prosecutors in virginia say the suspect in the disappearance of 18-year-old hannah graham now faces rape charges in a separate case. that's according to local news reports. prosecutors say 32-year-old jesse matthew, jr. is now indicted in a 2005 rape case out of fairfax, virginia. get you updates on that. police say the month-long search for hannah graham is now a death investigation technically after crews found human remains a few miles from the university of virginia campus. investigators say they're still waiting for forensic scientists to die the body parts. police found a skull and bones, and this was the spot. walnut creek park, and if you look here, it's not very far outside of the city of charlottesville. this is 12 miles. searchers also found a pair of black pants close by, similar the clothing that hannah graham was wearing the night she
12:05 pm
disappeared. so investigators think they're probably on it to here. but they do say that matthew was the last person to see hannah. i say matthew. the suspect. he reportedly grew up in the area where crews say they may have found her body. they found skeletal remains and just can't know yet. we're dancing all around this like they think it's a mystery. they do not. they think they've got this. now they're waiting for the technical i.d. it's also near the spot where another missing student's body turned back in 2010. cop sa forensic evident linked this person to that case, although prosecutors have not yet filed any charges. her name, morgan harrington, she was a virginia tech student who disappeared on a trip to charlottesville. diana is live, criminal defense attorney. now not one but two. sounds like they found remains. >> its sounds like it, yes. there is some information that the decay or decomposition of the body is inconsistent in the
12:06 pm
helping of time hannah graham has been missing but all signs opinion to this is likely hannah graham and there is a lot of circumstantial evidence connecting matthew with both of these crimes. and i think that prosecutors are being very careful here in how they're classifying this as a death investigation, rather than a murder investigation. they first have to determine that it is in fact hannah graham and then once they do that, they'll have to determine the cause of death and then ling jesse matthew to hannah graham. as well as if there is any other forensic evidence that links him to other young girl who was found in almost the exact same area, then they would do that as well. >> it's my understanding there's dna from that. i the skeletal remains are such they need it, there's clothes nearby. along the way, this man, matthew, has not been cooperating very much. >> definitely not. he has been evasive. they had to go and track him
12:07 pm
down. they had to originally arrest him for reckless drive and then ultimately were able to bring him back to virginia to face these charges. >> linking him to the virginia tech student, that would turn out to be two separate cases. they'd be tried separately. you think this new case, with fresher evidence, fresher testimony, fresher in the mines of the police, would be an easier one for prosecutors and they might go that way first. >> yes. it would be -- obviously make more sense for them to try the case that has new evidence than obviously where they can test dna. what might happen is the might find out something about his missouri -- his m.o. and the way he commits the murders that would help to piece together some missing evidence from the older case and that might help investigators and prosecutors wrap up that case as well jerk -- as well. >> let's hope. thank you. monica lewinski we new

12:14 pm
and the mantra continued. i just want to die. >> now, lewinski says she found her call neglect wake of the death of tyler clemente. the rutgers university student who killed himself back in 2010 after a fellow student used a web cam to stream the man kissing another man. lewinski called that an example of the compassion deficit online. >> did she say much of anything about the affair. >> it was fascinating to watch and listen. she didn't say much about the affair itself other than to acknowledge it happened, she had fairway with her boss, the president, and that it went on for two years. she talked more about the investigation and became pretty emotional when she described her investigator's pressured her to wear a wire, ing her she and her family members could face jail time if she didn't cooperate. listen here. >> chillingly told that my

this his plan, he mapped it out, sounds like a long time. >> but again-depending on the skill set, he might be there for a long time, and the greater the skills the less struggle you have in. >> if i'm a cop, i'm worried before the this guy might have slipped away and is planning his next big ambush bus an ambush with a bunch of police officers -- that could be a disaster. >> horrific. talking about about a skill set by which our folks in law enforcement and even military don't receive. these folks that receive the amount of information in x amount of time, a little budget, and through a fire host to get a lot of information in terms of tracking skills and survival skills they're very limited. they need to have teams out there that are actually native trackers, listening to the landscape and moving people back. looking at the landscape and seeing the resources available and as a survivalist, reading it through those eyes and not the eyes of the police. >> i know they're working hard. it's one of their own. >> they are.

12:46 pm
about the kurdish fighters. >> they governor fighters indeed. we spent a lot of time with. the over the summer in iraq, and they are fighting the fight, probably the best in the region, but as your introduction underscored they are very busy over in iraq, dealing with isis there on many, many fronts. we spoke with a contact, in iraqi kurdistan tonight and he told us there are no commitments about who is coming, when, and how many. which leaves us to believe that this could be at bit more spin for the turkish government which a has wanted nothing to do with this battle from the very beginning. we have been here three weeks and washing the turkish tanks and they have doning in except keep the local kurds in check. >> how are the airdrops going? >> it's very important, too in our conversations with kurdish officials inside kobani, they said they need all this, they need weapons, they need ammunition, they need medical
12:47 pm
supplies and that's exactly what came in those 27 bundles overnight from the c-130 aircraft. we're even told they were delivered antitank weaponry and that is very important to deal with these heavily armed isis fighters, which are now inside the city, inside the city, by the way, we're told, with tanks, but again, this is another example of turkey making things very difficult. this stuff could have come in, at least one border crossing that we watched, away from isis, and maybe ten, 20 trucks, and they could have got them right away. the country here, on this side of the border, making a very deadly and difficult battle on the other side of the border even more difficult. >> greg, thank you. ahead we'll speak with a former u.s. intelligence officer and get his take, and in addition i'll talk to him about the breaking news of the moment. 15 nearly simultaneous attacks, isis, against the kurdish peshmerga in the north of iraq.

ground is bad. >> i think the timing actually shows how sophies fix indicated the isis folks are. just as recentlied a last night you had turney turkey and the u.s. helping the kurds and then you see 15 simultaneous attacks carried out by isis against the iraqi kurds, trying to split their able to move around. so, you have kurds spread all across the border, and since the u.s. is unwilling to put boots on the ground, that's the major fighting force. isis knows this. >> i just got word a number of isis fighters are killed as well, and it looks like the stability of the area was not jeopardized, at least for the moment. mike, that said, we were talking about turkey a little while ago. everybody involved with this seems to have its own set of goals. every country, every group. >> that's exactly the problem here. we have a generic strategy from the u.s. perspective which is
12:53 pm
that isis needs to go away. the turks are willing to help but they're more concerned about assad, and even more than dealing with assad they're concerned about keeping turkish kurds from having a homeland and that's been going on for decades, since before i was a student there 15 years ago. you have the kurds who understandably are looking at the situation saying, if we're going to be the boots ton the ground for the international community and take on isis, at the end of this thing we want to have a little homeland for ourselves, some autonomy. and i think the u.s. right now, as evidenced by our providing them weapons and supplies, has taken a loan at that and said that kind of makes since. if you're on the ground, we'll support you today but most importantly we'll support you when this is over in the sense you'll need some territory of your own. that is going to put tremendous strain on the u.s.-turkish relationship. >> will it ever. the another utes list of stated and defined goals in our

conflicts in iraq since 2003, that list of goals would take longer than i have the rest of the hour. one of the primary goals has been to keep a united iraq, and now the optics are we have abandoned that idea. >> what we'll have to see is whether or not the kurdish state becomes a de facto separate state or a more nebulous, everybody accepts it as a zone of autonomy. i have said before i think we'll have to break up iraq. that's going to happen. we're going to have to bow to the reality over the sectarian civil war in this region. >> just got a snippet from the pentagon with a higher-up saying the strategy on isis is working with didn't knee that snippet to be able to come to that understanding, about that is not to say that the airdrops have not been helpful. just appears not to be enough. >> the airdrops themselves are good and they're necessary and useful but that is at a tactical level. the real issue is strategically. it matters what the turkish government is willing to accept,
12:55 pm
marrieds what the kurdish are withing to do. what are they willing to fight for? the same way it matters that the iraqi sunnis who we're hoping would lead the fight against the sunni isis fighters in iraq, will lead as they did under petraeus, that sunni awakening. we're trying to create a second round of that awakening. i don't know how you do that if you keep the shia government in baghdad controlling all of iraq. that's why i think we'll see it get split. >> still no defense minister. first suspect to face prosecution forked for deadly an the u.s. outpost in benghazi appeared in federal court in washington, facing more than a does charges and could get the death penalty. the suspect's lawyer is a public defender. she says she is waiting for the feds to turn over evidence on the charges against her client. much of is it reportedly classified. investigators say the attack killed four americans, including
