i was trying to, like, pull it a little further. what about the challenges for candidates. it was david versus goliath. what were the dynamics different last night in this race that did not topple the other incumbepts? >> a lot of people are pointing to the immigration issue is what killed eric cantor last night. but for a majority leader to lose by 11 points in a primary is something that never happen before. there are bigger and inherent issues at stake that were going on in the district. i can't overempsideways enough that there had to be a lack of connectivity with the voters in the district. being majority leader takes you outside of your district a lot. he was in washington doing a fundraiser for other candidates the morning of his

primary day. you usually go and vote and hit polling stops in your direct on primary day. eric cantor are was in washington and i think that factor can not been empsidewaysed enough he just was not there enough and he didn't take the care and time it takes on this environment that is volatile and unpredictable. and down in south carolina on the same day, lindsay graham is known for service and having more staff in south carolina than in washington and he is a septemberor. that was more difficult to knock off someone statewide than in a house district. that is a fair comparison. >> lindsay graham, had 56 percent of the vote and mitch mcconnell. he squeaked through. is there a delusion among some.

back now with our legal panel on the heartbreaking case that stems from those gm ignition switch problems. a texas woman named candace anderson, was convicted of criminally negligent homicide in a crash that killed her fiance in 2004. she was driving a saturn ion and learned in may that it was one of the cars responsible for those ignition switch problems. she said gm never contacted her. and she felt she was at fault for causing her fiance's death as well as having a felony

conviction. now she wants it expunged. heather, this is so sad. she felt it's her fault but now blames gm. >> her fiance was one of the 13 who died. she settled with gm. that's a hurdle to overcome. you have to prove fraud. here it's going to be a lot easier than it would normally be. they've been fined by the government, fired 15 people, three were gm lawyers. she'll have a much easier time proving fraud. >> can she get it expunged? >> you would hope the criminal -- she pled guilty to a crime, vehicular manslaughter when it turns out that the car had a faulty thing where the car was literally able to be turned off while you were driving, thus shutting down a bunch of the systems. that's what happens. but her criminal conviction, you would hope, would be expunged. >> go to the appellate court? >> that should be even easier than undoing the settlement.
