winds of up to 200 miles an hour across the area. that's why we saw the devastating images from the states. we have the storm system continuing on the move. you mentioned extreme flooding across parts of the florida panhandle and parts of alabama. two feet of rain coming down in 24-hours. at one point it was across this area and parts of alabama and off to florida. some information as well as areas picking up over 6 inches of rain. they have been over carolina, georgia and most of the areas across tennessee. that is because the storm system is on the move and we have quieter weather. we are looking at storms across the eastern sea board.

by a drone. it shows houses soaked in nearly 2 feet of rain. hundreds of people being rescued out of washington, d.c. cruz used a raft to save him. they brought the deadly tornadoes to 14 different states. it was across places like arkansas and mississippi and so many other states. also the flooding. it has been so extreme across parts of alabama and also in the state of florida. take a look at some of these latest rainfall totals from the national weather service in pensacola officially they are reporting 14.7 inches of rainfall. there have been higher amounts in other areas as high as 2 feet of water in parts of alabama

more than 18 inches reported. also the rainfall rates. how much rain came down within an hour? it was very incredible as well. areas reporting 5 inches of rain in one hour. that is why we have seen such incredible flooding across florida. many areas picking up significant rainfall in the northeast. more information across parts of the southeast. we have the risk that some of the storms could troe dues isolated severe weather we will have the warnings coming up today. ainsley, heather, over to you. >> thank you maria. mandatory evacuations just listed in southern california where fierce winds are fuelling wildfires. at the height of it nearly 2,000 homes evacuated still only a few are returning to their homes. many choosing to stay away until
