9:02 am
>> it bothers me a lot. >> clipper players are staging their own protests rather quietly, though. they turned their pregame shirts inside out before yesterday's playoff game and we should mention, sterling was not sitting in his usual courtside seat. i would imagine his seat anywhere he goes right now is pretty hot. you know, last night they lost the game so everybody should be focused on the tied series. we are focused on the nba but for a completely different reason. is it that big of a deal? >> it's a really big deal. i saw it on the show this weekend when you had the interviews with even the commentators, everyone seems to be in unison and accord with this issue. i think it's unbelievably tough for the players, ju trying to play with that kind of emotion. this is what he's saying about
9:03 am
us which reflects on the players on the team as well. i thought that was a good show of leadership and solidarity that they came forward to make a statement. if i was sterling, the first thing i would do is look for a buyer. >> nba can't really claim they were caught off guard by this because he has a history of this and in fact, it's a toxic history as a property owner, he -- he was taken to court several times over the fact that he would not represent to hispanic and african-americans. by the way, he also has a very sketchy past as far as prostitution, sexual harassment. so he can't claim this was a one slip of the tongue and the nba really should have been distancing itself from him for years. >> he's the longest tenured owner in the league. it's interesting if he had that kind of a history had it come up before. i'm curious from a political stand point, a lot going on in the world. the president in asia, ukraine, so much to talk about. this comes up on the trip. >> i think he was basically saying this is going to happen
9:04 am
in certain cases across country. there are going to be racists. this is going to pop up. we need to deal with it. yes, he should be held accountable. he's appalling on every level. let's not be surprised when someone left, right, does say something outrageous and racist and we do have to deal with it. it's part of life. i commend his statement on this issue. >> i think he believes there are a lot of people externally around. it's a little weird for a guy who used to own an nba league. where is the naacp in all of this? you just pointed out his background has been well known for a while. it looks like a classic case of resume laundering. they give you a lifetime achievement award. >> twice. he's up for a second one. >> is the naacp, are they going to keep the money from sterling? no. they shouldn't >> let's take one more listen now to some of that recording and again, they're looking into the -- into whether they can authenticate whether it's really
9:05 am
sterling's voice. >> real quickly, kimberly, that was a private conversation. >> that's where it becomes tricky. as we've seen in other cases like paula deen, think that you say out loud, people can record them. once the damage is done in a situation like this, what's his legal recourse? that doesn't matter. for him, there's going to be numerous repercussions socially and for the rest of his life because of this, as sandra mentioned, his storied past and history. he needs to do crisis management, move out from under this. >> the big step now comes from

the legal commissioner, adam silver and what he'll do next. >> consequences. a lot of pressure on him. >> we'll talk about it when the news happens. all right. wow. then there's this. she keeps saying she's not going to run but speculation is growing that democratic senator elizabeth warren could take on hillary clinton in 2016. who also has not committed to running just yet. and despite her denials, side stepping of questions like this won't help end the chatter. >> is she your candidate in 2016? >> all the women, democratic women, i should say, of the senate urged hillary clinton to run. i hope she does. >> you hope she does and if she does, she's your candidate? >> hillary is terrific. >> then why not endorse her if she's so terrific? >> i really hope they would both run. it would be interesting and very divisive for the left. a lot of members, when i talked to people on the far left in media, even, they're rooting for elizabeth warren. i think it would be gret to see the far left and elizabeth
9:07 am
warren rallies against connections with wall street. hillary has a lot of connections with wall street. she's a real supposed ally of the middle class of the little guy so you're sort of battling the every day woman, elizabeth warren, versus hillary clinton who many view like an elitist in many circles. >> what do you, the man on the panel, think of a female versus female presidential campaign would look like? >> a primary? >> yes. >> democratic primaries are always like burning man. they're like wild anyway. that would be a wild ride. >> having been there to cover it, it's hilarious. >> be careful here. >> it's true. but i do think elizabeth warren, there are things about her that aren't that appealing but her views mirror those of the democratic primary electorate. they're anti-war and anti-wall street. hillary is in favor of both. she took more money from wall street than anybody in the senate. it's hard to see them getting excited. people vote in iowa and new hampshire and south carolina about hillary clinton.
9:08 am
>> do you notice what she said when asked about running? she said i'm not running. >> you picked up on that. she's a savvy operator and does have tremendous support among the base. she can really stabbed on her own and derail hillary which we've seen that story before because that's what happened to hillary with barack obama. so it might be tough going but do you know what? i would say run, liz, run. >> she was described in a "new york times" book review as a strand of pearls short of looking like the head of the p.t.a. how important would looks be if you were to see a female versus female primary? >> sadly, more importants than they should be. right? there have been a lot of women who have run in politics who said they'll air brush the cover of a man on the cover of time may go sglgazine but not for a .

9:17 am
>> it was interesting. when the president was running as a then candidate, he had all these fans and friends around the world and he was chided being so popular outside of the united states. why is it a problem if he's taking ribbing outside? >> to answer his question whether is everybody so eager, it's because he's been using words like severe consequences and not following through on that so everybody is saying, well, where are the consequences? they're not adhering to the sanction. he was going to quote the senator from wyoming. he said our enemies don't trust us and our friends don't like us. it's just in that situation right now where we do look weak internationally. >> the problem is there's been a long history of this. where has there been a moment where you've said we're showing some strength, some kind of fortitude coming from the administration where people internationally will say, this is a man we respect. this is a man we have a healthy amount of fear about in terms of what he might do.
9:18 am
there is no bark, you know, or bite or anything where when it comes to president obama and that's the problem. so unless there's going to be some military force, these sanction aren't going to work. they're not afraid of him. >> i know that senator corker out of tennessee was calling for a different look at sanction. republicans have some ideas. we can just wonder, and that's what i would ask the president, are you open to other idea snz all right. 38 million american households are currently living paycheck to paycheck. are you one of them? but most aren't even considered to be poor. study finds 2/3 of those living hand to mouth are in the middle class. that's 25 million people. many own homes and have retirement assets among other things. so the question becomes, guys, why are they living paycheck to paycheck? >> if you look at a number of the households run by women, this tends to target that particular democrat demographic
9:19 am
-- demographic. >> this is income equality. this is exactly the president's chief concern, he says. the rich are getting richer and the rest are not. i would argue there are a lot of reasons for this. not all are obama's fault but i would argue there's undo focus and emphasis on the plate of the bottom 1% to the exclusion of the middle 60%, right? obamacare was created to rep the relatively few who don't have insurance and the middle class was being ignored. >> one likely reason a lot of folks are living like this is because they're not putting their money into savings because interest rates are so low. they would rather tie their money up in real estate or other assets and that's causing a pinch. they want a return on their investment. they don't have money to throw around. if they're saying i have kids that i have to send to college and home expenses and all of these things to worry about and i have a part-time job because i can't get a full time job right

that's the point i'm making. crime suggests a victim. >> the victim is a 15-year-old kid and then a grownup teach he were. >> there's a 15-year-old boy. having been a 15-year-old boy, i can tell you, unless there's something we don't know about this, this kid's life is not -- >> i have taught 15-year-old boys. i assure you they're still kids. they may be laughing but i assure you their parents are not. >> there's a 15-year-old inside of him. >> she's highly suggestible. that's not defending her judgment which may be impaired. my only point is -- >> may be impaired? >> do we throw this woman in jail? >> tucker, what has happened to you? >> i'm talking about reality. >> she's fondling an underaged child in front of his entire classroom. you're not embarrassed? >> look. i'm not saying i want this going on at my kids' school. let's spare the outrage and just be real about it. >> she put her head between his legs. >> she was acting out a lap

dance. she's obviously a very enthusiastic teacher. this might not have been appropriate for the classroom but is it a crime? no. >> you're raising a daughter. had this been a man and one of your daughters had this happen to them -- >> i would shoot them. the difference is they're girls and girls react differently to this kind of thing. >> oh, my -- >> it's reality. i know we're all outraged. but it's totally real. >> this is the thing. this is the problem i had as a prosecutor. you get these cases and i had plenty of them that were cases where it was inappropriate relationship or comments, suggestions, et cetera, with teachers and students and i've done specials on them, in fact, and there's a difference of opinion. if it's my son, fine. but my daughter, it's not. >> why is it different? >> it's not an appropriate relationship or act to commit against a child. >> let's put reality on this.
9:52 am
you have a 17-year-old boy. he is in almost every sense a man. >> he's not a man. >> he's not a man. he's 15. >> the teacher goes for this? >> you're saying that you don't even -- stand by on this. boy, it's about to get heavy on you right now. >> hit me with it. something if they had an inappropriate relationship, a female teacher and a male student, you don't think that the female teacher should go to jail? >> depends on the circumstances. it's not fair to generalize and do this it's always wrong because they're always children. if the boy is 17 years old -- >> you are very clear that gender is a big difference here. >> total difference. >> wait. wait. you've aged this child two years in this conversation. >> they weren't having a sexual relationship apparently. >> sounds sexual to me. >> she's fondling his crotch. >> it's inappropriate.
9:53 am
>> it's out there. i will say that. >> it's unlawful touching, actually. >> she should go to prison? >> i didn't say prison. she should absolutely lose her job. >> she should lose her job. >> what if she's a good teacher? >> you're saying it depends on the student reaction. if boys are okay, it's okay? >> maybe he's not a victim. >> he's a child. >> maybe it's up to the person whether he's a victim or not. >> that's okay for adults. not children. >> she was a school teacher. >> i'll bring my ruler out. >> every man watching this knows what i'm talking about. all eight of you. >> i was 21 and i had 18-year-old boys. it was not a god situation. let's put it that way. but i did get asked to prom. >> i've never seen patrick dig in like this. >> i'm sorry you don't agree with me. >> sorry, ladies. one of the world's most eligible bachelors apparently off the
