>> fox urgent, i'm harris faulkner, gunfire in a busy commercial area in las vegas, nevada now we know five people are dead, including two police officers and a bystanders their allege killers also dead, following what investigators describe as some sort of suicide pact. it all began with killings of two police officers at a pizza restaurant. they then walked to a nearby walmart and faittle shot another person before taking their own lives inside that store. the killers told shoppers they were part of a revolution. authorities are planning a news conference and we're watching in

las vegas. as soon as that gets under way and news is broken there, we'll bring that to you, but for now we're following all of this from our los angeles bureau. >> while we await that press conference, let us give you a timeline of events of what has happened in the past four and a half hours, because it's just a short time ago that all of this unfolded in northwest las vegas. 11:22, two police officers appearing to eat inside a cici's pizza restaurant, one was shot in the head. another one later died in hospital at university medical center from his injury. it appears to be some kind of ambush. that's how it's been described to us. the man and woman took the officers weapons and their ammunition and then they marched to a nearby walmart. there they killed one person standing in an aisle before making their way to the rear northwest corner of the store

and they reportedly told shoppers inside that store they wanted a shoot-out with metro police officers. well, that certainly happened. the walmart was actually surrounded by s.w.a.t. team members and metro police officers. a number of them went inside and engaged with this pair. the two suspects are understood to have shot and kill each other in what appears to be a suicide pact. well, moments after the two police officers were killed, here's what one -- here's what one described what happened at the pizza restaurant. listen. >> they had a backpack and i saw their guns in their hands and he just told me to tell the cop that it was a revolution and he had just killed two cops. >> no names released in terms of the victim nor the suspects but clearly this was some sort of planned attack but just given the fact that they helped themselves to the killed officers weapons and ammunition i think says very much how much harm these people intended to

do. we're hearing from one source in the sheriff's department that the scene of both the walmart and the cici's pizza restaurant is described as a very complex scene and the officers saying that in fact there are at least a thousand witnesses and it's going to take some time to actually paint a full accident detailed pictures of what transpired. the press conference is about to take place. we'll have an update. how horrific too for those people inside the pizza restaurant. as i understand it, it was pretty small. so anybody who was exposed to this, got to see a lot more than they wanted to. as the news breaks in nevada, we'll go back to you for the latest. an international airport is closed in pakistan and this is the situation that may not be over yet. officials are saying gunmen have stormed a terminal used for vips and cargo and at least five people are dead. police and army commandos are said to have confined an noin

number of attackers in a maintenance area. smoke could be scene billowing from that terminal. you can see that in the middle of your screen there. at this hour, all flights in and out of that airport have been canceled. it is happened in karaci, afghanistan's large -- pakistan pakistan's largest city. turning now to army sergeant bowe bergdahl, his road to recovery just beginning now. we're learning more about his time in captivity as well as his mental condition. according to doctors he's not emotionally ready to speak with his family yet. meanwhile, secretary of state john kerry has spoken for the very first time about the controversy surrounding the prisoner swap at guantanamo bay that secured bergdahl's release. five high ranking taliban

officers are now free. now one has already stated that he returns to the battlefield and fight americans. secretary of state kerry called the idea that the swap is putting american troops in danger, ba lonnie. john mccain fired back. >> we know that 30% of those who were released from guantanamo before have re-entered the fight. these people are in the leadership. they are the ones who are dedicated, hardest of hardcore and by the way they became a lot harder after their years in guantanamo. you have to weigh the risks to the lives of -- our fellow servicemen and women who are serving. >> tonight, it is feared as you

heard senator mccain saying there too that this prisoner exchange will endanger americans overseas. >> well, that's right and there are two reasons they think that. one is the taliban commanders released in exchange for bergdahl could return to the battlefield. it could cause an increased risk to americans who could be taken hostage as terrorists could see them as an exchange for other taliban. >> they have actually encourage some of these groups to go out and take other hostages and do this again. that's why so many people are furious about this deal. >> secretary kerry today said u.s. personnel are in no way grave danger, no greater danger because of this exchange than they were before. >> what do we know about bergdahl's state of mind and the condition of his captivity?

i understand some details are coming forth. what are they? >> he's still being evaluated by medical personnel in germany and he's physically able to travel but not yet emotionally prepared for his reon i don't know with his parents, he has not talked to them yet. at the same time, unnamed u.s. officials say bergdahl's captors held him in a cage in total darkness for weeks at a time as punishment for trying to escape. secretary of state john kerry saying doing nothing to gain bergdahl's release was never an option. >> it would have been offensive and incomprehensible to consciously leave an american behind, no matter what, to leave an american behind, in the hands of people who had tortured him, cut off his head, do any of things, we would consciously choose to do that, that's the other side of this equation. i don't think that anybody

jersey when a tractor-trailer rammed them from behind. now a federal investigation, the truck driver as well is facing some criminal charges. tracy morgan who is 45 years old is being treated in the icu of a jersey hospital while his family members are holding vigil. a representative for the family released this update. while tracy remains in critical condition, he has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign. he sustained a number of injuries, including a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose, several broken ribs. he had surgery earlier today on that leg. they are saying we expect him to remain in the hospital for several weeks. the family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of support and love from his fans. one of morgan's writers and mentors james mcnair died at the scene. two other people were critically

hurt. the truck driver who ram the let me -- limo bus. he's out on bail tonight. he failed to slow down and didn't notice the traffic was slowing down ahead of him setting off a deadly chain reaction pile-up. they are also trying to determine if any issues regarding commercial trucking and limo safety is involved. the truck is owned by walmart. walmart says it's prepared to take full responsibility for the crash but authorities conclude it was the truck drivers fault. tracy morgan became a huge star on snl. a later role on nbc's hit show 30 rock earned him an emmy in 2009. actress sandra bullock is reportedly okay today after a break-in at her home and she was there at the time. no word yet on the suspect's

identity or whether this is being investigated as an attempted burglary or potential stalking case. a massive manhunt in canada with authorities looking for three inmates you see them there after they used a helicopter to get away from a detention center in quebec city. personnel are helping in the search. call police if you see them immediately. it's the second time in two years have escaped by helicopter in quebec province. you cannot make that up. a dire situation is now appearing to get a whole lot worse. with hundreds of additional undocumented immigrants, many of them children without their parents getting dropped off by the bus load in southern arizona. it's estimated now more than 1,000 children have been packed into this makeshift detention center, many of them are sick and sleeping on plastic

under way in las vegas. the scene of a shoot-out. tonight, five people are dead, including two police officers. what we just learned, policemen were having lunch at this pizza restaurant when this happened, they were ambushed. the man and a woman were the suspects. they left that restaurant and took all the ammunition off those officers and went to a nearby walmart. what did we learn? >> we've learn the identity of the two police officers that were shot. they have been identified as 42-year-old allen beck and 32-year-old egor salvo, they are been described by the police as family men and people that have loved ones and who are actually suffering this evening. feeling an emptiness is how he described it. apparently one of the officers manage to shoot back at one of

le bootlier, doug schoen. gentlemen, let's start by dissecting what we now know to be the case with this situation with bowe bergdahl. is the axis moving on this story? are people more accepting of the actual trade or what is coming down the pike for the white house? >> i'm seeing more and more questions being asked. for example, was there money paid to the haqqani network as part of the deal? we need to get answers to that question. how much refresh my recollection is there -- how much restriks is there on fact on the detainees in qatar and with john kerry having said today i think frankly strangely harris that we have drones -- we didn't say

moved significantly because they were originally those questions were taken at the time of when the president was celebrating and everyone was holding back. look, i raise an issue last week. it's not just the people who were killed. we had these five taliban top commanders, one of whom the wall street journal highlighted about a village he genocide 'd in afghanistan, it was reported on abc this morning about the luxurious accommodations he had. i want to know how many americans died capturing these taliban. the proposal for a deal, which in 2012, secretary clinton and panetta would not do. they refused to make this trade. the senate knew and refused. everyone refused. it is clear that this was a white house operation and let me tell you what i think i hate to say this, but i guess they

wanted -- you could be cynical enough to think they wanted the v.a. off the front page. they got something much worse. >> wow. that's a strong statement. doug, is it greater criticism over how the deal was rolled out to the american people or the deal itself? >> the deal itself as has been suggested is very problematic, more and more questions being asked, why, how many people were put in harms way or killed as a result of trying to search for bergdahl and ultimately by these terrorists and ultimately what's going to happen now. now, all of those questions are happening, but as john suggested, i think the credibility of this administration in terms of its overall foreign policy, what they say and what they do is completely at variance and we saw this week an absence of coherence tweens the u.s. and the europeans. ultimately, this is a president losing credibility and losing

>> they are there. mr. bergdahl is trying to get his son back, i don't blame him but he's tweeting with the taliban leadership promising i'm going to work to get all the other prisoners out of guantanamo. he's standing with the commander in chief, whose soldiers are getting killed by the taliban. how can this be? >> and we should balance that the report that there's no official way to know if that tweet came from his account but it has been deleted if that were the case. >> let me just say, let's talk about incompetence for a moment while we saw these pictures of a family there. that moment may go down in history as they call from wall street, the minsky moment. they jumped the shark in this administration. everything they do is exposed. it goes too far. the president being out there tieless by the way and the family, you would think there would be -- >> wait a minute, i have to stop you there, because john -- put his thumb up in the air.

what does that mean, the president is tieless? tell me, pat. >> that's just an aside. my point is that when the president -- look, when he goes out there, you have the whole office of people, they have been dealing with the bergdahls for months, for years actually, no one said to the president, i don't think to be kind about it, it comes off a little eccentric, maybe we shouldn't have this going on, maybe there are going to be some problems. i know from my experience you would try to do that. it is the incompetence here and what i've said before this team of clowns to go over from a team of very qualified people in foreign policy, you know, basically, they have hatched this deal and we'll get to the thing with rice and about the not notifying congress, but this moment as john has said, 80% of the american people believe all politicians lie. >> the fox poll takes a look at how people think that terrorists

will lead to more u.s. soldier hostages and problems for our men and women abroad. very likely that that would happen, somewhat likely, let's add those numbers up, that's a yes to this and that's 84% of the people, john. >> the point i was going to make is the president right after this bergdahl happened, when he was asked either that afternoon or the next day about did you notify congress, he said yes, congress was notified. well, they weren't. that's a lie by the president of the united states or he told someone to notify them and they didn't do it, and then they keep changing why they didn't notify. >> and they keep changing accounts of what mr. bergdahl's health was. >> right. and was he at risk. there's so many unanswered questions. we need a -- >> even senator feinstein out of california said he didn't look malnourished. >> we need a benghazi-style select committee investigation of this whole release. >> how often are we going to ask
