"fox & friends" starts right now. good morning. it is thursday, june 26, 2014. i'm elisabeth hasselbeck. a fox news alert. concert chaos. dozens of people, mostly teens, rushed to the hospital in the middle of a show overnight. we're going to show you what happened. >> busted. one of lois lerner's e-mails been found. not good. yes, she's been busted. not good at all. we're going to tell you about it coming up. >> it's game on. u.s. set to face germany at the world cup in a matter of hours. but does watching soccer mean the moral decay of our nation? i'll debate that. you can guess which side i'll be on. but you can play that game at home. by the way, according to

basically by sirens. listen to this. ♪ ♪ >> that is his popular hit and here is what happened. ambulances lined up outside the tv garden to treat nearly 80 people who were sickened by booze and drugs. the patients were mostly teenagers. >> they dragged four people out. they were drunk. might have been molly's, i don't know. >> one kid, it took four cuffs to get him out. it was something. i don't know. >> the cops say many of the fans showed up to the concert drunk. none of the injuries are considered to be life threatening. the navy ship holding the benghazi terror suspects, that ship has gone dark. the crew has been absent from social media for more than a week now. that ship is believed to be headed to the east coast.

cats -- abu khattallah is expected to be arraigned sometime soon. >> survivor last year's contestant bankston died last year in a train accident. one train went off the track and he got caught in between those cars. the host of the show being quoteed as saying caleb was one of the most likable contestants on the show. he was 26 years old. a vacation turned into a bit of a nightmare for rob lowe and his family. look at this. that is the first floor of their vacation floor in france. it was completely under water thanks to some flash floods in the area. apparently that situation was so bad that lowe, his wife and his son had to be rescued. lowe later tweeted this

picture of his wife hugging the guy who rescued her. the caption reads glad that we are safe. grateful to first responders. they have had a lot of rain there. we've had a lot of rain in the midwest and the other parts of the country. >> we had rain here overnight. >> thank you very much. >> i didn't hear thunder and lightning. >> i did. >> lois lerner, she has admitted that they did illegally target members of the conservative movement and also the tea party. as it turns out, though, she was very popular because she got invited to an event where apparently chuck grassley was also invited because she wound up with his invitation and she took a look at it and this one group was offering to travel the iowa republican out to the event wherever it was and his wife as well. and on his face she realized, wait a minute, i've got to target that guy, even though she didn't have any of the facts.

>> these e-mails are shocking. the center of the conversation has been we need to get to the e-mails. did you find the e-mails? maybe the e-mails were destroyed, the server didn't work. hard drive crashed. now this e-mail is coming out. this is from lois lerner lois lerner. it says is this the one where we got the copy to the copy to me? looked like they were inappropriately offering to pay for his wife. perhaps we should refer to exam. >> the key in that first passage is inappropriately, because she's assuming that it is inappropriate. it would not be illegal for chuck grassley to take his wife as long as he declares it on his income tax form the next year. first of all, she's trying to target him. and also she's assuming that chuck grassley is going to lie on his tax return the next year ment >> that e-mail indicates that she's not sure if he did receive it. it's like a swap. she didn't have any facts whether he received it, whether he was going,

whether his wife was going, who paid whom. none of that information. but she had to be reminded of these rules given that she was the boss by someone else. this is a tax law specialist saying back to her, not sure we should send to exam. i think the offer to pay grassley's wife income is to grassley and not prohibitive on his face. we would need for grassley to accept and attend the speaking arrangement and then two then determine whether -- something was blanked there -- issue him a 1099 and even without the 1099 it would be grassley who would need to report the income on his 1040. a little lesson there. >> she didn't know the law. >> she doesn't know. she is referring to somebody else. i still don't understand how she gets correspondence senator grassley has. in case you're saying what does that have to do with the tea party investigation? these are some of the things that have turned up.

this is one thing to get a window into her life and job description. you've got to wonder if we are stumbling on to this interaction with senator chuck grassley who even by democrats' standards and republican standards has a sterling reputation of ethics, he is somebody -- you wonder if this is the beginning. they go on, from lois lerner, thanks, don't know why i thought it was -- something is redacted there. maybe answer would be the same. don't think i want to be on the stage with grassley on this issue. keep in mind, he ended up not going. family obviously didn't go. so there was no there there any way and there shouldn't have been a "there" there because there was nothing underhanded going on. she was trying to see, maybe i've got something to go pursue on him arbitrarily. >> we didn't know whether or not anybody went and yet she was trying to start an audit, sounds like on him. some have suggested maybe she's trying to sick him on that organization. we don't know. it looks like grassley.

a couple of days ago with mr. koskinen when he was in the hot seat they said did lois lerner have a blackberry or iphone? he said i don't know. they said these messages were from a blackberry. that is how they wound up getting these particular e-mails, because they are on a blackberry server. >> wouldn't you think in her i.t. department if something went wrong with the blackberry, they would call up, and someone would show up with a sledgehammer and smash it to pieces. we had some problems with it so i destroyed it with all the power in my body. >> more like it's working! boom! >> they grilled him on the floor. chairman issa is saying no one is looking at the actual law here. you call this a real investigation? we need a special prosecutor for this. >> this case calls for a true special independent prosecutor who has the ability to issue warrants,

to seize materials, to safeguard documents and other information before it goes away and get to the truth. and it's about time her attorney take back that statement she made that perjured statement that she broke no laws, she broke no regulations. of course she broke laws. of course she broke regulations. >> they want a special prosecutor. they want all her e-mails dating back to 1986. >> 28 years. >> think about this. if we're stumbling on to some problem, if we really pull down these sheets, how bad is this thing going to be? >> sure. apparently democrats on the house oversight committee got a personal phone call from the i.r.s. watchdog and told them -- didn't tell this to the republicans -- told the democrats on oversight, we knew about the hard drive crash in fall of 2012. in other words, right around the election. >> unbelievable. >> got to be a coincidence. >> world cup, u.s. takes on

that opposed it. the i.r.s. has now agreed to a $50,000 settlement with the national organization for marriage. the organization sued after finding out that the i.r.s. intentionally leaked private information to the human rights campaign. joining us is the president of the national organization for marriage. good morning to you. >> thank you for having me. i remember this story in the campaign because it came out, mitt romney donated $10,000 to you guys because you're a pro-marriage group. >> right. mitt romney donated $10,000. the fact is that was already disclosed. but this happened in the middle of the presidential election and many people were saying this could never have happened. this isn't true. now we know it is true and it was released from the i.r.s. >> the information was released from somebody at the i.r.s. it got in the hands of a gay activist in boston who worked at the state capital by the name of matthew mizell; right? >> correct. the nfs was an un -- the information was an

unredacted 990 which is our large donors. you have to give that to the i.r.s. but that is private. >> you could tell it was from the i.r.s. by markings on it? >> there was an attempt to cover up the special markings but we had computer guys look at it and they uncovered it and we found these markings that show it clearly came from the i.r.s. >> during your investigation mr. mizell is brought into a deposition and when asked hard questions, he takes the fifth. >> he takes the fifth on questions which involved where did the information come from. that is why at the end of the day because he took the fifth there was no way for us to compel him to tell us who he got it from. >> the person who leaked this confidential information to this guy probably still working at the i.r.s.? >> probably still at the i.r.s. and unless the department of justice and eric holder decide to investigate matthew mizell who has pled the fifth, we're not going to get to the bottom of this. or a special prosecutor.

>> eric holder has said in the past i've looked into the lois lerner thing. no criminality there. what about a special prosecutor? it is clearly against the law and the i.r.s. has admitted they illegally leaked your information. >> right. this is america. we don't expect the government to target groups that it disagrees with. that's not supposed to happen here. yet d.o.j. is not investigating. i'm happy congressman issa and congressman camp are moving forward with investigations. but remember we remember told there is no "there" there on the e-mails. we've been told all along there is no "there" there. when we moved forward with our lawsuit everyone said this is not true. >> why does this matter to everybody? >> it matters to everyone because in this country we cannot have our government targeting groups it disagrees with. that is un-american whether it's our side or their side. it's wrong and we have to get to the bottom of it. >> brian brown, the president of the national organization of marriage. thank you very much.

e.r., you're the one who is going to take care of us, check vitals and deal with the incidents we'll be dealing with in the summer. if your kid sprains? >> ip see a lot of strains and sprains but this is something that can a lot times be treated at home. as a parent you should look at the injury. if there is a deformty that can be a sign of a bone fracture, if the pain is exquisite that is a fracture. remember the acronym rice, r-i-c-e. rest the injured area. compress it, elevate it above the heart. it should get better over a few hours to a couple of days. if it does not get better follow up. this is something you can treat at home. >> what about if you fall off a bike, the kid hits their head? how do you know you can deal with that at home?

>> head injuries are very serious. we see this a lot in the nuts lately with footballs, for example. 50% of traumatic injuries in kids are due to falls. if your kid falls and hits their head get them to the emergency room. watch for dizziness, vomiting. small cuts and scrapes treat at home but head injuries, come to the emergency room. >> bee stings? >> pull out the stinger, wash it with warm soap and water. it can get infected like a cut could. you can do benadryl. >> if your kid is having an allergic reex-, -- reaction, having troubling

breathing, go to the emergency room? >> exactly. we give a drug which can reduce the allergic reaction. but if there is trouble breathing, swelling to the lips, face or tongue, get to the emergency room right away. >> what if you're grilling, they get burned, when do you get to the e.r.? >> first degree burns, redness to the skin, no opening to the skin, those can be treated at home. burns that have opening to the skin or blisters, come to the e.r. burns that have serious consequences, scarring, burn to the hand or the foot, if you have a burn with an opening in the skin, come to the e.r. while you're getting ready to go to the e.r., run it under cool water, put gauze on it loosely but get help because this can have serious consequences long term. >> thank you. still ahead, are we on the

>> i don't blame her for passing the buck on the doughnut. >> maria molina is standing by. she's got the weather update for us. extreme. >> extreme. good morning, good to see you. i want to take you to arlington, texas. take a look at this video of flash flooding that occurred there yesterday. we had showers and storms that pushed through that area producing all this flooding. you can see roller coasters partially submerged in waters. today we could be looking at more flash flooding not specifically in that area of texas but portions of new england. we had a storm system push through yesterday and it is producing areas of heavy rain through the state of maine and also new hampshire. we have the heavy risk this afternoon and this evening in parts of the rockies. that storm system is going to continue to move slowly eastward over the next several days. as we head into friday, saturday, we're still looking at that risk for severe weather across the northern and central plains.

welcome back. president obama turned up the charm for millenialing during his two successful presidential campaigns. >> and so part of my job, i think, as president is to make government cool again and to say to young people -- to say to young people even as we're transforming washington, come on. we want you. we want you to get involved at every level. >> well, now they're turning on him. so why? we have the results in a new book "let me be clear: obama's war on millenials and one woman's case for hope." interesting title. "let me be clear." >> i'm turning barack obama's famous catch phrase against him. i have solutions in this book so we can take back our american dream. >> another part of the title is "war on millenials." are you talking about the fact that while a lot of young people voted for the

president, then-senator and then the president in his reelection. and we've got the graphics, he handily beat john mccain in that graphic, 66% to 32%. although he lost a percentage or two or six versus mitt romney. so he did win with the millenials back then. but now those young people are looking for jobs and they can't find them. >> we're looking at a situation where over 15% of millenials are unemployed and over a third, which is an all-time high for the past 40 years are living at home in their parents' basements. we truly do need to resolve this economic situation where these young people who, without their votes in the past two consecutive elections, this man would not be in the white house. and yet, they voted for him because they thought he was going to create jobs, that he was going to ease student debt. they have all these problems that they thought he would help them get rid of. so i show his socialistic policies are responsible for this situation, but

that. e-mail number one we have right here. she says, upon receiving an invitation of some sort for -- from a group to offer for he and his wife to go to someplace, have a speaking engagement, they actually received this invitation inadvertently in her office. she opens it and says this. is this the one where we got the copy to grassley? did he get the copy to me? looks like they were inappropriately offering a to pay for his wife. perhaps we should refer to exam. >> so we don't know. brian made a great point earlier, what's the mix-up? how did this group send something to chuck grassley and it wound up in lois lerner's hands? extraordinarily, when you examine that particular e-mail, it's pretty clear, it looks to us as if she's trying to target chuck grassley, who even before this whole tea party thing blew up, he has been dogged with the irs about the way they have treated people. so what's interesting about that is where she immediately just -- she gets this thing and says,

it's inappropriate that they pay for his wife. it is not inappropriate for the group to pay for his wife, as long as the following year he declares it on his income tax. but she was first of all, looked like an abuse of power, immediately starting an audit. number two, she's assuming chuck grassley the next year is going to lie on his taxes. >> unbelievable. so let's go on and talk about the interaction. we'll explain and then go over it. the man she was going back and forth with about the grassley situation writes back, not sure we should send to an exam, an audit. i think the offer to pay for his wife's income to grassley and not prohibited on his face, we would need to wait for him to accept and attend the speaking engagement, the sub note there is he didn't. and then determine whether something was redacted -- issues him a 1099. even without that, it would be grassley who would need to report it on his 1040. so lois lerner writes back, thanks. don't know why i thought it was a, we don't know what that word means and why it was redacted.

grassley? did he get the copy to me? look like they were inappropriately offering a to pay for his wife. perhaps we should refer to exam. >> luckily she sent that to one of the tax specialists at the irs who knew the law. clearly she didn't know the law, so matthew said not sure we should send to exam. i think the offer to pay for grassley's wife' income is to grassley and not prohibited on its face. we would need to wait for grassley, one, accept by attending the speaking arrangement and two, determine whether -- and something is blacked out, issues with him and his 1099. even without the 1099, it would be grassley who would need to report the income on his 1040. so what she was doing was as soon as she saw it, she took the power of the federal government into her own hands, targeted him without any proof that he was going to lie on his taxes the next year. >> without any proof or confirmation that he actually accepted the invitation. that his wife did receive and

welcome back. having debt is a major burden, but add a contributor lawsuit and things can go downhill quickly. what are the best ways to protect yourself and your assets if a and when a creditor files suit against you? joining us is bob massi. good morning, bob. >> good morning. >> got some questions here specifically. what happens if a debt is old, whether it's because of foreclosure, credit card debt, personal loans? can a creditor just take whatever assets you have and bank accounts, stock, et cetera? >> yeah. that's one of the biggest concerns that all of us have. i get questions all the time, people i meet, e-mails, saying bob, should i close my bank account? could they go in and take my money out right away if i owe somebody 5,000, 10,000 or from a deficiency? the answer is generally of course not. in order for somebody to get to your assets, you have to be sued, you have to be served with that lawsuit in most cases, unless they can't find you.

that's another technical issue we won't talk about. and they have to get a judgment against you. when they get that judgment against you, elisabeth, then they have to know where to find your assets. legally there is ways to do that. but i want our viewers to understand that just because you get notice from a collection agency or from a deficiency from a foreclosure, it doesn't mean you have to go run and close your bank accounts right there. there is a process and the bottom line is don't put your head in the ground, face it straight up. >> so would you say that running and hiding mode is the biggest mistake someone could make? what are some other mistakes if the people are being sued bay creditor to avoid? >> they get served with a lawsuit. i've had this happen, i can't even tell you how many times. they get served with a lawsuit, they're afraid. they either are completely nonresponsive. they throw it away. they don't understand what they get. the fear and anxiety gets in and they get against what they call a default judgment. a default judgment means that you did not respond to this service of process from a

creditor and they'll come and say, bob, my wages were garnished. how could they do that? and i go through some research on the lawsuit and i say, listen, man, you were served with a lawsuit. do you remember that? oh, yeah, i do remember that. what did you do with that? i didn't know what to do. after a period of time once you're served with a lawsuit, if you don't respond, that creditor can get a judgment against you. please, if in fact you're that unfortunate to get served with a lawsuit and usually the reason you are is because the consumer, the homeowner, all of us ignore and get afraid of what they receive in the mail. go straight on. get a lawyer involved. call them up directly and try to avoid the lawsuit. if you get served, don't run away from it. >> okay. so inaction is not a good strategy. be aggressive and pro-active in this case. >> yep. >> bob massi, always great to have you here. we'll have people continue to send e-mails e-mails in with qus for you. thanks. >> thanks, take care. the obama administration

i've got news to bring you right now. 12-year-old missing boy in detroit was missing for nearly two weeks, but he's found alive in his father's basement. his father finding out about this live on television. look at this. >> we are getting reports that your son has been found alive in your basement. >> what? >> that boy was found in some sort of underground tunnel, we're told and this tunnel was apparently blocked by a barricade inside his father's house. police and the f.b.i. had already searched that home previously and they came up with nothing until they went back to that house. police say they're still investigating whether or not the father was involved, if the boy ran away on his own or if there was a third person involved in this. now, for the record, nancy grace says at this point, she believes the father. but what a strange story coming out of detroit this morning. this morning some police
