out is detective thomas. thank you for joining us and being here. we need to point out, you still work at the va, is that right? >> yes, eric, that's correct. >> why -- let's start with this, what are you seeing? is going on? you talk about drug dealing. explain, please. >> drug dealing is pretty much a regular occurrence there. >> how? >> it's very easy, actually. the patients come out front. there is a smoking area. they bring their prescription drugs or any type of other drugs, they all hang out in one large group and they start asking each other if they are interested in buying the prescriptions that they just filled at the prescription pharmacy there. >> so they are negotiating. detective, you're watching this. what do you do when this goes on? >> it's very difficult to actually say that you know for a fact that this is occurring. i've had veterans that have come up to me and said hey, listen,

somebody asked me if they could buy their medication from them, and it's been -- it's been very difficult because i'll approach an individual and say listen, it's been reported that you're dealing drugs. you're selling your prescription. you're trying to buy prescription drugs, and unless i've got some type of evidence to support that, it's not like i can say okay, let's file charges against this individual in the u.s. attorneys office. i have to be able to have solid evidence. >> let's say you do have solid evidence. have you talked to supervisors? have you told the hospital administrators this is going on? if you have, what have they said? >> i actually prepared a written plan, if you will, pertaining to an undercover operation so we can try to at least identify who our targets are for the drug

sales, and i presented that in an e-mail, and i'm still waiting on a response. i submitted it about two years ago. >> okay. so as this va scandal starts to unwind, people more and more, whistle-blowers are coming forward and we would call you one. you've seen patients stealing drugs from cabinets, have you seen that? >> no, i can't say that i've ever seen a patient stealing drugs from cabinets. i have certainly a couple years ago, i used to investigate daily a controlled substance discrepancies that have occurred within the miami va, their pharmacies and they put a stop to that about two years ago, as well. >> detective, you mentioned that there were some theft of some property, as well, at some of the va hospitals. what do you know about that? >> well, i'm the primary investigator for the miami va health care system. it's three very large counties

in south florida, and what i can tell you is any time that there is an account. we have an accountability process with the medical center. any time some of our equipment or equipment within the medical center goes missing, it has to be reported to the police. i can say that i've done millions of dollars of investigations in a year's period. i mean, i've gone to a patient's home and recovered a piece of property that was somewhere around 45 to $50,000. it was just left there after the patient moved. it was found and determined that this property actually still belonged to the miami va. >> i have to go. detective, tell us exactly why you're coming forward right now. >> because it's been -- i've tried so many times to reach out to individuals and all i have done is basically talked to the wall. i haven't gotten anywhere with it. >> we'll have to leave it there -- >> after this -- after --

>> go ahead. >> after mr. cutter had, had expired on the fifth floor of the miami va, i brought up the fact that this is not being investigated propertyly. there are so many things that have occurred that are an absolute disgrace. i know mr. cutter's mom for example, she was told that he had -- they believed he died choking on a sandwich. that's absurd when we knew, everybody knew that he was utilizing illegal narcotics. >> we need to point out to the out ye audience that mr. cutter was a patient you felt was using drugs and dealing drugs, as well, is that right? >> i was informed that he was bringing them on to the va grounds. i can't tell you if it was just for personal use or if it was

intended to be sold, but i can tell you that i do know that it was for personal use. i just don't know if he was selling them to other people. >> we'll leave it there, detective. thank you very much. my next guest, jd gordon has traveled to guantanamo bay more than 30 times during his time at the pentagon and tonight, he says he has proof that terrorists received better medical treatment than americans who fought and risked their lives for the country. tell us a little bit about what you saw. tell us what you think is going on in relationship to the va stuff and veteran's treatment, as well. >> thanks for having me on the showment appreciate it. there is about 150 detain knees and they va medical unit of about 100 doctors, nurses and health care support staff. the medical unit hasn't changed

the populations come down 4-1. it's 1.5 detaining, if you look at the veterans, there are 21 million veterans and of those, 9 million are receiving va care. if y employees, it's 267,000. i think president obama has a flawed sense of priorities. he's taking better square of them. we had 40 veterans alone that died waiting for medical appointments and eric, this is outrageous. >> jd, tell us about going back to gitmo, how would you rate the detained people get. >> they don't have any kind of waiting list. they get seen on the same day. i think the best testament to it was michael moore, film maker michael moore in his 2007 film

went down to the cuba side with three 9/11 volunteer rescue workers and had a bull horn and said look, we have a volunteer rescue workers from 9/11 not getting health care. we want the same treatment as al qaeda, no more, no less. michael moore said that. i think they get excellent health care and it's a shame veterans are not getting the same level of care. >> so you're giving the gitmo detained a plus. how about our veterans, how would you rate them? >> a d. we have a lot of wounded warriors coming back but the problem with the va is systemic. i was in the navy, i'm a retired commander. i worked with thousands of civilians in my career. some of the best employees ever was civilians but some of the worst duty civilians because you can't get rid of them and they get paid the same. if a doctor sees 20 patients or

two, they will be the same. administrators are not good, staff isn't good. i'm pleased the house of representatives is taking this seriously and trying to make it easier to get rid of government civilians that aren't doing their jobs and i think general shinseki should go, as well. >> so you're calling systemic, which means shinseki is on the hook for that. talk to us about we had a guest on here, detective thomas who says there is drug dealings going on at the va hospitals, theft of some of the drugs, prescription drugs going on. there is theft of property going on. does any of this surprise you? >> no, eric, not surprising at all. it's a large bureaucracy, 267,000 people work there. i think it's just so difficult to get rid of people because these labor unions protect them, even the ones not doing their job. that does not surprise me. the va needs a top to bottom review and needs to change the way we do business.

it's not set upright, efficiently to have so many government workers that get paid the same, do a great job, poor job, doesn't matter. they need to change the lock. >> it's knot a monnot a money i. there was about 54 billion to the va and 2013, it was 154 billion. we almost doubled over the last five years or so. it's not a money issue, it's an accountability issue. >> you're absolutely right, eric. it's not money. they have plenty of money to do their job. it's mentally. there is no sense of urgency and i think they are not performing. it's not a money issue. it's cultural. i think that having this great large government, this government gone wild type mentality in the va is really hurting our veterans and not fair. our veterans deserve better than this. >> we'll have to leave it there. thank you very much. as an american marine sits in a mexican jail cell at this

the commander in chief, rather than stepping in to fix the situation is revealing how misplaced his priorities are. let's look at the schedule from tod today, very, very important airport delays and toured the baseball hall of fame and museum yum and this evening, the president attended and spoke at a democratic fundraiser in chicago. baseball and fundraising, two things the president considers more important than our dying veterans or u.s. marine who remains locked up in the mexican jail at this hour. here with reaction is texas congressman louie. thanks for joining us.

what about it? the president's schedule, fund raising, baseball, airport delays, no marines. >> well, at least that's one area that's been consistent because as you know, the day after benghazi, he was out in las vegas raising money and having a big campaign appearance and it took 20 hours. it took longer to get a plane 20 hours after benghazi war started against our people than to get him there and back to las vegas for his big campaign. and let me also comment eric on something our former speaker has said where she is saying well, you know, the va is over run that maybe president -- she's basically saying president bush should have counted the costs before he went to war. well, let me tell you, let me talk about just comment on that cost. president bush as commander lost

625 precious american lives in afghanistan in 7.25 years. this president because of his incompetence, because of his standing orders on the rules of engagement and a lot of other issues relating to the president as commander, we have lost 1628 american lives under his command in 5.25 years, two years less, under president bush we had 2638 soldiers who were wounded badly and under this president and two years less, 16,366 and in fact, in his busy day we had talked about travel delays and things like that, he averaged about eight and a half serious wounded americans per day. 17 every two days, under his command.

so it was kind of difficult for president bush to count the cost and anticipate you would have an incompetent commander in chief after he left office. >> all right, congressman, president obama has said that he heard about what is going on at the va because he saw it on the news on a telecast. he said that about fast and furious and the ira and ap scandal, as well. do you think the commander and chief, very possibly the most powerful pman on the planet heas about this watching fox and friends in the morning. >> let's give him the benefit of the doubt, he heard about this through the news. that means exactly what many have said is that he is not thinking about what he's reading from the teleprompter when he's reading it. you seen the speeches in 2008, 2009, 2010 talking about the problems in the va. the only way he would not have known about him is if his

critics are right and he puts his mind in neutral and simply reads from the teleprompters without thinking about what he's saying. otherwise he knew about it because he's talked about it in the past. >> they draw this ring around him, it's called the plausible deniability ring. i wear this flag on my chest every day because i'm proud of this country and proud of the people fighting and dying for the freedom to wear the flag and be on this television program. speaker boehner earlier today said eric shinseki, speaker boehner has not called for his resignation yet. what will it take for speaker boehner to make that call? >> well, i hope he's close to making that decision. for some of us, if you go five and a half years and haven't gotten anything accomplished in making things better in the veteran's administration, then it's time for you to go. i respect and admire and

appreciate his noble services as a war hero, but apparently, as va director he's incompetent. it's time to get somebody in there who is going to be going to the hospitals, who is going to be on top of it. you have got to be on top of it and let people know that they can't be sure where you're going to show up. you're going to show up and ask for both books and make sure they are not treating people the way they got treated and he hasn't done that, eric. >> congressman, i want to play the sound byte of speaker boehner. >> i have not called for general shinseki to resign, but i have to admit i'm getting closer. this isn't about one person. this isn't about the secretary. it's about the entire system underneath him. you know, the general can leave and we can wait around for months to go through a nomination process, and we get a new person, but the disaster

continues. >> congressman, listen, when health cacare.gov was broken, everyone and their brother on the right said it's time for kathleen sebelius to go. why is speaker boehner not calling for shinseki's job? >> it may have to do with his background, his noble background as a war hero, but i respect that. i admire it. it's time for him to go, and, you know, let's face it, the speaker has been a little slow to call for a number of things that he should have much sooner, and so, hopefully, he's going to join the ranks that say it's time for this noble war hero but incompetent va secretary to go and get somebody in to clean house. >> we'll leave it there. thank you for joining us tonight on "hannity". >> thank you. coming up next on "hannity". >> it's become partisan and this

the attacks were taking place that night saying hey, did you see what is causing this? they were being political at that moment. >> you know, i'm appalled by it. one of the things that's interesting is that very night, they were still struggling to get reinforcement. we had special operations forces in tripoli. they couldn't find a plane for them. instead of calling to get a plane or make arrangements to get a plane, they are on the phone trying to create spin to say this is about a video which never had anything to do with this attack. so it saddens me and doesn't surprise me but does sadden me. >> if hillary clinton has to be concerned about this select panel that their house is going to bring up, now we've heard there is possibilities some operatives, people that work with her were pushing democrats to be on that select committee so that i guess so they can ask her questions that maybe are a little easier than the ones the republicans were going to ask. >> well, i think it's important that we do have a select

committee and i trust trey groutty to do a good job on this. i think he's a great prosecutor, honest and fair and i think we will get to the truth of this, and the only way we're going to get to the truth of this is ultimately i think secretary clinton needs to come back and talk about her involvement and why no security was provided for six months they pleaded for security and no security was provided. she really has a lot of questions to answer. >> what do you think will happen with the democrats that are on that select committee? are they going to ask her the tough questions? >> well, i don't know yet, and sometimes you don't know which way these -- which direction the committees will go. it's a good first step they appointed someone. there was talk they wouldn't even show up. i hope they will show up and i hope they will do their job. >> do you think maybe they are showing up for that reason, to give her or provide her a little cover? >> we'll see. i don't know. i think that she obviously wants friends on the committee, and whether or not she influenced the picks, i don't know.

i think that it is their obligation and the people who died ambassador stevens and others deserve to get, you know, their families deserve it, the country deserves it to find the truth. >> senator, let's turn our attention to another white house scandal, the scandal going on at the va. first of all, can we ask you, is it president obama's fault? >> well absolutely the buck stops with him and i think he's admitting as much. the only problem is it's one thing to say you're responsible, another to actually do something about it. there is now evidence this has been going on for a year after year after year. the other thing that i think president obama's administration needs to explain is that this is the kind of system that the democrats want for all of us. they have been wanting a single payer system, senator reid said he's for a single payer system. that's what the va system is. if we have waiting lines and people not surviving because they are in waiting lines, this is precisely what happens in canada and england.

over a million people at any one time are on waiting lists, waiting lists are to government medicine. >> senator, you're a senator but doctor and point out waiting lists. don't waiting lists imply rashening? do you expect to see rashening, it gets to a point where it's almost a single payer system? >> yeah, rationening is inherent to it. you see it in england and canada. any time something is free, people will like to use it and so many people show up, that the government then has to set strict rules on who can show up. the decisions aren't necessarily made by doctors but government bur bur burr cats who can show up.

>> senator, let me tall your attention to, we're going to play sound of some people pushing back on the president not asking for eric shinseki's resignation, in fact, the american legion and the legion of guys on the left asking, take a listen. >> we think at this point secretary shinseki is nothing more than a distraction. the only time that we're going to be able to watch the va start to heal and get better is after this leadership is done. >> this case i think has urgency for general shinseki who is on honorable man who served his country honorably but he needs to step aside. >> the first person we need to fire is the secretary of vete n veterans affairs mr. shinseki himself. we respect him and his sacrifice for this country but the buck stops at the top. >> your thoughts? >> well, you know, the first person i would get rid of is anybody who falsified records. so if there are people who falsified records and made a

false waiting list, some of these people, -- rumors they got bonuses. if anybody did false fie records, they should be fired but prosecuted. somebody has to sort this out. this has been going on for years, obviously the head of the va would have to go. he is a veteran and a war hero and so i tend to give him a little bit of leeway in trying to figure out the problem, but if he is part of the problem, he should go but i want the problem fixed. the other thing i've said is every veteran in apmerica that cannot get in on a waiting list, we should give a voucher now. there isn't reason they shouldn't see a private doctor or go to a private hospital. we should not have a veteran turned away from a hospital. that could be fixed like this if the president showed leadership and instead of having the blame thing, why don't we fix the problem and so i would call on the president to say let's get a

voucher program, let's immediately start it and say nobody will be turned away. >> all right. senator, i only have about 30 seconds or so, now you push back on one of the presidents points, david barrett who is appointed to the first circuit court as a judge. what was your push back with that gentleman? >> i think it's really important that we have trials. i think that to be accused is one thing but a conviction is different than a trial. i have no sympathy for american traders or people who betray their country, but i think we should try for for treason. if they don't show up, i would give them a lawyer still because i think what it does is protect what we are fighting for, the bill of rights and presumption of innocence and due process and right to a trial by jury are so important that even really terrible people deserve a trial in america. >> all right. we'll leave it there. talk about david baron, the first circuit. thank you for joining us today. >> thanks for having me.

think we need to change it. >> we can't get the senate to talk about benghazi because harry reid won't bring it to the floor but he'll bring this. >> this doesn't take that much time. >> your money worth in dc, what can i say. >> let's move on to this gk, jada pinkett and will smith we heard are under investigation by child protective services. we contacted them and they wouldn't confirm or deny. >> what happens in a situation like this, anybody can make a complaint or come forward, a private citizen can call and say, listen, i'm concerned about the welfare of this child in the picture with a 20-year-old boy, and willow, their daughter is 13 and it's a picture on the internet. you're looking at it now. is this an appropriate picture? is there proper parenting and supervision? to me it's not inplaus b they would investigate a situation

like this and i'm sure they would cooperate. they have to check it out if there are complaints made. >> thoughts, kirsten? >> yeah, i mean, i guess that's the best thing to do, i think we need more information about the relationship between these two people. we don't know. did they grow up together? have they known each other for a long type. >> that's what they are saying. >> i guess, there is a part of me that thinks it's a little scary to think of child services to come into your house -- >> social media. >> i don't know that rises to this level. they aren't abusing their child. they are cooperating. >> in fact, they say they don't believe in punishment, will and jada. >> didn't this come up with miley and billy ray cyrus. >> that was inappropriate. there wasn't an investigation to this extend. there was public outrage and people upset. >> there are people beating the

crap out of their children not getting investigated and they are spending time on this picture? i don't know. that's strange. >> don't you have to err on the side of caution? >> there are laws on the books whether you like them or not. that's what the child protective agency is bound by and they have to investigate. maybe they got something else besides pictures. we don't know. when they come knocking on your door, you better cooperate. >> to me this seems specific to the people involved. >> too nosey. >> i don't know this was even happening, a picture of two people who have known each other, their families have a relationsh relationship. >> right. >> i'm not sure that this -- you know. >> this isn't the one that with my hair in the air is it? that one. >> what with your hair in the air? >> one of his daughters -- whatever. leave it at that. sean sat down with rick scott and he details how he turned the

we over saw the creation of 600,000 private sector jobs and responsible for over 40 tax cuts during his first three years as chief executive or florida. rick scott is embroiled in a tight race for reelection. sean sat down with governor scott to talk about the hotly contested race. >> rick scott is with us. last time i spoke to you, you told me right now available in florida were there 300,000 jobs or close to. >> absolutely. >> is that still available? >> there is about 270,000 jobs. >> that people can get hired right now? >> right now. >> we're hiring people every day. last month we had 33 thousand jobs. >> so a little over three years and added over 600 thousand private sector jobs and my opponent and likely opponent lost 832,000 jobs as governor. >> charlie chris? >> yes. >> does he wake up every day and throw something in the air to

see which way the wind is blowing? i have never seen a guy flop and flip and flail like him. >> flip-flop and flop flipped. >> let's take a look at the numbers. i am really been out there praising conservative governors and i include you, rick perry, john kasich and scott walker because all of you have done something amazing. in every case, you've taken deficits and turned them into surplus surpluses. >> right. >> and brought numbers down dramatically. let's look at the unemployment rate in florida, 11%, 10.9% andist 6.2 and you created 600,000 jobs in the meantime. >> absolutely. >> amazing. >> and people are flocking to our state. >> people like me. i'm leaving new york because i can't stand what is going on in this state. >> we like people. you get to keep your money in florida. >> thank you. >> it's your money. >> it's my money. >> you get to build a competitive company and build -- >> i already have a business
