6:00 pm
this is mike huckabee from new york. good night, god bless and stay tuned for justice with judge jeanine. >> we will be joined by a lively studio audience. they will be analyzing the obama effect. in other words, how the president's policies brought this country to a tipping point. we begin with liberal constitutional professor jonathan turely who said it best on capitol hill on wednesday. >> the president has in fact exceeded his authority in a way that is creating a de stabilizing influence. the rate at which executive power is being concentrated in our system is accelerating. frankly, i am very alarmed by
6:01 pm
the implication of that aggregation of power. i believe we are now in a constitutional tipping point in our system. it is a dangerous point for our system to be in. i believe that your response has to begin before this president leaves office. no one in our system goes it alone. >> how has president obama over stepped authority and created in constitutional crisis? >> protecting amendment rights are vital to who we are. >> eric holder defended the controversial contraception mandate. >> if they refuse to violate their first amendment, refuse to violate their religious beliefs and refuse to pay the fines what consequences as an employer will bishop campbell face? >> after groups supportive of the tea party were harassed by the irs congress wants answers
6:02 pm
in action. >> somebody needs to be held responsible. someone needs to be imprisoned. someone needs to be prosecuted. >> over holder's claim to congress he had never been involved in any possible prosecution of a reporter. the attorney general himself signed off on labelling fox's james rosen a potential criminal co conspirator. >> that is a chilling action against the news media. >> now for a chilling story the federal government wants to know how and why the news media so select which stories they cover. >> who wants government deciding what is fair. >> they are going to do what the government wants. >> this administration is bent on aiming and tarrigeting those they don't like. >> we have studio audience in for reks a. how many think a tipping point
6:03 pm
the president over stepped his bounds. hands up high. you are a lawyer? how does that happen? the president can change the healthcare law on his own doesn't need to go to congress. why do we have congress? you asked a question are we at a tipping point. there are odds things that take place in the constitution on the subject of executive order. congress is given the power to do these things. it allows the president expansive opportunities for these circumstances. other issues -- rl>> 27 times we have changed obamacare. is that an emergency? >> in 2008 saying he opposed these executive orders he wanted a government by and for the people and wanted a transparent process. why did we have a revolution and get rid of king george if we have president obama just signing off. >> you are crossing the politics with the president.
6:04 pm
you are right politically it is a retreat. when you get to the legalities of it, so far he really hasn't come close t constitutional crisis. i am not saying it wasncouldn't happen. >> i disagree. it is disgraceful the president of the united states is giving speeches saying if congress won't do this through the democratic process i am going to do it. >> i am president i can do whatever i want. >> i see tea party individuals and other political events people are tired of the run away government we are under. nsa spying on us irs intimidating people. america is tired of this. >> what about republicans monica crowley they have the power first they don't seem willing to take the president on for example he is changing laws or says he is not going to enforce the immigration law and then of course targeting conservatives. >> there are a few strong voices
6:05 pm
but they are few and far between. i am not so sure the republican leadership understands what they are up against here with this president. this is not your father's or grandfather's democrat and barack obama and nancy pelosi and harry reid. this is a different ball of wax. what they plan to do fundamentally transform the country transform the nature of the american character and american democratic process. i am not sure republicans understand what they are dealing with here and if they do they are not willing to take it on. >> i think they understand all of these things but they are afraid to take them on for fear of a backlash. >> we don't have a select committee on benghazi. we don't have one on the irs these are real scandals but they have faded away.
6:06 pm
they have only one policy which is bankrupt. let himself destruct don't have a positive agenda. >> i am disappointed the republicans don't have a positive vision agenda that says if you elect us we will do 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. >> the violations he's making he is over stepping his bounds like the issue of the amendment violation delaying mandates left and right, obamacare is put into place and then he illegally violates the law he helped pass. on top of that we can't believe a word he says. those things go together. you get to keep your doctor, your insurance. this is going to save you money. >> why do the american people take it? >> i don't know why they take it. >> go ahead. >> alternative reason for why you are not seeing this in the paper. i wrote a article i quoted a
6:07 pm
senior domestic policy saying if the congress doesn't get this stuff done the president will. you know whose advisor it was ronald wilson reagan. >> i was in the nixon administration the last time we were accused of have being an imperial president she. >> she was 12 years old. >> the difference is the media was in a different place. the media took seriously the job as the watchdog of liberty. the president does whatever he wants the media are like trained seals at the zoo applauding everything he does. >> point out historically presidents have had a very adversarial relationship and tried to curtail freedoms and see where there is wiggle room to keep things as private as possible and control things as much as they can. why people don't care they see
6:08 pm
people don't -- politicians in washington don't hear their voice. there are few public servants and monica mentioned some that are in it for the people. we need to elect more. >> the republicans seem to have ma i had a decision generally speaking with the exceptions monica mentioned they made the decision doesn't rock the boat. >> they want power. >> they are as bad as the democrats? >> some are. absolutely. >> i don't know about politics but i know philosophy and ideology matters. i don't believe president obama is the devil. you can crucify me for that later. >> headlines, he is not the devil. >> what i am concerned about is ideology and philosophy basic moral jewish muslim. for example life. can i tell you one simple
6:09 pm
example, the bishops of the united states of america had one of the greatest programs for helping women who are being trafficked. you know what the health and human services did? they said we are going to take away all of your money but it's for a good reason. the reason is even though you have been the most successful group in stopping trafficking for women you are not offering them abortions. you know what, all federal funding is gone. that is the ideology and philosophy that transformed the nature of our country. >> predfreedom of religion, then spin this however they want insurance is paying for it but it is catholic charities and hospitals, right? >> for example in boston they are no longer in the business and the service and ministry of adoption. why? is because unless they send children to gay couples, they no longer get any of the services.
6:10 pm
washington, d.c. the same thing. that is a fundamental change in the way the united states of america operates as a country. >> we will take a break and come back and continue. coming up next on "hannity"." >> i am not driven by change or circumstances it is driven by budge t budget. rather spend money on food stamps rather than strong military or support for our troops. >> the former vice president wasn't the only one to gdecisio to cut the military. that's coming up after the break and more on this special edition of "hannity." ...and a choice. take 4 advil in a day which is 2 aleve... ...for all day relief.
