making matters worse heavy rain bringing floods to athens alabama there was a flood that arrived a short time ago. many other states facing a flood threat. 18 advisories stretching across alabama, the florida panhandle as far north as southern parts of new england and parts of up state new york. 5 to 11 inches of rain fell causing significant flooding in pensacola. cars were submerged and one person was killed there. all of this flooding with another round of tornadoes. 8 tornadoes in north carolina alone. that brings the count to 135 and the death toll to 35. more severe weather is expected today including states across the southeast and further north
