cry. >> i want to go do college, i want to be able to have a good life. it makes me worry, how am i going to be successful? how am i going to be able to provide for my family? i worry about that every day? >> those stories are heart wrenching, as the film went on, i found myself screaming at the television like you liberals do me, because the only solutions they offer to fix the problem, the same old liberal talking points. let me give you an example. >> if capitalism is not regulated or checked, there's a harsh logic and it will always seek out the lowest costs, highest return. we've reduced taxes, and now people are more vulnerable. my job is to communicate to people the absolute moral imperative during these times of using public resources to maintain the safety net. >> there's a shred of truth to

the idea that the richer the rich got, the better everyone else would be, and the more jobs we would see. everyone would be drowning in jobs. it's absolutely not true. >> the united states of decline, america unravels at an increasingly dizzying pace. also the co-host of the five, dana perino. let me explain this film. i'm sitting here, we know the statistics, we have 50 million americans on food stamps, a labor participation rate, the lowest level since 1978, i'm watching this film and i seymours with kids going into shelters because that's where they have to stay. i see a young couple lose their job, they don't have -- they lose their electricity. they finally get it put on because of assistance, they're putting the light on and off because they're so happy. something is wrong in this america where the numbers, the

92 million and 50 million, every person, every light, all those suffering, and i argue, dana, needlessly, we can do better. >> certainly we can do better. in any system, in a capitalist system, you are going to have people who don't make as much as others, depending on work. the thing that bothered me is the child who said he's anguished and worries every day how he will provide for his own family, which is 20 years down the road. the financial insecurity people are feeling is permeating all the way down to someone who is 10 or 11 years old. you shouldn't worry about things like that when you're that will age. >> we don't drill on government land. leases are down 50%. how many jobs could we create tomorrow, stewart? >> if you liberate the energy resources that america has under its -- under our own turf, you liberate that, you produce real economic growth and you go a long way toward changing the

mood of america. president obama has fundamentally shifted the mood of america, and the kind of society we are. we have become collectivists. it's not your fault if you're down in the dumps, you need government help. we are collectivists. that's what we've become. it's only a short term thing, you could reverse this very quickly, with real economic growth. >> let me just -- we can't drill, and we have more energy than the entire middle east combined. because he reduced leases 50%. government sub sid i dids creates a disincentive for hiring to the tune of $3 opini3 million jobs. maybe you're right, maybe -- are we in decline? is this country declining? >> when i wrote this article, i sat down and came up with one example after another after another and got depressed as i wrote this article, but i found lots of evidence of how we're sliding downward. we used to be in the top three

for economic growth. we see things slowing down, it's completely unnecessary. we are the number one corporate tax in the world. if we were to cut our corporate taxes 25%, a lot of companies would pack up and leave the united states and stay here. we eliminate the corporate tax, money would pour into this country. i watched this clip and it looked like a campaign clip for obama '08 or something. >> both stewart and dana are both very good friends of mine, and both ganged up on me last week, i'm mad at the republicans. i want to read the last paragraph, the american people have been betrayed both by obama, the democrats, whose lust for control intensifies every day, and republican leaders whose cowardice and defeatism has turned their guts and spines into tapioca, which is great writing, by the way. >> thank you. great flair. >> i'm mad the republicans aren't doing anything. both of you thought i was wrong

that they didn't fight -- >> no, they are doing something. >> help me. >> they are positioning themselves to win back the senate in 2014 so they can attack some of these issues. >> the debt limit -- >> it was always going to be raised. the republicans are actually being smart. >> a health line and exchange? >> from obama? >> i don't think so. >> what i would have done is i would have added one amendment. said the bailout a 47 billion dollar bailout of the health insurance companies would be taken out, in exchange for that, we could increase the debt limit. maybe obama signs it, maybe he doesn't. let's make the democrats vote on this. they want to stand in front of the american public and say, we don't want to raise the debt limit. >> all i want to do is -- make that argument. >> we're in a rotten place right now. >> we're in a rotten place right now. i want to win politically. politics is the only way to

change america. >> listen, maybe you're right and i'm wrong, i'm not saying i have all the answers. i want to inspire a republican party that offers bold colored differences and i'm not seeing that. >> if you lose senate seats in kentucky and maybe another one, if you think can you win arkansas but you end up not winning it, you don't even have a -- you don't have a chance of the republicans taking back the senate. what that vote did was actually put further pressure on mitch mcconnell, unnecessarily, we're spending money to defend mitch mcconnell in kentucky, when we should be spending that money in red states that we can win. >> ultimately it may turn out harry reid says, we can win this way. but for god sakes, two or three days they can stand up, argue this, educate people -- maybe in the end -- >> just two weeks ago, people on the far right, the pundits were saying, even actually the liberal pundits were saying, this is not the time to do immigration, republicans should focus like a laser beam on obama

and obama's legacy. take a look at this. >> it isn't as if the only alternative was the monsterous stimulus versus nothing. he could have had tax cuts and deregulation, instead it was a gift to all kinds of democratic constituencies many and as a result, all this many spent, fdr left behind the hoover dam. ike left behind the interstate highway system. this thing as predicted hasn't left a trace in the sand. >> here with reaction and much more, dick morris, a roid yo talk show host in philly. how are you? >> good to be here. >> you have to love this line, except the ruins of the solyndra plan the. you talks a lot about getting bill clinton back to the center, and try angulation you're known for. i watch obama, and he always seems to cling to his cad

callism, he doesn't seem to have that flexibility or practicality or pragmatism of bill clinton. is this going to be his legacy? stubborn radicalism? >> yes, i think it is. you either believe he's a total incompetent, who could not bring jobs back and could not get the economy moving or you believe his efforts are malicious. i believe that obama is attempting to transform america from an employment based society to an entitlement based society. he's trying to take people from working for a living, spending long hours, advancing to waiting to open the mail for the new entitlement check. >> the thing is, when 50 million americans didn't work, the son of stimulus didn't work, we have the lowest labor participation

rate in -- since 1978 and 50 million americans on food stamps. >> i'm saying it worked. his goal in signing 15 million more americans on food staps, 10 million more on medicaid, 8 million more on unemployment insurance was precisely to make them dependent and fashion a permanent democratic political majority by making them dependent upon the government for their livelihood. >> this is what he wants? that's the transformation of america? >> i was talking today with my radio show with casey mull began, the economist who did a great service in pointing this out. he said, it's just like this in europe, where people say, i'm not going to work, because the benefits are too good. i'm not going to work the extra hours, because i'll lose money, i'll lose eligibility. the only issue is why it took americans so long to get around to this. >> i guess the question is, from

my perspective, this is a disaster, i look at the republicans and they are afraid of their own shadow, and they just wrote him a blank check. >> well, it's fortunate that it doesn't work. it's fortunate that not only is it moving the country in the wrong direction, but it doesn't work. had he just did the economy and the entitlements, i think we could never defeat him. he would have had a stranglehold on this country because of the entitlements. >> you think obama care did in his agenda? >> i think it flat out not working is overriding the other aspects of his agenda. >> he didn't fail, sean. this guy succeeded. >> it was always his intention, you think he purposely wanted to hurt the country? >> two parties -- >> transform to a dependency

welcome back to hannity, washington republicans once again caved to president obama. it's time to take a page from wisconsin governor scott walker and his state's staggering $1 billion projected surplus. governor walker joined me earlier to talk about his tough stand and the tough stand the gop needs to take in d.c. and elsewhere. governor, welcome back to the program. good to see you, sir. >> the republicans last week blank check to obama on the debt ceiling, obama himself went running for office, said $9 trillion was irresponsible and unpatriotic, why aren't the republicans in washington willing to do what you did? and i admire you for this? you put your entire career on the line, you had a $3.5 billion budget deficit. if we don't fix it, the kids in wisconsin are going to have to pay it. now you have nearly a trillion dollars savings -- i'm sorry, nearly 900 million dollars, you got in savings, it's a massive turnaround.

economic and fiscal crisis like this nation faces today. i think that's why in america, the republicans who are doing well are governors, not just me in wisconsin, but other governors, look at rick scott in florida. the unemployment rate is down 5%. >> and look at governor -- we had governor perry on the program last week, he's going to have a 15 billion there's budget surplus in the state of texas, pretty amazing. so let me ask you -- and i don't want to put words in your mouth, i want to be fair, i use adjectives to describe republicans in washington. >> i think it's a fair comparison. if we want to win in 2014 and win in the future after that, we have to be optimistic and visionary. whether it's the governor, the united states senate house of representative. we have to speak in terms that are relevant to real people. not just about sequesters and fiscal cliffs.
