>> looking at new york city on this thursday morning. congratulations it's the tail end of the workweek. good morning. you are watching "fox & friends first" on this thursday. >> i am ainsley earhardt. >> i am heather childers. thank you for starting your day with us. we begin with this fox news alert. a quiet school day in pennsylvania quickly turning into chaos five minutes of terror as a student goes on a rampage inside his high school. >> that teenager now charged as an adult in the stabbings of more than a dozen fellow classmates. this morning stories now of heroism are emerging. >> marianne rafferty joins us with the latest. >> do we know anything about the motive? >> police are still trying to figure this out. several students are saying the sophomore was constantly bullied. they are investigating a phone call the suspect made threatening an upper class man.

after his suv crashed into another car sending the second car careening into the daycare. 12 of the people injured are children. scared to death. petrified. he's my first child, so it was extremely hard for me to kind of process everything. >> police are monitoring orlando international airport fearing he might try to leave the country>> new this morning the 5th person in the brutal heal >> he was attacked by a mob of men after stopping to at the present the 10-year-old he hit after the boy stepped into traffic. three others have been charged and a 16-year-old remains in custody. while police decide whether to charge him as an adult. more arrests they are likely. >> moments ago prosecutors

a close. five former bell city council members will be sentenced for misappropriating funds. they are accused of stealing 10 million from the city to increase their salaries. the city was left nearly bankrupt as a result. they each face 40 years in prison and will have to pay restitution. >> malaysian airlines flight 370 will be found within days. >> no new pings have been picked up in nearly a day. there seems to be good news. the search zone is finally shrinking. david piper is here with the latest on the long and gruelling search. good morning, david. >> no break through on missing plane but the australian officials are optimistic. the search area has narrowed now. it is about 22,000 square miles. they are focusing on this area, this is where search team -- search teams believe they found

the black boxes. they have picked up four signals in the area using a pinger locator on sunday and again twice on tuesday. they haven't found the signals again since then and the last signals were noticeably weaker than the first ones. australian air force plane has been dropping with hydro phone listening devices into the water to try to pick up signals. nevertheless australia's air chief marshall says he's optimistic they will find what's left of the aircraft in the not too distant future. australian officials want as much as possible from the signals before they send down submersible rockets to serve for wreckage on the floor. the black boxes will be running out any time soon. >> against the clock here. david piper thanks so much live for us in bangkok, thailand. >> one of the followers on twitter just tweeted us it is

welcome back. time now for a look at who's talking. and this morning, we are hearing it from a nevada rancher battling against the federal government. clive and the feds are fighting over his cattle grazing on public land overseen by the bureau of land management. as of monday, authorities confiscated 134 of his cattle as part of a two decade long dispute over grazing fees. they claim he's illegally running cattle in the 6,000 acre area, habitat of the federally protected desert. >> what i do is i -- my livestock eats off the brush and the grass, harvests it, prunes it, and it eases that forage to make an edible commodity for we, the people, of the united states. when you get a piece of meat on your table, remember where it
