they are going their work. hector garza was down there talking ab exactly what happened and why things are so wide open. take a look. >> 45% of the border agents have been reassigned for administrative duties including the processing, transporting aliens and this is the poorest border in the country. the reasons the agents are being or crossing the river is because the coartels are going to try u the border patrol agents and at the same time they can cross the dangerous criminals and things that don't want to get apprehended. >> if it was not helpful to the democratic party, the massive immigration we have had for years now, do you think the obama administration would put up with this and not shut down

burden monetarily for our country, and they are already spreading tuberculosis, scabies and chicken pox and putting our own children at risk of getting these diseases. and the great benefit is not to benefit the american children but to benefit the 2016 democrats in the election. >> you have democrats saying the reason we can't control the borders is because the agents are busy processing, feeding, transporting the illegal immigrants. and we also heard from congressman jim briansteen who finally got to see what one of the facilities looks like. he said all his concerns were validated and saw lots of diseases and even a chart, a board put up with all the diseases listed and the number of children or illegals that has or had these diseases.

many of the kids were abused or trafficked. professionals are working hard to get the diseases under control and the people working inside, the americans and health care workers are doing a great job. but we'll hear from him. >> somehow this good for america? if everyone decision was valued on the basis of that one question, we would be in much better shape. is this good for the country? there's no way this is better for the country. >> many democrats think it will change the voter base in texas, a, and more people will go to the catholic church. many people believe the catholic church is encouraging enough because they want to help the needy but want more individuals going to church. and most of the folks in south america are catholic. here's what's happening in the news this morning. now to other stories making our headlines. we'll start with this news alert. overnight israeli troops were involved in taking out a special launch site.

four special agents were hurt after the raid from the militant group hamas claimed responsibility for firing ten rockets in tel aviv. they are also calling for a cease-fire from the u.n. security council. and a heroic girl whose family was massacred by her uncle in houston is out of the hospital. cassidy stay made her appearance at the memorial service for her family. >> i am feeling better and am on a straight road to recovery. i know that my mom, emmett, beckett and zach are in a much better place and i will see them one day. >> if it weren't for her, the whole extended family could be killed. cassidy survived the ordeal by playing dead after the bullet

grazed her head and called 911. her uncle ronald is charged with capital murder. lightning strikes again at a colorado park killing another person. a group of tourists hiking at rocky mountain national park stopped at the overlook point when the storm was moving in. lightning struck killing one man and hurting 12 others. friday a woman was killed after getting hit by lightning and seven others were injured in that same lightning strike. unbelievable. and did you get to see last night's super moon? it was the first of three this year. check out these shots from around the world. this picture was taken in romania, which next to a lighthouse there, and then in kansas city with the american flag flying. that's beautiful as the super moon is in the night sky. and the super moon was caught on camera during a baseball gauge at dodger stadium in los angeles. huge! that super moon looks super. it happens when the full moon is

well, the defense department sent pink slips to more than 1,000 troops. some officers receiving word while still deployed in afghanistan. one retired army captain said the cutdown is going to cost us. >> for the last 14 years, the conflict in afghanistan and iraq have been fought at the junior officer level. those guys have the knowledge base of counter insurry ji generalcy operations and special tactics, failing to let them pass on lessons to upcoming lieutenants within the pipeline is just minds boggling. >> but it is just the beginning, budget cuts are predicted to shrink the army to the second

smallest size before war. how will this affect military families? joining us is rita hick, and we are grateful to have her on. rita, thank you for coming on. >> good morning, thank you for having me. >> tell us your response to the fact that the defense department is issuing pink slips to soldiers in a combat zone. >> honestly it was a gut-check. because you have a situation where we are over a decade into war and many of the soldiers have been deployed multiple times and are in a combat zone now. and what they should be is laser focused on their mission, but instead that he are given this bombshell news. so instead of worrying on the mission, they have to worry about what is happening to their family when they get home. >> i can't imagine the stress for those at home. the military spouses and children not only worried about what their husband is doing but what they are going to do next

as a family. >> that's absolutely right. honestly, that's a huge point of stress because many military families are single-income families. when you decide to make the military your life, that whole family sacrifice is often military spouses are not able to main taint their own career because every two to three years they follow their service member to a different place. many of them are teachers, nurses or attorneys and every time they move they have to go through the process again. they don't look attractive to employers so maintaining a career while following your service member in this country is nearly impossible. now you have the military families with a military life and there's a huge blow being told there's no place for you. but now they are scrambling trying to figure out how to care for their family. >> does the army help at all? >> yes, the army does help and

there are private resource that is help military families find jobs. and there are resources for those who want to try to hire military spouses through the u.s. chamber of commerce, in your career, there are a lot of resources to help but that doesn't change the process of figuring out what to do next. now you have a service member scrambling to find a new career when they thought the military was going to be their life. and the military spouse also currently is trying to find a career so their family is okay. >> to learn that while at an outpost in afghanistan strikes me as flat-out insulting. >> it absolutely is. it's a huge flow and a betray. when you've been serving our country for so long. many of the years are being let go, multiple deployments, that's a lot of sacrifice and then being told there's no place for

it on to the taxpayers. >> i'm not encouraging immigration, but -- >> encouraging immigration, you see it in maine and wisconsin, churches are helping to resettle refugees from other countries. >> it's the help settle. this needs to be encouraging the legal amry face. >> the church needs to bring responsible for those they bring here. >> it is unfair to force taxpayers -- i don't know of churches encouraging those to come. i think a great principle is that on the one hand, there's a natural human right now to immigrate what leait means in t country. the natural right to leave the country and search for a better life, but there's also responsibility of every sovereign state to control

immigration. so the role is in soccer state. if these catholic churches are helping the federal government take control of the crisis, we can't get into the situation where we say, you can keep letting this unsecure border and this situation is something you don't want to continue. >> many of the countries have been a safehaven for hundreds and hundreds of years. people in the communities would seek refuge throughout south america. why aren't they doing that snow. >> they can't provide -- you can get across the border. it's a broken system. and it's a hypocrite situation.

you have to live in these showers in an unmanufactured jail. how do we handle taking care of god's children. we take care of those in need. we continue to allow the crisis to continue? no, but when somebody is right in front of us who is really suffering, who children, minors who have been abused. you don't throw them across the border. you have to help the one in crisis right now. >> maybe if they are sent home, we can get in touch with churches to make sure they are

soldier reunion 37 years after they were torn apart. joining us now army sergeant louis sierra and army command sergeant major roy sierra. thank you for being with us. >> good morning. >> you were separated at age 3 and 4. you saw each other 37 years ago just a few days ago on july 1st. how did all this unfold? >> i found out that he was coming home. i didn't discuss it with him. he came to fort carson too but deployed to kuwait. and i waited to finally meet him. >> both at fort carson. when he comes home you both meet, what was the first meeting like, the first hug? >> it felt like i already knew him. we have been in touch with social media for a few years

since '08 and '09. we were deployed together in iraq but still separate doing the social media stuff. we have another brother who is in the navy who got us together during that timeframe. when we met for the first time, it was -- >> it was nerve-racking. it's funny, the hug kind of made that closure and stuff -- but it is pretty easy when you have another brother in the army. so it was -- -- as far as who is this guy, that was all out the window. being in this great army and just knowing that he stands for the same thing that i stand for, i don't have to worry about trusting him. i know that there's trust there. we have the same army values.

a judge orders a u.s. jail in mexico to remain behind bars after making his first official appeance in court. sergeant andrew tahmooressi's attorney is confident that his case could be released because of his mishandling by the jail.

the army spouse of the year says this has given soldiers more to worry about before they come home. >> many of these officers have been deployed several times. they should be focused on their mission, but instead they've been given this bombshell news. they have to be worried, was going to happen to my family when i get home? >> so to try to alleviate some of that worry as our heros return home, companies are helping them go from deployed to employed. >> we knew this was coming. at the beginning of the year, we saw at least 90,000 men and women were going to be basically without work because they were going to be leaving their military service. it's unfortunate what they have deal with, they're facing coming home but there's more than 7,000 unemployed veteran necessary this country now and most of

loud. >> nebraska's governor says 200 illegal children were sent to his state this week without any warning. then there's delaware. >> the governor there says he was asked if there were any facilities they could use for people crossing the border. immigration has completely remade the map of the united states and also the political map. if you're wondering way obama won north carolina in 2008, how exactly did that happen? it's a southern state. isn't it conservative? yes, it was, but immigration completely changed who lives there. if you're wondering why the president doesn't seem too concerned, it's because he's the beneficiary of it. >> and also issues whether or not the federal government is handling all of these

inflections across the border. we've heard catholic charities and other organizations getting involved and helping that. so when the federal government can't house these individuals, when the administration calls up and says, hey, governor, do you have any places where we can store these people for a while as they're being processed, organizations get involved and we talked to jonathan morris about this earlier on the show. >> we should not turn churches into a safe haven from the law. in the past that has been done, making churches into some refuge from the rule of law. it's not healthy for religion and it's not healthy for our country. but when there is a time when there are minors here being abused, people with no home and who are really being trafficked, anybody with a heart has to step in and say we're going to protect them.

>> there are organizations encouraging illegal immigration. what i find distressing is when churches that truly are charged by god to minister to people, to help people who feed the soul and body turn to those immigrants and say here is how you get federal handouts. i think they have a christian mission to help people not to pass the buck on to government. that's distressing. >> send us your comments. you want to help other people, but you have to help people here -- but you help people, you don't turn them over for taxpayers to help them sfoop. lightning strikes again in a kol park killing another person. a group of tourists stopped at an overlook point. we've all done that. that storm moved in, lightning struck and it killed a man and hurt 12 others. on friday, a woman was killed after getting hit by lightning. several others were hurt in that strike. a man and his wife were

attack in gaza city going after those rocket launches. four israeli soldiers were wounded. it all happened only hours after central israel came under heavy attack. >> residents in tel aviv in the surrounding area much of saturday night were racing to bomb shelter. hamas issued a threat about an impending attack. israel overnight continued air strikes in gaza. are at least 21 people were killed during a strike at the home of the hamas police chief. many were reportedly leaving a nearby mosque. israel is targeting homes as part of its defense. in total, 120 homes have been bombed. so far, more than 150 people have been could in gaza, many of them civilians, including

children. israel accuses hamas of using its own people as human shields. >> for the past day, israel has been dropping leaflets over northern gaza warning people to evacuate their homes for what is, quote, a brief military operation. this is an area home to over 100,000 palestinians. in the last few minutes, we have seen a number of air strikes taking place in this area, but nowhere near the intensity that has been anticipated. so far today, there have been at least 60 rockets fired. one of them just outside a hotel in southern israel that houses foreign journalists. back to you. >> david lee miller, live for us on the boarder, thank you, david lee. >> thanks, david. let's get over to rick who is standing by with a look at the temperatures. >> we have a birthday back here.

take a look at this picture. an oklahoma congressman being kept out of a detention center in his own state. after two weeks, congressman jim bridenstine was finally let in. congressman, we're grateful to have you in this morning. before i ask you what you saw in the facility, did you ever get to the bottom of how they had the gall to ineffect bar you as a congressman? who did this and why? >> that's an interesting question. i can tell you that the folks that were there yesterday were extremely accommodating, even though we received an e-mail that told us we shouldn't ask questions and if we have any questions, we can e-mail it to somebody and they'll get back to

us. they actually were very accommodating. they answered our questions. we talked to the medical staff. the gentleman that turned me away the first time was not there. i don't know what happened to him, but certainly they were accommodating yesterday. >> i bet they were accommodating. you got all kinds of publicity and we can be certain that he wasn't fired because nobody is ever fired. tell me what you saw inside this facility. >> so i can say that my worst concerns were validated. there are stories in that facility of children who have been abused, who have been trafficked. there are stories of children who have friends that didn't make it. the concern here is a lot of these children have parents in the united states that are here illegally. they are paying coyotes down in mexico and other places to have their children brought here. those coyotes then have to pay transnational criminal organizations in northern mexico. so these children, if the parent aren't paying, these children in many cases end up even into

forced labor or forced prostitution. this is why this is such a human tragedy. there is suffering happening here. these children, again, a large number of them have been abused. and they are the lucky ones. the ones that made it to the united states are the lucky ones. the accounts down south are even worse when it relates to turning your children over to these organized criminal groups in northern mexico. >> well, the risks are obvious and profound. so in order to take them, parents must believe once they get their kids here, they can stay. that's why they're coming in the first place, obviously. why do they think that? >> well, that's true. and interestingly, the children that get here are calling folks that they know in the country. those folks are mostly illegala children are being released to the illegal aliens in our country. this is another big concern of mine and we need more answers on this. who are the children being

book, marriage rebranded. >> thanks for being here. >> nice to have you here. let's start with the premise that millennials are having trouble with dating and marriage. >> we came in, first year of marriage was amazing, got married in our mid 20s, i would say. i would say about 18 months in, we started to hit kind of the very unnatural phase of marriage where the expectations we brought to this very unique relationship started to seem a little shallow. >> so what were the unreal expectations? >> sure. well, i think some of the ones we've confronted in different conversations, it's actually the idea that coming from an instantly gratified culture, we come into marriage and i feel like millennials in general and younger people, as well, we come into marriage expecting the benefits of love very quickly. once again, it's kind of this instant gratification. however, you know, for me in particular, i certainly came, walked the aisle, put a ring on

it and felt like, you know, i could reap the benefits of love pretty quickly. >> that leads us into our first myth that you take on in the book, which is this idea of falling in love. >> sure. >> tackle this one. i found this fascinating. >> yeah. actually, modern thought says we meet someone, we date them, we eventually fall in love and that gives us grounds to get married, right? and honestly, i feel like it perpetuates this thing of us bringing the loaded expectations. in a sense, i feel like the kind of love we're all looking for, which is the true long-term benefits, emotional connection, physical connection, all these things we're looking for, trust, i don't believe that kind of love is something we fall into. i think that's cultivated over a long period of time. >> great. so you build it. so we've got two more myths let's get to. love is free, number two. what do you mean by that? >> slily, the ideal that -- and this was a misconception i

certainly brought to the marriage. the idea that if we find a right away and if we marry a good spouse, that the process together would be natural and easy and it was going to slow. and the reality is marriage is work. and in the end, you know, it comes down to i guess the most beautiful components of marriage is often the sack official giving. that's the currency of this very unique relationship. and once again, i don't feel young people give it the chance to blossom in a marriage. >> myth number three, happily ever after. goes with the other one, right? work at a marriage, it will be fine, you don't have to worry about it. we'll continue this way. >> happiness is going to be part of the millennial situation any way we cut it. we use happiness in terms of marriage. this person is going to make me happy. i got married because i wasn't happy as a single. in the end, i feel like we make the goal of marriage to make us

about. >> it looks like the cost is going to be a lot bigger than that with just 1.5 billion for the department of homeland securi security. you can go on and on what the numbers are as more children come into this country. i think the tab is still being recorded. i don't have a full number for you. this is not only going to be tragic for so many people, but also quite docostly. >> and doesn't it cut to the argument you often here this is a net gain for the united states. how could this ever be in the monetary sense a net gain for the u.s.? >> it sounds extraordinary that it's a net gain at all. in addition to that, look at the human tragedy here. all of these kids are coming and they don't know what their future will be. we have jeff on today, congressman from d.c., basically saying he has solutions to this. this is an enormous problem. everyone is pointing fingers and now we're looking at the costs which is going to add to an already very, very tight and weak economy, frankly. so this is obviously a story
