farmers to be able to use as cow feed. not only are the spent grains cheaper than cow feed, the cows seem to like it better, too. they produce more milk after eating it. so it is a great deal for cow farmers and it means breweries don't have to pay someone to instead take it to a landfill. saving both parties hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. the proposed regulations would likely end that though by requiring spent grains to be treated is same as pet food making it much more costly for brewers, dairy farmers, and eventually customers all across the nation. >> we're trading, giving something of value to each other and working it out. i think that's one of the great things here. people really hate to see the government getting involved in something where they can just as easily stay out of it. >> reporter: there is still a chance that could happen. the fda has been flooded by comments from dairy and cattle farmers along with brewers and
