brothers much, but when it comes to the other side, different story. we'll ask mitt romney what he thinks about that. we're getting lots of comments on twitter about one segment in particular. can you guess which one it was? see you tomorrow night. and this is a fox news alert. tonight we are following three major developing stories. now first the white house is in crisis mode yet again after it exposed the name of the central agency's top officer in afghanistan putting this individual and his family at risk. new developments in the va scandal. there are new allegations of u.s. vets being neglected after reports that as many as 60 bodies have been lying in a southern california morgue for the past year and a half. we have details on that any moment. the third story we're following
10:01 pm
the horrific murder rampage from friday that left six people dead in southern california. ed, good to see you. >> good to see you. >> you have a hard job. it's good to see you in new york. you're there every day. this was a big deal with vallu plame. >> they got the president for a secret trip to afghanistan. he's planning to give this major speech here on wednesday in new york at west point. they had all this laid out. instead he's being dogged by breaking news tonight which is the white house council is investigating how this cia agent was outed and what they can do
10:02 pm
to prevent it in the future. the military put that list together. the white house passed it on to the white house press corps. it went out to 6,000 press reporters all over the world. they say it was an accident. the military put it on the list. somebody at the white house should have seen it and caught. they insist there was no mal intent here. valeri plame went after the obama administration today saying, this was astonishing for this to happen. >> i think the pressure is going to grow more as the day goes on. the special prosecutor that was put on the case, he discovered that richard armitage was the leaker for novak.
10:03 pm
>> there was great political pressure at the time. the allegation was the bush administration outed valeri plame for her husband being a severe critic of iraq. there's a lot of talk of investigations in washington right now. we haven't seen special councils appointed like fitzgerald. the white house council is going to look at this and see how they can fix this. >> let me ask you about the va scandal. we know that veterans have died. it seemed institutionalized to me. each state seems to have adopted the same tactic, the secret waiting list. where's the sense of urgency? why so slow?
10:04 pm
>> they feel like they are being intense because they say, like, the president took one of his top aids and sent him over to the va to get on top of shins i shinseki. it was many days after the scandal blew open. why didn't someone catch it sooner? >> i know it's not quite the white house presidential seal behind you, but it's great to have you with us. thanks for being with us. as the white house scrambles to contain the damage, shannon breen, she's in washington tonight with the very latest. shannon? >> outrage tonight.

10:07 pm

10:09 pm
people are ducking for cover to evade gunshots. a student working at the store was killed and two sorority sisters who were gunned down a block away. roger had e-mailed a chilling manifesto to his therapist and his parents and posted a youtube video on his plans to slaughter people who had wronged him and women who had rejected him. as his parents were driving to intervene, they heard the report. one student says it's a miracle she's still alive after the gunman shot at her and missed. >> there was no one else around. i was the only person on the streets. it was a friday night. there was no one else around. i was the only one. he looked directly at me and shot at me multiple times.
