families, my next guest, like myself, has taken issue with the twitter campaign launched by the left. michelle obama posted this picture on her twitter account with the hash tag, bring back our girls. stein titled his piece "bring back our balls." it's hard not to have total contempt for a political culture that thinks the picture at right is a useful contribution. some pa gentleman jgentleman -- showed she cared on social media and that's all that matters, isn't it? terrorists, they likely don't read twitter. even if they did, it would have zero impact on them.

the only thing they'd react to is a bullet in their brain. here tonight to react, mark steyn. >> good to be with you, sean. >> it garnered a lot of attention, but the reason it has is because you have struck a chord. this is an exercise in feel-goodism over what would be effective. why did you take such a strong stand? >> because i think there's a danger of communicating to the world the united states is not a serious power anymore. when celebrities do it, when alec baldwin or beyonce issues a twitter, celebrity activists are doing it to put pressure on government. mrs. obama is the government. she's the wife of the government. and the only point to doing this would be if the united states was involved in someway of

actually bringing back these girls. if you're going to say, bring back our girls, somebody has to bring them back. realistically, that's american special forces, british special forces, israeli special forces, or maybe a couple others. there's nobody else that can get these girls back alive. unless you're doing something to bring them back, this tweet is less than useless because it communicates to the world you're not a serious power. >> they're saying, sure we'll give you the girls back, but you have to release the terrorists that are imprisoned. this would not be an easy military operation by in means. here's the next question. what should the u.s. involvement be in your estimation? >> to be honest, nigeria -- i'm

a child of empire. nigeria is part of the british commonwealth. david cameron, who also posed with this useless hash tag, should be taking the lead here. by some accounts, these girls have been taken up river to cameroon and to chad. you could be operating in three countries. my preference here would be for the british sas in alliance with the americans and the french to actually go get these girls and kill the guys who took them. i've no use for tony blair, but about a decade ago, when members of the irish regiment were captured, he send the sas in there to get those guys back and kill the people who kidnapped them. that's the point. not actually starting a great social media campaign.

>> if we could rescue these girls and get them back to their parents, if we could use -- i would suggest we only use overwhelming force, we'd need the element of surprise somehow. our intelligence is being used there. we had a reasonable success that our guys aren't going to get hurt in the process. i think it would be a worthwhile exercise because it is a battle against terrorists that are declaring war on the entire world, advancing their ideology, but that understanding seems to be missing in the administration, mark. >> yeah. that's right. this group has killed 2,500 people this year. they ramp up the death toll of 9/11 in the first three or four months of the year.

welcome back to "hannity." a lot of 2016 buzz has been surrounding my next guest as of late. will he make a run for the white house? joining me now senator marco rubio. you're not going to give me the answer i want.

i'm wasting my time, right? >> thanks for having me back, sce sean. it's not time. >> i don't remember people asking barack obama that, do you? >> i'm a u.s. senator now. i'm focused on this job. i'll have a decision to make at the end of the year. i would line up my resume against his at this stage in his career having served in state government. it's not a full-time job, but i did serve as a speaker of the house majority leader. i served two years on a local government as well. our republican party by and large has a number of people that are much more qualified to hold that office than the man who's there now. >> there's a slight conflict of interest. you and jeb bush are very close. would it impact your decision if

he ran and what are your thought about him running? >> you're right about the fact we have worked together for a number of years. when someone thinks about running for something like that, like the presidency of the united states, i don't think you so by taking into account other people's decisions. you have to decide whether you have a concrete vision for the future and ideas about how to get the country there. i bet you he would tell you the exact same thing. >> it was kind of unique and a little bit refreshing to me. you said if you decide to run, you're all in. you don't go with the plan b. i'll also run for the senate at the same time. >> i don't think the decision one makes is, i want to be in office. if that's the presidency, great. if not, i'll keep what i have. you are so determined to serve the country in that role, that's all you're focused on. i don't criticize anyone else.

it won't be about creating a plan b. >> one of the things i'm really interested about is the fact that the top ten states for growth and opportunity by 500 ceos in the country, they're all red state governors. it's your state of florida second. texas, number one. you have scott walker's state. you have louisiana. louisiana and wisconsin have made huge leaps since they've elected conservative governors. i've been disappointed that in washington republicans have not rallied around a consensus aspiring agenda. balancing the budget, securing the borders. why is there no consensus plan? >> that's a good question. we haven't had enough public figures running about what we want to do. i also think it's important for

us to outline, this is what we will do if you put us in charge of government. primarily that means positioning this country to have another american century. it's a more difficult place to innovate and invest. we've become an unfriendly climate and a growing number of companies don't want to invest here and create jobs here because it is more expensive to do here because of regulations and rhetoric for government. we recognize that you're hurting and your insecure. it's clear after the last six years that big government doesn't solve it. here's what we would do instead. >> what would be your top five agenda items? i'm not trying to put you on the spot. >> we have a number of things we have to accomplish. first and foremost is to keep

our country safe. the best way to ensure our military will never have to go to war is to have a military that can win any war. it's our number one obligation is to keep our country safe. number two, i think we've got to grow our economy. it has to grow much faster and more robustly than it's doing now. that entails having a higher education system that teaches skills to have them get a job. it means allowing us to have access to markets in a way that's fair. selling more of our products like natural oil and gas, these sorts of things. i think that's critically important for our future. you touched a moment ago on immigration. as part of that, as a sovereign country, we have a right to enforce our laws. we don't have a mechanism to do that. our legal immigration system

needs to be changed so it is merit based, based on economic realities. not the outdated system we have now, which is about family reunification. >> how much time -- i guess there's some internal debate. i don't like the fact we're being lied to. we've been lied to and manipulated on benghazi and rogue agents in cincinnati as it relates to the irs, trying to silence opposition voices, americans were lied to about keeping their plan and doctor. how much of an issue is that for you? >> as an issue of character, it's a big deal. if you have leaders that are willing to mislead the public, it tells you about where they want to take the country. they view the country as children. they have the medicine that we need to take to make us better,

even if we don't like it. if they have to lie to us about what we're taking, they're going to make us do it because they know what's right for us. they won't level with the american people because if they did, they would never gain our support. the health care law is a perfect example of it. if you told americans they were going to disrupt the health care system, that's not something -- if we knew the truth, it would have never passed the democratic congress. >> appreciate you being with us. coming up next, karl rove is clearing up comments about hillary clinton having brain damage. reaction to that and this. >> what kind of guy goes to every city and has sex with every girl and then he catches

somebody who was -- >> george w. bush had one of the lowest resting heart rates. >> i think people may feel sorry for her because of all this. these are very legitimate questions, but we need to focus on the fact that it's not so much brain damage, but the fact that she's gone through american public life without leaving footprints. a u.s. senator from new york didn't enact any major legislation. her big project at the white house under bill clinton was hillary care, which blew up in her face. >> i don't remember bill clinton

ever giving his medical records. wasn't that big deal back when he was president? he didn't make public his medical records. i have my own theories. >> for all the candidates that he's looked at, the new york times and others, they do an exhaustive medical physical that -- i remember the john kerry one when it came out. it is a significant step because americans have to be assured that their president is healthy. >> john mccain, over a thousand packa packages we were looking at. >> does this person have the ability, the likelihood, they're not going to have significant health issues for the four years, maybe eight years, they're going to be president. can you tell that on average? you can tell by their heart or an extensive heart exam.

>> absolutely. to be totally fair, it looks like she's made a full recovery. we need to know what the risks are going to be if she's going to run for president. >> remember the left when chris christie was running for reelection. there were people on the left who said, he's way too obese to be able to run -- he could never make it through eight years. it's not unprecedented for people to try pose the question before they start running for office. >> what if those records include psychological notes? >> i think it's jermaine. >> what if they're on an anti-depressant? >> i think we're entitled to know that. >> remember under president bush, we had to submit the document that he smoked the
