"outnumbered" starts right now. >> fox news alert. a plane carrying 116 people that vanished off the radar has likely crashed we're now learning. the french ministry of defense says two of its fighter jets are searching for the wreckage now from the air algiers plane from the nation of mali. it took off in neighboring country on its way to algeria. 50 minutes into the flight the officials say the crew's last message ask air traffic control to change its path due to stormy weather. air algiers says no americans were onboard. more news as we get it. ♪ >> and now "outnumbered."

i'm harris faulkner. here today with sandra smith, kirsten powers. >> kimberly guilfoyle, today's #oneluckyguy, brian kilmeade. outnumbered in a lavender tie. >> is that a problem? >> tells me you're in touch with your feminine side. i find that to be special. >> the femininity handled. i need masculine gene right now. a lot of serious stuff going on in the world. >> let's move to it. we begin in the middle east, a new day of heavy fighting in the gaza strip between the israeli military and hamas militants. secretary of state john kerry is in that region as you may know trying to broker a cease-fire still and so far no clear signs of any progress. israel is saying 2,000 rockets have been fired at the jewish state since july 8th and they are fighting back. meanwhile the faa ban on flights in and out of tel aviv has been lifted as questions are growing whether it was actually politically motivated? texas senator ted cruz is asking

about that today. we'll ask more about that in a moment. first let's go to the ground of the let's bring john huddy live on the israel gaza border. john? >> reporter: harris, we're getting more information about the apparent israeli artillery strike on a u.n.-run school serving as a shelter in an area ben anaon in distance behind knee in the northeastern part of gaza. what we're hearing at this point, the artillery fire hit the school possibly according to witnesses on the ground and witnesses came from tank cannon fire from the israel side of the border. the death toll is at least 15 people were killed. possibly as many as 200 were injured battered in a schoolyard, possibly getting ready to evacuate the school. now is unclear why it was hit but the israeli defense forces released a statement saying quote, the idf is currently in

the mid of combat with hamas areas in the area who are using civilian infrastructure and international symbols as human shields. in the course of the afternoon several rockets launched by hamas from within the gaza strip landed in the ben hanun area. the idf is reviewing the incident. this school is one of 83 have that been serving as shelter for the now more than 140 people who have sought refuge into these shelters as they have been trying to escape the fighting and violence as it is now in day 16 operation protective edge and day six of the ground offensive. back on the ground here, we have seen and heard artillery fire, tank cannon fire, all day. in fact in the distance there was just a massive airstrike as well. so the fighting very much continues here along the israel-gaza border as we wait more information and more details about this apparent israeli strike, artillery strike

is worried about america's image in the world. there is perception of the u.s. disengaging from global affairs. a fox news poll, while most voters agree with the president's plan not to get involved in the conflict, 75% think vladmir putin has the upper hand while just 14% think obama does. that is confusing to me, brian. people don't want to us act more but they think vladmir putin has the upper hand. shouldn't we do something about that. >> talking about 17% of the country said do more and 31% thought president doing enough and 34% said he should doal do even less. >> confusing. make sense of it. >> no doubt about it, vladmir putin has upper hand. i'm surprised 14 p% thinks we have upper hand. until sanctions come across. until france cancels a warship order, until we see a move on our side to have massive push when it comes to energy, oil and gas, i don't see any way in which vladmir putin can be

three-day fund-raising trip in los angeles today. he spoke to a group of his biggest donors yesterday and offered up some tough love saying, quote, one of the problems with democrats is we're real good on presidential elections. we get real excited but during midterm elections people don't even know there's an election. we have to step it up in the midterms, not when it is easy, not when it is sexy. not when there are hope posters and singing and it is all cute. you have to got to step up. meanwhile a recent "fox news poll" when showing when asked, has the obama administration been competent and effective managing the if he e federal government. 40% said yes, 58% no. >> wow. >> brian, who is the problem here? is it democrats or maybe the president? >> well, i think there is a couple of things of the president really was sayings, a couple of people walked up to him, why isn't nancy pelosi speaker? you didn't show up to get elected. do they need paint by numbers how government works?

gait c-39. not happy at swa. that is southwest twitter handle by the way. soon after family was seated they were asked to get off the plane. watson says the agent wouldn't let them board again until he deleted that tweet. threatening to call the police. southwest apologized to him in an email by the way. i'm going to put ising out there. i know you will come after me on this one. but from a business perspective, this company, southwest, it is an airline and has a duty not only protect its staff, the crewmembers, because they're on board to keep those, you know, keep passengers safe they have an obligation to protect the other passengers. didn't he present sort after hostile environment with that tweet? >> i don't think so. saying somebody is rude? he didn't say, i didn't even sense rage or something like that when i could see that. i think this person should be fired, the person who was going to call the police, threatening to call the police, for what? there is no violation of the law, tweeting you're unhappy
