7:00 pm
we promised you the story about how ok cupid makes profiles, it's on the facebook page we ran out of time. welcome to hannity, and this is a fox news alert. the leader of the hamas military appeared on tv hours ago, announcing that his group has ruled out a gaza truce until its demands are met. this comes as israel escalates its israel operation. the military carried out dozens of attacks today and struck multiple symbols of hamas rule, including the ruling of the hamas leader, and government offices. now, the strikes also damage the only power plan the in gaza. this comes after yesterday's warning by the israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu of a
7:01 pm
prolonged campaign against hamas. for the latest on the ground we turn now to fox's own conner powell. he's standing by tonight in gaza city, conner? >> sean, we have seen this expansion of the military operation here by israel in the last 24 hours as you said, we have seen many more air strikes, they hit the main television, the hamas main television channel in addition to a home run by -- or owned by a senior hamas official. also that power station. but we're seeing strikes on other targets as well. and we understand that hamas is saying, until their demands are met, there will be no stopping them. we're hearing on the israeli side that many officials are saying, this is the chance to defeat hamas once and for all. it looks like we are set for a much bigger expansion of the fighting here, we continue to have rockets fired from gaza into israel. the death toll here is up over
7:02 pm
1100 palestinians. a lot of children, 53 soldiers have been killed here. the israeli military continues to focus on those tunnels. the military now saying they think they're about 60% done with destroying most of their tunnels, and they'll be done with all of them in the next three days or so, the bigger question is what happens once they're done with that. does the israeli military push out into gaza to try to deliver that knockout blow to hamas? that opens up a much bigger problem for israel. and opens up a potential for larger loss of life on the israeli side and palestinian side. that's something we are hearing that israeli officials are really seriously considering, but it does come withdraw backs in terms of more violence and risk of life. a lot of israeli officials are saying this is the only way hamas will be defeated. hamas we know now is not going to give up.
7:03 pm
we are looking at an extended period of violence even after already four weeks of fighting. >> conner, be safe and thank you. meanwhile, back here at home, the crisis on the border may be escalating as well. our friends over at breitbart texas got their hands on some stunning video of illegals entering this country by jet ski ainsley earhart joins me at the big board. >> brandon darby has been reporting on the border from the lone star state. the man driving the jet ski is the actual smuggler, he's transporting a woman and a baby. moments later you're going to see the same man returning on the jet ski without the woman and child on board. then you see the mother and her baby walking on land on the other side of the river, she's now in mission texas. where illegal immigrants walk in plane sight of u.s. border
7:04 pm
patrol agents. they're taken into custody, but because it's a woman and a baby, she and the child will most likely get to stay in the u.s. at least for some time. border patrol agent talked to breitbart texas and explained how u.s. law enforcement is powerless because they're dropping off illegals, they don't get off the jet ski and they don't stand on u.s. soil. border patrol agents are not allowed to arrest them. these brazen acts of defiance are not limited to our southern border. illegal immigrants protested outside of the gates of the white house, just steps from the oval office. voicing their beliefs that illegals like themselves, who bring their children into the u.s. should not be penalized. the group showed no signs that they feared any sort of retaliation by the administration or law enforcement in the d.c. area. pretty incredible. >> the 2008 law, makes an
7:05 pm
exemption, we treat children from central america differently than we treat the kids from mexico. and republicans have been pushing for a change in that provision, they're actually handing themselves in. >> they can't agree on a plan. we'll have to see, they're taking a recess in a few days. >> ainsley, thanks. congress are working around the clock to pass a bill to address this border crisis. they expect to leave thursday of this week for their august recess. molly is standing by in washington tonight with all the details where they stand at this hour, what's going on? >> sean, new details today on the bill from house republicans that deals with the border crisis, it's a $659 million piece of legislation, compare that to the senate's broader immigration reform bill that cost 2 bnt $5 billion. most of the money would go for border security. excluding more national guard troops to the border, as well as
7:06 pm
speeding up judicial proceedings. there's money in the bill to pay for humanitarian care for the unaccompanied illegal children, and money to encourage their home countries to take them back. >> we're going to really speed up sending them back to their homes. working with the countries, they're saying we can take them back. >> the house bill would fund border efforts through september, the end of the fiscal year. the white house suggested this is too little too late from house republicans. >> here we are three days before congress is prepared to leave town for the remainder of the summer, and we see a preliminary proposal from house republicans. that is not acting with a sense of urgency. >> president obama has signaled he may use executive action to act unilaterally on immigration, possibly by granting work permits to people in the u.s. illegally, if congressen cat agree on a bill, the president ultimately may determine he has enough political cover to act
7:07 pm
alone. sean, republicans already are pushing back on that. >> molly, thank you for that report, we appreciate it. and here now to tell us how he would deal with the situation on the border and the growing tension tonight in the middle east. florida senator marco rubio, thank you for being with us. we appreciate it. >> thank you. >> let me start -- you know, the president always says he wants consensus, are there two things republicans and democrats can agree on. the 2008 exemption for the kids in central america. that was put in there for a specific purpose to stop the sex trafficking of children, and number two, can everybody just not agree that we need to control the border? can we not agree on those two specific things? >> that's the heart of why this immigration issue becomes so difficult. america's a deeply compassionate country. every year a million people come here illegally, that's being abused and the result is our immigration problem. the same with this law, the law
7:08 pm
is trying to help children that are victims. they know they arrive here with children or as a family, they're going to get to stay. they're going to be united with family members that claim them. in some instances, when the case comes up, they don't even show up, last week when the hon duran president was here, he was clear, the reason why this is happening ambiguities about our immigration laws. translation, ambiguity, people in honduras, guatemala, el salvador, if they come here, they're going to, for all practical intents and purposes, get to stay. >> it's costing the country a lot of money, if the president moves to act unilaterally, and use what he believes is executive authority, do you believe he has the authority to do that? >> no, he doesn't the. he can refuse to enforce the law, which is what the executive order in essence would do. i would predict he's probably going to. and i've been warning about this
7:09 pm
for over a year, and i warned about this last year, that i thought this is where he would head with regard to this issue. if he gives work permits to five million or six million people, you're going to see an additional surge of people coming, the way this is translated by relatives who call back there, you should try to come here, this country is accommodating people even though they're violating the law, it's just a lure to bring more people over illegally. >> you took a lot of heat from con servetives over the immigration law that was passed in the senate. you said many times you wouldn't support that bill today, what is the bill that you would look to support today. >> no, first of all, the way the bill did it was in large part, it began with this enforcement, now i think it's pretty clear in order for there ever to be any movement on immigration reform, which i continue to believe this country needs, you need enfor enforcement reform. you can't begin to discuss these other issues. especially given what's
7:10 pm
happening, unless you first deal with that, and that's critically important. we have to enforce our immigration laws. ultimately you're going to have to deal with the fact that you have 12 million people living here for a decade. you begin to enforce the law. >> you are a secure the border first person? am i speaking for you? >> yeah, i've always believed that's critical. that's the direction the senate bill went. i ultimately always believe you can't even begin to touch the other elements of it until you do that first, that is especially true now given this crisis. >> let me ask you, moving on to israel, the administration constantly pressuring israel to stop their battle with hamas. do you think what we give the palestinian hamas government as much money as the united states does, like we gave mow hanl ed morsi, the former head of the muslim brotherhood, president of egypt at the time, all of this
7:11 pm
money and f-16s, are we making a mistake? are we becoming de facto supporters are what are terrorists and terrorist groups by doing that? >> the law says we can't do that, and here's the reason why that money goes to the palestinian authority, so that they're security forces can provide security and fight against extremists in what they call the west bank. once they linked up with hamas, now basically you are giving that money to a unity government which hamas plays a role in. that's the reason we shouldn't continue to do that, unfortunately, we are now in a position where these two have come together, there's no way of telling whether the funds that are going to the palestinian authority wind up in the hands of hamas. >> what should the president be doing, it seems like we're pressuring the wrong side here, what would we do if we had 3,000 rockets fired into american cities? what would we do here? we would break up the infrastructure of the terror groups, right? >> we should treat our friends
7:12 pm
as friends, and we have no stronger ally probably anywhere in the world, but certainly in the middle east and israel. and we should link arms with them and understand what they're going through now, and in no way create any daylight between us. i'll tell you when there's a cease-fire, when hamas ceases to exist. israel has no choice but to do everything it can to dismantle hamas, and it is tragic that sevilcivilians are dying, and children are dying hamas are telling people and asking people to put themselves on rooftops and expose themselves to danger while their leaders are hiding in bunkers. >> do you believe it would be an error if israel did not break up their entire tunnel system and take out all their rocket launching facilities? >> absolutely. this is hamas' purpose, this is the third time in five years they do this. >> senator, good to see you, thank you for being with us, appreciate it. is the obama administration
7:13 pm
abandoning israel? a former israeli ambassador is going to join me next. and he's holding nothing back, when it comes to president obama and his inaction during this crisis. plus, also tonight on hannity -- >> the problem is, and this is something -- i'm not a military planner, hamas puts its missiles, it's rockets in civilian areas. they put their command and control of hamas military leaders in those civilian areas. >> that's why they put missiles and fire them from schools and hospitals? have you heard that correctly, hillary clinton's bizarre explanation as to why hamas is storing their arsenals among civilians. we'll discuss that and much more on this busy news night. try dul. dulcolax is comfort-coated for gentle, over-night relief. dulcolax. predictable over-night relief you can count on.

7:15 pm
7:16 pm
welcome back to hannity, at a time when one of our closest allies needs us the most, the white house appears to be turning its back on israel. the jerusalem post sums it up. the title of a recent article reads, candidly speaking, obama is abandoning israel. they are not the only ones who feel that way. michael orrin good to see you. you wrote an article yourself that i agree with in total. israel must be permitted to crush hamas. why do you say that? >> good to be with you, sean. israel has to be allowed to crush hamas, and as -- this is now the third round that israel's had with hamas in the last six years, we also had a rounds with hezbollah, it's always the same pattern, they fire thousands of rockets at us, we try to defend ourselves, we
7:17 pm
get branded by the world as war criminals and we get a cease-fire slammed at us that ties our hands enables the terrorists to build up bigger rocket arsenals with longer range missiles and they choose the time when they fire again. this not only endangers israelis, but endangers palestinians. each round is more severe and palestinians who are used as human shields by hamas and by hezbollah, more of them get killed or injured. we have to break this pattern once and for all. >> let me go to the hamas charter. the idea that there'sfully moral equivalence is shocking to me. israel will exist and continue to exist until islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it. now, they're calling for the destruction in their charter of the state of israel. we give this coalition government tax dollars. are we by pressuring israel to pull back from breaking down the
7:18 pm
infrastructure and tunnels, are we meaning the administration, john kerry, barack obama, are they becoming the de facto supporters of hamas, because it seems like they are? >> well, for one thing, the charter calls not only for the destruction of israel. hamas promises to kill every ju in the entire world. >> it's a genocidal organization. extraordinary. this week american trained palestinian security forces on the west bank actually guarded a hamas demonstration. so american taxpayers are paying to guard them on the west bank. it's not a rational explanation. the obama administration is engaged in negotiations with israel, with other elements in the middle east, some of them are not very helpful. the qataris and turks certainly
7:19 pm
not. >> hang on a second. >> didn't he refer to bb as hitler and -- >> worse than hitler. >> isn't qatar financing hamas? aren't they giving them money to buy the munitions? >> they financed the rockets, the finance the tunnels, they basically finance this war. not helpful as i said before, not having them involved. but -- >> for the sake of my audience, let me try to put america in your shoes for a second. imagine in two thirds of the american people were spending time in bomb shelters in the last month. imagine that kids had underground bomb shelter playgrounds where the israeli children are now playing because they can't playout side because the rockets allow you 15 seconds to be safe. america was hit in its towns and cities with 3,000 rockets. this is what the white house
7:20 pm
press secretary said to israel. does that mean he would handle a situation similar to what you're facing? >> israelis need to do more to live up to the standards they have set for themselves. to ensure the safety of innocent civilians on both sides of that border, including a palestinian people. it is apparent from the reports we have seen about the civilian deaths that there is more that the israeli military can and should do to account for the safety of palestinian civilians. listen to what jen saki said, israel needs to pull back. >> israel, i think we've long believed and continue to believe they have the right to defend themselves. when you have indiscriminate rocket attacks threatening your people, they have every right to do that, but at the same time, we've been calling for a cease-fire as has the u.n., this
7:21 pm
is what the secretary's focused on, the violence has reached a point where it needs to pausz, it needs to stop and we need to find a way to find a diplomatic solution. >> if you don't destroy the tunnel system and infrastructure, you don't destroy the rockets, you're going to be back there in three months, six months or a year, are you not? >> let's go back to the white house spokesman. as a citizen of israel, a 30-year veteran of the army, as a father of three soldiers, i take strong exception to that remark that israel is not doing enough. israel is doing more than any army in military history to try to avoid civilian casualties. israel drops hundreds of thousands of leaflets. >> i'll show the video of israel dropping those leaflets. as i understand it, you even make calls and texts to the homes and areas that are about to be bombed, is that true?
7:22 pm
>> and recon sense planes count the palestinians leaving every house. the israeli news reported today that 20 palestinians in the west bank were shot dead by hamas for trying to protest against the war. hamas dragged out another 30 palestinians today and shot them sum air illy, accusing them of collaborating with israel. one of those 50 people shot to death by hamas are considered among the casualties. and the white house talks about published reports, indicate that israel could have done more to reduce casualties. i wonder what reports they're referring to, by al jazeera? reports by the united nations that brought us a couple years, the goldstone report, which accused israel of war crimes in we're going to have all those accusations disproved, the judge apologized for. what publi >> i go back -- >> i'd like to know. >> ambassador, i go back and

say, if these were 3,000 rockets in american towns and cities. if this was two thirds of the american population, that would be 200 million people in bomb shelters. >> exactly. >> are we saying we wouldn't knock out the infrastructure of the enemies that were attacking us? that raises a serious question from my perspective about moral clarity. and what i would call moral corruption if we don't see who's right and who's wrong here. >> police understand what's going on in gaza, but an hour from here, there are 70,000 israelis, most of them are reservists who have left their homes, families, jobs. they signed on to guns, something like the minutemen, the american revolution, they've gone out to fight for our homes. america's had a lot of war weariness. i was witness to it in washington for five years. that was after a decade or more of war in iraq and afghanistan. we've been at war for 66 years
7:24 pm
here, and war weariness is not an option for us we can't bring our troops home. >> understand -- >> they're calling for your destruction, how could you not fight that? >> it's even more than that, sean. what israel is fighting an hour south of where i'm talking to now, it's not just for israel's safety, it's for the safety of view. hamas is no different than al isis and nusra, it's the same radical jihadist theology that seeks to destroy israel. they're a stepping stone on the route to destroying the west. you have 70,000 israelis fighting for you. make no mistake about it, that's why israel has to win this round. we have to break that sickle, crush hamas and create a new status quo down there. >> if america does not stand with israel, it is deep moral corruption in my view.
7:25 pm
thank you for being with us. coming up next on hannity. >> we have to confer with the qataris, they have told me that hamas is a humanitarian organization. >> what? we'll show you who is jumping on the bandwagon, here's a hint. she is a potential 2016 front-runner. the white house now fund-raising on the narrative that some want the president impeached. their profits will leave you sun. dana and roy are here to tell us about that. because the best moments in life aren't experienced from the sidelines. now there's nothing holding you back. this is nexium level protection™. the #1 prescribed acid-blocking brand. now without a prescription for frequent heartburn.

the reason they fire rockets from schools and hospitals is because it's a densely populated area? is that you're understanding, they're a humanitarian organization whose charter calls for the killing of jus and the destruction of israel? help me out here. >> it's indisputable, hamas is a humanitarian organization, in the fine tradition of humanitarian organization such as the nazis. what on earth? let's deal with hillary first. hillary clinton, hey, remember she was our secretary of state of the united states of america. guess what, gaza was on the radar back then, israel was on the radar, and she doesn't have any idea how large the gaza strip is, the gaza strip is just over four times the size of manhattan island in other words, there's a fair chance that hamas
