and then here's a proud photo from one our or fox correspondents. duguess who it is? tweet me and tell me. we'll reveal it tomorrow. here's shep. a russian fighter jet flew too close to a u.s. navy ship in the black sea. a word from the pentagon as the situation in ukraine is spiraling further out of control and it's all on the back of vladimir putin. gunmen storming more buildings and ignoring a deadline to back down. now we're getting a much better idea of what putin's end game is. and we'll get to that. plus, heartbreak in kansas as a woman describes finding her father and her son dead. >> i saw he was lying on the ground, and my first thought was that he had a hart attack, just lying there. the very quickly i realized it wasn't that and i knew my dad was in heaven within seconds.
12:01 pm
and i ran around the truck and i saw my son lying there, and -- >> her news conference, an incredible sight, like nothing i have ever seen. a known racist now accused of going on a killing spree. apparently tarring jews on the eve of passover. let's get to it. >> but first from the fox news deck at 3:00 in new york city, we have very serious developments in russia and ukraine to report. now russia's president, vladimir putin, seems to be taunting the united states and the rest of the world. that's happening as pro russian supporters bring ukraine even closer to all-out civil war. we're now learning a russian fighter jet flew what the pentagon is calling way too close to u.s. warship. and not just once. but a dozen times over an hour and a half. it happened in the western black sea, in this area right here, not far from ukraine and russia.
12:02 pm
the pentagon slams the actions as provocative and the pentagon indicates the pilot ignored repeated warnings from the ship. the crisis in ukraine has now ramped up dramatically, even turning deadly, for his part the russian president vladimir putin says he is very worried about the situation. few believe him. american officials say do not be fooled. they say president putin is pulling all the strings, and could use this crisis as an excuse to invade eastern ukraine. officials sapporo russian force bashed their way interest buildings in some 10 ukrainian cities. armed men tore down ukraine flags and replaced them with russian flags. they chopped down trees and blocked roads. gunmen in camouflage opened fire on ukrainian forces, killing one and wounding several others. today the militants ignored a deadline for ukraine's acting
12:03 pm
president to leave the building they're occupying. there was a morning deadline to get out or face military force. ukraine military never showed. we'll show you where all of this is happening. most of the russian militant action is centered in these two cities in the eastern side of ukraine, and this red line along the border? this one here? this is exactly the spot where western officials say president putin stationed troops. tens of thousands of russian troops just along the russian side of the border. what is putin after in all of this? well, according to officials in the west, the kremlin is working to break ukraine apart into regions that can then vote to join russia. exactly what we saw when putin took over crimea. kremlin officials deny that. they say they're just trying to protect russian peeking people in eastern ukraine from so-called western backed terror attacks. fox news can report there is no such evidence of any attacks.
12:04 pm
the united states ambassador to the united nations spoke at an emergency security council meting and said president putin is spreading fiction. >> the fact it this is the saddest kind of instability. it is completely manmade. this instability was written and choreographed. in and by russia. >> written and choreographed. now the white house has threatened to slap russia with even more economic punishment. like the one the west put in place after russia took over cream ya. but if the past is any indicator, instant doesn't seem to bother putin one lea is live with us. what are we learning from western officials? >> we heard from the state department and the white house on the situation in ukraine. they said they're focus remains on economic and diplomatic efforts. the state department spokesman said the u.s. does not see a military solution to the crisis and praises the ukrainian government for showing
12:05 pm
constraint. >> they have the right to control the situation and maintain order, but i think we all want to see a peaceful outcome here, and for all sides to dedee ask late. they that's message we're conveying to all sides. >> she is talking about the restraint that comes as more pro russian protesters took over buildings in eastern ukraine. this is just one example. a pro russian crowd stormed city hall. 150 miles north. ukraine's temporary leader is calling the takeovers acts of terrorism but russia's foreigndt hypocritical to say that. he compares this to the protests earlier this year in kiev who the ukrainian government now called democratic in nature. >> you know, there's a back and foregoing on between russia or the kremlin and the white house about cia involvement in all of this. >> that's right. russia's foreign minister said he waned an explanation from reports thateyecry director john brennan had been in kiev.
12:06 pm
the white house press secretary says he doesn't comment on the sac's travel but he confirmed was true. he claims it was nothing out of the ordinary. >> senior level visits of intelligence officials are a standard means of festering accommodation include u.s. russian intelligence collaboration going back to beginning of the post colored war area. u.s. and russian officials have met over the years. to imply u.s. fors meeting with counterparts is anything other than in the same spirit is absurd. >> he says we're expecting president obama to speak with president putin very soon, possibly as early as today. the government in russia says putin is watching the situation with quote, great concern. >> lea. thank you very much. so men indicate president put is orchestrating this. let's bring in the former u.s. ambassador for special affairs at the united nations. what do you do about this? >> she is exactly on point.
12:07 pm
this is being orchestrated by russia inch this case, what you have to do is get more daylight on what is happening in eastern ukraine. it's wise for the central government not to precipitate a russian military assault by deploying large military assets into eastern ukraine, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be observers, more journalists, more transparency. they're trying to change the facts on the ground, and the majority of the people in this region actually do not support integrate into russia even though many are egg nick russians. >> you're talking about a 6:00 a.m. local time, 1:00 a.m. eastern deadline that came and went this morning 'when the school government in kiev said, you russian folks have to get out of these buildings or we'll come down there and cor you terrorists and kick you out there. were fears the strat government would that could but the deadline came and went. i'm guessing the west can say thankfully. >> i think so. i think it also could be perceived as a sign of weakness
12:08 pm
if it's not followed up by some major action, united action by the west. including much stronger support of the government in kiev. >> so we're led to believe that president obama and president vladimir putin are going to sneak. if you're president obama what is your message? >> i thick he has two messages. one is that the president of ukraine has now called for and said that possibly as part of elections in the ukraine there may be this referendum on more autonomy for the russian-speaking regions, and what he is going to say, we will respect the rights of the minority, the russian speaking minority in these regions. there will be greater autonomy. but what is happening right now is just contrary to any international norms and the rule of law. >> he's changed the facts, president putin. he has had his state-rub media of all different kinds say there are attacks going on
12:09 pm
russian-speaking people. you mentioned respect their history and respect their language. i can't find instances where they've been disrespected, aside from one little line when there was great turmoil in kiev and beyond a month ago. >> this is really not about disrespect. this is about putin believing that yanukovych's ouster was orchestrated by the west. there was an intent to roll ukraine into nato and now he is playing hard ball and using every tool at his disposal to create up rest in that region so there can be an outcome where the country in effect becomes fragmented and the russians can reassert control. >> and then putin gets a buffer southern zone between himself and he west. he needs it and is going for it, mr. ambassador, great to see you. thank you. >> thank you. >> we're hear from a woman teenage son and own father died in attacks on the jewish center in kansas.

this was unlike news conferences i've seen in the past. she came upon this jewish community center where her son was about to sing. she just heard him sing, including a song "you're going to miss me when i'm gone" and as she arrived there her father lay and then she saw her little boy. and what was her message for all of us? in the spirit of passover and easter we will let you hear from this extraordinary woman, who faced down hate, with a kind of love i'm not sure many of us could muster. stay with us. now? well, i didn't really. see, i figured low testosterone would decrease my sex drive... but when i started losing energy and became moody... that's when i had an honest conversation with my doctor. we discussed all the symptoms... then he gave me some blood tests. showed it was low t. that's it. it was a number -- not just me.
