it's a kelly file exclusive tomorrow night at 10:00 p.m. eastern. set your dvr. thanks for watching, everybody. this is "the kelly file." something special is happening right on the other side of that camera. wait for it. this is a fox news alert. election results, they are in on this busy super tuesday primary night. we turn to carl cameron. he's standing by in d.c. tonight with the election results. >> in kentucky from the very start it was clear. it's been clear for weeks that mitch mcconnell would easily beat matt beavan. he couldn't compete with mcconnell's money and organization. mcconnell may have a much tougher general election battle against democrats. democrats want to oust mcconnell
10:01 pm
bad and say they're going to spend millions to do so. it is not easy in a red state like kentucky. georgia senate primary is not yet over. no one cleared the 50% hurdle. the top two candidates may end up being david perdue and jack kingston. they'll have to go to a run-off in july. democrats down in georgia had hoped the republicans would nominate a tea partier that couldn't win. but tonight, the guys are considered mainstream republicans. the two nominees have been known for some time in arkansas. mark pryor and thomas.
10:02 pm
onto pennsylvania, tom wolf will go against tom corbett in the fall. margolies lost her primary, a primary campaign that had the help of bill and hillary clinton. didn't seem to make much difference. we're watching the oregon senate race. this is a close, close race. after tonight, we'll have 125 primaries completed. as of this moment, not a single incumbent has lost a tea party primary. >> hey, carl, let me ask you one quick question. going back to kentucky, matt beavan called mitch mcconnell a pretend conservative, people hungry for something that is
10:03 pm
real. >> it's been very nasty. >> do we get any word? is he going to unite behind mcconnell? >> of course, he will. mcconnell asked his audience of supporters to give a round of applause to mr. beavan and thanked him for a long, hard fight and urged republicans to unite. republicans are finding candidates who are electable. some are tea party types. some are normal more mainstream conservatives. some are hybrids. republicans look very strong as they head into their general election. >> good to see you my friend. joining us now live, john roberts. what's going on there? >> reporter: they still talk about you down here, sean.
10:04 pm
david perdude, the polls had hi up ahead. he is running about 10,000 votes ahead. the results, painfully slow coming in. it is looking like this is going to be another victory for establishment candidates over the tea party. you have david perdue, he was the ceo of dollar general. jack kingston, ranks very highly on the american conservative union. the tea party backed candidates all running well behind at this point. it's looking like this could shape up a battle between david perdue and jack kingston.
10:05 pm
it's a no-brainer for a republican to take it over. michelle nunn is running for strong. she's ahead of everyone except maybe perdue. republicans down here in georgia have been saying, we have to be sure to get the right person to go up against michelle nunn in november. people who could cross over a number of different voting groups are out in the lead. jack kingston's district is 28% african-american. he wins by a considerable margin every number of years. the two of them really taking each other on, just heading into this early primary. david perdue getting less in election jargon.
10:06 pm
he's a newcomer running as an outsider. when asked if he favored rev new raises or tax cuts to lower the deficit, he said both. he has pledged not to raise taxes. an early indication of the level of rhetoric we could see in this race. i was talking to a david perdue insider. he said it's going to be a street brawl. >> michelle nunn had a big fumble on the issue of where would you have voted on health care. she gave a very weak answer. that's being played up big time. >> it is. the answer that is being played publicly is an edited answer.
10:07 pm
the original is more full, i guess you could say. there was no question you would think that a candidate who is in her position would have a stronger answer than the one that she did, but she laid out a little bit more level of detail. i assume the next time she's asked that question she'll have a more direct answer and one that's got a little bit greater level of detail than what was there the other day. >> i usually stay out of primaries. i've known jack kingston for 25 years now. that was one i stayed in. this is going to be a fight from now until july. thank you so much for being with us. >> it's looking like you can stick with it for another couple of months, sean. let me bring in our panel tonight. steve hayes is with us, juan williams, and larry sabado is with us.
10:08 pm
steve, i'm thinking jack kingston's a conservative. david perdue is a conservative. >> i think the tea party versus establishment mean that's been pushed by the mainstream medium while there's some truth to it has been overdone. if you go back and look at the georgia senate debates on the republican side, i remember the third debate which was back in february. you had perdue open up with an opening statement in which he called for bold entitlement reform. he stumbled on revenues versus tax increases. this is not someone who is a castle type from delaware. he's pretty conservative. >> what do you think, larry, as we look at the races here tonight? we had mixed results this week and last week. i would think everybody would agree they didn't want to have a situation like todd akin like
10:09 pm
last time. that's part of where some people were getting more involved in the primary process, right? >> absolutely. look, i think what you just said applies to the two most important races so far tonight. first, kentucky. the democrats wanted to get a break in kentucky. they wanted to get a break in georgia. they didn't get a break in either one. they had hoped matt beavan would beat senator mitch mcconnell or give him a real scare by launching him weekly into the general election. mcconnell is in good shape in this deeply red state. georgia, yes. it depends on how these two run-off finalists conduct their campaigns. they could end up destroying one another, but i kind of doubt it. the democrats were hoping that congressman brown or congressman
10:10 pm
gingry would get the nomination. they didn't get it. instead they're going to get a mainstream conservative in this red state. >> every democratic candidate, juan williams, they have an issue of the polls. look at the political poll that came out this week. the country is not buying that the democratic agenda. they don't think things are getting better. they don't like obamacare. they don't think the debate on obamacare is over. >> i don't think that's what the polls show. >> 60% said that in that poll. >> republicans are strongly positioned to do well in the midterms in large part of who turns out. if you look at those polls that you're citing, i look at them a little differently, what's clear is, in fact, it's tea party energy who has the people who
10:11 pm
are most likely to turn out in this election. you can expect a big night for the republicans. as we look at these races individually, i think you get a different picture. the picture is contrary to what i'm hearing from my colleagues on this panel. the tea party did get squashed. you said balanced. it was that race in nebraska. other than that -- >> juan, i'm from georgia. jack kingston, who is in the run-off, has a 97% rating from the american conservative union. >> that hasn't mattered to tea party people in the past. they've seen him as an establishment conservative. >> you cannot cast this battle tonight in georgia as tea party versus establishment. i'll let larry and steve weigh in.
10:12 pm
steve? >> go ahead. >> your point on jack kingston is a good one. he's been a pretty solid conservativ conservative. he may have done some more spending than tea party conservatives would like, but this is not somebody who fits the profile who gave rise to the tea party candidates in 2010. very moderate republicans often voted with democrats when you're talking about castle in delaware and others. this is a totally different group. mitch mcconnell's american conservative rating is very high. >> larry, we'll give you the last word tonight. >> there's a learning curve here for republicans, whether they're tea party or mainstream. they realize that both the establishment and the tea party threw away the senate
10:13 pm
candidacies in 2010 and 2012. they're looking for winners. so far, they have been finding those people. >> all right. guys, good to see you. coming up, we're going to continue to bring you the latest updates on the primary races tonight. one of president obama's closest advisers behind closed doors about the va tonight. that and much more on this super edition of "hannity" as we continue. i make a lot of purchases for my business.

allegations of neglect at this is a fox news alert. tonight they are brand new allegations of neglect at another va hospital. this time in gainesville, florida. patients there were placed on a secret paper waiting list. that new report comes on a day when the deputy chief of staff sat down with representatives from well-known veterans organizations. my next two guests are here to tell us exactly what the administration is saying behind
10:17 pm
closed doors. guys, welcome to the program. thanks for being with us. >> thank you for having us. >> bring us inside this meeting today. obama said in 2008 he'd fix it. promised in 2009, 2012, 2013. he hasn't fixed anything. what are they saying behind closed doors? >> go ahead. >> i don't know if you'd call it behind closed doors. we were all meeting at the veterans service organizations with mr. neighbor. pretty much they gave us the plan on how they going to go out to different veterans administration hospitals, review what's going on, talk to patients. >> hang on a second. wait a second. where's the urgency? we have vets dying. inside, i would send an emergency team in. get a list of every vet that's in danger of dying that needs
10:18 pm
attention. did they bring that up? >> i think the fact they're sending a deputy chief of staff from the white house is their sense of urgency. >> do you think that's the appropriate response when vets are dying? >> we don't know veterans have died because they're on a waiting list. >> excuse me, i believe we do. with all due respect, i sent ainsley earhardt. she spoke to the families. >> i believe they were on a waiting list. >> no, they died while waiting. >> i understand that. >> i interviewed one last night where a father-in-law was urinating blood and they didn't care. it's already come out. 40 vets died while waiting for care. >> i happen to know the iag. this is a guy of integrity. he's not controlled by anybody at the va.
10:19 pm
he comes out of the secret service. he's a professional who knows how to do his job. >> but we have 167 others that were paid off by the government because of bad care because they were waiting as well. i mean -- >> look, the problem here is exactly what i said in the senate hearing last thursday. we do not have enough clinicians. that's been true for the last 15 years. we have told the same thing to the clinton administration, to the bush administration, and to the obama administration. and the reason why people play games with the scheduling is because people aren't admitting that we do not have enough clinicians. as i said last thursday, i will say it here again. we need to look at every single position within the veterans health administration. if you're not engaged in direct clinical care to veterans, you have to justify taking up a position.
10:20 pm
those people need to be clinicia clinicians. >> this is happening. phoenix did not. they had a secret list, waiting list. i've interviewed family members that were on that list with a broken back for five months with no care. a broken back. a woman was on this program. we had family members crying saying the va killed their loves ones on this program. 167 payouts. the same fraudulent system is being used in albuquerque, in colorado and west virginia. now florida. >> if any veteran dies under va care, it's a tragedy and it shouldn't happen. what the va should be doing right now is finding ways to make sure that doesn't happen again. i believe that they're actually doing that now. i mean, we met with some of their administrative leaders today from around the country
10:21 pm
and they're taking a good, hard look at themselves because they have to. they're under the microscope. >> guys, maybe it's because i've heard their stories and played them. it is beyond shocking to me that anybody that has served this country is not getting the medical care they need. the fact they have a secret waiting list so they can cook the books is just a national disgrace to me. the fact that i don't sense urgency in you guys or the administration, i'm surprised. >> we've told them point blank they ought to change every supervisor and manager's position within va if you lie or if you've wrecked your -- people who work under you, misuse the system, that is subject to immediate relief and suspension
10:22 pm
and beginning of proceedings for dismissal. we also passed the management accountability act which will make it easier to get rid of senior executives, who are difficult to fire right now. >> i hope you both will stay with us and watch the next segment. when we come back, you'll hear from families of two of the victims of the va's neglect. that's coming up tonight. we also have more super tuesday results. we're going to bring you the very latest results as they happen. we also have a live report out of georgia regarding the hotly contested primary in that state. we'll check in with ann coulter and what she has to say about the results. straight ahead.
