administration, where were they on benghazi, have they been too quick to move on from the irs scandal, and are they starting to turn on this administration? we take on those questions tomorrow night. thanks for watching, everybody. i'm megyn kelly. this is the "kelly file." welcome to "hannity." tonight two obama cabinet members have been subpoenaed while an former administration official has been held in contempt of congress. that's just the beginning of the jam-packed show. america, are you ready? it's time to roll. tonight we look inside the obama administration's content for the truth with congressman. >> we would much rather have the
10:01 pm
witness answer the questions than hold them in contempt. >> the latest developments on the kidnapped nigerian school girls, what should america's role be? >> i'm the one that captured your girls. >> plus, why did hillary clinton try to keep boca haram off a list of terrorist groups? the big lie has been exposed. >> it will add hundreds of thousands of americans to the unemployment. >> the sequester resulted in one layoff and ainsley earhardt is here regarding the spring break exposed series. welcome to "hannity." we're exposing the contempt for the truth. let's run through the many reasons how conservative groups
10:02 pm
were targeted by the irs because they dare to hold a different point of view and lois lerner instead of testifying before congress about what she knew and when, she made it come to this. >> house resolution, 574, resolution recommending the house of representatives find lois g learner former director exempt internal revenue service in contempt to compile. >> the house votes to hold lois lerner in contempt but yet, the disgrace is defiant after last night's vote. her attorney released a statement that reads, quote, today's vote has nothing to do with the facts or the law. it's only purpose is to keep the
10:03 pm
baseless irs conspiracy alive through the midterm elections. not an ounce of remorse. our friends at the media research center watched the morning shows and the only network that covered it was abc and sadly, that was only a whopping 15 seconds. but the irs and lois lerner's disregard for the people's personal freedom is one example of this administration's contempt for truth. the house veterans subcommittee voted to subpoena this man, va secretary eric shinseki to find out what he knew about the reports that dozens if not more veterans died while waiting for treatment at a phoenix va hospital. prior to today's decision, shinseki told cbs news he had no plans to resign as a result of this growing scandal. here is what he said. >> all of this makes me angry. whenever we have allegations like this, even until they are founded, i didn't come here to watch things happen this way. i came here to make things better, and we've done that. >> he clearly has not done enough and now in an effort to combat the damage, the secretary is calling for a quote face-to-face audit at all of the va clinics. but the bottom line is simple and it's this. this agency cannot get its act
10:04 pm
together. we made a promise, a pledge, to these veterans and they deserve better. three officials from the phoenix va have been placed on leave. this is not enough. the buck stops with eric shinseki. he should step down. we now come to the benghazi terrorist attack that left four americans dead and we learn democrats may boycott the committee to get to the bottom of what happened that night and another cabinet member has been subpoenaed and john kerry was called to testify before the house oversight committee later this month. first, it seemed like we might actually get somewhere. listen to this. >> we'll respond because we have absolutely nothing to hide whatsoever and i look forward to complying with whatever responsibilities we have. >> well, apparently he does
10:05 pm
because he's fleeing the country. the day he's supposed to testify before the committee, john kerry is going to be in mexico. how convenient. to recap, two cabinet secretaries face subpoenas, another high-ranking official held in contempt. it's clear to me the president completely lost control of his administration and instead of fixing the mess and being transparent like he promised, he spent today at a democratic fundraiser in my next guests home state. welcome back to the program. >> thanks for having me on and thanks for covering each and every one of these issues that mainstream media is pretending didn't exist. >> are we being lied to about benghazi, the irs gate? how is it that 40 veterans died while waiting for care? are we being lied to? >> i suspect kerry is going to mexico not to talk about fast and furious where administration lied for over ten months until
10:06 pm
the truth came out and then asserted executive privilege so they wouldn't have to show how high the conspiracy went to protect, if you will, the truth from the american people. in this case, the latest scandal is that for all this time with these subpoenas for benghazi, the state department said they would comply fully. in a week in which we received over 800 documents tucked in is the result of something that should have been delivered to us more than a year earlier that shows very clearly it was never about cia and intelligence. it was always about a spin from the white house from almost moment one. >> didn't beth jones at the state department, did she not tell the president of libya on the morning after the attack that in fact, our state department knew that it was the person responsible for the attack? isn't that the very next day?
10:07 pm
>> you know, secretary kerry votes for things before he votes against them. it appears as though also beth tells the truth before the spin goes against that. it's one of the reasons that one of the channels libya's head of state was saying it was a terrorist attack. ambassador rice was saying it wasn't. this is exactly the kind of web you weave when you decide to deceive. the deciding to deceive came from the white house. that's why a select committee as of later today will begin work on getting to the bottom of what happened at the top at the white house in this scandal. >> our state department knew the very next day and we were telling the libyans it was sharia. the white house, did they not
10:08 pm
also say they were not responsible for changing the talking points except for the change to consulate? that's all they said they were involved in, right? >> that's exactly one of the false statements where i suspect chairman gouty will be inquiring from each of these people whether they knew that simultaneously these talking points were being created and if they did, there were a series of people at high and higher level who lied basically on behalf of the president and in denver during the debate. the president continued to perpetrate the statements. >> did lois lerner lie when she said these -- or not lois lerner, when administration claimed these were rogue agents in cincinnati, that was the talking point in that particular case where we now know that tea party groups were intimidated and harassed and silenced by the irs and 10% of the lists in fact
10:09 pm
were used by the irs to audit? one of the usual auditing percentages, about 1%. was that a lie about cincinnati? didn't the people from cincinnati say they were taking orders from washington? >> sean, you got it right. two big lies, one, it had anything to do with the hard-working people of cincinnati. it didn't. it was at washington at lois lerner's level and two, very clearly, only conservative groups were targeted for special treatment, if you will and included asking inappropriate questions and trying to get the contributor list of the organizations. >> what about as it relates to the va? here are the brave men and women, they risk their lives, in many cases they come become injured, and we make a promise
10:10 pm
to them they will be well taken care of. we have as many as 40 people that died waiting for care. they apparently have two lists to coverup the fact they are not treating the veterans the way they deserve. we've done some investigatie ii reporting on this program. should shinseki go? >> eric shinseki is a good man that tried hard but the fact is years ago he told me he had to change a culture at the va and it was hard and he needed to do it. in the sixth year as secretary, there is no time left. if you can't change an agency in a fraction of the time, you're not going to do it in a year or two more. that's the sad truth. it's not that he isn't a good man but he failed. >> so on the issue of the va, we've been lied to and they tried to cover things up. on the issue of rogue agents in cincinnati, we have been lied to and they tried to cover that up. in benghazi they were active and writing the talking points and also an elaborate web of lies was built in the leadup to a presidential election. in july of 2010 the white house knew people would lose policies,
10:11 pm
lose doctors and pay more money and made a conscious decision not to tell us. what does it mean when the american people are regularly, routinely being lied to by their government? is there recourse? what should happen here? what will happen here? >> well, there is no question that this is an administration that's driven, willing to play fast and loose with the truth. even today, they are still trying to spin the idea it wasn't just conservative groups and i suspect it's only a matter of time before the president says there isn't a smidgin of corporation. the most we can do in congress is let the american people know the whole truth. force the truth out, subpoenas, other things and ultimately in some cases go to the court as we did yesterday. >> yeah. >> in a democracy, real change comes when the american people decide to have it and i think this administration is one that's worn out its welcome. >> it's funny. if chris christie lied and a
10:12 pm
smoke gun e-mail that he knew about the whole bridge incident, you know the same liberals would have been calling for his resignation. the search is on for the nearly 300 nigerian school girls captured by boca haram. new revelations are coming to light, including how hillary clinton during her tenure as secretary of state, resisted naming this group as a terrorist organization. that and ainsley earhardt and ann coulter as this busy news night continues.
10:14 pm
10:15 pm
nigerian school by boca haram. this comes after the leader of that organization threatened to sell the girls into slavery. they attacked a town yesterday. they left 100 dead. 50 bodies have been recovered so far. tonight is a professor, david, what can you tell us about this group? >> boca haram emerged a couple of years ago and they are fighting for a separate state that will be governed by sharia law. it's a very isolated region and unfortunate unfortunately despite the fact this is a tragedy, it is dominating the news here in nigeria over the last several days. >> he has threatened to marry
10:16 pm
these girls off to terrorists. he'll kill. what else do you know? >> the leader is clearly a -- will stop at nothing to get his message across. he's brutal. the government is trying to track him down and trying to get the girls back safely, and i think that we need to have a conversation about the connection between economic opportunity and insecurity because that part of the country is one of the least developed and one of the poorest in nigeria. >> are you suggesting that poverty is responsible for islamic radicalism and his push for sharia law? there's a lot of people in saudi arabia and they still have sharia law.
10:17 pm
>> what i'm saying, sean, economic opportunity will empower the population and certainly islamic fundamentalism and this definitely is vulnerable because there is little infrastructure and it certainly makes it easier for groups like this to thrive. >> would you suggest the answer is the world ought to help develop nigeria? otherwise, we would somehow be cu cultivating more islamic extremism?
10:18 pm
>> no, they can help themselves. you're seeing nigeria now recently designated the largest economy in africa. it's growing very fast. it's a matter of priority and engagement and bringing the private and public sector together to create more opportunity for the people. >> appreciate you being with us. while the kidnapping has drawn global condemnation, questions why boca haram was not dedicated a terrorist group. the delayed designation as a foreign terrorist organization cost us two years of increased scrutiny of the activity and leadership. boca haram met the requirements but the state department's delay left us with fewer resources and less intelligence on an islamic terrorist group that is clearly destabilizing the region. they were formally added to the list by john kerry but that was in november of 2013. sounds like the secretary of state has explaining to do. here with explanation, fox news political analyst juan williams. you follow these groups closely. there were repeated efforts to label the group.
10:19 pm
what they were. it would have been -- would have given us an opportunity to perhaps degrade their military capability and potentially stop something like this from happening. why didn't we do it? why didn't hillary clinton do it? >> i can tell you, sean, as a member of the u.s. commission on international religious freedom, the commission for years is asking that it be labeled and it wasn't. you hear responses like you heard it's about economic affection, it was diseffected youth and labeling them as an islamist terror group would be counterproductive. and i can tell you we have leverage in nations like nigeria that are allies and this is the second largest economy. they are squandering due to political corruption, billions and we should put pressure on them and i can tell you it's a religious society. i was in nigeria and i can tell you the religious freedom issues are primary and we need to encounter the ideas of western
10:20 pm
education being a sin. >> you and i have been saying this about sharia for years. i'm glad ellen degeneres and jay leno have jumped in. juan, there is this mysterious reluctance to use the term "war on terror." the president went to cairo, addressed the muslim world, supposedly apologizing for america to bring america closer to the muslim world. doesn't seem like it's working. overseas contingency operations. explain the reluctance and resistance. why didn't we do it then? >> it's interesting because today this question was asked quite pointedly and the response, they have the same person serving.
10:21 pm
it would have raised the credibility, the respectability, the recruitment, credibility for boca haram. >> that's lame. >> i don't think it's lame. when you give them the stature, they are gaining world-wide recognition. >> now they have worldwide recognition and 300 girls they want to sell off to slavery and perhaps kill and if there is any chance to rescue them, it will be american troops boots on the ground that will be able to do it because nobody else is capable of it. >> well, that ain't going to happen. i don't think anybody is thinking about putting u.s. troops on the ground. >> i don't think anyone else is capable of doing it. >> i agree. look, i think we're the best. the u.s. military is far and away the best and our intelligence is terrific. i think what you're going to see is fbi agents helping in terms of tracking and evidence and intelligence people who try to make connections but i don't think boots on the ground. i was going to say one of the problems with nigeria is not only the corruption that we know
10:22 pm
but you know, the fact is, they have human rights violations unbelievable. this is not a healthy society and so if you're saying about giving them u.s. weapons and the like, there is -- >> the only thing -- go ahead dr. jasser. >> juan, the bigger picture, the fact that this administration has no strategy. boca haram is no different than the iran issue. all over the region radical islamism -- the home of the african union, kerry couldn't come up with the term two days ago and that tells you the program and the way to help the society -- >> dr. jasser it's worse. we gave morsi, the former head of the muslim brotherhood, we gave him f-16s, $1.5 billion and american tanks. this is a guy that referred to the israelis descendants as apes and pigs.
10:23 pm
frankly, it is inexplicable to me, juan. >> that's a different time frame. morsi was elected by the egyptian people -- >> giving tanks and money -- >> but don't distort it -- >> give him tanks and jets and money. >> you're distorting the timeline to make your point and that doesn't help you. i'm on your side when it comes to let's call these people not manmade disasters. >> this is what this president did. this administration -- >> i think any president would have said we want a relationship with egypt and want influence if they elect morsi. look, of course -- >> the relationship without giving them an f-16, juan. >> juan, you're missing -- >> our friend and ally and work with us -- >> we got to go, guys. >> you're missing the bigger issue, which is the battle against political islam that this administration continues to cower from and is too fearful to
10:24 pm
take on. >> that's why we went and got the bad guys. we go after people -- >> not a military people. it's a battle. >> coming up next tonight right here on "hannity". >> they will add hundreds of thousands of americans to the unemployment rolls. this is not an abstraction. people will lose their jobs. >> most people don't know what the word sequester means. sequester people's unemployment. >> remember when the obama issued warnings about the sequester? the total number of actual layoffs has been revealed. we're going to compare that to the democratic predictions. you don't want to miss this. you'll find out all of that after the break and leave you stunned and aniesly earhardt in studio as this jam-packed edition of "hannity" continues tonight.
10:27 pm
welcome back welcome back to "hannity." despite the doomsday predictions surrounding the sequester, a march report reveals that the $85 billion in spending cuts only resulted in one layoff. let me repeat, one. only one person lost their job. don't forget it was the obama administration and their democratic cohorts that predi predicted the sequester doom and gloom catastrophe. >> they will add hundreds of thousands of americans to the unemployment rolls. this is not an abstraction. people will lose their jobs. >> most people don't know what the word sequester means. it means unemployment. >> we don't need to have something like sequester that will cause the loss of jobs.
10:28 pm
>> we have learned that the sequestration already has 1.6 million jobs. >> okay. more government lies. here with reaction steven hayes and kirsten powers. i'm at the point i'm tired of being lied to. benghazi, lies. we know about the rogue agents in cincinnati. lies. sequester. how are we ever going to balance the budget if they go 170 million people will lose their jobs? i don't think we have over 170 million people working under obama's economy. >> the president didn't say that, though. >> maxine waters said it. >> we don't know how long it
10:29 pm
will last in the long run how many jobs would be lost. it doesn't run its course because the sequester ended. they did exaggerate. there's no question. >> you mean like the summer of recovery. >> they would have turned into job losses because that i have been doing budgetary gimmicks to shift things around. >> we're still robbing our kids blind. we have 17 trillion in debt. if we can't cut just a little bit -- >> we don't need to cut a little bit. we need to cut a lot. >> we don't need to cut anything. we need to stop the rate of growth. >> the sequester isn't the right way to cut things. it's not the most effective way to be doing it. >> there's a point of agreement. what's most fascinating about this study about sequester is
10:30 pm
these agencies -- 23 agencies found ways to reduce funding in virtually every manner exception for -- except for attrition of government workers. >> here's what i want to ask both of you. i'm a supporter of the penny plan. everybody at home can understand it. you for every year, for six years -- we end baseline budgeting. you cut one penny out of every dollar government spends every year for six years. guess what happens? you balance the budget. tell me why that is so unreasonable that we expect the government to be unbalanced with the money we give them. >> it is simple enough to describe in 20 seconds, 30 seconds. a lot of the other discussions
10:31 pm
about the way to cut the federal government, which is cut spending, are not. you have to first address entitlements. if you don't reform entitlements, you're not going to make any long-term progress even if you have piecemeal reforms. >> like my penny plan? >> it sounds too good to be true. >> it actually works. >> if it works, that would be great. the cuts with the sequester, i don't think are that effective. you have to look at entitlements. >> i agree with all that. i know you as a very moral person. isn't this a moral issue and shouldn't it be defined as a moral issue that we shouldn't on principal rob our children's piggy banks? >> yes. and i don't think our leader should just spend and spend and spend -- >> but they do. >> people in our generation have
10:32 pm
to think about the fact where is social security going to be. >> forget it. >> how is that okay? that's not okay. >> they're going to steal it. >> a note of optimism. remember in 2006, 2007, republicans were reluctant to talk about entitlement reform. now there's actually -- republicans have adopted entitlement reforms in their budgets. if they take the senate next year, which i expect them to do, you'll have republicans that have to pass budgets that include these entitlement reforms. at least we're starting to have a conversation about it and that's important. >> the answer is we do have an answer and that's energy. if we would start drilling and fracking and expand coal mining and exploration, we'd solve all
10:33 pm
of our economic problems, but you're looking at me with those mean, cold -- >> come on. >> yes, expand coal mining, absolutely. >> sorry. i like clean air. >> before i came out here, i put dirt in here so i could drink dirty water. >> if you want more coal, then you want more dirty air. >> i want more americans working. >> tell me burning more coal does not have an effect on the environment. >> i want to be energy efficient. >> and that makes you love dirty air. >> it's black, the way i like it. thank you, guys. jon stewart may have mocked our series, but tonight ainsley earhardt is here with a breaking news update about what's happening in florida. what does monica lewinsky have to say about hillary clinton.
10:34 pm
10:37 pm
to seal out more food particles. can you start tomorrow? yes sir. alright. let's share the news tomorrow. today we failrly busy. tomorrow we're booked solid. we close on the house tomorrow. i want one of these opened up. because tomorow we go live... it's a day full of promise. and often, that day arrives by train. big day today? even bigger one tomorrow. when csx trains move forward, so does the rest of the economy.
10:38 pm
csx. how tomorrow moves. honestly, the off-season isn't i've got a lot to do. that's why i got my surface. it's great for watching game film and drawing up plays. it's got onenote, so i can stay on top of my to-do list, which has been absolutely absurd since the big game. with skype, it's just really easy to stay in touch with the kids i work with. alright, russell you are good to go! alright, fellas. alright, russ. back to work!
10:39 pm
>> test >> test >> test >> >> test >> welcome back to "hannity". as we've been reporting after ten years, monica lewinsky has broken her silence. today vanity fair released the column written by bill clinton's former mistress and in the essay, lewinsky says it's time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress and what about the infamous affair saying, quote,
10:40 pm
at the time at least from my point of view, it was an authentic connection, intimacy, visits, plans made, phone calls, and gifts exchanged wi. with reaction -- why will you giving me that smile? i want everybody to leave this girl alone. i mean, she's had -- i feel bad in a way for her. she was suicidal. leave her alone. >> i would start by saying i agree with you. i feel sorry for her. i think the only hope for her and i seriously wish i could tell her she has to become a christian because she's going to end up in worse and worse despair and meaningless -- >> are you becoming -- >> no, but she went through a tough time, having said that,
10:41 pm
first of all, she shows, this is part of the reason, she shows an utter lack of personal responsibility, something i write about in my book godless but theater who interviewed a lot of criminals describes when they are admitting to a crime, they never say i'm nice to the guy. that's how monica describes it. i regret the things that happen, now it wasn't the things that happened. you have sex with a married man. that's what happened. you should be sorry for that. >> here is what i want to ask you. >> one more thing i want to disagree with her on. on the article, this big coming out and it was consensual, i want to say -- no, we knew she kept trying, she was in love with the big creep. that isn't the point. to go on -- that's what she
10:42 pm
called him -- >> in the tapes -- >> i'm not calling him that. >> brings back memories. >> remember, we know she was pursuing him. >> leave her alone. >> this is like women who say a woman can do anything a man can do. can you quarterback for the seahawks? he was an adult. she was not -- >> she was in her 20s for crying out loud. >> that's what i'm saying. i'm saying she is saying something that is frivolous to the extent it's true -- >> all right. all of that said, she had to watch him deny the truth -- >> yeah. >> i've not had sex with that woman not a single time, did in fact -- she's watching it and the world is coming down on her and they are beating the crap out of her. he should have said yes i did it. it was wrong. i'm married. i blame him more than her. he was married. >> if we start with the list of things bill clinton should have done, this is going to be a long night, a long segment. >> and -- >> it's the way they treated. >> jennifer flowers, juanita --
10:43 pm
>> juanita is the rape. >> that would be rape. >> and kathleen willy shoved up against the wall. >> as exposed. >> they were all attacked. the war on women, republicans are guilty of war on women. wait a minute, they started a war against women to a degree that we have not seen before. >> right, they are against rape unless it's committed by a clinton or kennedy. >> that made news. >> just giving you the rules. >> we're watching these 300 girls and we talked about this earlier in the program in nigeria, i think if we can help, we should. i think the only way those girls have any chance of being rescued is u.s. special forces and i think if they have an opportunity, we should help, but with that said, i'm -- what i found out today that hillary clinton's state department fought to keep them off the terror list. that angers me. >> yeah, no, it's shocking and by the way, we can argue about this when i come back next week, wednesday, i think, i actually disagree with you on the first point. this is, it's a horrible thing but this is what conservatives mean when they don't want to be the world's policeman. when you hear liberals, did they hear about a -- screaming, military intervention that would be in the united states national security interest they are against as long as there is absolutely no national security interest than they are weeping
10:44 pm
and the poor girls. that having been said, i mean, for hillary clinton's state department to be fighting the fbi, the department of justice, democrats and republicans saying this group belongs on the terrorist list, i -- and then you connect that with the fact that this country under our current immigration system, we bring in more nigerians -- >> you bring -- >> they can't come in so they needed more nigerians to come in. we take more nigerians than immigrants from france and switzerland, separately, from australia, denmark, finland, not like people are leaving those countries. nigerians come here more easily
10:45 pm
and engage in credit card fraud. i don't know what else the reason would be for the state department -- >> they both declare radical islamic terrorism. you got mad when you said the religion of peace because moderate muslims do not speak up and you get beaten up for saying there is radical islamist. >> i don't blame the moderate muslims. >> if your religion was being hijacked, would you speak up? >> to pretend this isn't islamic terrorism, my objection is white liberals than muslims. they aren't running "the new york times." can we call it what it is? it is shocking they are ready to go in and send in a seal team when hillary clinton -- >> i don't think they are going to. i think that's the only way to save them. we are the only people capable of doing it. >> well, there are a lot of people suffering in this country. i think it's very hard to explain to american taxpayers and americans dying -- >> and benghazi -- >> and can we talk about their hysteria over the war in iraq and review hussain and the rape rooms and torture rooms.
10:46 pm
>> liberal silence. >> yeah. >> i got to go. good to see you. see you next week. >> see you next week. >> aniesly earhardt is back, breaking developments, spring break, she was down there for a week. remember the veterans hospital week-long series that we had? we have updates. that's next. nowchoose one option fromith red lothe wood-fire grill, trios! one signature shrimp dish, and a pasta.

welcome back to welcome back to "hannity." all right. we have two important updates to share with you. first, after dozens of veterans died while waiting for medical appointments at a phoenix va hospital and after the victims stories aired on hannity last week, not only did a house committee vote to subpoena the va secretary, but three employees at the phoenix va hospital have been placed on administrative leave until further notice. one of the victims you about was a man who absolutely needed back surgery after breaking his back last november. after the story aired on "hannity," he is scheduled to get his back surgery next week.
10:52 pm
after ainsley exposed what really happens with your kids on spring break, panama city beach is now considering tightening spring break rules with a series of brand new ordnances and regulations. those kids are going to hate us. let's start with the most important story, the va. we have the secretary of va affairs, he's going to have to testify about this, and three people put on leave. >> this is why i got into the business. to see a difference being made. that's happening. i was out of town this weekend. i can't tell you the number of people that said, thank sean so much. >> don, what's his last name? >> joe and dan. dan is getting his surgery next
10:53 pm
