8:30 am
because i think corporate profit growth is slowing. >> coming back. >> i'm not sure the entire market will be taken down with it. >> heed the wisdom of these folks. that's it for forbes on fox. keep it right here. the number one business block continues with cashing in. donald, rand, and sarah, they're all here fired up and ready to bring america back from the blink of liberal progressive failure. if you love your country and your freedom, pull up a chair and put down that remote. we're talking, life, liberty, and the pursuit of conservative values. i'm eric bolling. we begin today with a headliner of this week's freedom summit. the one, the only, the donald. >> all right mr. trump, the freedom summit. we're having a little freedom summit of our own. to get america back on track, what do we need? what does donald trump think we
8:31 am
need to do? >> leadership. it's simple. we don't have leadership. we don't have a good leader at the top. we're being scoffed at all over the world. look at putin. he is doing numbers like nobody has done in a long while and it's very sad. but what you need more than anything else is leadership. >> who would be the leader? president obama is going to leave. what's the right leadership? who is the right person? >> you're going to see. first of all you have the elections coming up which are going to be very interesting and november is going to be a very interesting month because i think the republicans really have a good chance at taking the senate. it's going to be interest. it's not going to be that easy but if they play obamacare and it's such a disaster, i think they'll win and win easily. >> which one. >> after that -- >> you mean the senate. >> yeah, the senate. i think the republicans will take the senate and i think they'll take it more easily than a lot of people are thinking and we'll see what happens but a lot of that is going to be because
8:32 am
of what happened with obamacare and i think because of the lack of respect that the country gets. the voters are seeing that and after that we'll see what happens. >> that's where i want to get to. of the gop, who is the leader? is there a leader? >> well, i know them all and it doesn't matter how the leader s. because it's 2 1/2 years. it's irrelevant right now because we see the leaders and all of a sudden they're gone but you have a lot of good running and it's going to be interesting and you have some you don't know are running and we'll see what happens with them. >> you're headlining the freedom summit with a couple of maybe leaders ted cruz and rand paul. i assume they're probably in that group. you mentioned obamacare. the new issue of the new yorker magazine, the cover has president obama the adult spoon feeding the gop and he has mitch mcconnell taking his medicine and michelle bauchmann.
8:33 am
>> i think it's a sad cover. not so by the way but a very sad cover. pu think about it he has gotten his way because he has gotten obamacare. they have made so many illegal changes to obamacare to help it along. it's still going to fall on its own weight because people are going wild with this thing. they're having nothing but problems and businesses are going out of business. so it's going to fall at some point. but if you think about it, he has gotten it through amazingly. but i thought the cover was very demeaning. >> should the gop take their medicine? >> well, i think gop should just be fighting it strongly and if they get the senate and the presidency which would be a big help, then i believe it ends. i think obamacare would end and i think you get a better plan for far less money. >> so we talked a little bit about this before the interview. i want to throw some names at you. give me one quick thought about the name now and ask the question behind. so let's start with barrack obama. >> you have to give him credit. he became president of the
8:34 am
united states but it hasn't worked out. it hasn't been good for the country and the country is not doing well. >> okay. so here we are middle of april. is it time to declare the obama presidency lame duck? can we move on now? >> it's getting to be lame duck. that's not because of him. it's at that point where it's getting to me. he will try and get out there and now he's trying to cause trouble with women and this group and that group and every group he can and let's see what happens and let's see how the republicans handle it. but you have to give him credit in one sense but in the other sense he has not been the president that we were all hoping we would have. >> very good. next name, hilary clinton. >> know her very well and it will be very interesting to see whether or not she runs. i know her husband -- in fact, her husband was on one of the shows. he said i like donald trump and he's a good golfer. i can't knock that. i know them both very well and i like hilary. i have always liked hilary and we have to see what they are going to be doing.
8:35 am
i won't comment on how she did at secretary of state because it's irrelevant right now. but i will tell you that i have known her for a long time. >> a good friend of mine, probably friend of yours as well says it's in the clinton's dna to run for president. >> i agree. i think she'll be running. lots of things can happen to anybody. it's a long time. it's 2 1/2 years but i would say she would definitely be running. >> next name, jeb bush. i didn't like his -- i like him, but i didn't like his last statement about people are breaking the law and coming in and immigration because of love. i thaw it was a very unusual statement and, you know, a country has to have boarders and you have to maintain those boarders and you have to maintain them strongly and you can't break the law and it wasn't love, it was lots of other reasons. but they did and i was very surprised at his statement. i didn't like his statement. >> and the question about jeb bush, did his act of love,
8:36 am
illegals can say he called it an act of love. did that ruin his chances for 2016? >> it didn't help. a lot of people are very s'up s -- upset. i thought is he being serious here? i didn't understand what he was doing and he's being true to himself. you have to be true to yourself. you can't say a lot of thing ifs you're not believing it. he is being true to himself but i thought it was an incorrect statement. >> next name, chris christie. know him very well. he's a friend of mine. and he was up in my office recently and, you know, i like him so much. >> that's it. >> well, we have to see how it all comes out. >> the question about christie, is bridgegate in his rear-view mirror? >> well, you don't know. i had a very honest talk with him. he has this problem and it's a cloud and he's a great guy. and again i know him very well and it's going to be very interesting to see. they have a lot of different
8:37 am
people looking at a lot of differ things. what are all of these people going to say when it's their time to be speaking? i hope he's going to be okay. i think he's going to be okay. but i hope he's going to be okay. >> all right. last nigame. vladimir putin. >> he's done an amazing job of taking the mantle. and so smart when you see the riots in the country because they're hurting the russians. okay, we'll go and take them over. he has really gone step by step by step. and you have to give him a lot of credit. interestingly on the ms. universe pageant, we just left moscow. he couldn't have been nicer. he was so nice and everything. you have to give him credit in what he is doing for that country is very strong. >> who is the better leader. president obama or president putin. >> it's not even a contest. obama can maybe come back and maybe something happens but so far he has played obama like a fiddle. >> so tell me a little bit about
8:38 am
celebrity apprentice. i hear a friend of mine may be involved in that. >> he is involved. he is doing a great job thus far. and, you know, we haven't announced the cast but everybody knows the cast. this is the worst kept secret. >> worst kept secret since the white house. >> but he's in there and working hard. he has tremendous stamina. >> he's a bright guy. so if it wasn't going to be me, it should be him. >> it could be you. it will happen. >> one of these days. i hear there's rumors you bought a post office. >> well, we're going to be redeveloping what's called the old postoffice on pennsylvania avenue between congress and the white house. it's so incredible. and we start that work in about a month and it will be one of the great hotels of the world. it's an incredible building. it's about the tallest or one of the tallest buildings in washington because in the old days they didn't have zoning. so it's an amazing building. everybody wanted it and we got it. we're going to do a great job. >> thank you very much. >> thank you eric.
8:39 am
>> appreciate your time. >> thank you. >> your tweets are flooding in. freedom, liberty, patriotism. keep them coming. #cashinin. coming up, the freedom summit just getting started. we're going from the donald to the rand. from ft. hood shootings to the malaysian air mystery. senator paul's plan to keep america safe on the ground and in the air. [thinking] i'm still working. he's retired. i hope he's saving. i hope he saved enough. who matters most to you says the most about you. at massmutual we're owned by our policyowners, and they matter most to us. whether you're just starting your 401(k) or you are ready for retirement, we'll help you get there. how did i know? well, i didn't really. see, i figured low testosterone would decrease my sex drive... but when i started losing energy and became moody... that's when i had an honest conversation with my doctor.
8:40 am
we discussed all the symptoms... then he gave me some blood tests. showed it was low t. that's it. it was a number -- not just me. [ male announcer ] today, men with low t have androgel 1.62% testosterone gel. the #1 prescribed topical testosterone replacement therapy, increases testosterone when used daily. women and children should avoid contact with application sites. discontinue androgel and call your doctor if you see unexpected signs of early puberty in a child, or signs in a woman, which may include changes in body hair or a large increase in acne, possibly due to accidental exposure. men with breast cancer or who have or might have prostate cancer, and women who are or may become pregnant or are breastfeeding, should not use androgel. serious side effects include worsening of an enlarged prostate, possible increased risk of prostate cancer, lower sperm count, swelling of ankles, feet, or body, enlarged or painful breasts, problems breathing during sleep, and blood clots in the legs. tell your doctor about your medical conditions and medications, especially insulin, corticosteroids, or medicines to decrease blood clotting.
8:41 am
8:42 am
[ speaking foreign language ] >> families still grieving over the malaysian air mystery. now there may be help to prevent future tragedies in the sky. rand paul about to roll out a plan to keep americans safe when we fly. the senator joining us with the new news. what's your new plan? >> the thing about it is when you think back to 9/11 it was hijackings through a flimsy door. everybody remembers how flimsy the doors were on the jets protecting the cockpit.
8:43 am
we reinforce the doors and we decided we would arm our pilots. but over a ten-year period or 13 year period, less and less of our pilots are armed which is sad and disturbing to me because we made it too hard. it's a five-day course to get your certification and you have to renew by shooting every six months which is fine but you can't go to your local gun range. you have to travel out of state often to do your shooting. we made it too hard to keep up your credentials. so i meet pilots in the airport. i'm in the airport all the time. a pilot recently tells me i was in the military. i love guns. i hunt. i have guns at the house but i'm giving up on my certificate to carry it on the plane because they made it so hard on me to keep up my certification. >> so we have a new bill that will make it easier for them to get the certification and keep it. >> you also introduced new legislation about allowing military personnel to keep their
8:44 am
guns on military bases as well. is that right? >> to me, it's common sense. think about it, we trust these young men and women. they're probably more capable with a weapon than just about anybody in civilian society because they have been trained to use their weapon. so yes, with certain rules, i think you ought to be able to carry your weapon around the base because that's a deyou are the -- deturrent. the tragedy versus been at school where there's no guns and the teachers, no security, no guns. and also on military bases where very few people, maybe 100,000 people could be on the base and maybe 30 or 40 people have guns at the entrances but not on the base necessarily. so i think responsibly carrying a gun is a great help with violence. >> you got a standing ovation and survived a lot of people. you're heading to harvard. what reception do you expect to
8:45 am
get from president obama's alma mater? >> i take the same message everywhere i go. i took the same message to berkeley and i'll take the same message to harvard and that's that conservative republicans like me believe in the right to privacy. we believe that every individual should be left alone from the government unless they have probable cause to think you have committed a crime. so there are republicans, like myself, who believe in the right to privacy and i take that message to kids in college everywhere and it's well received whether you're on the right, the left, or in the middle, most americans do believe you ought to have privacy. >> senator, are the young people, the liberal, the academia, are they embracing b libertarianism? >> maybe, maybe not. there's honest progressives on the left that are good with civil libertiesut you have some who are horrible on civil
8:46 am
liberties and you have some who are good on civil liberties. one of the ones i have worked with is ron, a senator from oregon and i consider him to be a good progressive one who is defending civil liberties but there's many here from the left that have no concern at all for your right to privacy. >> very quick. only about 30 seconds or so. so this week, the first amendment under assault, ask hobby lobby. the second amendment under assault, ask eric holder, and the forth amendment, the nsa. which one of these are under attack the most by the left? >> the interesting thing i tell people is you can't have the second amendment unless you have the 4th. you can't protect the second amendment unless you have the 1st amendment. you need them all. sometimes they like some better than others and conservatives. you need to support the whole bill of rights. it's how you bring the country together right and left and you build a movement that will be a large majority in the country. >> last question, very quickly.
8:47 am
donald trump said you hit a long ball. he wanted me to ask you this, how does he play golf? >> donald trump has got game. that's all i'll say. he can play some golf. and i enjoyed playing with him. and i want a rematch because he kind of kicked me butt on the golf course. >> really. >> but i do enjoy it. i do need a rematch with him. >> we'll leave it right there senator. good luck. congratulations on the freedom summit. coming up, we invited john stewart on this show and he declined. he doesn't love freedom but sarah palin does. why did she team up with john stewart? she's next. so i can react in real-time. plus, my local scottrade office is there to help. because they know i don't trade like everybody. i trade like me. i'm with scottrade. 8:52 am
coming up. welcome back. she's been called governor, soccer mom and sarah bare cue da. one thing we know, she's a freedom fighter. governor, our freedom and liberty are under siege. the amendments, specifically, how do we fight back? >> you know, on the national level, we make sure we're electing candidates who will promise to -- then on a state level, it's important we find candidates and elect them to be willing to call for a convention of states if need be because that is the tool that the people have to reign in government. >> governor, i asked senator paul which amendment specifically was under the first attack. hobby lobby, the second amendment with the gun rights with eric holder and the fourth with the nsa. in your opinion, which is is
8:53 am
most at risk? >> you know, i would agree with rand if he said that the first amendment, it starts there. if we're not able to express the will of the people, then government will take over, will grow, will continue to do what it's doing today. the problems we see today start at the top. we have a president who doesn't understand or just chooses to disrespect our constitution. those rights, the ruefle of law the separation of powers. all those things we lesch learned in elementary school about why our nation is the most acceptable on earth because of that constitution, our president has set a tone in this nation that says, you know, it will be a select, elitist crew of guys that are going to run the show instead of we the people. >> speaking of that, governor, at one point, you said hillary clinton should run in 2016 for president. why and do we really need another bush or clinton for that
8:54 am
matter in the white house? >> i said it's fine if she ran. i didn't say it's fine if she won. no, we don't need you know, the -- more of the blue blood that you know, from -- no. we need new energy. we need new people in there who again, will understand what the constitution has done to create this great country. not those who would choose to seek constitutional changes amendments that are not the will of the people, that they would amend themselves by just seizing power from the people, so no, we need new people in there. >> this week, we found out that reverend al sharpton, at one point, it was an fbi informant. there are questions as to why and when he did that. he's been a very focal critic of yours. hero r o hypocrite? >> oh, my gosh, there are so many reasons to look at him and not be impressed. this is just one of those.
8:55 am
he's been a critic of just the average patriotic american, not just me. the average american who understands what it's going to take to get this country back on the right track. he's not one to help to get the country back on the right track. >> now, another person who's been fairly vocal against this show, mr. jon stewart at comedy central. i see you're doing something with jon stewart. will you tell us about that? >> doing a psa. our efforts are to help our troops, the wounded warriors returning from the war zone and needing mentorship. needing employment. there are so many trained, equipped troops returning home and we want to make sure they get a great shot. a fair shot at getting a good, sustainable job. tough to do of course in this economy. when you know, 18 to 20 million americans seeking full time, good employment, can't find it
8:56 am
because of the economic condition we're in, but whatever we can do to help those troops. it is our military. they have paid the price, they have made the sacrifices to allow us to be free. how dare their sacrifices, their efforts, but in vain? part of that is sustainable, good employment in the future for their families. that's what we're going to fight for. >> great cause, governor. we appreciate you coming on the freedom summit very much. have a great weekend and we'll talk to you very, very soon. >> thanks so much. >> we'll be right back. have co, [ children laughing ] move to the country, and live a long, happy life together where they almost never ght about money. [ dog barks ] because right after they get married, they'll find some financial folks who will talk to them about preparing early for retirement and be able to focus on other things, like each other, which isn't rocket science. it's just common sense. from td ameritrade.
