lady, michelle obama, posted this on her twitter page with the hash tag, bring back our girls. now i've repeatedly said this and i'll say it again tonight. terrorists, they likely don't read twitter. if they did, it would have zero impact on them. the only thing they'll react to is probably a bullet in their head. despite multiple requests, the u.s. state department under hillary clinton refused to designate boca haram a foreign terrorist organization while she was secretary of state, leaving the u.s. with far less intelligence on the group. the ignorance on the left is not limited to washington. some celebrities finally spoke out against sharia law, but only after it encroached on their

posh beverley hills hotel. i do applaud their efforts. they're pretty late to the game. they have failed to recognize the rise of radical islam over the years. we have been sounding this alarm about how brutal and inhumane sharia law is, especially to women, for four years. watch this. >> here's what sharia law will represent, at least in other states, saudi arabia being one. women obtain permissions for their daily freedoms. execution of people that are gay. women in afghanistan under sharia can't work or go to school. people's hands get chopped off. if you get raped as a woman, you need four male eyewitnesses to

prove that a rape has happened. the country sits on a brink of coming under fundamentalist sharia law where women have no rights. i hear one thing from the usual deafening voices of liberal women's groups. silence. we bring in our studio audience for reaction. brooke, you've been on this program. what do you think of the hash tag twitter campaign? thoughts? >> a lot of people have argued it is the hash tag diplomacy that's shed light on the islamist war against christians all over the world, but it is the sheer brutality and the acts of terror that have, you know, shaked our collective consciousness and we've woen kep despite the fact that the state

department lobbied labeling boca haram as a terrorist group. >> why would hillary listen when they know what a terrorist group is all about? >> the state department is engaged in a deceptive campaign that denies the radical islamist terrorism. >> neither christians or jews as your friend. where is that? >> i don't know. >> that would be in the koran. >> for your years, hillary clinton, female secretary of state, millions of miles, 200 countries, all over the world. she knew exactly about sharia law. she did nothing for years to publicize. she has some blood on her hands

relative to her years as secretary of state and her failure to put the cheese on the cracker when it came to sharia law. why didn't our female secretary of state do something? where was hillary clinton? >> women in saudi arabia, they can't drive. they can't be seen in public with men they're not related to. we know women under sharia are stoned to death. women in some countries under sharia, four male eyewitnesses when they are raped. >> that's right. >> so the question, why didn't they designate this -- >> this might blow your theory that all of us on the left are ignorant. >> i don't think so, but you can try. >> hillary was wrong in not taking the advice in not labeling them as a terrorist group. it's the people who gave her the advice, the fbi, that told her not to label them as a terrorist

group. moveon.org at any given time, they have about a thousand petitions there. they don't put them up. other people do. the petition you're referencing was put up by someone a couple years ago. 100 people signed it. >> but you even admitted and acknowledged they didn't listen to the fbi. >> hillary was wrong. don't put it on moveon.org because it's silly. >> how many people think the hash tag campaign is effective? >> so as an entertainment reporter, this is what i can say. a lot of people, especially the younger generation, my mother, my grandmother, they get their news on twitter with your smartphones, your blackberries too. a lot of people who didn't know what was going on have learned about it by seeing this hash tag. even though a lot of people are

criticizing michelle obama and celebrities for tweeting this, then maybe a 15, 16-year-old is going to click on that link and then learn about it. it is all about bringing awareness. i don't see what's wrong with that. >> i think it makes america look weak when the first lady of the united states does that. >> that's one of the main points you can bring up. michelle obama, who is she saying, bring back our girls to? it does weaken us. it is a little upsetting when it becomes trendy to do this. there's a russian supermodel who just did a topless version of this saying, bring back our girls. >> that might get a little more attention. >> hello? isn't that the point? >> she probably wants it for herself. >> yes. >> for women who are living under sharia, it's not -- why

are you complaining? >> it's the most ridiculous thing i have heard. the tea party were exercising their rights -- >> let me tell you the difference. >> just because the first lady joined a million people. come on. why doesn't she have the right to do that? >> it's a sign of their utter impotence and their inability to defend our freedoms. that's what it's a sign of. >> how is that impacting? >> this hash tag is literally what the terrorists want. boca haram has been trying to make a name for itself since 2008. this hash tag, the first lady has suddenly given this al qaeda affiliate the global attention it wanted. she made the situation worse. >> that's the reason hillary

clinton did not put them on the terrorist list. >> do you look like judith? >> boca haram is an indigenous group that gets money from al qaeda. the reason it wasn't designated was because there was a fight between the foreign service officers versus the fbi. >> as they were killing thousands of christians, muslims, and women. >> that may have been the wrong decision, but let's not turn it into a conspiracy or indifference. what they've done is forced the hapless leader of that country to do something serious for the first time to reign in that group. she may be late to the party. >> she is the first lady of the united states of america. it makes us look weak. i would be willing -- we have a special forces person here. if we really want to do

something -- right now we're offering reconnaissance. the next step is not going to be a twitter campaign. it's going to a bullet in every one of the heads of those guys. that's the only way to get them back. period, end of sentence. >> why is this all on hillary? he has favored the islamist agenda since the very first. he has time and time again sancti sanctioned good luck his attempt to fight boca haram. >> i think we're missing the major point here, which is how effective is american foreign policy? the president continues to set up american strong men. he says, we don't want boots on the ground. we're going to do something down here. we're going to have a hash tag

campaign. american foreign policy is conducted in that space in between. if we cannot do this for the nigerians -- the nigerian government has not decided to rescue these girls. we can't do it. >> it is either going to be u.s. special forces, israeli special forces, maybe the french or the british. this is the equivalent of a raid. what should our role be? should special forces be used to save those girls? >> my opinion is absolutely. let me say this one thing. >> because it is against terror. it is bigger than nigeria. >> i was in the fbi for eight years here in new york. i keep hearing the fbi being blamed for this. during the clinton era, eight years, it became very unpopular to be a war fighter. war fighters got out of the

welcome back to "hannity." the kidnapping of the nigerian schoolgirls has brought the realities of the horror of boca haram. causing bombings, assassinations, and now abductio abductions in nigeria. my next guest spend three weeks in the refugee camps near the nigerian border. he's here to explain what he's heard and what he's seen. you also brought back with you a girl that she just turned 15, but she witnessed -- and she spoke earlier this week at the

hudson institute -- she watched boca haram kill her father and torture her brother, right? >> yes. i brought debbie to the states last year. she didn't just return with me. but yes, they did come to her home. they exterminated her family and they left her alive because she was female. the terrorists have retooled and what they now do is they abduct the females. before, they used to have an exception not to harm females, that that that's changed. >> they killed her father right in front of her. watch this. >> my dad refused to deny his faith. they shoot him three times in his chest. my brother was in shock. he said what did my dad do to you? why did you kill him? they told him to be quiet.

they found a gun and shot him too. >> you were there. tell us what you're seeing in these refugee camps. >> what we're seeing is really very pathetic. the day we went to the camp, we saw food being distributed to the refugees. so we asked them what the food situation was like. they said, this was the first time in 49 days that the united nations was giving them food. so these people who have run into the arms of the u.n. for refuge are being starved to death in those camps. the really sad thing is the same week while we're there, boca haram attacked a village and killed about 300 people and thousands more fled over the border to join the folks already starving in the camps. >> is that cameroon? >> yes. >> you have been there. you've seen the brutality.

thousands have been killed. the question is two-fold. one, why didn't the united states designate them as a terror organization, and what do you think of this twitter campaign? how would they react to them considering you know how they are? >> well, i'll tell you this. i personally wrote a 75-page brief to secretary clinton laying out the evidence and the legal reasoning why they qualitied to be designated as a terrorist organization. >> when was this? >> i sent it, i want to say, in 2012. i did not get an acknowledgment. >> you sent a 75-page letter saying they should be added as a terrorist group. she didn't respond. you would at least deserve an acknowledgment. why do you think they chose not to? >> it's funny.

the state department is in a state of denial. even up until today in a hearing hill, they're claiming that boca haram abducted these girls because they want to fundraise, not because it's islamic terrorism. they said they're going to sell the girls for 12 bucks. how much are they going to raise? that's $3600. that doesn't make any sense. today, this is what they said on the hill. the denial hasn't stopped. they keep doing this. for some reason -- >> you know them. how do you think -- do you think they're happy that the first lady of the united states is putting up a hash tag on twitter, bring back our girls? do they like that? does that give them the acknowledgment they crave? >> this is a terror group that's been mouthing off for many years. they talked about president bush

when he was in power. they have talked about the queen of england and president obama. yes, this certainly energizes them. now they feel that they belong. they've been bin laden wanna-bes and now they belong to the big boys club. >> by being recognized by the first lady of the united states of america, to them, that's like a seal of approval. that's a moment of arrival for them, her acknowledging them that way and almost in a very weak way. the only response of the united states should be brutal force. if we're going to get involved, get involved and take them out. >> very frankly, i have to tell you this. the u.s. has been weak on multiple levels. state department has refused to acknowledge americans who survived a bombing by boca ha m

haram. there was an fbi agent in the building when it was bombed. still the state department refused to designate them as a terror organization when they attacked americans. >> this is a very difficult quandary. we have fiscal financial deficits we have not seen in our history. there's an argument about the appropriateness where does america get involved. we can't be the world's policemen. where does that line end? i'm of the belief if we can help, we should. keep us updated. >> thank you. coming up, should the u.s. send special forces to nigeria? we'll check in with our military experts. then a shocking story of a woman

get the girls back. worse things are happening in syria. look at what's going on in north korea. where is evil? i say right now we don't belong in this conflict. bring the american soldier home. >> what about reconnaissance and intelligence? is that okay? >> if we can use drones or snipers or something anti-septic, i say yes. i like what judith miller is saying. i don't understand why we have to be the world's policemen. we cannot help them, sean hannity. >> lisa. i'll get to everybody. >> we have already committed to helping them. we have intelligence researchers on the ground. what we should really bring back u.s. exceptionalism. what does that mean? can you give chloe a copy of that? >> it doesn't mean i don't agree with it. >> this means an acknowledgment

of what terrorism is and christian persecutionism. what's happening to the people of iran, the journalists that are being jailed in saudi arabia. this is an acknowledgment of all of it. >> you're in the media. it's interesting to me that all of a sudden jay leno and ellen degeneres jump on board. shar sharia, the oppression of women is now an issue. has the media been negligent in mentioning this? >> yes. this commitment of material and men to nigeria wouldn't have happened without a broad social media campaign. seven weeks before these women

were kidnapped, boca haram slaughtered children and burned them alive. not a word was mentioned. it's infuriating. >> well, i don't think it's enough to confront just those who act out radical islam ideology. you have to attack the people who are causing that. i went to a group that's based in california. what did i find? i found a fatawa where they said it was justifiable to use slaves during a time of war.

>> i run a think tank there. as a resident of nigeria, you do see in the media reporting locally about these issues and the attacks boca haram is carrying out. i think the international attention is a good thing with respect to holding the government more accountable within the international community to take a harder line against this group. >> doesn't boca haram really want to implement sharia law? >> that's a very strong political element to this. the timing of this horrific act is to put increasing pressure on the government because the president is considering reelection. the downside of international attention is it's changing the nigerian narrative. it's the largest economy in africa. it's attracting international investment. there's a tremendous amount of opportunity there. i live there. i work there.
