6:00 pm
we've had a great time and so glad you joined us for the show. that's it for this week. this is mike huckabee from new york. good night and god bless and stay tuned for "justice with judge jeanine." this is a fox news alert. tonight the crisis in the middle east intensifies. israel offers a 24 hour ceasefire but will continue to demolish hamas military tunnels. hamas rejected that offer. and our embassy in tripoli evacuated as the u.s. tells americans to get out of libya. more on both breaking stories but first to my open. welcome to justice i'm judge gentleman gene piro. christians in the middle east marked for death because of their faith and no one is fighting for them. as christians are slaughtered,
6:01 pm
churches torched and families forced from their homeland the mass murder of christians is underway. while israeli jews are under similar attack at least they have netanyahu, a leader who is willing to fight to the death. so who should be defending christians? who? the leader of the catholic church, the pope. the man who shepherds the faithful. it may seem to you that the destruction of biblical antiquities and looting of churches and the purse cushion of christians are a half a globe away. it's someone else's problem. after all, you're safe. you live in the united states of america. but you need to worry. a reverse crusade is already underway. and some of those extremists are already in the united states. isis, the radicalized islam group that has created a
6:02 pm
caliphate in syria, iraq and jordan issued an ultimatum to christians to leave their homeland, convert to islam or die by the sword. they spray paint the homes of christians to identify those who must convert, leave, or die. and as isis no stranger to technology posts pictures of christians crucified their intent to purge christians from the middle east is unquestioned. and while i'm on the subject of who should be defending christians i might add that we are a nation founded on the ju day owe christian ethic as evidenced by our founding fathers in the declaration of independence and the constitution. so we should be doing something. why is the obama administration's foreign policy ignored the killing of christians in the middle east? why has he provided funding to
6:03 pm
the muslim brotherhood when the egyptians wanted the brotherhood out? and while iran's supreme leader promises a world free of infidels and the flag of islam in all four corners of the world, our president negotiates for iran's nuclear enrichment. but now to the papacy. i'm a christian. i'm a catholic. i went to catholic school. my children are tized. and i mean no disrespect but it is time for the papacy and pope francis in particular to start protecting his christian flock. this month pope francis preached that immigrant children in facilities around the united states should be welcomed and protected. your holiness, they're in the united states. they are protected. they are being given food and clothing and shelter.
6:04 pm
no children are being killed by the united states. but christian children are being killed in the middle east. and while appreciate your prayer for those in the middle east last week, it's just not enough. everything about who we are, evidence of from whence we came as christians is being destroyed. they are taking crosses off churches and turning them into mosques with loud speakers, priceless relics are being destroyed or sold and for the first time in 1600 years, mass will not be held in the ancient city of mosul, iraq, the language of jesus, air mayic could be lost as well as christians who speak it are murdered. your holiness, you are the leader of the flock. you control one of the wealthiest organizations in the

world and with wealth comes power. your recent trips and your planned trips do not reflect the urgent concern necessary for christians in iraq and syria and egypt. your pronouncements span the globe. they repeat it in hundreds of thousands of churches throughout the world to millions of parishioners. every church in the world should be repeating a strong, urgent message from the papacy condemning this slaughter and calling for the world to stop the annihilation of the innocent instead of worrying about immigrant children already protected by america. as a brutal band of guy haddist attempt to remove all evidence of christianity and destroy biblical tombs like that of jonah you must act. your holiness, the papacy was

silent during world war ii and lagged behind the sex abuse scandal. i know. it is time for the papacy to get out in front of this christian massacre. you have incredible power. the vatican is a country with ambassador and a secret service. you can put political pressure on nations. you can provide sangt area. you have resources for humanitarian aid. but most of all, but most of all you have the power of the pulpit. you have the power to change the world. turn the other cheek does not mean that you cannot respond. it does not mean that you cannot provide humanitarian aid. turn the other cheek does not mean that the most you can offer is a prayer. it does not mean that you cannot go to iraq and give those
6:07 pm
christians who are marked for certain death, willing to die because of their belief in jesus, some consolation before their inevitable end. and that's my open. and with me now in defense of christians, senior visor and documentary film maker jordan -- >> you have returned from iraq, syria, turkey and seen the slaughter of christians in the middle east what is going on there? >> thank you for having me on and talking about this issue. what is going on there is nothing short of a religious cleansing, sort of like the one in bosnia years ago. it's at a very important time. we met with christians like you said, in syria, iraq, refugee camps in lebanon and egypt and over and over again, like you
6:08 pm
said, they asked us the same question and we didn't have a very good answer for it and that is what is the west doing? what is the u.s. government doing? what are americans doing to support the beleaguered christian church in the middle east. we didn't have a very good answer for that question because i think first and foremost whether it's religious leaders or elected officials they don't move unless people are aware and put pressure on them. and that's what our organization, in defense of christians, is trying to do. trying to educate people and unify christians and make people away, first and foremost that there are christians in the middle east. i don't think most americans realize there are large communities of christians. >> it's interesting that 10% of the coptic christians or of egypt is made up of coptic christians but all indications are that isis is responsible for
6:09 pm
this. we know they are a radical islamist group. who are they and how are they being funded? >> most likely they are being funded by saudi arabia and some of these radical groups there. but obviously their goal is, like i said, a religious cleansing to get rid of all not only christians but anything to do with christianity, the churches, the crosses, and they want to make it one big saudi arabia. that is not only negative for the christians there but that is a bad thing for the world in general. >> and they are talking about doing it not just in the middle east. am i correct about that? >> i think it would be naive to assume they would stop with just iraq and syria and these countries. i'm sure there is a bigger plan there. if we think they would stop at that point it would be very naive. >> and you know, you believe that the forces eradicating christians in the middle east
6:10 pm
are the same forces that took down the world trade center. why do you say that? and i'm assuming you say there is a national security interest in this for the united states? >> absolutely. i think there is definite ties there. some of the same funding sources involved with al qaeda and isis is a more extreme group than al qaeda. so you know, you have to be aware of that and knowledgeable about that fact. but like i said we need to make sure that we stand for the christians there. when christians are in these communities, there's a real difference. the coptic christians who make up 10% of the population in egypt a lot of times they influence muslims in general in institutions whether it's schools or hospitals and they have a real effect. muslims who are brought up in a christian school or have christian neighbors or friends are a lot less likely to be radicalized than those brought
6:11 pm
up in an extremist environment. >> and what we do know is from what happened in egypt that a lot of the muslims were taking christians into their mosques to assist them and christians were helping muslims. at a human to human level, people can live together as they have for centuries. but it's at the top where this hate and you know, this vitriol and violence is coming down. but what happens if christians are forced out of the middle east? >> well, like i said, each generation is likely to be more radicalized. i want to give you a quick story. we were able to get into syria through the border with turkey. and we met with a pastor. and he and his congregation were helping the muslims who had come from different parts of the country. and they are less likely to be radicalized because of the relationship they have with christians in the area. >> let's hope that the world does get involved and jordan, i

east? >> i think we can and i think we should. the threat that you have described and were just talk about comes from a particular kind of ideology. it's a radicalized version of islam that is thee logically extreme but has an important political dimension to it as well and it's opposing this kind of ideology that i think is important but as of now on which the united states is showing no leadership at all. if anything many of our policies actually seem sympathetic to this ideology or at least unwilling to opposed and the signal that sends obviously is very negative for the christians, for smaller sects of muslim populations and for anybody else who gets in the way. >> and when you say signals, ambassador are you referring to the obama early withdrawal from iraq or supporting the muslim
6:17 pm
brotherhood specifically? >> those are two good places to start. one of the reasons that keeping american forces in iraq would have been a smart thing to do would have been to contain this sectarian conflict and give iraq a chance to knit itself together as a functioning country, opposing the muslim brotherhood in egypt would have sent a signal that we don't believe that groups like that are legitimate participates in a democratic process. you can go on and look at radicalized terrorist groups in syria and yemen and in north africa but the administration has not taken a stand against them. and we are seeing the consequences of that now certainly with isis and syria and iraq. >> ambassador you are very familiar with the role of the militants and what they are capable of. is it their intent to eliminate
6:18 pm
christianity from the middle east but do you think they are capable of accomplishing that especially given the fact that nobody seems to be doing anything? >> i think their odds of success are increasing. this is not an ideological movement in the sense that communism was all flowing from the maxist ideology written by one man. it's much more of a force in differing respects in differing countries but it's all united by the same basic radicalized form of islam and its intense hostility to the west and our values. and that's why i think it's important to recognize this ideology and take steps against it. i think there are many muslims in the region who would stand with us if they thought we would be there for the long haul. so the chaos deepens because of the lack of american leadership. >> and not only that for those
6:19 pm
muslims, i mean, some of them felt not to be, you know, extremist enough, are being killed enough. the sunnis are killing the shia muslims in iraq and in this isis state. but let's move on to this -- to our embassy in tripoli evacuated today, americans told to get out of libya. what is going on there? >> libya has descended into chaos. that was predictable after the west helped overthrow ga dafy as his aid said leading from behind he turned his back on libya. and the central government lost control over much of the country. that is one of the reasons for the murder of chris stevens on september 11th, 2012 and the violence and anarchy has continued to spread. it's the right thing to do to pull people out of the embassy. that's one of the sad, tragic lessons from september 1 isth.
6:20 pm
but when the united states turns its back and doesn't try to protect its own interests this kind of chaos can spread. and i think, again, the possibility of this disease spreading throughout the middle east is growing. i think the entire region is becoming less stable. we can see it all over not least of which is in gaza today. you can see the rise of sectarian and eth nick tensions and every prospect is it's going to get worse as long as the united states doesn't pry try to protect its friends and allies and own interest. >> that vacuum you speak of also occurred in egypt after the overthrow of mubarack. who comes in? morsi. what a mess that was. coming up a coptic christian priest on the persecution of christians. what can be done to help. and are christians worldwide in danger from these radical

6:25 pm
muslims overthrow the muslim brotherhood? >> thank you for inviting me to your show. and i'd like to say egyptians by nature are very moderate people. i came to america like 27 years ago. but the time before that when i used to live in egypt we used to live like in the common land, share everything and have no problem. i graduated from a college of engineering and then my colleagues come to my house and spend the night study together, eat together, go out together, we have no problem. and this problem started when they started this radical group spread all over the middle east. and mainly the brotherhood because in the time of sadat he released some of them from jail and gave them freedom to do just anything to oppose communist in the country. when they started to get stronger, they killed him.
6:26 pm
when mubarack came he started playing between the two sides and finally they planned this general evolution and the evolution in january was really good evolution but was hijacked by the brotherhood and end up being the case in morsi's time as we have seen before. >> right, right. so the egyptian people stood up. the muslims stood up and said we don't want the muslim brotherhood. >> i took 1200 pictures during the revolution in june and i was touched by even people like ladies veiled and grabbing my hand and telling me father would like have to have a picture with you to say we are united against the brotherhood. >> let me move on a little bit here. now, people say that islam, the quran requires a killing of an infew dell and some say it is a

critical situation is they have to be able to destroy the tunnels which amount to being a loaded gun at their head. the tunnels are much wider, much deeper, much more expansive than the israelis understood and they all come out in areas within israel in populated areas, villages, from their standpoint, this goes on until they are able to destroy the tunnels. i think hamas itself will probably look for a way out simply because there will come a point where the amount of rockets they have left they will, in fact be very careful about not wanting them all to be depleted. >> one of the things that appears to have taken the israelis by surprise was the number of tunnels that are there between gaza and israel. how did that happen? >> you know, one thing that happened clearly, is that hamas was able to build in a way that surprised the israelis, number

clutded and the israelis agreed to the terms at that time. it was brokered by the egyptians at that time. clearly now when they look at the reality they're facing they obviously are going to take a very different view as to the kind of monitoring that would be required and who would do it on any materials that would go into gaza. to be fair at a certain level, the israelis understand as well the people of gaza have to be able to live. the question is who is concerned about the welfare of the people living in gaza? hamas puts that in the least bit of their considerations. they put being able to wage war against the israelis as their top consideration. >> what do you think as kerry is pushing for this truce, what do you think it will take, if israel says, look, we agree to a ceasefire but only if, you know, we can continue to go after and find those tunnels, i mean,
6:37 pm
hamas isn't going to agree to that. >> i think the key putting your finger on what is the essential question right now. from the israeli standpoint they have to have sufficient time to be able to ensure that they have found and destroyed the tunnels. these are not tunnels that you know, are 50 meters long. these are tunnels that are several kilometers long. so it takes time to destroy these kind of tunnels. many may be bobby trapped with ambushes built in. it has to take time and done with care. from an israeli standpoint they will accept a ceasefire once they have destroyed this. they still want assurances to not be in a position where this can be easily rebuilt. hamas wants to point to openings of crossings but these don't relate only to israel. so at the end of the day, the key arbiter may be egypt to produce an outcome.

as the crisis on the border continues an even more drushing problem is reerg its ugly head under the cloak of immigration. the illegal trafficking of young males and females by violent cartels. good evening, you believe that many of the children brought across the border are escaping not only from poverty and the perception of crime in central america but from a life of crime as well. and let me see if i understand this. number one, what you see are mothers running from traffickers, voluntarily with their children. and then we've got mothers using coyotes who are then trafficking those young girls as part of a sex trafficking. and then we've got cartels who

are bringing the male boys in to continue their drug traffic operations. so there's almost like three reasons that these kids are coming in. can you explain that to us? >> thank you for having me on your show. as you know, there are 57,000 children that have reached the u.s. border in the last year. and many of these children have come here obviously as a result of extreme violence in their countries, extreme poverty, lack of access to education and to resources. and many of the -- most of the countries in latin america, at least the three we are now seeing with a great influx of children, el salvador, guatemala and honduras are basically being governed by a gang. the gang that acts like a c

cartel. there are 70,000 members of the gang. and the gang is the one that is now controlling the neighborhoods across central america, controlling the drug trade, controlling the trafficking of children. and controlling the trafficking of weapons as well. >> okay but one of the things -- excuse me but one of the things that you say is that once these kids come across the border and even when they are released that they are still controlled by some of the gangs and coyotes bringing them in. >> well, the coyotes bring them in. in order for most of the migrants to come into the united states they have to cross, obviously, through mexico. so the coyotes usually are given

the average rate today is $9,000, by the mothers of these children and they help the mothers -- forgive me smuggle the children and the morris. what is happening today is that the coyotes also know the amount of money that is being made in the trafficking of children. so not only are the coyotes now smuggling the mothers and the children, they are now working closely with the cartels, specifically the mexican cartels in order to smuggle the children and then have them trafficked. and once the children arrive in the united states, those children who have nowhere to go, who run away, of course, are at high risk of being trafficked again. >> thanks so very much. you can read more about this in

we got great responses to my open last week on the way president obama responds to crises overseas and at our border. you can watch my open on my facebook page, judge jeannine. i said it is time to do something reaganesque. and this person says the only thing reaganesque that obama is capable of is taking naps. that's not nice. shery says he can't do that.

he can only do obamaesque. we know that is attending fundraisers and playing golf. but some disagreed with what i said. bradley said the g.o.p. is also using the crisis to rile up its demographic. republicans could recover their dignity if they work at solutions instead of trying to pass blame and bradley says they are working at solutions, bradley, like closing the border so we don't face this every two years. and lucia says i loved you in the past but say i'm disappointed with your using this sad case for throwing jabs at president obama. call him and offer him your ideas. he might take some of them. if i did call him he would never take my call. and number two the reason for the jabs at the president is he
