. thank you for joining us, everybody, this is "the kelly file file". inmarsat and the aaib have conclusi concluded that mh 370 flew along the southern corridor and that its last position was in the middle of the indian ocean west of perth. according to this new data flight mh 370 ended in the

southern indian ocean. >> all right, what new data? what analysis? now, that was the malaysian prime minister indicating earlier today that the missing flight 370 plunged into the indian ocean off the southwestern coast of australia, he says no one survived. joining me for the latest information on the debris, dan murphy, he says new data, new analysis, what does he base this on? >> well, it is very interesting, sean, leghello, to you. this is of course, the news the world has been waiting for. but of course how and why this plane crashed into the ocean remains a mystery. now, today, investigators will continue to search the area where this plane is. it is believed to have crashed into the ocean some 2 and a half kilometers off the coast of perth. what we do know is that there

were two incidents, first and foremost, a chinese sea plane described what was suspicious objects in the search zone. and then of course, the crew of the p-3 orion located two objects described as gray or grain in a circular object, and orange, rescue tank georgi obje britain's inmarsat gave information that gave the malaysian authorities the confidence to say yes this plane has indeed crashed in this vicinity. so the australian naval ship is en route, and will join in the search to find the wreckage. we have the u.s. ship, pfo for n

as well. dan, gray, green, that hardly seems definitive, while we hope they find the plane, loved ones, definitive, that doesn't sound very definitive. >> absolutely, look, it is very ambiguous, these descriptions, i can tell you an interesting experience yesterday when the captain arrived to a media briefing. as the plane landed on the tarmac, the captain came up to the media and then one of his advisers informed us he wouldn't be able to speak purely because he needed to go to a briefing immediately. there seems to be miscommunication and also situations changing very quickly in regards to the search. and also as you mentioned we did see some very hysterical family members when they were told of this news. so obviously, authorities just clearly expressing caution on

both ends of the globe here. >> and in sky news, australia, thank you for this report tonight, dan, appreciate it. and while the search continues off the coast of perth, rain, poor weather conditions have been slowing down. joining me for the very latest, from the fox news weather service, janice dean tonight, what do you have? >> well, sean, this is a very remote area in the southern indian ocean where we don't have a lot of land to break up these storm systems. i also want to point out we have a cyclone, with winds of 140 miles per hour. the good news is the storm is going to weaken and we don't think it will affect search crews. however, we do have a lot of weather systems, getting into the fall. we have these weather systems moving eastward, and again no land to break it up. so we could see high surf and waves as well as very strong winds, this is our gsf model forecast, we don't have our

buoys out here to give us information we typically like to see. so we go by satellite and we do have the potential for more rain and wind across the region over the next 24 to 48 hours. the good news is as we get into the latter part of the work week, remember we're 12 hours ahead of eastern time. we get into the clear weather, which is not typical of what you see this time of year. so they will have several days to assess perhaps if this is the debris from the missing plane. and as you can see this is our forecast wind gusts, still a little volatile. 30 or 40 miles per hour winds. friday and saturday, a break in the weather is what they really need to see. now, on top of the weather conditions we have the ocean currents very strong water, sort of like a conveyer belt of water in this counterclockwise pattern. and then we have eddys that can

be like little whirl pools and really scatter anything in this area, so they're the best in the business out there but they have a lot to work with, in terms of weather. >> hey, janice, let me ask you this, it seems like the current moves in a circular direction, but more importantly i have heard that the swells in that area can be as big as 30 to 40 feet, relatively small at six to eight feet, is that true? >> yeah, absolutely, i mean, this area of the world is very volatile, there is no land mass to break these systems up. and this is very strong ocean current. again, it goes very, very deep. and it is like a conveyer belt of water. ships actually use these ocean currents to save on fuel to make them go faster. so again, an area that is almost inaccessible for a lot of folks. so you really have to be trained by ship or by plane, of course,

our hearts and prayers are out to all of those who are working in the search. >> all right, janice, thank you so much from the fox weather center, joining me now at the hannity big board on the newest search in the search area, changing as former adviser to the u.k.'s ministry of defense, good to see you sir. you know, for the prime minister to come out and say so definitively, it went down, and we're sure about it. and what is the new information, the gray, or green object, it is suspicious. it may be here or here. was that too early to making the call? >> well, let's look at the information. let's look at what the inmarsat information means that the prime minister was actually talking about. there is the inmarsat satellite, it is positioned in that area and doesn't move. what we have is the last known position of the aircraft. >> in space, so this is the inmarsat satellite, unlike the

satellites that go around and around, this is geo-stationary. it is locked in the indian ocean. this is the aircraft that uses the acars, now what that does it talk to the inmarsat. when it is a certain amount of miles it automatically defaults to sat com. like, for example, your wi-fi, it automatically locks onto verizon, that is the way it works. we know it was turned off. however, despite the fact it was turned out this satellite will send a little hand shake every hour to say hey, you're still awake? it will get information back saying yes, i'm still here. >> that is the ping? >> yes. >> that is the plane trying to send communication data as it relates to the engine's performance? things like that? >> yes, in normal accounts, but remember it was turned off.

so what this is doing is just shaking its hand to make sure it is awake, sending out a response signal, this is unique to this particular investigation, they have used the space equals distance time equation, they know what time they got a response back, all they are doing is using distance equals speed times time, and dividing it by two and they can get a distance. and what they have done is for every five pings they have got a distance of where they think it is. >> so this is where we go to the 1500 miles, which it may have drift eed otherwise, but that i why it is focused here. >> exactly, that is how they came to the exclusion. >> what about the green and gray object that s that the chinese n the satellite? >> this is the area we're talking about, these are the objects spotted by the aircraft and these are the objects

spotted by the satellite. and these are higher resolution. what happened we have the poseidon, the equipment that came out. it is a freighter and a couple of pods of dolphins that were spotted. there is nothing conclusive. but the evidence that we have had today, sean, is good. and what happened is, for -- the australian p-3, and others in the area getting eyes on to what they see is objects. we don't know what it is yet. but again, it is more positive information. >> so you think we're actually getting closer. but i go back to my original question, why would the prime minister of malaysia make this definitive information based on obscure facts, it is conjecture, isn't it? >> it is conjecture, i do agree with you. we have to be very careful, it

really is sensitive information. >> i'm a little angry because they have botched this up from the beginning, they have not been forthcoming, they sent out conflicting information. and contradicted themselves from the beginning, for him to make that statement seems to be a little premature. >> i have been involved in two boards of inquiry, as you know, i think historically the boards of inquiry have been very private affairs. and they haven't had to respond to a 24-hour news cycle. we saw in the asiana situation, what the ntsb did was revolutionary really, it doesn't usually happen like that. i don't think that this part of the world have caught up with that demand from the 24 -- hour news cycle. >> but he made a declaration today that he was not prepared to make. i don't think the evidence supports what he made. even by his own words, gray, green, obscure, suspicious, but yet he told all the families the

plane went down definitively in the ocean and everybody died. >> well, look, it may be a little premature, but let's go to the next slide very quickly. we have got some of the most sophisticated assets out there at the moment. we have the p-3 orion, we have this chinese aircraft, this is the p-8, the premium up surveillance aircraft. and they all have very sophisticated equipment. there are limitations to technology and what has been spotted so far has been from the human eye. janice already spoke to the conditions, you spoke to the conditions, the sea states are pretty horrific in terms of identifying somebody. so these aircraft are going to have to be on top of any objects they can see before they get a visual id on something. it is extremely difficult. >> the pentagon announced they are sending a toad ping locate er, u.s. navy, they're sending their autonomous vehicle, do you

know much about that? >> that is not my area of expertise, i spoke to a few sources, so what i do know is it is very slow, accurate, but takes a lot of time. >> and literally combs the bottom using sonaell me which is best to use in this case? >> you know, i think they all bring their own unique capabilities. we talked about this constraint. this has an endurance of 13 hours, five hours to get out to the site, five hours back, you only have minimum loiter time. this travels at high altitude, it can get out there. but still, you have relatively limited time on station. and look, sean, when the cloud base is down at 200 feet, the rain is falling, the visibility within 200 kilometers -- >> you go back to the original map that we have.

and when we would go out 1500 feet, i mean, it is we're talking about a small area of a vast ocean that literally is beyond the needle in a hay stack, but i have to wrong, michael you're going to stay with us. we'll bring in the former deputy minister tom blaine, tom, your thoughts about this specifically, was this a premium statement? >> well, sean, it could have been. the malaysians have very little credibility. they're ill prepared to handle a situation like this. what we know is that their military radar gave questionable information. they gathered poor data from the aircraft itself. they don't have any satellite capability. they depend on other countries to provide them with data. and then they're slow on analysis, i think they have been slow to respond on the security side, so we shouldn't take any anything that they represent at face value unfortunately. >> what about the report that came out over the weekend that

they had highly flammable material on this plane? >> well, that is entirely possible. in the u.s., you can fly lithium batteries packaged onto -- you can't fly it onto packaged material. they consider it too dangerous. in some areas they allow it. malaysia does allow it. the problem you would be concerned about is whether or not they were forged or mismanufactured or fraudulent mis-manufactured that would make them far morning dangeroe dange cargo hold. and we don't know what was in the cargo hold, there from the malaysian government at this point. >> let's go back to some of the anythi things, how important is it we get the black box? because from my perspective that is very key. i am still subjective that this was a hijacking or a pilot

taking this plane down or running rogue. there is something that we need to know. would you agree that finding this needs to be a top priority? >> that certainly has to be a top priority, because from that is what we'll learn to prevent the next incident. but i'll tell you, i think that more needs to be done right now with regard to personnel on board the plane. i don't think they have been adequately checked out. i want to know more about the cargo. and there is a variety of other things that could be done in terms of basic security. let me give you an example. kuala lumpur is known to have very poor perimeter security. i am not confident there was not stowaways on board that aircraft. so there may have been more than 239 people on board, and given the security at kuala lumpur, that is something that should be looked into. >> well stated. thank you for joining us, we'll have much more on the search throughout the hour, plus, why

been lost and that none of those on board have survived. as you will hear in the next hour from malaysia's prime minister, we must all accept that the plane went down in the indian ocean. after two agonizing weeks of mis-information, is that not heartbreaking that the families received this news that they were gone? fox news aviation analyst kathleen bangs, and still at the board over there, michael kay. really? we have a green thing or gray thing, now we make it definitive. >> it seemed a little cold-hearted. i have to say, when a ship or when an airplane is gone really i think the term they might have wanted to use is presumed lost. that all souls on board are presumed lost. >> but look, it is probably likely. i don't disagree. >> highly likely. >> give me some evidence, give me one flotation device.

>> we may never get that. and they're trying to give the families the time to move on, to begin the grieving process. i think that is really -- >> they're already grieving. their family has been gone into into the third week. >> they have the trace, they have the piece of the puzzle up on the ship, he is making this announcement. talk about premature. it sounded like he just wanted to close the book on this thing in a 2 minute and 30 second analysis. >> after they have gotten facts wrong, contradicted themselves, and been proven wrong on multiple occasions. all right, kathleen, you made a did point. you were looking into the financials. >> last year was very profitable for most of the airlines, only a few were unprofitable, malaysia airlines has been third from the bottom. they are $1.2 billion in debt. the reason i bring it up, if a company starts to lose money

sometimes where they give to cut costs? >> maintenance, you agree with that. >> i agree with that, they did not subscribe to the entire acars situation, they made sure they saved money on those things. >> michael, i would argue after this incident we have to learn to at least be able to track any airplane in the sky at one point in time. is that one of the things we learned today here? >> yeah, i already think that system is in process, sean, there is a realization that that tracking needs to get better. and procedures put in place, with the western airlines what i think it will do is expedite that process. >> i think it has to be airlines outside of the area. >> absolutely, transition down to the other airlines. >> all right, any new facts this weekend about what changed your opinion about what happened?

>> yes, to reinforce my opinion that it was mechanical, where they said, to reinforce, they say the last message went out at 1:07 a.m., everything was planned, the way points division was in there. they're retracting on what they said. >> we heard there were round objects in the ocean, that is significant, shipping doesn't typically have round objects. we haven't had a picture of it. we're told the p-3 actually saw it. we never got a picture of it. i want to see a picture. all right, still ahead tonight, will he run? we'll check in with texas governor rick perry in studio tonight. that very question as he joins us here. but first, new fears that an all-out war could erupt in ukraine, and guess who harry reid is blaming for the escalating crisis? republicans. we have those controversial remarks next.

this is a fox news alert, the united states and its allies announced today they would exclude russia from the g 8 meeting and boycott sochi this summer. now, they are raising concerns of the possibility that vladimir putin is planning on storming another base. the troops are now withdrawing from the former ukrainian peninsula, president obama arrived in the netherlands for a two-day summit. joining me now, fox's own ed henry, traveling with the president tonight. welcome back. ed. >> good evening, sean, some ominous signs in ukraine, close

by where the president will be sleeping tonight along with the european leaders gathering for the summit. you have 20,000 or more russian troops massing along the ukrainian border. you also have signs from the ukrainian foreign minister, he believes this could be an all-out war that the russians could be taking more than just crimea. the governor gathered on the side lines of the summit here. and made the case that u.s. sanctions so far are really putting pressure on russian economy, while his old rival, mitt romney, answered that he is being naive. >> his faulty judgment about russia's intentions and objectives has led to a number of foreign policy challenges that we face. >> now, you memo -- mentioned one move that the g 7 made,
