french you have a better credit card. >> and a credit card hacker got in the system like target and we

know that he gets the credit card information. and what other information about the consumer might they have just from that traps action. >> and personal information about how much you spend and consider this. target has pharmacy cards and all of your medical information on that. and what if they get. that what kind of drugs you use and might try to steal the information and replicate that information and substantially get drugs on your dime. >> i don't guess i will be pulling out my credit card. it does make me wonder and makes me realize we need a better system in place. terry willis, thank you for being here. great information. and the senate committee makes conclusions on the benghazi attack and a moving mogul taking on the the nra with a movie. we'll be right back.

every american should join with me in encysting that we find out what really happen and who is responsible. well, this week. movie mogul harvey weinstein talked about a upcoming project on the holocaust. he said the only justiction of using a gun is moving half million people in a ustwiowa tz. i don't think we need dpuns in this area. and i will make a movie. i will tell it to you howard. i will make a movie with merrill strep and take the issue head-on and they will wish they were not alive after i am done with them. >> oh, i am sure they are scared in the nra headquarters. one thing that harvey said that was right. i shouldn't have said this,

>> the husband and father of a brain dead woman in texas is suing the hospital to stop treatment. he found his wife unconscious at home in november and 14 weeks pregnant. she's been on life support in fort worth where doctors are monitoring the condition of the unborn baby. eric said in the past and he agreed not to seek life support in a situation like this. and he's concerned about the long- term damage to the baby.

>> joining me now is ga yle williams, she was told by her doctor if she continued to carry her unborn child she would go bliepd. gale choice to give birth to daughter linde over the eyesight. she is author of remarkable bock of seeing beyond and joins me now. >> gale, the decision that the doctor put in front of you is one that most can't compreend. you will go blind if you carry the baby. he turjed you to abort the daughter. was it easy to make? >> no, it was a difficult decision and not only that. we have a total of five children. it was a decision with each of our children where i gradually lost my eyesight. and the doctor said you have

choose between your baby and eyes. there was nothing ever prepared me for that moment except a passage i memorrized about choices. life-and-death in front of me and that life was the better choice. and that's all i had to go on. i didn't know the consequences and i really didn't know what the results would be. one thing i know, life is always a gift, life is the best choice. (applause) >> you knew full well gale, if you carried this baby to term, that there was a very strong likelihood you would lose your eyesight and this would be a baby you would not personally see with human eyes. >> that's difficult. there are consequences to the decision i made. but in the middle of all of it, i found something. i found that vision was first in my darkest ever.

we have to have a vision of the generations to come. if you chose between convenience and legacy. legacy winds hands down every time. i try to focus on not what i lost but gained. and what i gained is a potential for the next generation. >> and we have a picture on the screen behind us. it is a picture of that daughter and her daughter. your grand daughter. and so generations now are coming after you gale that would never have been had you made a different decision. i understand that the doctor was angry at you and chided you for making that decision. >> he said you have to choose. i choose my baby. the doctor slammed my folder and said what a foolish decision. i sat alone and not knowing the consequences, but my core in me, the pillar and my anchor that day was my compass and it is

that passage to choose life and i anyhow that life was the gift. i had no idea the details of what happen would happen and it would bring me to you today and experience and tell everyone we have to quit living life based on what we see. it is limited and definitely discouraging and disappointing at time. but that is the difference with vision. i am not sure what happened in america that we can't see the value of life. life is a gift and life is to be valued. yes, there are invice-president moments and concerns with a parent that your child will be okay, yes. is there love even when your child has a handicap or challenge they work through. yes. life is to be valued no matter what. my biggest concern is not only the child within but people valuing our lives now. and valuing your life, governor. you are positioned for this hour. that is to be valued and none of

mcwilliams. gale in fort worth, texas, the very sad case of marlist mens on who is declared brain dead and got a baby in the 2nd week of pregnancy. her husband would like to end the life support for her which would take the life of her baby. if you could talk to him, what would you say to him? >> first of all, i would give him empathy. i know what it is in the middle of a crisis to choose life. i know what it is to give up so much so someone else can live. and what i would say to him thank you for the noble act of laying your life down. her life laid her life down so another might be born. and i am sure it is difficult to so someone you love decaying all around you. it is eight bittersweet situation having lost my eyesight having our children. i would encourage him about the

vision of a potential of the next generation and in the middle of great loss comes a gift. this gift has the potential of going beyond and a legacy piece to go beyond what they lost. >> like the picture of your daughter and grand daughter. if you made a different decision that picture wont exist and wont be available for us to put on the screen and your store tore would not be the story and you and i would not be talking. you would have lived your life with a sight and never told the story. but i am impressed that you are not angry at that young man in texas and you don't speak with him with a sense of judgment but with love and compassion with him for the tough decision he faces. >> it is a difficult decision and the truth of the matter, his wife is giving him a gift and taking her last breath to do so. it is a noble act.

and i am sure many support him to pull the plug. ine when we make statements, sometimes the twists and turns we don't know. i never wanted to be a woman who couldn't see. i have been dropped in a blind world. we lost sight of what is important. and we only see life based on what we see. but there is more to it and so many times we fail to see the potential and the treasure of this moment that we are positioned. and in the middle is hardship, yes. but there is also joy in the journey. somebody ask me gale how can you have joy and can't see. i said how you can have joy and so. >> it is i power of choice. >> just to see the radiance of your face is to see a person who only lost sight but did not lose life and what a joy and what an

obama care needs healthy young adults to sign up to

offset the cost for older people. it is not happening according to health and human services .... it is the latest desperate attempt to get young people to sign up, recruited basketball hall of fame erma jik johnson. >> young people think they are superman like young people never going to have something happen to them. trust me, one day something is going to happen, and you are going to need a quality health plan. make sure you get obamacare. >> what's going to happen to healthcare if young people don't sign up. joining me is ohio lt. governor and director of the ohio department of insurance mary taylor. mary, thanks for coming today. >> thank you. [ applause ] >> the whole plan is really predicated on younger people buying in. what happens if they don't? >> well, unfortunately, it's already happening. we're going to have risk pools that are sicker and older than is necessary in

order for this to be successful. in ohio, only 19% those that are signed up are between the age of 19 and 34. it's a very serious issue. from the insurance companies from the can we pay our claims will would he be here from a consumer perspective. that's what insurance is for. pay the claims when they come due. >> the whole idea was that you get young people who probably aren't going to have any claims, they are going to pay the premiums, there is money in reserve. the sicker people and older people will be living off the younger people. if the younger people don't sign up and only people in there are the sicker people there is n cover it then what happens to the insurance companies? >> premiums continue to go up when they can. unfortunately, we are very concerned 'insurance companies stay pay claims. if they don't get the premiums up fast enough they are going to go bankrupt. that's bad for consumers. >> at love promises were made. you can keep your doctor and

insurance. $2,500 per family less expensive. none of those things have been true. also promised more competition and more companies would rush into the marketplace to offer. in ohio, for example, what's happened? have more people come to the marketplace? >> unfortunately, just the opposite. we have less consumer choice and we have less competition. on the exchange, in ohio prior to the exchange, we had 60 company cans selling individual health insurance. >> 60? >> 60. on the exchange we have 12. >> whoa, so only one in five of the companies selling insurance before are now still in the marketplace? >> yes. on the exchange. and it's unfortunate. premiums went up 41% on average in our individual market. our small group premiums went up on average 18%. prices went up. consumer choice went down and competition decreased. >> everything that was supposed to happen has not happened. now, i think a lot of people who have ever worked in state government i felt this way and you probably did too, you saw that coming. you could understand there

was not going to be the panacea, this fix for everything. whats were the danger signs from the beginning that this administration simply didn't pay attention to? >> all of the new mandates. we talked earlier about having to -- for you having to have pregnancy coverage for example. >> you never know, i mean, mary, who knows. >> well, you never know. >> i think i do. in this case i think i do. >> but, in this case, it doesn't make sense. we all intuitively know that does not make sense. yet, we all have to have coverage we don't want, can't need, can't afford. when you lay out a program that's forcing everybody to have a one size fits all resolution we are not one size fits all people. there is just no way it can be successful. >> when the insurance companies are told okay, you you can't offer this policy and then the president comes back right at the end of the year you know what? , go ahead and offer it anyway. why is that impractical? is a lot of things that have to happen behind the scenes. >> when the insurance companies praising the

products they made a decision and projection about who was going to purchase in the exchange, for example. that completely throws off their numbers which means premiums are going to go up even more for individuals purchasing on the exchange much the plans may not be available anymore. they expected not to continue these plans. it's very likely that the plans aren't even there. >> do you think there will be a major change to obamacare, repeal? just big tweaks and changes? what's the future likely to hold? >> well, my hope is that it would be repealed and replaced. [cheers and applause] >> at a minimum. it would be nice if we could get some changes. >> well, one thing about it, it has not lived up to all the things it is posed to be. we are not talking about the web site but the program itself and how challenging it is. if this whole thing fails, would that put us toward a single payer system? >> i think it's a little bit too early to predict that at this point. but what i would like to see is if this thing fails it's

not going to work. and this is closer to saying gel payer system than where we are today. if this isn't going to work and it's not so fashion then let's go back to giving states flexibility, like ohio, let us make decisions about what's best for our consumers. monday is going to be the official observance and holiday honoring dr. martin luther king jr. i'm not sure dr. king would be comfortable with his birthday being marked by people taking the day off. his life was not about taking days off but taking days on. and he took on a lot of days, days of injustice, days of racism.

days of double standards and days of persecution. his life was not about taking holidays but about taking the heat for trying to change attitudes in the culture. he might even be amused that banks that would have once refused to given a loan to a man of color are now closed in honor of a man of color. [ applause ] that a federal government that once spied on his private life would now shut down for a day to remember it. and that schools that once would have refused to allow his children to enter their doors would now dedicate a day of study about the impact of his life. not many presidents have changed the world as dramatically did dr. king. the country will now take a day off to remember him. let's hope that it's not just a day off. let it be a day on. on for being kind to others. on for not retaliating in anger or violence, and on to working hard to serve others
