threat at the games. >> good morning heather and ainsley. sochi security remains a top concern. thousands of spectators are on hand. they are arriving at the sochi center as the games begin. across homeland security they are banning liquids from it the u.s. to russia. >> there has been an up tick in the threat reporting in a runoff to the sochi games and that is of concern. >> some banned carry ones some travelers breezing through security with toothpaste and other things in hand no problem. >> a ring of steel has sochi on lock down. 30,000 people are on duty. terrorists could already be inside posing as one of the thousands hired adds workers. that may not be the biggest

in the bathroom. >> two years after the death of 5-year-old alex saw start eting new revelations land his father and her wife in jail. they are accused of forcing the little child to drink two liters of grape soda and water as punishment which led to swelling of the brain. the couple is due in court later today. >> the search to find a missing baby boy. 5 month old caden disappeared from his bass net early this morning. there's no signs of forced entry. right now time is of the essence. >> obviously in this case a 5 day old baby can't take care of himself, we have got frigid temperatures out and it's just a frantic search to try to locate this baby.

>> at this point the police don't have any suspects. in a few hours family and close friends of phillip seymour hoffman will say their final good-byes to the actor. he will be laid to rest in a private funeral mass. hoffman's long time girlfriend and three young children gathered for his weak. they were joined by cate blanchett and am amy adams. he died sunday of an apparent heroin overdose. >> a setback to the obama administration is considering another extension of the existing health insurance policies. elizabeth frprann is in washingn with what this means for you at home. >> the reports are coming in from not only the white house but also the insurance industry. there was one adjustment under consideration that would allow individual policyholders to keep existing plans for an extra three years. this includes policies if they

northeast. that's an issue for people without power. further inland you are talking colder windchill p it is in the single giths like pennsylvania and parts of maryland. otherwise chicago, minneapolis, rapid city your windchill temperatures are below zero, well below zero for some of you. we have windchill advisories for many of the areas. high temperatures will remain below average all of the way down in parts of texas for highs in dallas and san antonio only making it to the upper 30's in the afternoon hours. you mentioned the storm system we are going to see another pool of moisture move in especially as we head to the afternoon hours. we have winter storm warnings in effect. we could see a foot of snow for some of the higher elevations. parts of texas, arkansas, tennessee and up into kentucky have winter weather advisories. they can see a little bit of snow 1-2 inches expected but it

it is now seven minutes till the top of the hour. terrifying video out of ohio. fire fighters rushing to rescue a driver in columbus as the salt truck is dangling over a wall. the driver rode backwards ton a wall directly on to an interstate. he was trapped inside for an hour until rescuers were eight to get him out safely. a minnesota school remains closed after a possible carbon monoxide leak which sent dozens of children to the hospital. police were called to the springfield elementary school after students felt sick in the auditorium. 30 kids were sent to the hospital. maryland wants to ban energy drinks for children.
