8:15 pm
according to the "new york times," at least, the first thing he did after coming out of that long news conference he held was to call the co-host of the morning show presumably to make sure that relations with that program, at least, remained good. >> okay. a number of things in play here. number one, i think the hoboken situation was the end of the line. because they on that network had been slamming him every show every day. you know, it's unbelievable. that was basically that's when they said all right. enough is enough. number two, you are right. i mean, the governor has dined with the devil. i mean, i don't know how to put it much friendlier to them than to me. he has never been on here. we can never figure out why because we have been fair to the governor. he felt a sense of betrayal because he had been so nice to that network then they

8:18 pm
around the breakfast table conversations, nothing unusual or particularly inappropriate about a politician developing a friendly relationship with the host of these morning shows, it probably helps the morning show and it probably helps the politician, and troubles caused by that bill coverage right word on msnbc has been excessive and perhaps not wrong for him to point that out to respond what happened over the weekend with this broadside against this cable channel accusing it of being part san which it is and everybody knows that i don't think helps much. >> maybe i'm just jealous because nobody likes me. 8:23 pm
joining us now from washington mary katharineham and juan williams both fox news analyst. so, 436 to zero, juan. this must be a pretty serious situation. how do you see it? >> you know, i just think it was so ridiculous. putin last week said that, you know, just so the gays leave the children alone as if somehow gay athletes are coming to russia in -- i mean, it was just awful. but, the key thing here is, we don't need a jimmy carter. we don't need to pull our athletes out. we just have to be consistent and say we are standing up for human rights. we have a different understanding of individual rights in our country and if you try to pick on our athletes. if we have a gay athlete that stands up like those guys in mexico who raised their fist for civil rights. if you are going to pick on our gay athletes then we will have some response. >> they are not going to do that. correct you. the guys in mexico city stood up for black power. not civil rights. black power.
