tune in tomorrow night. care strikes again. she joins us live to respond. set your dvr now. tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m. see you then. and this is a fox news alert. today for the very first time in nearly two years the commander in chief found time in his busy schedule to sit down with the secretary of veterans affairs. that's where we begin on this very busy news night tonight on "hannity." >> i said we would systematically work to fix these problems and we have been working really hard to address them. >> it turns out that that's not the first time president obama vowed to solve the va's issues.
10:01 pm
>> cut those backlogs, slash those wait times, deliver your benefits sooner. >> why should we trust him now? colonel oliver north and governor sarah palin break down the scandal. hollywood exposed. >> knowing where the money comes from. >> two left wing celebrities caught on an undercover camera selling out america. i knew something was wrong when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man's arms. something is wrong here. the man made famous for helping free the kidnap victims in ohio, he's here with his brand-new book. bring the boy home. >> "hannity" starts right here right now. this was 23 days ago and
10:02 pm
finally today our commander in chief, he took time out of his busy schedule to address this situation. here's what he said. >> i know that people are angry. i sympathize with that, but we have to let the investigators do their job and get to the bottom of what happened. our veterans deserve to know the facts. their families deserve to know the facts. once we know the facts, i assure you if there is misconduct, it will be punished. >> people died, mr. president. what other proof could you need? he tried to convince the american people he tried to fix these problems since he took office. >> even though we have not heard of problems out of these phoenix facility or other facilities, it takes too long for veterans to get the care they need. that's not a new development.
10:03 pm
that's been a problem for decades. it's been compounded by more than a decade of war. that's why when i came into officer, i said we would systemically work to fix these problems and we have been working real hard to address them. >> and this is the result of his so-called hard work? give me a break. how can our veterans possibly trust him now? my next guests say they both lost their husbands as a result of the va. also joining me is a worker of the va phoenix hospital. thank you all for being here. before i ask you your specific stories -- it's amazing the media is not asking people who have been victimized in this scandal to tell their stories. let me just play for everybody a montage of the president saying that the va is broken and that
10:04 pm
he's going to fix it. he's been saying it now for seven years. >> no veteran should have to fill out a 23-page claim to get care or wait months, even years, to get an appointment at the va. a true test of our patriotism is to serve our heros as well as they have served us. the impossibly long lines or the repeated calls for help that get you nothing more than an answering machine. how could we let this happen? how is this accept able in the united states of america? the answer is it's not. this leads me to another promise i made four years ago. i promised to strengthen the va and that promise has been kept. >> the president claims he had no idea. he learned all of this on tv.
10:05 pm
he said it all throughout the years he's been president. welcome to the program. connie, let me start with you. you lost your husband. tell us your story. >> i lost him three years ago, took him to the va behind me, va hospital, for a pinched nerve. april 6th, brought him into the emergency room. around 5:00, we were finally seen the next morning by a doctor. he just never checked wayne out. never talked to him about his situation. just talked about his own personal problems with his back and everything else. and then looked at wayne and said, okay, so what do you want me to do? what did they do for you last time? they gave me some oxycotin and sent me home. >> it was the same issue. he never really got the care that he needed in the beginning.
10:06 pm
how many years later was it when you went back and he went in for a simple check and he came out quadrapolegic. >> he went upstairs 3:45, 3:50. he was fine. he was smiling. gave me a kiss and told me, i'm hungry, get me something to eat. >> wow. and he died six days later. what do the autopsy guys say? it sounds like they dropped him. sounds like he got dropped on the floor. >> yes and somebody kind of came over him. that's how the doctor explained it to me. almost like a real bad whiplash effect. >> the autopsy doctor suggested you get a lawyer, right? >> yes. >> all right. let me go to deborah.
10:07 pm
deborah, your husband served in vietnam. tell us his story. >> okay. mel was having pains in his pelvic area and he was concerned because he was passing blood. so we went to his primary care physician in the va clinic. the doctor told him three times, and i heard it, that blood in your urine is nothing to be concerned about. we have always heard that once you see blood, you should go to the doctor immediately. >> right. >> so we finally got an appointment in october, october 17, 2011, to the northern va in prescott. >> how long was it from the time -- how much blood, first of
10:08 pm
all, was -- i guess he was urinating this blood. how much are we talking about? >> it was quite a bit. each time he would urinate, there would be like maybe a couple of blood clots, a quarter cup of blood. >> a quart, a half a gallon? >> maybe a half a cup of blood. >> so what happened in the end? >> well, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer at prescott va october 17th. the va behind us was not able to do the bladder removal surgery and bladder prostate and appendix be removed. they couldn't do that, so they started him on his chemotherapy and they approved the
10:09 pm
outsourcing to the mayo clinic to get the chemotherapy. they wanted him to do the surgery after the therapy stopped. >> and they couldn't do it. >> they waited eight months. the va didn't approve us for eight months. >> if they don't approve it, they're writing a death sentence. is that how you feel? >> that's right. the doctor said your cancer has already spread to your lymphnodes. >> troy, you are a former marine. hon honorably discharged. what do you know about the secret waiting lists and the care t the fraudulent data that apparently has been
10:10 pm
going on there? >> we used it every day. it wasn't a secret to any of us. we would pull up patients demographic information, print off the list, and we would write on the back of it, patient needs new patient appointment and we would write the date that we wrote that on there. that would then go into a folder behind the primary care clinics desks and at the end of every day, that folder was collected and turns into this mass pile of paperwork, which is what everybody is calling the secret wait list. >> so there was a secret wait list. how long was it usually? >> i don't even know. i'd go back to that office frequently. i was friends with the worker who was assigned to contact the patients about appointments. >> do you know for a fact that the people that were put on that
10:11 pm
long wait list that they needed immediate care? did you know that? >> some of them yes, because i was able to pull up their information and it would in their medical chart say they were an urgent patient, which would push them more forward on the list. that's the only time though. >> i really am sorry. our country has failed you here. i want to thank you, troy, for speaking up. you're a whistle-blower. sorry about the background noise. there is a lot of it. coming up, colonel oliver north, he's here next to weigh in on the va scandal. later, governor sarah palin, she's here. she's calling out the left. they throw a fit when people dare to question hillary clinton's health. why were those on the left silent when her children were

welcome back to "hannity." another scandal erupts inside the obama white house, the president broke his silence today regarding the allegations of the va. joining me now is colonel oliver north and legal analyst peter johnson jr. colonel, you heard these people. i've been interviewing those who have lost loved ones. their stories are horrifying. america has broken faith with those who have done so much for us. >> no doubt about it, sean. >> the president was clinical today. >> it was like a civics lesson in detachment and disengagement. now twhat do all the scandals have in common? he didn't know about it. the fact is, if he was madder than hell, he's obviously gotten over it.
10:16 pm
he held no one accountable, but he promises to do so. he wants to get to the bottom of it and that's going to take time. this is an administration who has a record of coverups. i'll leave it to peter, the legal expert on that. but for me, a veteran, somebody who has been contacted by at least 150 people when we addressed this over a month ago, i've been contacted by all kinds of people who want whistle-blower status just like troy and the kinds of people we're hearing from have horror stories. some of the things that i read in the reports they have sent me, sean, are the kinds of stuff that sends the hair on the back of my neck curling. >> peter, from a legal standpoint, when you see these facilities, isn't it suspicious they all found the same tactic and technique? >> it is suspicious. i have the evidence of it.
10:17 pm
i have received 1500 e-mails, and it documents an effort by this white house -- i've got to tell you. we have more concern at the white house level in this country for dead veterans in national cemeteries than living veterans who go to these hundreds of facilities around the country. time after time, as the colonel has pointed out, it will make you cry. >> it does. >> i have dozens of stories of veterans dying because of the va. dying. >> he's interviewing the people, the families who have lost loved ones, and they're crying on this show and my radio show. d desperate and alone, these people. legally, what remedy is available to them? >> if you have a complaint, go the inspector general. write to the white house. if you have a lawsuit, bring a lawsuit against the federal government. if you have a criminal claim, go

we went down there. when you take the route that he drove, he came over a parking lot. on his right was mexico. he was still on the american side. on his left was san diego. there was a turn going to the left. it's a turn i would have taken. if you take that turn left, you're not going to san diego. it loops back down under the road and you go immediately into mexico a hundred yards away. there's a big cement barrier. there's no u-turn, no change lanes. you make that wrong turn, you're in mexico. he arrives at the check point and says, i have guns, and they arrest him. >> here's what's frustrating me. anything we can do to join your effort, i applaud your efforts here. >> make a lot of noise. talk about it. >> the president tomorrow is taking executive action on airport wait times. really? and we have a marine in jail for no good reason in mexico.

john kerry down there. help me out. what's wrong with that picture? >> the warden gave us the run around. the consulate from the u.s., they've had some weekly contact with him. but what really needs to happen is the president needs to use our diplomatic muscle in mexico and say, look, accelerate the process. this was accidental that he ended up in mexico. you can't violate the law accidentally like that. the law is whether he intended to have the guns in mexico. well, he never intended to be in mexico. but instead he's going to languish. it could be weeks, months, years unless someone steps in to accelerate the process. give the guy a fair shot at this. > >> i support the effort.
