this saturday. i'm arthel neville. >> i'm gregg jarrett. glad you're with us. it's another wintry weekend for millions of americans. meteorologist janice dean live in the fox extreme weather center with the latest details. >> hi. yes. we have another winter storm. we are dealing with some wet weather and snowy weather for the northwest. another clipper system for the midwest. don't want to ignore you guys. across the northeast again, another winter storm that is going to bring blizzard conditions for new england. you can see the snow where the snow is flying. we have some significant airport delays. newark, close to four hours of delays for you. even in philadelphia where it's just lightly snowing, you've got over an hour delay there. all around the new york airports we are going to see delays, unfortunately, as this system continues. to bring light snow to new york city, providence, as well. freezing rain reported in philadelphia right now. that could add to the problems

at the airports. then we'll see this storm bomb out is what we call it in meteorology. strengthen very rapidly in a short period of time. here we are saturday 3:00 p.m. going through 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., still new york, jersey, long island, up towards new england. new england, you are going to get the brunt of this storm. coastal areas of massachusetts towards maine, this is an incredibly strong storm. for northern new england and our friends in eastern canada, we are going to see an incredible storm. if i have good news on the horizon, we are going to warm up a little bit this week heading into tuesday. we are going to deal with another quick-moving storm. it might be too warm for snow. we'll keep our fingers crossed and keep you posted. want to update you on the northwest. we have a parade of storms moving out here. a lot of people are what about me, j.d., the northwest? we'll see more rain and expect delays across the west. we'll keep you up-to-date coast

carolina and georgia just last night. its epicenter was seven miles west of the town of edgefield, south carolina. with a preliminary magnitude of 4.1. no damage or injuries from this quake have been reported so far. officials are investigating further today. other news right now. we are awaiting a florida jury's verdict which could come any time now in the murder trial of michael dunn who is accused of fatally shooting a 17-year-old after a dispute over loud music. the jury has been deadlocked on some of the charges. let's bring in steve harrigan now in miami live with the latest. tell us what is the latest today? >> after four days of deliberation, the 12 person jury has come back to the judge again this morning for more questions. asking if the charges should be considered separately. dunn is facing five separate charges in addition to murder.

three counts of attempted murder. the judge instructed the jury they should consider them all separately. those attempted murder charges carry penalties up to 20 years. four days in, the courtroom is clear and that jury could come back with a verdict any minute. >> sometimes in cases like this, there is now concern that prosecution might have overreached. >> the jury is certainly deadlocked on something, at least one charge. much the speculation is over that first degree murder charge that. would carry life in prison. also means they believe that dunn was premeditated in his attack on 17-year-old, a deliberate attempt to murder. that's been the hang up so far. that would require life in pris prison. dunn claims he simply acted in self-defense. he claims a shotgun was pointed at him, but police never found any such weapon at the scene.

other. listen to syria's mediator lash out. >> whatever you hear from these amateurs when they come here and stand on the podium and they address the media, international media, this is not accurate. this is not true. they are just misleading the public opinion by circulating wrong rumors. >> he later apologized to the syrian people for facing to reach agreements. syria is dominating talks between president obama and king abdullah in a meeting in california friday. they will help jordan with the humanitarian crisis created by hundreds of thousands of refugees from syria's civil war flooding across the border. president obama also pledged continuing economic aid for the ally jordan, including $1 billion in loan guarantees.

organized labor taking a major blow in the south as employees at the volkswagen plant in chattanooga, tennessee, voted against joining the united auto workers union. the decision expecting to obstruct the long-term plans to organize other auto plants down south. brian llenas live with more. >> united auto workers membership and influence has been declining for decades. uaw publically admitted that the union has no long-term future if they cannot begin to organize outside of detroit's three major auto companies and expand to the at least 14 foreign auto assembly plants in the southern united states. which is why yesterday's vote was such a big deal. chattanooga volkswagen plant was seen by supporters as the uaw's best chance to begin expanding into the south. after three days of secret balloting, workers at the plant voted friday night 712-626 against joining the uaw.

it's a stunning vote, particularly because vw was seen as friendly to the union. they maintained they were neutral throughout the vote. friday night's vote is a major win for republicans like senator bob corker of tennessee, who blames the uaw bankrupting u.s. automakers this detroit. corker has been the most vocal opponent and was crucial to bringing volkswagen to chattanooga. >> how many companies from south korea or japan or germany, how many of them do you think make a stop in detroit to look at locating there? none. not a one. it's because of the culture that the uaw's largely contributed to. >> "needless to say, i am thrilled for the employees at volkswagen and for our community and its future." politicians threatened to cut

a cold dose of reality once he took over, he was the one to take over the throne? keeping in mind what press secretary jay carney said yesterday, that it was the quality and type of executive actions that then senator obama believed were not appropriate on the part of president george w. bush. >> i don't begrudge him having a different point of view once he is president. he didn't take the throne, but he's acting like he's taken the throne. we are talking about a small group of federal workers in the future. it's so he can say he did something like he could say he did something regarding guns after newtown. most those executive orders had no teeth to them. i think this is a paper tiger for his base. he is worried about 2014 and not about whether workers get minimum wage. >> richard, how do you see it? >> there are two questions. one is what he doing lawful and the other is correct. the record is clear he has the

lowest rate of issuing executive orders of any president since grover cleveland who left office in 1889. that is indisputable. fewer than gerald ford and others in for very short period of time. the emancipation proclamation, did anybody think that was lawless? he got more votes. democrats in the senate and house got more votes. he is trying to move on something he ran on, minimum wage, giving a chance to dreamers, kids of these undocumented immigrants. i really think across the board it's not political. he is trying to do what he ran on. judge, martha, let me get you back in here. how do you think republicans should push back on those dems who might say this was precipitated by the republican

party putting up political barricades before the president at every turn? >> i don't see, the republicans control 1/2 of the congress. they don't control the senate. the president has as much problem getting his agenda through in the senate that is controlled by democrats as he does on the other side. his problem is that he really doesn't want to work with congress. he likes photo opes. he likes to have meetings where he tells people how it's going to be. he doesn't want to negotiate. if i were president obama, i would be looking at the senate who he had control of his entire time and he still can't get his agenda through on the senate side. if we were working the way we should work, the house would pass their agenda, the senate would pass theirs and then you go to conference committee. it's not happening that way. the president is not leading. >> richard, let me say that, if we take martha's lead and stick with the democrats here, how does this bode for the president and his party? you're talking about fellow dems up for re-election in november.

then you have those who want to support the president. he's the ultimate party leader, but who might think executive orders amount to a political bully move. >> well, most part democrats are eager to see the president accomplish the things he ran op. if you're mary in louisiana, do we think it's better or worse to have the administration support increasing the minimum wage or do you think it's better to give an opportunity to the dreamer kids or what not? i think the fact of the matter is if the president can accomplish his agenda, that's a positive. look, yes, of course the house and if senate are not agreeing on much of anything these days. but you can hardly attribute the fact that there's no conference committees to president obama. that's not his job. he's not a members of congress. when he choose to go to congress and not by pass, he gets attacked for that. i think it's kind of a question where you stand is maybe a

usa. congrats. the u.s. men's hockey team getting one step close tore gold in sochi. we'll have the highlights coming up next. but first a fox news alert. we're on the lookout for the so-called loud music murder trial. a crowd of protesters there turning up outside the courthouse again today where 12 jurors are deciding the fate of a man, a florida man accused of gunning down this teenager here because he refused to turn down the music in his car. steve here gwan is live in our miami bureau with more. >> reporter: on day four of deliberations that 12 person jury is still struggling. they had more questions today for the judge, sending a note out this mark skz if they could consider each of the charges separately. the judge did instruct them to consider the charges separately.

michael dunn facing charges in addition of first degree murder of three counts of attempted murder. those charges carry a penalty of up to 20 years each. throughout the trial dunn insisted on self-defense. he claims that a shotgun was pointed at him from the car next to his. police never found that there was any evidence of a shotgun present. the prosecution said that dunn acted deliberately with premeditation. he fired 10 shots into the suv killing the 17-year-old. the final three shots were actually fired, the prosecution says, when that vehicle was pulling away. so the wait continues in jacksonville. four days in now, the jury still deliberating. apparently hung up on one of the charge against michael dunn. >> 17-year-old teenager, jordan davis. thank you, steve. the controversy over president obama awarding big

extreme weather alert. it seems that mother nature is not taking a snow day. a new storm is taking direct aim at the northeast right now. and this is of course on the heels of that monster storm that dumped over 20 inches in much of new england. >> new england is going to get it again and we're also seeing another clipper system across the med midwest. this storm is expected to strengthen within the next six to 12 hours and brings parts of massachusetts and maine blizzard conditions. there's what it looks like around 9:00 p.m. moving out of the new york city area. you're going to see snow in boston and maine nap's the area that's going to get the brunt of the storm as it strengthens offshore and eastern canada also preparing for a winter event.

we have weathered a vieries from pennsylvania up towards maine, winter weather warnings for the areas shaded in pink. and then in the red, that's blifr conditions, blifr warnings for parts of cape cod and the islands, up towards maine with gusts over 50 miles an hour. you can see this storm really strengthening by 10:00 p.m. tonight off the coast of cape cod and the islands and boston where you're going to get 8 inches of snow. but with the wind blowing things around it's going to be dangerous. greg, we were mentioning this early. today over six inches for you in ny c. that's the average. what we've gotten so far is 54 inches and for philadelphia your average is 15, over 54 inches there as well. i'm sure we would love to donate some of the snow impact to the west where they could use it.

friday said that the banks can take cash from marijuana related businesses but they've put up some red flags. they can only accept the cash as long as there's no evidence that the customer is using a pot business to launder money. also, businesses unrelated to pot depositing cash that smells like marijuana. so basically if the cash is whiffy, don't take it because that could get you into trouble. but the banks have no belief whatsoever this isn't going to prevent them from prosecution. and they say frankly these guidelines particularly when it comes to the handling of cash aren't heal. ful at all. take a listen. >> we've heard that before that third entities would not prosecute banks for a certain practice and then they turn an and do prosecute. so until we have clear guidance from other regulators it would

be highly reluck fant for the banks to participate in this new commerce. >> we had one official say, look, these guidelines don't protect or provide a safe harbor to banks that do take the cash. but on the other hand, that if they follow the guidelines that have been issued on friday, they possibly won't face prosecution should there be any problems down the line. bewildering for the banking industry. however some people are happy about that, that is the pot growers and lobbyists. they're saying we're a cash based business. this is dangerous. thank goodness the banks can take it. you know what? still no indication of whether the banks actually will a and now the banking industry is lobbying congress saying, come up with hard legislation to keep us safe. >> i'm sure you'll be on top of

kerry arriving in indonesia. putting the brakes on big labor unions in the south as employees at the volkswagen plant in chattanooga, tennessee just voted against joining the united auto workers. now that decision possibly dismantling the union's plan to organize in other countries across the company. mickey carlisle is with us. did they play their cards right and what does it mean for the future of uaw, especially at the other car plants in the south or for organized labor in general? >> it's a shot to the ego of some of the organizers. i don't believe this changes anything. there are 333,000 members of the uaw. this was only a plant with 1500

workers. this isn't critical to the existence of the uaw. ever since i've been around the unions have been trying to get a toe hold in the south and this is just one more time that the workers have rejected the unions. >> is that sort of a foreshadowing of what's to come down south regarding the auto plants? >> you look at tennessee tp and only 6% of the workers in tennessee are yuan niezed. i don't know why they choose that to be their battleground. i think there was a low probability of any success in getting that particular plant to convert to being a union plant. work councils are standard in germany. the chief executive of the plant there says volkswagen will continue to search for a method of establishing a works council. if the company was in favor of a union, uaw definitely in favor, why ultimately wit was rejected?

>> it's a vote of members. it's not the politicians, the owners of the auto plant or the uaw. it's was the workers. they decided that they're making sufficient wages and they have a voice with management, they like their jobs and didn't feel like they needed a union representation. the purpose of union is to give workers a voice. and these workers exercise their voice and they we don't need to union here. >> so then let's go here, then. do you foresee any way down the road that this would props be problematic for workers? because, as you said, these unions are established initially to protect the works' rights. >> i think especially in the right to work states in the south, that there's a general mistrust of unions. and you know, a lot of workers blame the unions for some of the things that have happened in detroit. and especially when the auto makers had all of their financial troubles. so this is just -- you know, these plants are moved to tennessee to get away from the

unions and i don't think that they're going to be able to yuan ni unionize them. >> we want to break it down into two sub categories. you touch on one which is politics. so how does this move reflect the power of politics and what does it say about the power of the people, you know the actual workers, mickey? >> i think it's just the voice of the workers. you know, the person who attaches the hood to a new car isn't really interested in what the senator has to say or the threats they make or that union has the objective of trying to unionize more plants. they care about their families and how their job is and these workers said we're comfortable in our jobs and we don't really need the unions here so we don't see any reason to pay union dues. i think -- >> go ahead. >> i'm sorry? >> pardon me. continue. >> and i think it's a little bit of grand standing not only with

iran lately has been destabilizing many sunni regimes in iraq. there's the battle in syria, spilling over, but also throughout the arab spring, so they see a broader threat than just the technicalities of a nuclear program. >> some would argue steven, a perceivable bad deal is better than no deal at all. but that one constant that can't be extracted from this equation and that's distrust. can countries like iran or north korea be trusted to followthrough on any deal that might be reached? >> history would suggest that they can't be trusted. but we have had effective negotiations in the past with governments we didn't trust. the highest profile example, this would have been during the reagan administration, at the same time negotiating arms control. there are ways this can be done, but we have to have a serious purpose about deterring in case of failure diplomacy.
