and friends first and ainsley, then fox and friends 6:00 to 9:00. thanks for joining us we'll see you back here tomorrow night. o'reilly factor is on. tonight. >> i'm convinced he had nothing left whatsoever to do with watergate. >> either people have gotten tired about ben queaz or never knew about it in the first place. >> nixon and similar defenses watergate and now benghazi. the question tonight is why is it so hard to get the truth in america? >> what's your evidence that the republicans are racist? >> i never said that and. >> you said the republican base is animated by racism. answer the question you are a paid political official. >> what should we think about democrats in congress calling republican party racist. jesse watters put that question to two of the offenders. also ahead, bernie goldberg
8:01 pm
on why there are so few republican journalists and i am angry about how the airlines are treating you. caution. you are about to enter the no spin zone. the factor begins right now. ♪ ♪ hi, i'm bill o'reilly. thanks for watching us tonight. what happened while i was away? that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. well, the benghazi situation is fairly clear. it's now apparent the obama administration tried to mislead americans about what happened to ambassador christopher stephens and three her men killed by terrorists in libya. even though a congressional committee has been formed, we pretty much know what happened. what we don't know is that president obama was directly involved and that will be tough to nail down. what we do know is ambassador stevens traveled to the backwater of benghazi despite the fact it was a
8:02 pm
dangerous place. organized terrorists knew the ambassador's location and planned their attack. american military knew quickly that the terrorists were causing damage but no one would give the order for the u.s. military to it move into libya. no one. thus, the four americans were killed and subsequently no terrorists have been held accountable. some believe fault lies with hillary clinton then secretary of state. but to be fair, mrs. clinton was running all over the world ant didn't really have her attention on lynn i can't. why should she? with iran, syria, north korea all causing trouble. mrs. clinton had her handsful. to blame her for the attack in libya not fair. yes the bad and state department was warned. those are usually handled by others, not the secretary of state. however, after the attack, now hillary clinton should have stepped up and explained the situation. instead, she, herself, referred to an anti-muslim video as insighting the violence. she went along with what the obama administration was falsely putting out from
8:03 pm
there. that was wrong. and that's on her. the key question right now is: did president obama himself actually come up with the the false narrative? and no committee is ever going to get that defined unless a guy like john dean steps forward. dean was white house counsel style nixon and his testimony took the president down. the congressional committee will uncover some facts, unless a white house insider comes forward, the president will not likely be affected. there is a second scandal surrounding benghazi and that is that some in congress don't want to know the truth. just like vice president gerald ford during watergate, they are in denial. >> the president was in the process of negotiating with the soviet union. the president was trying to end the war in vietnam. i'm sure he turned to those running the re-election campaign and said: i have these major matters that involved the national security and the well-being of the american people and
8:04 pm
you run the campaign therefore i'm convinced he had nothing whatsoever to do with watergate. >> it iseery, the same kind of stuff being said today about benghazi diversion, subterfuge, benghazi, benghazi, benghazi. why aren't we talking about something else? >> the so-called scandals scands have not diverted us one iota. >> we have already had thousands and thousands of pages of testimony. two by tart san committees in the senate. this is a waste of taxpayer money. >> again, supporters of the president simply do not want to know. now, as far as the irs scandal is concerned, the one woman who could break the case, lois lerner has been held in contempt of congress as you know. if a federal grand jury is convened, ms. lerner could be charged with a crime and that is the only way, the only way she might tell the world what happened. if she can make some kind of deal. just one man will make that decision.
8:05 pm
the u.s. attorney for the the district of columbia, ronald machen. it's up for him alone to call for a grand jury. he works for attorney general eric holder and was appointed by president obama. so talking points does not expect ms. learn tore face a criminal proceeding. did the white house actually order the irs to target conservative groups? the president denied it to me on super bowl sunday and again we are not likely to get to the bottom of this because our system is flawed. you can't make lerner talk. for political reasons and, you know. in other matters, a muslim terrorist group kidnapped 300 girls. mostly ages 16 to threw 18 in nigeria. once again the world is shocked by accusations of radical muslim terrorists. scores of islamic groups terrorizing civilians all over the world. yet, what are the muslim nations doing about it? very little. should be a summit among muslim nations. organizing against the jihadists, but there is nothing. if you dare speak out
8:06 pm
against the muslim world, you're a bigot. you are a terrible person. i mean, how much trouble can one group cause on this earth? everybody knows most muslims are good people but a substantial minority cause trouble. muslim countries like iran, pakistan, syria, openly kill civilians with little accountability. another problem that seems to have no solution. kidnapping little girls? i mean, finally, very interesting social situation here in the u.s.a. gay football player michael sam drafted by the national football league to play for the st. louis raments, got a lot of coverage, mr. sam kissed his boyfriend on camera, all of that some pro-players objected to the cog and pony show. they were immediately trashed. talking points says this: let mr. sam play football, if he makes the rams, great. but the gay thing, way overplayed. it's annoying. it really is.

8:11 pm
implicated her in some way. i'm just saying that things -- you know mrs. clinton, correct? personally you know her? >> yes. i have known her for years. >> i don't know her well. did i one interview with her. i spent a little bit of time. you correct me if i am wrong, because you have known her for years. she not a micromanager person. she is the front person. all right? that got sent all over the world. constantly on the go. doing, i don't know what she was doing half the time. you couldn't really figure it out. but i can't imagine hillary clinton sit there and saying gee, what's going on in benghazi today? >> well, bill, look, when we do know what that mission was there, and what the ambassador was doing there, we'll have a better idea. >> okay. >> of whether that's something that might have involved the secretary. >> is it possible that hillary clinton would be paying attention to benghazi no matter how many warnings the state department got, they don't go to her. they go to other people. i just can't see it. now,. >> well, okay.
8:12 pm
>> is it wrong? remember, watergate, the third rate burglary? that was the first -- it was almost like the democrats today it was almost like nancy pelosi. it's almost exactly the same. third rate burglary. all right? doesn't matter. these guys, the plumbers broke into the watergate to try to find stuff about the democratic campaign. that's what we heard. we heard it and heard it and heard it. that's exactly what we are hearing in benghazi. this isn't a big deal. isn't it eerie? it's almost exactly the same. >> i think it's the same in the sense that in both cases we had a coverup. but, look, bill, before we start making water gate comparisons, it's worth remembering that nearly 70 people were accused in the end of crimes in watergate and i think 48 or so were convicted. so, we're a long way from talking about anything on that scale. >> we're not a long way from how the politicians are
8:13 pm
reacting. we're right there. and, when you are talking about a water gate break-in for political intelligence, which it was, as opposed to an american ambassador being murdered, what story do you think is more important? now, just on the face of it just on the face. watergate break-in, okay, ambassador stevens and three others murdered? benghazi is a bigger story. it's a bigger story than the initial break. in what separates it is, richard nixon covering it up to the extent where he had to leave office. and it took a while for them to uncover that but it certainly is possible in this case that it could lead to barack obama. i'm not saying it did. but it's possible. >> well, yeah. there is still so much we don't know that we can't really say. i'm just saying watergate turned out to be, you know, a crime wave, and until we see something that indicates something on that scale, i just think that watergate comparisons are best left on the shelf.
8:14 pm
>> okay. i disagree respectfully. >> i get that. >> respectfully. because, again, it's a progressive action. what happened in benghazied in the in just the act itself is much more important than a break-in. it's murder. >> but, bill, just a moment ago, you were saying that the person at the head of the department involved in this, you were basically absolving her of any blame for the incident itself. >> because i don't think -- i really sincerely believe she didn't know or didn't care what was happening in libya. >> all right. if she didn't, it's pretty hard to believe the president of the united states did. if it didn't reach her. >> oh, hume, no, no, no, no, no. >> are you talking about the coverup or the incident itself. >> yes. there you go. >> fine. >> look, i think. >> the question is, why wasn't there military action? why didn't barack obama get right on the horn and say mobilize? that's a big big question. >> well, and that night both -- he and secretary
8:15 pm
clinton would be involved. they would be involved in decision making. >> they should have been. >> i trust we'll soon find that out. >> right. >> it's one of the things we don't know. >> now the benghazi story gets bigger. it gets closer. where were they? why didn't they order military action? and then we now know that they cooked the books on the original what happened? they cooked them. >> and we don't know exactly what she did that night. and we don't know what he did that night. we don't even know really where he was in the white house. except that we are -- recently told that he wasn't in the situation room. so, there is a lot to be learned there. >> so you are now agreeing with me, i think. >> no. >> i'm not agreeing with you. this part of it doesn't remind me of water gate. >> all right. >> starting with susan rice and that absurd explanation, that is a coverup and that's where there is a parallel. >> i think. >> not on scale but. >> in these two stories i

and in the impact segment tonight, as you heard in the talking points memo, i think the muslim world has to be held more accountable for the violence committed in the name of allah. and i also think that the gay football thing is overdone. joining us now from washington mary katherine ham and juan williams both fox news analyst. juan, take the muslim world first. look, i mean, when is enough a enough with this jihadist movement? i mean, isn't it like 8 a of them now. they all have stupid names. and, you know, and then it's
8:20 pm
well, that all muslims aren't bad. yeah. we know. but when the is muslim world going to come together, some kind of cohesive anti-jihadist platform, juan? when? >> it's way overdue. with regard to these girls. where is the nigerian government? this is not -- you know, bill, this is a rich country, oil rich. but so riff with corruption and indifference and willing to even torture their political opponents that they are closing a blind eye to this islamic group that basically wants to establish their own islamic calafate in nigeria. what's going on with those girls this whole sex thing? you know what? i don't think people pay attention. they are making these girls for that sex slaves that is the talk of the globe. what they are doing is picking out the christian girls and then they are abusing them and leaving them in the jungle. >> okay. here it is. guess who has got special forces navy seals there now, guess?
8:21 pm
we, us, americans. >> navy seals? i haven't heard that. >> of course not, juan. i'm the guy who knows. you don't. all right? >> all right. >> they wouldn't tell you. >> no. >> do we have special forces from iran in there? how about pakistani special forces trying to hunt these guys down? how about saudi arabia? >> you mean not american? >> we have americans in there, mary katharine, trying to find these poor girls. all right? 300 of them. we have americans in there now. they're not going to tell you, but they are in there. where do the islamic government have anybody in there? did any troops come on in, the elite troops in pakistan or whatever? no. no. they don't. they never say anything. they don't do anything. go. >> i think you are definitely right about that the other thing is, too. when we read about how we didn't classify boko haram as a terrorist group we may have been turning a blind eye. >> most people thought that was a rock group boko haram. i don't know what that is. stupid guys running around in the jungle. >> people have picked on the #bring back our girls.
8:22 pm
#activity cab problem with substitute to action to paraphrase jonchts i think michelle obama is fine. >> when it spurez action it can be important. in this case when the governments are failing muslim women and these communities of women, they can rise up and have a way to speak about petitions. can you see thousands of them come together. i don't know if it will rescue these girls which breaks my heart. it may form a framework where you could build a community of women who stands up against this. and by the way the cultural left which is usually much more comfortable condemning someone like me or john boehner being a threat to women is talking about radical islam being a threat to women is powerful. maybe if they would let the woman who risked her life fighting for muslim women's right speak at brandeis and get hahn area degree that would have solid points as well. >> i know you are taking to the gender thing and that's not what i really am concerned about. >> that is a important part of this. i am concerned about governments cracking down on these groups all over the

place. >> the people have to rise up to hold them accountable. >> raise awareness of this thing. all right. get to the michael sam guy. mary katharine are you an nfl person? do you know the nfl. >> yes, i'm a fan. >> you are a fan, good. here is this guy in plays fort university of missouri comes out and is gay, that's all fine. gets drafted the second last pick, okay? now, i hope the guy makes it as i said. i hope the guy is a phenom. but i do need to see him and his boyfriend kiss, mary katharine? do you really need to see that? if it were a straight player and some other woman -- >> -- they would show it it they would totally show. >> it's the nfl draft. put your hull met on. get the face mask. okay? there is no kissing in football. >> i don't have a problem with it i think it's somebody celebrating the way they celebrate, fine. what i do think is that this is an important story. it is a national story because he is the first envelope player. -- nfl player. >> let him play. >> stand up for americans
8:24 pm
who look at this story, i'm not that interested. they are not haters or bigots they are just not that interested. >> it was in your face. the guy knew what he was doing michael sam and his boyfriend. they knew what they were doing. they were making a political statement, juan by doing it i didn't see -- i watched some -- i didn't anybody making out except these guys. mostly moms. guys saying to the you are the greatest. i'm so glad i can he help you or jesus christ or anybody. i didn't see anybody making out, did you? >> yeah. they kissed. i see taught time. i'm a big nba baseball guy. i see that all the time. i'm going to say. this i thought it was a little rash. i just thought it was so in your faces a you put it, bill. the thing is, look, if the guy can play football, let's get to the football. i just didn't need it is all i'm saying. >> that's a part of the story. i don't know how -- this is what is going to be interesting going forward with this story is how is his performance judged when people are so scared of being called bigots for, i
8:25 pm
don't know. >> i don't know, mary katherine. the guy is either going to succeed or he isn't. you have got. >> you better put it on the field. the real story here is this guy as a unanimous all american. the sec, defensive player of the year and he doesn't get picked in the second or third round? i think that's wrong. i think obviously something was going on there. >> juan is already blaming it on that. going forward that's going to be the story. >> that guy is a great player. look at missouri's performance. >> he was great. >> i hope the guy makes it but, you know, i think we should put the gay thing right in the drawer. let him see if he can compete. >> i'm all for it. >> i'm a georgia fan, i know missouri was good. >> all right. mary katharine and juan. we have a brand new bill o'reilly.com poll question. we're asking should the u.s. help nigeria rescue the kidnapped girl. should we get involved? yes or no. please vote on bill o'reilly.com. plenty more ahead as the factor moves along this evening. watters world talking to the two democratic congress people who trashed the g.o.p. as racist. bernie goldberg on how few

happen because they know the american people think they are liberal, which they are. they know the american people think they root for democrats, and they do. so they say, when the pollsters come around, they say no, no, we are independent. bias, democrat? no, this is a conservative delusion. and i will bet you if you injected these people with truth serum about 85% would admit they voted for barack obama twice. >> i think that's the poll that somebody did. i don't know how accurate you could be with that, but it was overwhelming vote for barack obama. but i think that the reason behind the liberalism in reporting is because the people who hire are liberals and they don't want people who aren't. i mean, we discussed this before, if you walk into the "new york times" newsroom or nbc news newsroom and you have a pro-life point of
8:41 pm
view, you are against abortion, you are ostracized. you can't exist there. >> exactly. exactly. that's why it is not just time, bill. it is long past time to adopt one of my many, many brilliant ideas. and that is affirmative action for republican in the media. >> in the media, right. >> this smallest minority in the american newsroom. you just told me this ridiculous poll but the 7%, i will buy that. if 7%, a lot more than 7% of the american people vote for the republican candidate, right? >> sure. >> so let's jump through a few hoops. >> we need them in college professors hiring too. >> absolutely right on that list. >> and, talking about colleges, condoleezza rice, former secretary of state very distinguished woman, very intelligent woman was
8:42 pm
invited by rutgers university, bernie goldberg's alma mater to give a commencement speech. immediately a pinhead alert was sounded. roll the tape. >> she played a rom meant role in the bush administration's to mislead the american people about the presence of weapons of mass destruction and she at the very least condoned the bush administration's policy of enhanced interrogation techniques such as waterboarding. and that does it for me. >> commencement speaker is honoring the speaker and also offering a students. and i think we could make better choices than to pick condi rice. >> you see now those pinheads, they don't know what they are doing because under that yardstick, you couldn't have anybody in the obama administration because they use drones. all right? >> exactly. >> drones is worse than waterboarding. you can't have anybody. >> exactly. barack obama won the nobel prize and he has killed more people with drones than any person in the history of the planet earth.
8:43 pm
now, i'm not against that for the most part. but, as you say, using that standard, you couldn't have him. hillary clinton voted when she was a senator, voted for going to war with iraq. and, by the way, my alma mater, they paid over $30,000 to get that snooki from new jersey shore, they paid her over $30,000 it to speak on campus. granted, they went were giving her an honorary doctorate, but snooki is okay and condoleezza rice is not okay. >> and very few people know this. >> there is something way out of whack there. >> very few people know this but i believe in her teens snooki did take part in some waterboarding down in, i think it was egg harbor, new jersey, very little known story. >> i think that happened. and, unfortunately, the waterboarding didn't take. >> wasn't she being waterboarded, it wasn't her. >> no, she was doing it. >> let's get off this. now, you are involved with
8:44 pm
rutgers to some extent. do you have an honorary -- what do you have there? >> well, i was -- well, this is a little, you know, i will be modest and say i was inducted into the equivalent of their hall of fame. the hall of distinguished. but that's why i'm especially troubled by. this you want to be proud of your alma mater. i'm ashamed of my alma mater it. now, the president of rutgers was on the right side of this. he thought condi rice should speak and he made that very clear. but what he didn't do, and so many presidents, they are just weak. what he didn't do is he should have told the professors i understand your position. i get it. now, move on. you are not going to agree with everybody all the time. and the students, he should have said to them, if any of you screw up this commencement exercise, and i have the power to do it, you won't get your diploma. >> you are a fascist. >> you will will get arrested and you won't get your dip employee matchett
8:45 pm
listen, they did this at rutgers. they did this add brandeis with the muslim world. they did this on the west coast where they disinvited a conservative scholar because he was going to hurt the feelings of the students. they did it fire fox, the web browser when the ceo of the company, the brand new ceo it came out that he had the wrong position on same sex marriage. this is liberal intolerance. liberal orthodoxy. and the bad news, bill, the bad news is getting away with it. >> it's liberal tyranny. but i think condoleezza rice, you know, i know her. and she probably did the right thing by not. >> i think she did. she did. all right. bernie. watters world on deck. calling the republican party racist? is that nice? watters moments away. i'm m-a-r-y and i have copd. i'm j-e-f-f and i have copd. i'm l-i-s-a and i have copd, but i don't want my breathing problems to get in the way
