we would love to hear your thoughts on the story of the newly released e-mails on ben g goz see. thanks for watching tonight. i'm martha mcelderry cullen in for megyn kelly. welcome to "hannity." we have an explosive news development linking the benghazi coverup to the white house and that's the beginning of a very, very busy news night. america, are you ready? time to roll. tonight. >> there is pressure coming to bear on journalist for doing their job. >> former cbs news reporter cheryl atkinson opens up. >> the inclination we were holding up information, when in fact, we were saying what we thought was right. >> and how they are still trying to coverup what happened in
7:01 pm
benghazi. race disgrace. >> it's ridiculous. it's disgraceful. >> steven a. smith says the naacp must be held accountable over the donald sterling mess. why? he's here to tell you. >> plus a murder's execution gets botched but where is the sympathy for his young victim? and betraying our veterans. >> there are so many beautiful people dying for no reason. i can't afford to have tony die on me, i can't. >> ainsley earhardt's interviews will make you think. this is a fox news alert, the smoking gun is out when it comes to the obama administration's coverup on the benghazi attack that killed americans. there was an e-mail written by ben roahodes.
7:02 pm
the document reads quote to under score that the protests are rooted in an internet video and finally, there you have it, cold, hard, evidence proving that a high-level white house aid instructed rice to instruct benghazi on a youtube video. jay carney step in front of reporters and actually, with a straight face, said this. >> that document that we're talking about today was about the overall environment in the muslim world. i can say it again and again and i know you can keep asking it again and again, this document was not about benghazi. >> sadly, that's how administration attempted to dismiss the smoking gun e-mail written by ben rhodes, it wasn't about benghazi but referenced by rice on the sunday shows which is why carney's explanation did
7:03 pm
not sit well with reporters, including abc's jonathan karl. >> why were you holding this back? why was it not released with the rest this is directly relevant, why did you hold it back. >> john, again. >> why did it take a court case? >> john, i can say it again and again and i know you can keep asking again and again, this document was not about benghazi. >> it was the prep for the sunday show. >> not her only prep, john she relied on her answers for benghazi on the document prepared by the cia. >> we're supposed to believe john carney that informed us the rhodes e-mail was designed to enlightening ambassador rice about other hot spots in the muslim world. there is one problem when rice blamed a youtube video during these appearances she wasn't asked about iran or egypt when
7:04 pm
she pointed the finger at causing the death of four america americans, she was asked about one place ask one place only, benghazi. >> what is the latest you can tell us on who the attackers were at the embassy? >> let's talk about the attack on the u.s. consulate that killed four americans including chris stevens. >> you talk about this is spontaneous, you can say definitively the attacks on the ko consulate, their security personnel was spontaneous? >> our current assessment is that what happen in ben gghazi s a spontaneous result of what happened in cairo. almost a copy cat of the demonstrations in cairo which were prompted by the video. >> make no mistake about it, susan rice got her accused from this e-mail and not written by the central intelligence agency,
7:05 pm
it was written by a top white house aid about ben gghazi and designed for political cover ahead of a presidential election. here with reaction to the developing story, investigative journalist cheryl atkinson and the host of special report brett bear. guys, welcome to the program. glad you're with us. >> thanks, sean. >> let me start with you. you are objective reporters, i come at this a little differently. i have a political point of view. i want to make sure the audience has the facts. your reaction to the news conference, is this plausible considering the data, this is three days after the attack. >> if you were to believe, sean, what jay carney said today, they are saying that ben rhodes was prepping susan rice for the sunday shows and was typing up an e-mail memo that dealt with other places and not benghazi,
7:06 pm
specifically not benghazi. he doesn't reference that in the e-mail by the way, but she's going on the sunday shows just days after the attack. now, the key to this whole thing is that the deputy director of the cia at the time, mike morrell in vent weeks testified on cale -- capitol hill, when she mentioned it, it was on talking points. when she mentioned the video he testified on the hill, that caught him by surprise. because that was not in anything that the cia had produced. he said the video caught him by surprise. now, it's strange as we watched a lot of reporters today ask these questions to jay carney. abc, cbs, "the new york times", pressing him on this for many,
7:07 pm
many months, jay carney has said that they didn't have any guidance and one more thing, this e-mail was classified at first. it was classified. so it didn't go up at the hill originally. then it was declassified and put up there redacted, so they couldn't see who sent it or received it. now, the judicial watch request was for benghazi e-mails or documents, nothing else and the judge ordered they have to compile. this came out and said it's not a benghazi e-mail. >> cheryl, is this what i believe is a smoking gun? do you think it's smoking gun? do you think his explanation is plausible? >> the two questions, i don't know that it's a smoking gun. i'll let that be for others to decide but i think it's clear when you look at the narrative by multiple obama administration officials they were reading from the same page, so whether or not
7:08 pm
carney is correct that that particular e-mail dealt with benghazi or did not deal with benghazi, it certainly was the message put out by hillary clinton when she spoke to the family saying we'll go after the guy that made that awful a video. it was certainly the clear message as if there had been, we don't have evidence of how and when this occurred, but as if there was some sort of meeting or discussion and decision that said this will be the narrative. >> you mentioned the others that made the same argument. we have a montage. we have to see through the prism. this was september leading through an election in november. let's show the montage. >> some thought to justify this vicious behavior along with the protests that took place at our embassy in cairo yesterday as a response to antiinflammatory material posted on the internet. >> we can all condemn this reprehensible video. >> we find the video that has
7:09 pm
been so offensive to muslims to be disgusting and reprehensible. >> although we have nothing to do with the video, we find it offensive. >> it's a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage through the muslim world. now i have made it clear that the united states government had nothing to do with this video. >> let me go back to you. that was september 25. when we look at the initial talking points, they saw the president on september 11th, while the attack was going on. do you think that things changed and can be provably on paper shown to be changed?
7:10 pm
>> i think this is going to produce more questions on capitol hill. it's important to point out to be fair, there were protests other places that they did believe were tied to this video or at least they said that but on the benghazi situation, everyone through the chain, on the ground said this was not a protest. there was no protest. it was a terrorist attack. military was sending it up their chain. we've heard testimony specifically about this. three, four, five days later they know there was no protest and this was an organized terrorist attack and many times after that when referencing be bengha benghazi, the video comes up. >> the decision was made not to take the word of eyewitnesss on
7:11 pm
the ground but go with an interpretation from ladies and gentlemen -- langly? >> you are left with two scenarios. one is they took the information and the other is a political motivation. let's acre a septembcept their they were wrong and stand out as one of the most terribly mistakes in intelligence that has been made in vent memory that i've heard of. in other words, they took all the evidence, someone who collected and analyzed it drew the wrong conclusion of a tiny slice that somebody said ignoring that and intelligence reports and prior warnings, that in itself should be alarming. >> i don't have time to play a monotaj here. cheryl, let me ask you about your situation, comments you made when you left cbs.
7:12 pm
there was this reluctance, resistance to go deep into some of the more controversial issues coming before the obama administration and you come under heavy fire for that. do you stand by your original comments? >> well, sure i'm under fire for those surrogates accused or representing those who believe they have been accused in the reporting. that's expected and i accept that and don't pay much attention to it. >> brad, i never miss the special report. thanks for being with us. >> thanks, sean. coming up, what i believe is the smoking gun of benghazi and the coverup open to see, what is hilary's infamous testimony and the new evidence mean for her 2016 presidential run? to analyze the political fallout from the bombshell and then espn analysts steven a. smith joins us for his thoughts on donald
7:13 pm
sterling, the scandal, the naacp, al sharp tton and much me as "hannity" continues tonight.
7:14 pm
7:15 pm
welcome back to "hannity," in light of the e-mails, we must not forget when 2016 hillary clinton said this during her testimony on capitol hill. take a look. >> the fact is, we had four dead americans because of a protest or guys out for a walk one night that decided they would go kill americans? difference at this point does it make? >> what difference does it make? with more political fallout, david limbaugh and steven hays. it makes a lot of difference if they lied purposely to the american people to coverup the failure, don't you think, david? >> yes, in fact, hilary knew the whole time. obama knew the whole time.
7:16 pm
david knew the whole time. jay carney knew. it was not the result of a video. the attacks were planned by al qaeda. the cia never said that it was a video, in fact, said it wasn't. they altered the talking point. this e-mail from september 14th is a smoking gun because it reveals that the white house knew it and they wanted to prepy shows to say that it was the video. and they were clearly covering obama for reelection. it had a potentially substantial effect on his reelection because if it would have shown that it was a result of an al qaeda attack, it could have cost obama the election because he said he had ali qaeda on the run. they prepped susan race to say we're doing everything we can to protect our facility and the ameri american people. we are bringing them to justice. this wasn't caused by terrorism but a video.
7:17 pm
three of the four bulletins were out right lies. administration is concerned about covering its own you know what and its own pr like it was in the gulf oil spill. it's never concerned about the american interest and this is outrageous and i really believe and i'll shut up in a second. i believe this would be an impeachable offense if any other president were in office beside president obama. >> steven hays, do you agree with that? >> let me start by defending hillary clinton, which i don't do often in the context of benghazi. that sound byte is misinterpreted by some to be a decoloration, of her indifference to what happened on the ground in ben gghazi. she wasn't saying basically, i don't care, we're beyond it, it doesn't hmatter. i think she was profoundly mistaken to make that claim -- >> but a big difference they lied to us like the irs and
7:18 pm
keeping your health care plan and paying less and keeping your doctor when they knew otherwise. >> it's important to be precise to be sure we're being as precise as we can be. on the broader question, there is no disputing the fact the white house mislead the american people on whether you talk about the original claims that came out of the white house in the days after the benghazi attacks or jay carney suggesting repeatedly in his press briefings that the white house had nothing to do with the pr spin, that the white house had no substantive role when we have 100 pages of e-mails that show undisputely they did or talking now the revelation is revealing something i think most of us already knew, that the white house played a big role in shaping the response of that -- >> what is the consequence? david, what should the consequence bs and what impact on hilary, before we go? >> i think that they should form a select committee,
7:19 pm
congressional committee because they are not going to get a special prosecutor, and i'm not sure i would be in favor of that anyway, steve said that we already knew that this was a fabrication. of course we knew. the white house never admitted it and now they have to, even though they are still not admitting it. to your point about hilary, i don't deny her statement in that limited context was hey, somebody died, quit worrying about why. she knew when she made that when she was trying to distract and reflect that it wasn't a video. so she was part of that coverup. she clearly was part of that coverup so she does not deserve to be defended on the broader point, and i know you're not. >> we've been lied to on the irs rogue agents, health care, when they knew better keeping your plan doctor and saving money. a lot of lies. we'll see what the consequences are. thank you. we examine the naacp's hypocrisy with donald sterling and the scandal and why is al

it's the nexium you know, now delivered. welcome back to "hannity." the nbc banned donald sterling and the naacp pulled the plug on the lifetime achievement award they plan to give him. as we reported last night, this is not the first time sterling made racist disgusting comments which is why a lot of people are scratching their heads as to why the naacp chose to honor this man back in 2009 and was about to do it again. my next guest is just as outraged as i am, friend of the program, personal friend, espn analyst. he doesn't like my buddy tim tebow. what is up? >> what's going on, sean, how are you doing? >> when you go after tebow, stop, you're killing me. this is a serious matter.
7:23 pm
let's start with why did they honor him? now that we know so much about his history, the nba had to know, the naacp had to know. why would they give him an honor. >> the reality of the situation, there was a racial discrimination case brought by donald sterling. their local chapter in los angeles was fully aware of that when they decided to best strgi lifetime achievement award in 2009. one of the quotes on the record he does a lot for the youth in the community, particularly giving tickets to games for the clippers, and that was their excuse and justification. we know that doesn't hold water or make any sense whatsoever and i don't have problems about calling it out and calling it as i see it. it needs to be an investigation

7:25 pm
come and do something. >> then the most recent development is that videotape of a younger al sharp totonsharpto al sharpton with the deal and cocaine. why are they honoring him? >> listen, that's for the naacp to answer. i'm certainly not here to judge al sharpton. we can look at a lot of things in his past. i know him personally and know as an african american, even though you can pull out tape,
