welcome back to "hannity." we're kicking off week-long hannity investigation. we told you about a disturbing report that dozens of veterans died while waiting for medical appointments and over the weekend, fox and friends first co-host aniesly earhardt traveled to speak with the families impacted and lost loved ones. watch this. >> reporter: thomas served his country honorably in the u.s. navy and also a devoted father and loving husband. >> you loved him? >> yeah, yeah, he was a good guy. he was the one that, you know, he is the kind of person because he was a service man, you got to be a man. you got to do this this way, you got to do it that way and most of the time he was right. >> reporter: when he hit the age of 71 and became ill, he turned to the local va a for help. that's when his son and daughter-in-law say it all went

horribly wrong. what happened to him? >> we took him to the emergency room at the va. he was showing signs of blood. he wasn't feeling well. his stomach hurt. >> reporter: what did the va hospital do? >> nothing. >> reporter: sent him home? >> yes. >> reporter: what did they tell him? >> they did a urine test and baseline ekg, that's what they did. they said for his condition that is normal. >> reporter: what happens next? >> goes home, continues and proceeds to bleed. when we were in the emergency room, the nurse gave me a card that says that a primary doctor we provide for you. they will call you one to three days. i said what if they don't call me? well then you can proceed to call them. i was calling repeatedly. i was getting no answer a lot. >> when a person is bleeding, something is wrong. you keep them for observation, give them tests right away. you don't say we're going to give you a primary in a week.
