from the rising water. it is not over yet. maria has more from the weather center. >> three inches of rain may not sound like a lot to many people across the country but three inches of rain is a lot of rain and capable of producing very significant flash flooding across this part of the country across the southwest. this is an area we typically don't see much rainfall but we had a hurricane so a lot of tropical moisture in place. it was pretty far away and has dissipated since but the moisture impacting weather across arizona and also in southern california. you can see across the past 24-hours still picking up a lot of rainfall. the forecast is for more rain. some areas could see additional rain. not only in arizona but portions of colorado and also in utah. this will continue to be an issue. we continue to see the flash flood watches in effect

stretching as far west as southern california and western colorado. the possibility is still there for additional flooding. temperature wise off to the east across the plains it feels like the 90's in parts of kansas. we are seeing big time change out here in terms of the temperatures. we will see a cold front moving southward and ahead of the system today and tomorrow. we have the potential for sever weather in parts of iowa, kansas, nebraska and into missouri could be looking at possibly tornadoes damaging winds and even some large hail from some of these storms and tomorrow the severe weather risk is further off to the east into parts of the great lakes and the midwest. take a look at the significant drop in temperatures out here. places will be looking at highs only in the 50's like denver and also in far go. let's head over to you. let's check back with you. >> voters head to the polls in
