volcano. let's get to it. >> first from the deck, four people are dead and several other missing a after an air plane loaded with fuel crashed into a building in kansas and sparked a massive fire. right now the search for survivors is on hold after part of the building came crashing down. small plane took off from theater when something went wrong. pilot tried to circle back but getting moore details on the news deck. we know a little bit more about what kind of plane this and is what was happening? >> normally we have tools like flight attire show the exact loop. it wasn't in the air long enough to register on the software. >> just barely up. >> exactly. similar to the breechcraft that crashed -- normally can hold 13

people. we're told from local media that only the pilot was onboard at the time of the crash. now, this isn't in some airfield. this is a busy commercial airport, and he's are the runways. is was trying to circle back and it weapon into the build -- went into the building there. it was loaded with fuel nor final destination to arkansas. you can see the entire building up in toxic smoke, and there's still people somewhere in there. >> like a half schnoz. >> at least four, possibly more. it's not a good scene, and one took this picture from the highway. look at the plume of smoke. witnesses say you can see it for miles off over wichita. >> the fire marshal said the crash scene is too dangerous for emergencyfa"2crews to search foa people. garrett continueey -- garretttoá tiney is monitoring this. what are you hearing from witnesses? >> well, shep, one man who was

actually across the street when the plane crashed, he said he was there when it took off and he could tell something whereas wrong as soon as that happened. he heard its engines missing, noise, and then saw the plane quickly circle around in attempting to land, and then crashing into the top of the airport's flight safety building. more than 50 firefighters responded as flames immediately engulfed that part over the building. the fire chief called it a horrific firefight that lasted for 30 minutes before the roof began to collapse and crews had to be evacuated for their own safety. you can actually still see the flames coming out of the building but officials say that the fire is now under control. >> people are missing and they can't get in there. >> they're saying more than 100 people were working inside of the building when it was hit. thankfully most of the folks were able to get out but so far, there are four confirmed fatilities. five injured. one of them is listed in serious

condition. and there are at least four people still unaccounted for. those numbers could change, though, because the crews had to stop those search and rescue efforts when the building's roof started to collapse and it wasn't safe for them to be there. they're now working to stabilize the building, so they can get back in there and resume the search and rings -- rescue efforts. >> first, word of progress in the fight against the islamic state militants in an effort to control the syrian town of kobani.hb=ñ activist record the first kurdish fighters arrived in the convoy you see here, after local forces kept isis from seizing a border crossing. the mission here, take back parts of this town that militant does now control, and secure syria's border with turkey. kobani is right along the border, and controlling the crossing could let isis smuggle in more weapons and fighters. we're told ten iraqi kurdish forces, the peshmerga, made into

the town. setting the stage of a showdown with isis, and once again forkses on the ground are getting help from the united states in the air. pentagon reports several u.s. airstrikes took out isis targets on the ground in and around kobani. we have team fox coverage of the mission against isis. jennifer griffin is live at the pentagon. let's go to johnhutey first. >> the airstrikes, practice firepower, manpower, will del enoughly help ground fourses in kobani and they need all the help they can get. today in turkey, the convoy of iraqi peshmerga, fighters, made it way to the syrian border amid cheering crowds, bringing vehicles, weapons, heavy are drily and other mush-needed supplies. a reported ten peshmerga fighters crossed into i syria.

road. what should we expect here or is there a way to know? >> well, your question really does open up a huge can of worms. whenever you take an action there in the region that is good for the specific purposes you take it -- in other words, our attacking from the air to hit the is positions -- you have other complications, other unintended consequences, and one of the ones that is so dramatic at the moment is that the syrian government, the assad government, is using this opportunity to actually hit the free syrian army and the more moderate forces and other forces, other parts of syria. so since our attacking is has given the assad government the opportunity to strike out at another part of the opposition without much there to stop them. >> i've heard from a number of folks fighting for us who said, we aren't in the position now where we can laud our

to another person's property. >> could you then direct it out to sea? it's a couple thousand degrees. >> we're talking about 2,000 degrees fahrenheit and is headed towards the sea. if the feeding lava from the source crater continues, it's still miles from the ocean, and unfortunately pahoa is in the way and another village is on the way. >> volcanos in hawai'i, they are volcanos, have been erupting since long before recorded history. the problem is the locals don't necessarily want this lava to be touched. >> the local native hawai'ians are very concerned. this is the actions of the goddess pele, and these are natural events and others would like to see their properties protect. >> but for those native hawaiians, this would be tantamount to getting in the way of the god of the lava. right? >> i believe so. >> sacrilege. >> yes.

the nurse who said she would not stay home under a volunteer tear quarantine is sticking to her word. we have a live look outside her home in northern maine, in the middle of nowhere. a worker for the centers for disease control and prevention just stopped by for a health check. state officials want her to stay put and have ordered her, stay at home. she said there's no scientific reason for her to do so and she is right, kaci hickox and her boyfriend went for a bike ride. a state troop her and reporters followed. she said she felt it was amazing and it was not planned. >> did you talk about taking this step last night? >> i didn't. this morning, we just said we want to go for a bike ride. >> something you do often. >> we do, yes. thank you, guys. i have to go speak with the health department. >> she found herself at the center of the wholeday -- who debate after threating health

care human being workes, after returning from west africa last week, chris christie ordered crews to put her in isolation in a tent and she spent days in there now that she is back in maine it's governor is pushing for mandatory quarantine. he is up for reelection and it's tight. felt officials cannot force her to stay home unless and until a judge signs a court order, and she says she would appeal. think of what happened. a doctor goes to africa, to help stop a crisis so she can help people. she comes home, is not sick at all -- a nurse, health professional. comes home, not sick at all. at you know by now if you don't have symptoms you cannot give ebola to someone else, and even if you have symptoms they have to be in direct contact with you bodily fluids. so she is is in her nowhere place in maine and there's an election going on and people are very much for the government telling the people that they can't do something for absolutely no reason.

but they won't say what that means, and as you mentioned, there are crews outside of her home, along with state police, and a visit from the cdc worker, the state health worker for the daily post arrival monitoring. also, the governor said this morning if hickox took a blood test to prove the didn't have ebola, they'd drop the quarantine. of course you can take a blood test but it doesn't show up in a blood test until you develop symptoms and that could be sometime between now and november 10th for miss hickox. >> for historical p doctors from the united states have been going to africa for decades to treat ebola patients. nobody has ever been treated like this and no one has ever gotten ebola in the united states except in one dallas hospital. what's up in bellevue. >> they brought a five-year-old boy here who had ebola-like symptoms. they released the boy today.
