really is. to use their power to step all over groups with a political view that some government does and doesn't like ought to result in someone going to jail. not a taxpayer, no one. not even decent and sincere taxpayers in congress. now we would go to jail for that and they get taxpayer bonuses we are giving diapers and formula to the people that rushed here illegally while single moms in our own country are struggling to feed their kids. a person can ignore our immigration laws and get medical care, and our veterans are forced into a va hospital.

big shots who have an ivy league education and make $100 million a year running their companies into the ground, they get a government bailout to keep them afloat. but the people that swept through their clothes every day, lifting heavy stuff, they're getting weighs and benefits cut. as long as they bail out the boys that keep writing big checks, don't think this administration will hold them accountable. the biggest problem we face is climate change and he blames us because we dry cars to work. and he flies on airforce one at at cost of $181,000 a hour, and he goes out to give a speech and play golf in palm springs. he expels more carbon in a day than most americans do in a lifetime. we fight wars with other people's kids, but we keep

sending the same folks again and again to take bullets and step on bombs for an irrational foreign policy that punishes friends with israel. we let five of the most notorious terrorists loose. gasoline prices? highest that they have been in years. instead of impowering working class families, we get a lecture on energy use while he is giving out cash to his political cronies after living large on big salaries and collecting more federal debt. there is polarization, all right. it's not democrat and republican. it's the people who make the rules, not living by the same rules as the people paying for the rules.

and we're sick of it. this weekend, isis crossed a border and took a town that makes is easier for supplies to come in. they called on the militia men. president obama called a press conference to lay out his plan for the crisis in iraq. >> we have increased our intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance and we have a better picture of what's taking place inside of iraq. and that will give us a better understanding of what they're doing, how we might support efforts to counter this threat. >> all right, to get a better visual idea of what president is

talking about, we're going to break it down. the threat posed by syria, and what the role of the 300 american military advisors will be. so here to guide us through the strategy and the tactics, two of our trusted military minds, major general bob scales. gentlemen, it is a distinct honor to have you here and i want to just jump into this. americans are hearing what's happening, but i don't know if they understand the strategic value. let's start with the big picture of what's happening in iraq. >> okay, let's start with 2011 when all of this started. it was then that the administration decided to pull out all u.s. kroops troops in 2

leave no troops behind. it was not just the fact that our soldiers were leaving, it was the fact that all of the infrastructure, all of the intelligence, all of the stay behinds, all of the friends that we made in iraq were literally ripped from that country beginning in 2011 and for intelligence purposes, the country went black. >> is it fair to say that we didn't just leave, we took the plumbing and wiring. >> we took the whole house. after we left, maliki, the president of iraq, started to completely rip the guts out of the iraqi arm. we he placed them with his shiite cronies. at the same time, many of you

will recall the terrible civil war that started in syria in 2011, and that's when we first see isis. and they conducted a two-and-a-half year war. during that time they went for a al qaeda drone into something for more sophisticated and dangerous. they learned how to fight, they sorted themes out and came up with good leadership. they brought in foreign fighters. they are well equipped. they have a great deal of money. then, all of a sudden, on the tenth of june, isis turned their attentions on iraqi. first thing they did was take down the second largest city and literally overnight, the iraqi army simply disappeared.

over a period of seven days, governor, they completely blanketed northeastern iraq. in two days they moved 230 miles. >> i want to get the colonel in here. tactically to move that much military that far it did not happen out of luck, did it? >> no, the scenes of people being be headed and shot and executed, as many people have seen on television, is something the soldiers were watching, more importantly there had to be infrastructure from the time they started moving from the border in syria down south, moving that quickly meant they had taken the time to put a support mechanism in place. they did their reconnaissance. and it showed a long-term s

strategic plan. >> these guys make al-qaeda look like the folks you would invite to dinner. >> they're diabolical. they're the most center and evil terrorist force that we have seen in the last 100 years. it's not al-qaeda. it is not just terrorist groups, this is an army. this is an army that has good leadership, well trained, combat experienced. they're being paid by many of the sunni states in the area, and they have a terrific infrastructure in the sunni part. and it runs down to the gates of baghdad. as they move south along the river and destroy these iraqi units, they replaced them and they moved into these downs and

villages and started to turn them into what will eventually be iraq. >> colonel, just on saturday, they were taken by isis. why is that important? what is that? >> it is extremely important because it's the primary gate way for the movement of goods and supplies between syria and iraq. they also used it now to move some of the vehicles they captures, back over to syria for their fighting there b with and it is also a way for commerce to continue to flow into this area as they gain control over it. >> this is like taking texas, and that's why it's an important thing to see that they captured this. when we come back, we want to talk about how the president is sending 300 military advisors to

we are back and we are back now and our guests are taking a look at the situation in iraq. when the president says he will send 300 advisors, what will those folks do? >> we don't know, i was wounded three times as an advisor. i don't think he will put people in combat positions out of fear,

so they were helping iraqis with their trucks what we have to hope is that these advisors will be positioned to have a strategic influence on what the iraqis do. >> where will they be? >> my guess would be baghdad because it will be the safest. >> okay, let's put the advisors on there, but it remains to be seen where he will want to put them. i think the first priority will be putting them where they're not in harm's way. the question is what can they really influence. >> as we look at this big picture, it's very apparent that this is a mess right now. does baghdad fall, and if it doesn't, why not? >> it is 89% shiite.

and the last thing that the sunnis want to do is pick a fight in the heart of shiite. so they will consolidate by capturing the most important thing in iraq which is the refineries and the fields. >> those are here in the eastern part? >> yes, they are fighting if i the city that is the center of gravity for the oil region. as we speak right now there is a fight right now for the control of that city. so far, the kurds are a very effective army. very dedicated to their craft. they're doing pretty well against isis. but the main point of contention is twofold.

consolidate this sunni area to turn it away from being captured cities into a state. believe it or not but a terrorist state. >> you have the development of a sunni state here. a lot of the area is sunni. what does this mean for the united states strategically? it and the rest of the re jogio? >> it's a potential disaster. we all remember al qaeda prior to 9/11. they were minuscule compared to this. when they consolidate, it will turn to foreign infidels. they're so well trained and organized they now have a state, god only knows what the next step of this operation will be for americans at home. >> colonel, we have aircraft carriers, ships in the persian

gulf will we see airstrikes and what will they be able to accomplish? >> there are good reports that isis captured stinger missiles. i think that changes the dynamics about any kinds of air strikes of what we try to use. you want to know specifically what that target is. it is the killing of gent people by mistake. these guys in isis are smart people. they will try to construct whatever we, the americans, do and show the rest of the sunnis that it's us, americans, lining up with the shiites to go after the sunnis, and that makes the complexity of this, how many countries are sunni, there's a lot of people that will listen to what isis says. >> the last thing we want is for

the american air force to be depicted as the shiite air force. 90% of an airstrike is not dropping bombs, it's doing the intelligence to you hit your targets with great skill. it takes weeks, if not months, for a rouge men tear form of investigation over that country. >> it's not just bulling the troops out. when the president saying we're going back in there, it's like starting 15 years ago, not 15 months ago. we're going really far back to try to resolve it. we're out of time, but i want to ask each of you for a summary. long term, where do you see the

kurds going. >> they don't have a problem any more because of their relationship, so they will be stable, but i think isis, these guys here, other terrorist elements in syria will continue to gain strength, they will not give up a lot of ground, and they will develop a country. they have 3,000 people with western passports who can get on a plane like you and me. >> general, your assessment in the next 12 months? >> in the next 12 months i'm afraid that isis will consolidate and create their consideration of a -- the kurds

joining me now is jim connolly of connecticut. you have just seen a couple military experts talking about the very difficult situation we're in. you have some concerns about sending advisors, share with me what the concerns are. >> i do, gloerch, thank you for having me. i think the officers did a goog job painting the picture on the ground. i think we need to kind of sit back and ask ourselves what our fend mental interests are. i suggest to you governor that our fundamental interests in all of these areas having such challenges it's very clear, going after the relatively small

number that has transnational ambitions. they want to come after us, europe, or israel, beyond that i think we have to avoid, at all costs, being perceived to being on anybody's team in this civil war that is happening in syria and in iraq. and i fear, and you were right, i have profound concerns. let's face it. there is an open question about if there is something called iraq any more. iraq was created by the british empire 90 years ago, so my fear, is that we are signing up to essentially coach one of the teams in a three-way contract. >> and picking a winner here doesn't make sense because none of them are winners for us,

they're all losers for us. they are fundamentally against the interest of the united states. >> i'm not sure if that's true, isol are full of bad people, and we want them off of the battlefield, but remember the current prime minister, who we're apparently supporting, is very much an ally of the iranians. so i think what we need to be doing here is doing what we're doing in places like yemen, in places that i can and can't talk about, in syria, pakistan, and afghanistan, we need to say you need to work this out, if there is an iraq in the future or not, that's for you guys to work out, but if you support people who are coming after us, you will have a very bad day, that's essentially what we're doing in the region, and i think that's

the right approach. and this idea is scarey, but you have to remember if they have a state, they have addresses and we know where to go for them. when it's hard is when they're in the daves, woods, and areas of total chaos. if they set up a sunni state, remember in the iraq war they were so brutal that the sunni's themselves turned on their own people. >> congressman, i appreciate you being here and your perspective, thank you for being on, thank you for joining us. he has been accused of the ring leader that attacked americans in benghazi. many people are outraged including mike pompeyo. feel like a knot.

what we now now is connected to the benghazi attacks. and his connections to al qaeda are well known. so we need a long time to talk to this guy and to interrogate him, to find out what and who he knows. we still have dozens of folks, names that we know, running around benghazi libya today. we have great work, i have been briefed on the operation. how we got him was remarkable, we should be proud of that, but we have dozens of folks on the battlefield. instead of giving him a lawyer, we should be working to bring all of these folks to justice and finding out whaktly what it is they continue to do to try to attack america today. >> he is coming back, it is not like he has a first class ticket, but someone is talking to him, who is interrogating

him, and what might we kban? is he already getting an attorney on the boat. >> my understanding is that we are talking to him and we're trying to elicit information from him. he knows the home he gets to shore he can make a simple request for a lawyer, and have the opportunity to claim that he doesn't have to talk to anyone. this is not the conditions where you find out the important information. we should treat him like a terrorist that killed four americans, like he is. >> we know the what, but the why, that is hard to figure out. why do we give this guy the same treatment that we would somebody who is an american citizen, he was not even arrested on american soil. so what is behind this? i'm having a hard time understanding that. >> yeah, governor, i can't understand it either.

i think it goes from barack obama's view of the threat from radical islamic terrorism. he thinks if they go home, they will come to love us and treat us right. he thinks if we close guantanamo bay, and disengage the threat will go away. i think you see the idea of treating him like a criminal as part and parcel of the threat. >> thank you for coming on. polls show that barack obama has low ratings. and hillary clinton is conducting interviews for her new book, but no one is watching. have americans had enough? we'll find out next on "the hot seat."

and your likeability. for the first time, america seems to like hillary clinton which must be nice for her. >> the book is doing fine, it's not "harry potter" but if she used the word lewinsky once, it would be flying off of the shelves, right? what we're talking about is a well selling book for state department intrigue. i didn't buy it because i don't care about state department entry. for me james bond has to be involved for me to care, but for overall support, this is the run up to potentially what will be a very tough campaign and now we're going to start to see if hillary wants it. >> will there be baggage she has to carry from her husband or barack obama? she was his secretary of state

for four years and his approval ratings tanked. people are saying his presidency is over. how do you see that? >> his presidency is not over until 2016 technically, right? i think when you have been in the public eye for as many years as hillary clinton has, you will have baggage. no one would argue that she does not have baggage, but there is something to be said for having gotten it out of the way. >> you think she has it out of the way? >> sure, i also think that people do appreciate tenacity and commitment -- >> this is why i want her to run. if hillary clinton has been doing this for the hard right for 20 years, it makes her insane. so just for entertainment perspective, i think it's more interesting if we're going back into these kind of old battles from the clinton years. i think that is -- i don't think the democrats are going to be
