multiple sources that he made it further into the president's residence than the secret service has publiclied ay ediei admitted to. he was tackled 168 feet away from where he entered the white house. gonzalez entered no plea at his only court appearance. the fighting near the syrian city kobani picking up with isis troops moving further into the region. they intensified the shelling of each other. control of kobani is central to isis strategy for control of the region. meantime, the u.s. led coalition launching eight more air strikes targeting isis positions in northern and eastern iraq. i'm kelly wright. coming up next, "hannity." welcome to "hannity." this is a fox news alert, tonight, radical muslim cleric anjem choudray joins us. a "hannity" exclusive, his first u.s. interview after being arrested in london on suspicion of supporting and encouraging

terrorism. that's moments away. first, president obama facing major backlash after blaming his director of national intelligence james clapper for underestimating the threat posed by isis. watch this. >> how did they end up where they are in control of so much territory? was that a complete surprise to you? >> well, i think our head of the intelligence community jim clapper has acknowledged that i think they underestimated what had been taking place in syria. >> he didn't just say that we underestimated isil. he said we overestimated the ability and the will of our allies, the iraqi army, to fight. >> that's true. >> fox's own ed henry is standing by at the white house with the details. ed, he threw clapper and the intelligence community under the bus, but he's the one that said in january they're the jayvee team. >> good evening. certainly it seems like today what josh earnest was trying to do at the podium behind me was slam the brakes on that bus

and say look, we're not throwing jim clapper, others in the intelligence community under the bus, insisting it was not, in the words of josh earnest, the intent of the president to pin this on jim clapper. but the question to president was were you surprised. his answer was not about his own personal responsibility in the matter. instead, he shifted it to, well, jim clapper says that they in the intelligence community underestimated all of this. and what the white house was trying to do today was say, look, everybody in the administration was to blame for not seeing isis grow so quickly. basically trying to broaden it out and claim the president was not pinning it on clapper. listen. >> why did he use the word they? they underestimate. why didn't he say we? isn't jim clapper part of the president's team? >> of course he is. the president has confidence in director clapper. >> so everybody in the u.s. government was surprised at that? nobody failed? nobody's going to be held accountable? >> ed, predicting the will of foreign security forces to fight for their country is difficult.

>> now, why might the white house be trying to massage that answer from the "60 minutes" interview? there was backlash from within the intelligence community about how all this played out. look at this quote from the daily beast. a former top pentagon official "either the president doesn't read the intelligence he is getting or he is -- expletive there." while clapper of course as the president said in the "60 minutes" interview did earlier this month did say tell "the washington post" that clapper underestimated the will of isis fighters to continue on. not just from iraq but across the border into syria. and overestimated the ability of the iraqi army to fight back. we should note that way back in february open congressional testimony clapper, other intelligence officials were warning about not just isis in fairness, but over terrorist groups as well that in the words of clapper then could take advantage of the humanitarian crisis inside syria and become a

real threat to the u.s. as well as the region, sean. >> remember catherine herridge will join us in a minute talked about for over a year the presidential daily briefing they've been giving granular detail about the rise of isis. that would contradict that. >> sure. >> was there any clarification about the president's remarks that we're not at war with isis? or have they also officially decided that what happened in oklahoma's a beheading and that it was an act of terror? >> well, i think there's a couple things here. i think what the president was trying to do again in "60 minutes" interview was downplay this was a full-scale war. his delineation in the bush administration had well over 100,000 troops on the ground in iraq. to him, that's a full scare war. currently now air strikes and a small number, 1,600 or so of u.s. troops, on the ground is not a full-scale war. the fact of the matter as he was pressed by steve kroft he had to admit that look, they could eventually be in combat if they're shot at.

no matter what you call it, a war or not, they're in theater. and they are in combat once they are on the ground, sean. >> all right. ed, thank you. meanwhile, a military intelligence official told fox news that the obama administration have had options on the table to target senior leadership from the khorasan group and isis for the past year and a half. and despite reports circling that the leader of the khorasan group has been killed by air strikes in syria, u.s. officials have yet to confirm his death. fox's own catherine herridge is in washington tonight with all of those details. catherine. >> thank you, sean. a military intelligence official told fox news that the administration did have options on the table to target senior leadership, that the khorasan group and isis in the 18 months leading up to the air strikes in syria. and while the president blamed the intelligence community for underestimating the threat in that "60 minutes" interview, the official said the threat from both groups was well-documented in the president's daily brief. unlike his predecessors, mr. obama often reads the highly classified document on his ipad rather than take it from a cia briefer in person. the official told fox the intelligence community pushed hard to identify the leadership,

such as al nasur and fadly, but of the khorasan and long-standing ties to osama bin laden. but the targeting packages were ultimately turned down by the administration. meantime, u.s.-led air strikes according to britain's guardian newspaper are bringing isis and the al qaeda affiliate in syria, the nusra front, of which khorasan is part, together to put their differences aside. both want to lead the global jihadist movement. and in february the head of the defense intelligence agency specifically warned congress that isis and al qaeda's nusra front would likely make land grabs by the end of the year. administration critics say flynn's candor cost him his job. >> the white house didn't want to hear it. so you had a situation where the best director of d.i.a. we've had in many years, general mike flynn, was pushed out because he was telling the truth. >> u.s. officials are tracking reports that a senior khorasan operative is dead.

but the president's deputy national security advisor says there's real concern that the group is putting out disinformation, sean. >> catherine, help me with the timeline. if you go back to 2012, the president's saying that the al qaeda has been decimated and degraded. that was the whole part of the campaign. yet we're hearing with the khorasan group that all bin laden lieutenants who had moved into syria and into the area. and they're saying, oh, we've got all these guys now. wouldn't that be contradictory? >> you're right. these statements cannot be reconciled. what we know even on the record from attorney general eric holder is that they have been tracking khorasan for at least two years in iraq and syria. khorasan is core al qaeda. this is al qaeda senior leadership. this is the inner circle. they have simply moved out of afghanistan and pakistan. and they have relocated to syria. to say the leadership is decimated is either a denial of the threat in the facts on the ground, or a complete misunderstanding of what core al

qaeda really is, sean. >> they knew -- in other words they also knew before the election while they were making those claims that these were bin laden's top lieutenants. >> it would be. it would be two years. and i would argue that it's consistent with what we saw in benghazi, which was a denial of the threat and a denial of the facts on the ground when that attack took place thinking it was some kind of demonstration rather than simply a terrorist attack. >> it's not a nuance, it's a big deal. catherine, great reporting. thank you. >> you're welcome. meanwhile, the suspect in the oklahoma beheading is now awake but not well enough to leave the hospital. alton nolen is expected to be charged on first-degree murder this week after killing one woman and attacking another last thursday. fox's own garrett tenny is standing by at the police department in moore, oklahoma. he has the very latest. >> reporter: sean, the cleveland county district attorney's office tells me they plan to make an announcement tomorrow on the charges in this case. earlier this afternoon the moore police department met with the d.a. to present the evidence

that it's collected in this case and to recommend charges of first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon. not anything related to terrorism. now, the man in custody, alton nolen, you mentioned he is still in the hospital. that is after the off-duty deputy shot him to stop this attack. he's expected to be released some time tonight or tomorrow. and he'll be taken to a county jail until those charges are filed and a court date is set. over the weekend though his mother released a video saying that this isn't the christian son that she raised. >> my son was a good kid. you know, i know what they saying that he's done, but i'm going to say this. that's not my son. there's two sides to every story. i want to apologize for both families because this is not alton.

i'm praying that justice will prevail. the whole story will come out. >> the 30-year-old converted to islam earlier this year. and you can see the difference based on his facebook post. it goes from posting about sports, music and girls to all of a sudden you start seeing quotes from the quran as well as pictures of osama bin laden in what appears to be islamic radicals with guns and rpgs. the fbi they are looking into this case as well to determine whether or not there are any links to terrorism. thus far we have not heard that they have found anything along those lines though, sean. >> garrett, thank you. my next guest, anjem choudary. made headlines last week after being arrested on terror charges in london. the controversial muslimhas adv become an islamic state and follow sharia law. he is also suspected of radicalizing hundreds and is believed to have ties to isis

including links to the man who is suspected of beheading james foley. joining us now in his first u.s. interview after being released from jail is london imam anjem choudary. rather than argue, you've been on the show before. i'll ask a question and give you 20 seconds to answer, is that fair? >> okay. the first question i have is you refuse to kill the beheading of innocent people, james foley, other innocent individuals beheaded by isis. my question is very simple. why would you hold innocent people responsible regardless of what you think the reasoning is behind it, why would you hold them responsible for something they themselves did not do? >> when i thinking about the information we received sadly is very biased. if you look at what the people are saying who are holding these hostages, they are willing to exchange them. they are talking about the fact there's no stability and no security in muslim country because of the u.s. and british foreign policy. if you look at the whole picture you will find in fact there's another story. until we hear that story --

>> one guy was an aid worker that went to syria to help innocent children. i hardly think he was a guy that deserved to have his head chopped off because you believe in a caliphate. >> well, you know, i don't take my news from fox news or the bbc. if you look at the people on the ground, i think you'll find they have a completely different story. the christians and jews are living quite peacefully in fact in the islamic state at the current time. >> let me ask you this question, would you desire yourself ever want to join isis and fight with them considering you think their cause is so noble? >> well, you know, sean, isis don't exist anymore as you know. the islamic state is made up of many organizations and bodies. millions of citizens are living there under the sharia. of course i would love to live under the sharia. i've said that before. i would like to bring up my children. under the sharia. and in fact my passport was taken on friday so in fact it makes it difficult for me to travel now. >> do you believe that suicide bombers get 72 virgins in heaven if they kill innocent men, women and children? >> you know, nobody will kill

innocent men, women and children. in the battlefield you know people kill each other. >> talking about suicide bombers. >> tommy franks -- >> suicide bombers go into open marketplaces and blow themselves up and there are people there that are nonpolitical that get killed. do you believe when they go to heaven that allah gives them 72 virgins? >> this is just not the reality. if you look for example at the marketplaces in afghanistan and pakistan, usually you find black water, some american company, the isil pakistan killing innocent people and blaming the taliban. there's nothing called suicide in islam. there's something called using your body sometimes on the battlefield against the enemy. if you kill yourself because you're depressed -- >> after they killed people. i know, i'm asking a specific question. do you believe after they kill people that they go into the arms of allah and that allah gives them 72 virgins? >> you know, i believe that if someone sacrifices his life for the sake of allah, you know, and

he does something which is allowed islamically, then this man is shaheed. the prophet promises much more than 72 virgins in the here after. he'll have everything he wants. i think you underestimate what allah can give you in the hereafter. >> do you want to see a worldwide caliphate? in other words do you want the entire world to either convert to islam or that they would be viewed as infidels and should be killed? >> no, that's not true, sean. the reality is that we've had the sharia before and now we have it again. the nonmuslims can live quite peacefully together with the muslims side by side as you saw in spain for over 800 years. they can return to their life and be protected, but by all accounts which is much more. they can have their own places of worship. and they can do their own rituals. in many respects in fact in all respects it's much better than the system we have today in america and britain. >> why are you on welfare? you get $25,000 a year the equivalent of welfare? >> you know. >> why don't you work? >> don't believe everything you read in the british media.

>> is that true? >> i do something in fact for a living. i'm not on job seekers allowance. >> do you get welfare? >> i beg your pardon? >> do you get type of assistance? >> everybody gets something for their children. but it's irrelevant. when was someone not allowed to have his voice heard. are we saying that everyone now in the poverty line in america shouldn't speak? over 40% of the people in america on the poverty line who need welfare benefits. you want to speak about the politics -- >> i'm listening to you. you make -- you dismiss that james foley and these three other people that were beheaded on this brutal video, you deny that that is terrorism. but yet you say people should be proud of the word terrorism "proud to be called terrorists" and that "you urge followers to rise up." you talk about suicide bombers and you suggest that, well, you know, it's all part of this war. what is the war? what is it -- you seem to support isis. you seem to support terrorism.

enemy, amputate their limbs. i know, sean, the common argument is oh, that's a perversion of islam. there are 130 million muslims who embrace radical islam if that many people are getting it wrong, there is something wrong in that religious system. and i think it is time for those of us who are christian leadersç to stand up and say without equivocation that god has granted government the right not just to stop evil but to pursue evil doers and obliterate evil from the face of the earth. that's romans 13:4 that says government is an avenger of god to bring wrath upon evil doers. it's time for us to bring some wrath, some fire and brimstone against this evil, evil group. >> father? >> you know, i think in the united states of america thank god we have a tremendous respect for religious liberty. with that comes a danger that if you cloak anything in the name of religion, well then therefore it must be respected as good. that's not true because we can

[ roars ] welcome back to "hannity." alton nolen, the suspect in the oklahoma city beheading recently converted to islam and has since posted hate-filled islamic extremist rants on his facebook page. while nolen is expected to be charged this week, no terrorism charges are expected. joining me live from oklahoma two reporters from the moore daily, why is that the case? why not terror related, sarah? >> i think at this point it's still such an open investigation and it's still so early on. i know that the fbi did release a statement on friday. and that's the last that we have heard from them on any charges relating to terrorism at this time. it didn't really appear there was any form of danger, but i know they're still actively

investigating that. and so at this time i think it's just under investigation and they haven't came to any conclusion as far as that goes. >> all right, what about, rob, the fact that prosecutor says this guy still should have been in jail, still should have been in prison? >> well, there's a lot of discussion on that in the early credits release program that allowed alton nolen to get out of jail after just two years of a six-year sentence. there's obviously going to be some review of that policy. david prater, the oklahoma county d.a., was particularly upset with that fact. >> what about the second oklahoma muslim arrested after the beheading threat? what do you know about that? >> well, we know that actually happened on september 16th. and it was bellevue nursing home in the north part of the city. the gentleman in question, i conversation with the ladyritha

who worked there and told her he was associated with isis and said he was going to behead her. she turned that in -- actually, some co-workers overheard the conversation and called the fbi. when he was questioned about it, he said he was just joking. but obviously that's not the kind of thing you joke about. now after the nolen incident, his charges have been upgraded to a terrorist threat. >> sarah, let me ask you one last question. one newspaper in town reported that nolen was fired up about an argument over whether women should be stoned to death if they violated islamic law. that would seem to me and based on the beheading aspect of this that that would be terror-related or at least lone wolfish as it relates to the plea by the leader of isis. >> you know, i think it's just too early on to make a conclusion like that. i'm just sticking to my guns relying on the police and fbi to fully investigate and give us the feedback we need to move forward and inform the community on any possible threats that could come from it. >> all right, sarah, bob, thank you.

meanwhile, the mainstream media is trying to put their liberal spin on this story. watch this. >> i would be remiss not to bring up the story out of oklahoma. it is a story that i read as a workplace violence story. >> there were over 500 workplace killings last year. we don't know about the religions in any of the murders. if someone is muslim, it's got to be a terrorist. >> joining us the author of "counterfeit lies", lieutenant, look at the time line. 22nd isis says go out and behead them. 25th this guy does it. uses the same tactics as isis. now we have nbc news reporting workplace violence just like ft. hood all over again. seriously? >> yes, seriously. because the narrative of more terrorism in america does not fit with an election coming up in 36 days. look. the very first one in this administration's back in june of 2009 even before we had decapitated core al qaeda. abdul hakeem mohamed, a convert

to islam in jail by the way, kills two soldiers in front of u.s. army recruiting office. and it's not terrorism. i mean, if you think about it, it all begins with this administration's narrative that these are not dangerous people. malik hasan shoots and kills 13 people at fort hood, texas, wounds 30 others. and when you look at what they end up charging him with, it's workplace violence. the bottom line is they do not want to acknowledge what's really happening. >> three things that happened now, the president this weekend blames the intelligence community, they, he says, he blames everybody else. then he says we're not at war. wouldn't say we're at war with isis even though we're dropping bombs on them, so he says. and he can't -- nobody that i know in the administration can say what happened to this woman even though this guy was talking about and arguing -- fired over an argument over the need to stone women if they violate islamic law. they won't call the beheading terrorism. how do you win a war when you

can't acknowledge the basics? >> i actually watched that show. he was also asked the question are people in the united states better off than they were six years ago. he rephrased ronald reagan's four years ago question about jimmy carter. the question ought to have been is are we safer. the president of the united states is in denial about what's been shown in the presidential daily brief, about what's going on in syria, about core al qaeda and about people who are being radicalized just by watching stuff on the news. look, there's no doubt there's such a thing, sean, as copycat killings. copycat actions. there's no doubt that those kinds of things happen. but when you look at the timeline as you just pointed out and you know that centcom has been preparing targets in syria and iraq for over a year, that the kurds have been appealing for u.s. help for more than that length of period of time and the director of national intelligence is damaged goods, general clapper, he has been

live from america's news headquarters, i'm kelly wright. lawmakers are expected to grill the head of the secret service during a hear on capitol hill tuesday. this will come on the heels of new reports revealing that an intruder made it farther inside the white house than the secret service has publicly acknowledged. sources with the incident say omar gonzalez managed to run past the front door guard and into the east room about halfway across the first floor of the building. gonzalez was eventually tackled by a counter assault agent. the first family was not home at the time. a dallas hospital is isolating a patient who is showing signs of having the ebola virus. doctors at texas health presbyterian hospital dallas say the patient's symptoms and travel history suggests he may -- the patient may have ebola. the virus has killed more than 3,000 people in west africa. in oklahoma, prosecutors are expected to charge 30-year-old

welcome back to "hannity." here to talk about that and more is the author of the way forward, wisconsin congressman paul ryan. sir, good to see you. appreciate you being here. i can't figure this race out there. is a poll out today by gallup that showed half the country wants more government. half the country wants limited government. we're pretty evenly split. >> well, i think we owe to it the country to show how we odo things differently, how we would apply our limited government principles to the problems of the day to show they're better solutions than the kind of government we have got. most americans by a large plurality believe that the country is on the wrong track. that means their minds are open to the way forward which is why i wrote this book. mitt romney and i had a challenge in 2012 because we were debating against big government in theory. it was obama's rhetoric, but

results meaning he delayed putting his programs in placeth in until 2013, 2014. now we have big government in practice. now we see what an embarrassment obamacare. now we these these things aren't like anything but how we would do things differently. >> here is my only criticism. it's not of you. i like the idea. i read your book very closely. i don't agree with all of them, but it's a vision, and it's a conservative vision. i can't think of much i disagreed with, why isn't the party adopting six point, eight-point plans and say we're going to do this, this, and this. >> the problem is we have done too much of that. >> you think so? >> i got it. you think most people have it, i can't even name ten of them. >> exactly. >> i think i would have preferred your plan which is just do a small number and hit it over and over and over again. >> right. >> instead what we did is we overperformed in many ways which means we have passed dozens of

think in your debate that romney is going to invade syria, you guys were right. you would like to see mitt get back in. >> i think he was a guy ready for the time. he has the character. he has the integrity. he has the foresight and the temperament to be a fantastic president. wouldn't have joined his ticket if i didn't think he would be outstanding. >> scott walker. i think he has done a great job. why can't wisconsin go red? >> traditionally we haven't gone red in a presidential election since 1984. it is a state that is -- that typically has more democrats than republicans particularly in presidential election years. in off year elections, which is right now and this is why i believe scott walker will be re-elected, it's after he's being just hit torrential downpour of negative ads. three elections in four years. >> i still think scott's going to get through this because, you know what? he did what he said he was going to do and the reforms worked. and the people in wisconsin know that. but the challenge in wisconsin is just like many other rust belt states is we tend to go

welcome back to "hannity." now the unrest in ferguson, missouri exploded again saturday night when a police officer who was shot in the arm during a routine check at a community center according to the police. now ferguson made international news last month when a white police officer shot a black teenager and killed him. saturday night's shooting took place around the same time as the protests of michael brown's death. but the st. louis county police say the shooting appeared unrelated to the protest. siriusxm radio host david webb.

first of all, multiple shots were fired. this was in the exact area where they were having a, quote, no justice, no peace rally. it seems to me that nobody wants to -- >> you know what? it was supposedly if what i read was he was checking this city building that was supposed to be vacant. and he was checking for security. so he wouldn't have that camera on anyway. but the big thing is he is wearing a camera, it's not on. you don't keep it when you are going to go get coffee. so now all of the sudden this incident occurred. he is chasing somebody, he is firing shots. the person is firing shots. by the grace of god -- >> he could have killed the cop in this instance. >> and he was wounded in the arm. look, the thing here, sean is -- >> by the way, where is al sharpton? where is eric holder? where is the president? a cop was shot. >> they're never present for the issues or the solutions. what has gone on here unfortunately in ferguson and other areas, police have been neutered. they've been neutered by the public pressure. they've been neutered by the sharptons and jacksons.

not that the police don't want to do the job. but they're being hampered. maybe that's a better word. >> be an effective police officer. >> darrin wilson has not been charged yet. >> no, nothing has been adjudicated yet. >> there is due process. look at in new york. mayor big bird, de blasio. now all of the sudden in the subways, he says in penn station it's okay to grab somebody and search them. that's not illegal. but a regular cop if he suspects someone has a gun cannot do it. so you're good in grand central. if you have a flak vest on you can search things. but de blasio says a regular cop can't do it. also, i'm for cameras. you know why? too many times you get the second half. you get the finalized thing. it ain't in the beginning when somebody is telling you or spits in your face. i want the whole thing on video. >> i agree. and i think the cops would be better served by it. >> absolutely. >> no arrest is ever going to look good, especially if somebody resist it. >> the only one on cameras right now are the people you're locking up and they film the

last half of it. they don't film the whole. >> they need to do what nypd did when they formed the -- >> route reach. >> but also the group that films everything. they get the full tape so when somebody gives you half the tape. >> i want to change gears a little bit. so you have this white house fence jumper. now we find out he got deep into the white house. >> you know, i wanted to talk about this last week. this is the biggest breach of security at the white house i've ever seen. he went into the house. we're supposed to have dogs there. you have motion detectors. >> here is part of the problem. they didn't tell the story accurately first. so why the bad reporting? he got 80 feet i guess according to the story into the building, inside the white house. there was a female officer posted who apparently had a delayed response. let's look at the issue of how well-trained and how they respond. >> it's the white house! the president lives there. >> i'm in the security business. i'm in the security business.
