join isis. and got pregnant but now they want to come home. an austrian newspaper reporting the two teenage girls telling you about have contacted their families saying they have had enough and made a huge mistake. the jihadi teenagers vanished from austria in april making claims on their social media accounts they were living in syria, married to isis militants. passengers say a flight attendant disrespected a soldier on their flight. the army ranger who was sitting in coach asked if she could hang up his decorated uniform jacket but the woman refused saying the coat closet was only for people in first class. passengers immediately took to their twitter accounts to express their outrage, one tweeting. this the airline that i have flown almost 100,000 miles on this year disgraced a heavily decorated soldier right in front of belief.

say it is challenging to find language strong enough to condemn. this davis' disgusting television ad represents historic low for someone seeking to represent texans. shows a disturbing lack of judgment from a desperate politician and completely disqualifying her from seeking higher office in texas. this clearly appears to just be last-minute hail mary down by double digits. >> reminds me a little like the jon corzine campaign against christie running some of those veiled obesity ads. as if people didn't know chris christie was fat. >> not calling him that he they would show shots of his belly. you know, showing shots of a wheelchair. this goes to show actually i think both parties right now are desperate they have no real platforms or campaigns even talking about. republicans or democrats. all they want is the other person to lose right now. that's the only thing we are seeing these ads. >> you see that in the final days of campaigns. this ad i think has gone too far even for supporters of

>> well, i would hope that they would but now we are in the phase of how long. how long it's going to take them to say all right, well, we messed up it a terrorist act. it's not work place violence. we all need to band together so we can stop this from happening again. >> that's the problem. it has happened again. from what many would say. i mean, take a look what happened in oklahoma. it's still being investigated but at the moment it's called work place violence as well. when we all saw the facebook page of this murderer, memorializing 9/11 and usama bin laden. what's the danger of it happening again from your first-hand experience? >> well, the reality is that it is very true it can happen again. and as we train the military, we say that from thing of lessons learned. what we have to look at is that how many times are we going to hide behind the phrase work place violence before reality actually sets in. and how many times are we

and going pretending she is shooting a gun. kid is suicidal? how would you know? >> not something we are going to see a a-year-old being homicidal. >> why would a school make this some sort of plan cet policy for a 5-year-old? you work in these schools. you probably have some sway over how the school district is going to police these issues. what would a guidance counselor say or psycho he therapist say to it a principal? >> you hit the word on the head blanket policy. this might be k through 8, k through 12 school. the policy they have. essentially if you have a situation where kate a kid has expressed suicidal thoughts or somebody come to you as a counselor, team up with another counselor, sit down and talk to the kid and assess the situation. if the kid is displays signs that he or she might be suicidal or homicidal at that point you explore the possibility of referring the kid for a psych evaluation. again in this case with a 5-year-old kid, i don't even

uncovered from him in his personal life, the things he said as he committed the crime. why do you think there's been this long, drawn-out process? >> you know, speculating i think it's more political than anything else. it's almost like this administration has a disease where, you know, anything related to radical islam they refuse to recognize it for what it is, i mean, whether it's isis or benghazi or the ft. hood shooting or little rock or any of those incidents. they've continually done the same thing in all those events. >> this event specifically for our audience which may have -- maybe it's gone from our memory a little bit, what did you experience that day and why would you classify it as terror? >> you know, when hassan obviously walked in the building and, you know, the first thing i hear is him stand up and yell "allah akbar" then start firing his weapon, i immediately caught a bullet in the chest and it

knocked the wind out of me and went to the ground and, you know, couldn't breathe, obviously, and hassan kept shooting me while i was on the ground. that's when he put another five bullets in me when i was laying there on the ground, which fortunately i was able to make it out of the building and to safety and to an ambulance. >> and he's not done yelling and he's not done preaching and trying to spread his message to the world. how does that sit with you, knowing he's able to get these messages out there? >> i mean, it angers me. you know, at the same time i mean, i guess it needs to be known that he is a terrorist. i mean, he did commit a terrorist attack that day. and, you know, straight from the horse's mouth so to speak. and, you know, this administration needs to stop denying the fact that it is a terrorist attack. i mean, i think it's obvious to everyone except for them, so.

and have a conversation with the lead flight attendant, and i heard her voice elevate slightly, no, we're not going to hang it up here, this is for first class only. and i heard that a time or two so i stepped up and asked what was wrong. he was a sergeant first class. typically goes by top. i asked him, i said, top, what's going on? and he said, well, she won't hang my coat up in first class. he said i've been on three other flights today and they've all accommodated me. i asked if she would just hang his coat up out of good will. and she kept saying that it was against company policy. at that time, i offered to trade seats with sergeant morrow and she was not enthusiastic about that idea and said we needed to take our seats or she was going to get the captain.

"we apologize for is situation and are reviewing the incident internally." some say that doesn't go far enough. the flight to charlotte is a very busy hub for us airways. do you think that something could have just gone wrong, maybe this flight attendant had a bad day and we shouldn't blame the airline for it or are you with these people on social media that say i'm not going to fly with them again? >> well, that thought crossed my mind, but it could be she just had a bad day, she kept reiterating that it was against company policy. and if you look at the tweets afterwards you find that it is actually not against company policy. she was inclined to go to the captain.

hardest hit nations of west africa that have the ebola virus -- guinea, liberia, and sierra leone. two passengers have been screened. screenings at dulles and chicago o'hare, atlanta, and newark international airports will begin next week. we're only talking about really screenings affecting about 150 passengers that travel from this region every day into the u.s. this is how it works. after a passport check, passengers will be taken to a special screening area where their contact information is collected. then they're given information fact sheets about ebola, what symptoms to look for and what to do if symptoms start appearing. then their temperatures are taken using a noncontact infrared thermometer. if they have a fever they're taken to a quarantine room similar to the one you're seeing here from newark airport. at that moment they're rechecked and determined if they need to be in quarantine longer. the government has the legal authority to hold citizens and

noncitizens for however long they want in a case of national security and public health, but there are people that are saying these screenings aren't effective and are more about really public reassurance. one reason, while symptoms don't start showing in ebola cases l eight to ten days in. two, people can lie on their questionnaire about their exposure to ebola. three, they can also say people can masing their fevers before they go on these flights. so people are concerned that this is something that is just really about reassurance. and the issue of false positives, 36,000 passengers were screened from west african nations into the u.s., 77 people were stopped, none had ebola. those that were stopped ended up having symptoms for malaria. >> huh? interesting ancillary benefit. still ahead, a kindergartner drew a picture of a gun. what did the teachers do? forced that child to sinl a no suicide contract. is that insane or completely insane?

understand what that is. it doesn't make sense to do that even though additionally suicide contracts there's no evidence behind them for anybody. we do them because they make us as clinicians feel better. but it doesn't impact the behavior. >> kind of hard tone force. erica, what if you were a parent and find out your child has been forced to sign a no-suicide contract? what's your next snoouf. >> i would never let my child sign something like that. they don't eve known what suicide is. 5-year-old children should not eve known that word. i don't know if when you were in school but i remember the boys in art class used to draw battlestar galactica and pretend they were shooting. i still know those boyce and they're functioning members of society. >> a hedge fund manager. boys like firearms. doesn't mean they want to behave in a violent way. i want to run a second topic by you, really more evidence that things are out of control in some public schools p sschools. a nebraska school has told teachers to avoid gender

specific language of any kind including boys and girls. instead some made-up names like purple penguins. why would school encourage kid to deny the biological reality of sex? >> this is absurd. i'm actively involved in a lot of gender activities and gender gap research at harvard and there are biological differences, we are different, and the way to foster diversity and equal the playing field is not by making everyone live under the illusion of inclusion. diversity is exactly the opposite. celebrating the differences, whether it's purple and green or red or whatever it is. so this is going to have the opposite effect on what it means to be inclusive. >> doctor, is there any scientist in the world who believes there are no gender differences? >> no. basically we acknowledge gender differences. the idea is i actually like this topic because it alerts us to the fact of what lily's saying, that we have to pay attention that there's diversity and respect it. but the way to respect it is not by eliminating talking about it.

it's by talking about it more and allowing people ask people what their preferences are and thousand howe they relate and to really address that and have respect for it, not to say we're not going to talk ak bt by covering it up with different language. >> when parents or teachers tell kids to lie or when they lie and say things like gender isn't real, we're all the same, don't kids kind of know that they're being lied to? >> well, essentially we are boys and girls. you can associate with one or the other but you're still boys and girls. i say, hey you guys to my kids all the time, and i can't be censoring myself all the time that maybe somebody's offended. it just seems kind of unrealistic. >> it's weird when you realize that crazy people are in charge of a lot of schools. i suspected that as a child but now it's been confirmed. >> i think it's a good topic. and the fact that people -- intending to have people think act their gender is important but just doing it by this superficial level of saying, you know, that we shouldn't use words is not addressing the real issue. gender is an important issue. i guess. i'm 45.
