department of state and call the department of homeland security when something comes to their desk that they think is worth supporting? >> yes, i think it is. there are two ways to look at this. one it looks like a classic instance where if you are powerful and have a lot of money and you are in trouble. what do you do to get the attention of a politician? you 5 them lots of money and suddenly they take a lot of interest in your case. mark rich, his ex-wife gave a million dollars to clinton in his various enterprises and bill clinton pardons him at end of his administration. i don't thinking about convicted in ecuador is like being convicted in canada. i don't think anyone should have blind faith in the ecuadorian justice system. martha: it's got to be creating

6:16 am
end is fundamentally false but not effectively challenged premise that is the core weakness of the tea party. bill: explosive word from democrat chuck schumer calling for the irs to rein in the tea party. i spoke to herman cain, former presidential candidate out of atlanta. it's chili down there. sird -- it's chilly down there. good morning to you. >> it's a balmy 18. bill: chuck schumer, what do you think of that? >> chuck schumer is about as out of touch with the majority of the american as people as president obama. the majority of the american people don't want bigger government and more government in their lives. they want less government and less government in their lives.
6:17 am
schumer's characterization of the tea party couldn't be more wrong. but he believes that there are enough stupid people out there who will fall for that rhetoric and narrative that he and the president quite frankly and other democrats are perpetuating. the tea party is an attitude that has not gone away, less government, less taxes and more individual responsibility. >> reporter: just look at his word. they convinced americans the explanation for all their ills. if you dramatically shrink government all the problems go away. what would you say to him? >> with all due respect, government is not the solution to all their ills. too much government is the solution to most of our problems. that's what the tea party movement is all about. senator schumer and the president simply don't get it
6:18 am

6:20 am
radio. because you and we and other talk show hosts are telling people the truth and giving them the facts. they don't want them to know the facts because they can't handle the facts. bill: you talk to people every day. in the 15 seconds i have left. in southeast in atlanta, are thing better? are they turning around or does it feel stuck on stuck. >> in the southeast it's still stuck on stuck. i have callers from all over the country because i'm indicated. all over the country we are still stuck on stuck and that's a great way to describe what the economy is and the fact that people can't find jobs because businesses are on hold. they won't grow because of the uncertainty that coming out of washington and the president's threat to use his pen and his phone. that does not create jobs. bill: good luck on the radio today.
6:21 am
it's great to be back in up with you. from a frozen atlanta, georgia. you almost see a campaign developing between chuck schumer's comment on the tea party and andrew cuomo and the president's comments about rush limbaugh and fox news. martha: a political showdown before the gridiron showdown, mr. bill o'reilly sitting down with president obama before the super bowl. what would you ask him if you were bill o'reilly? bill: a 40-car pileup thanks to old man winter and they are still cleaning up this mess today. >> we saw people waving and getting out of their vehicles screaming.
