the hijack scare on a flight. it is blamed on a passenger that police say was drunk. he tried to break in the cockpit. it shut down the airport in brisbane, australia and diverted several flights. kitty has the latest. >> reporter: the passengers are safe, but had a scare. the captain had to call a slight emergency as the passenger

banged on the cockpit door in an aggressive manner. it came in to land in the intended destination. it was surrounded by troops that were responding to potential hijacking scenario. the airport was closed and the crew had managed to restrain the man and hand cuff hem. and the airport official said he was drunk. he was arrested on arrival and was named 28-year-old matt, who was a australian. with the missing malaysian airliner on everyone's mind it is not surprising that the reaction boat authorities, they are nervous. we don't know what happened, we don't know if it was diverted or mechanical failure. and australian authorities are still searching for the plane off of the australian coast. they haven't identified wreckage so far.

canonized together. there's a pretty good chance there's going to be two popes actually presiding there. that in and of itself is exciting. but both of these men, there's been a strong push among the laity to have them canonized. pope john paul was essential in helping to defeat communism but in the lives of so many who were alive under his papacy, he really sparked a new excitement about the faith. and then john xxiii had the courage to inaugurate this council that transformed the church and the world. >> and millions of people will be pouring into the vatican. can you paint a picture for us of what sunday will entail? >> they're saying it's going to be a record number of people who will be there. i think it's going to be pretty crowded. but i think it's going to be a wonderful time for catholics everywhere, whether they're in st. peters square or watching it
