♪>> good morning to you and your family. you are watching "fox & friends first". i am ainsley hair heaearhardt. >> i am heather childers. they are breaking promise days before the march 31st enrollment deadline. >> the reason for this and what it means for you. >> we knew it was probably going to happen. there was reasons they might delay the onset of the individual mandate which is something republicans have been calling for for some time and the white house has been resisting. here's what we heard from the department of health and human services. we are experiencing a surge in demand but are making sure we will be ready to help consumers who may be in line by the deadline to complete enrollments either on-line or over the phone. the deadline is march 31st.

there has been a lot of concerns within the administration they would not meet their enrollment target which was 7 million then scaled back 6 million. we also heard 5 million. the real question is the demographics. are there enough young people to make this system work. as far as the delay in the individual mandate is concerned, the timing a little bit of a surprise. two weeks ago from the department of human health and services kathleen sebelius was. >> are you going to delay the mandate that individuals have to buy government approved healthcare or pay tax? >> no, sir. >> are you going to delay the open enrollment beyond march 31st? >> no, sir. >> denying again and again this would happen but here we are with the administration facing reality. now we don't know how long this delay is going to last. we understand it will be based on the honor system. if you have trouble with the web

site you attest to that and you are given some amount of extra time. doug luzader live in washington. thank you. new this morning the death toll is climbing in the devastating mud slide in washington. as many as 24 people now dead. crews are battling treacherous conditions searching through quick sand like mud and debris. we have this dramatic new video take a look from a rescue helicopter. it shows the moment the crews pulled a 4-year-old boy from the mud. the boy is now out of the hospital and he is with his mother. his father and three siblings, they are still missing along with dozens of others. >> overnight planes resuming their shirt for the missing malaysian jet. also new this morning investigators are looking into a

missile launched and this time with longer range missiles. two medium range missiles a troubling and provocative escalation. it was apparently time to coincide with president obama meeting with south korea's president in the hague. this comes in the heels of two other missile launches in the last four weeks. >> the northeast getting snow some areas up to a foot. maria molina is life with your forecast this morning. >> good morning heather and ainsley. several areas lucked out with the storm system. it took a track further out into the ocean so it kept a lot of the heavy snow totals further east along the coastal areas. i want to take you to new england. this is one area expecting a lot of snowfall in the storm system. in massachusetts we have the very strong winds with the storm

and also heavy snowfall across the region. up to a foot of snow is possible across the tape and in maine. you can see yesterday over the past 12-hours we picked up snow across parts of the mid atlantic and out there there are reports of more than 6 inches of snow. we will have the snow totals coming up later in the show. you can see the radar the snow moving into parts of the cape and approaching the state of maine. it combusts up to 50 miles possible there is a chance we could see gusts 60 miles an hour. this is a concern 8-12 inches expected across the regions. temperature wise behind the storms very cold feeling like january out there. take a look at the great lakes zero degrees in marquette and feels like 2 in buffalo new york. >> thanks so much. stay warm.

building. yam pomeran tried to force their way past security and they were taken into custody. they are charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct. you may remember just last week 16-year-old justice not only got in he made it all of the way to the top of the freedom tower. the fiery car crash that killed actor paul walker is caused by speed not mechanical problems. investigators say the force sharing the staff traveling 90 miles per hour it lost control before hitting a light pole and going up into flames. walker's friends behind the wheel at that time also died in the accident. country sweetheart taylor swift sending a strong message to her stalker. >> singer getting a restraining order saying he was married to

>> good morning heather and ainsley. we really lucked out here. the storm track far enough away from the coast where we picked up about a flurry here in the november yiet hoovernight hours. it is in parts of virginia and west virginia. we have snow coming down heavily across massachusetts and also other areas across the tape and now it is starting to move into sections here. we have strong winds. the snow already moving into parts of the cape and off to the state of maine. the wind is a big issue with this storm system. wind gusts approaching 50 miles per hour at the cape right now. you can see winds gusting in the upper 20's in jfk in the 30's in the city of boston. that's why we have blizzard warnings in effect for main and massachusetts because of the strong winds expected to exceed 50 miles per hour and locally up to a foot of snow. west of the storm system very cold. take a look at the windchill temperatures. feels like 7 below in marquette,

four in minneapolis, 2 in buffalo and current windchill 8 degrees in caribou. newlywed pleaded guilty to pushing their husband off of a cliff wants to take it back. as jordan gram is supposed to be sentenced tomorrow for second degree murder. she wants to withdraw the plea because prosecutors are recommending life in prison even though 2nd degree murder. her lawyers are recommending 10 years behind bars saying she accidentally killed her husband cody johnson 8 days after they were married. >> iowa democratic representative and senate candidate bruce gray lee is taking some heat today after this video surfaced of him bashing senator charles grassley and his qualifications.
