thing the president is also doing, you mentioned that event focussing today in rhode island on the economy and how it impacts women. he's trying to exploit a gender advantage he had against mitt romney in 2012, but today, republicans released an ad charging that the real war against women is some of the president's policies. listen. >> while many women are working hard to support themselves and their families, they're still facing unfair choices, outdated workplace policies. that holds them back, but it also holds all of us back. we have to do better because women deserve better and by the way, when women do well, everybody does well. >> these comments are deplorable, and that is the reason why according to to the associated press, women voters are turning to republicans. >> this is the democratic candidate for governor, challenging nicky haley, he said this -- >> and we are going to escort whore, out the door. >> now while he was in rhode island, the president took time

off from campaigning to buy a pretty decadent dessert known as a death by chocolate. probably too decadent for the first lady's choice, but not too decadent for some of my colleagues in the white house. he asked the reporters traveling with him to give josh ernest a day off for halloween. and they basically did that, and later got some of a second chocolate cake we're told that was purchased, i'm not saying there's a pro quo there, sean, but it is embarrassing that we sort of didn't ask josh any questions today about the big issues, just a few days before the midterm election. >> especially a lot of the issues that are coming up here. look at this, the race issues that have evolved in georgia, in north carolina, the comments by mary landru and charlie wraingle in new york. has josh been asked about these issues? we'll be showing the tape tonight. >> no, mary made those comments to nbc yesterday about suggesting that maybe it was

proven to be incompetent blaming it on race is ridiculous. the senator is fighting to keep her seat in louisiana. she is neck and neck with bill cassidy with just four days left until this big election. the latest suffix poll shows her at 36% and cassidy at 35%, sean. so it's going to be very interesting to see if those devices remarks are going to effect the extremely tight race. back to you. >> here with reaction tonight are the author of the brand new book, "race pimping," and joining us, kevin jackson, you heard the comments that mary landru. she also added to that, its not always been a good place for women to present ourselves, she's a three-term senator. she served there for 18 years. do you really believe a. country that voted for barack obama, do you think that that's a fair statement, the use of

that? >> well, you know, sean, i think we have to be very careful because the achievements of the few do not mitigate the pain and the struggles of the many. and so, when i look at her, i heard her comments, but i think that we've got to look at the fact that the black women have the median wealth of $5. and, white women have the median household wealth, 61% of white men. >> has that gotten better -- but wait are black americans under barack obamas policies? he's been president six years. we have millions of more americans on food stamps, million more in poverty. has he fixed the problems? >> the housing crisis occurred on president bush's watch. i don't to want fix the blame, i want to fix the problem. i want to close the pay exwety gap. i want to close that.

i want to raise the minimum wage. >> let's talk about that. >> no, that is a very real issue. >> that's a very different issue. >> that's not what we're discussing, we're discussing the use -- >> okay. >> we're discussing the device of use of racial politics, race baiting, by politicians in georgia, in north carolina, now by a senator by the name of mary landru, kevin, do you think that this is a desperate party that now is resorting, not to their record, but to racial politics because they can't get elected any other way? >> absolutely, sean. the democrats are running around like sprayed roaches. and it's so fun to watch because barack obama made a comment just recently that the economy is really doing well. you know what the problem with that, he doesn't even recognize, is barack obama is slapping all the black people in the face that he has not been able to get jobs for, all the communities that don't have businesses, that have a lack of opportunity that are creating all the problems

that we're experiencing with some of these kids in ferguson and other places, he's creating this. you can't have your cake and eat it too, democrats, this is solidly on his shoulders. and it's fun to watch. elbert talked about mary landru, you were making a big point. she's been a senator for 18 years and hasn't done a thing to solve the problems that she's talks about, she hasn't done anything for the black community, and now she wants to pull the race card and say hey, where i'm from doesn't like black people. there are black people don't there and they don't like democrats or barack obama. >> respectfully -- >> shh. >> this is not fun top watch, sean. this is not a game of bipartisan betrayal, sean. sean, this has happened -- >> no. >> santita, he has an ad out that says black people are being used by people like michelle nun

problem is not just the ideas and the ambitions, it's the fact that they are just incompetent. remember in 1988, michael ducacas said this isn't about ideology, it's about competence, well that's because if you're a liberal, you don't want it to be about ideology, you won't use the word. now we've seen six years of governess, and now we see this string of incompetence, everything from obamacare, vr scandal, to the secret service keystone cops routine where they leave the front door to the white house open, awe now its kris alized in -- crystallized in ebola with the overpromising, the running wrnd ab the contradiction, now we get the ebola czar. has anybody seen the guy? i've been saying that he's now in self-quarantine. everything that they have had -- >> he's the only one. >> and, i mean, it's not just that they are the party in government, these guys

ideologically are the party of government. it's not just that their values are wrong, their ambitions for government are wrong. they can't run the thing. and that's why there's this huge resentment against democratic party, and that's why they've got to start calling people names. >> okay. but, the reason i would argue that they always try and scare old people and they play the race card because i think historically, strong case could be made, charles, that these tactics, as despicable as they are, work. and that's problematic. how should the republicans fwhb your view respond or not respond in some cases? >> i think that when you're accused of being a racist, you don't even dignify the accusation with a response because then you're conceding the premise. i have to prove i'm not a racist. i oppose the president because of his policies, i have since the beginning of his administration. if someone wants to imply on account of his race, i will not

give them the dignity of a response. that's not america. and i don't, it might work on the fringes, i believe when you scare old people on policy, and you say they want to remove your social security and your medicare, well, that's one kind of argument, i don't think it's actually true, but that's not quite anned a homonym, that's stretching the truth. but when you accuse someone of rate chl or sexism, when you do a mary landru that she did yesterday, i think that's beneath contempt, you cannot speak about the issues, well, let me explain to the people why the issues at stake here are the ones in which you are on the wrong side, and it has nothing to do with race and nothing to do with gender. >> all right. charles krauthammer, appreciate your insightful commentary. what are you predicting in terms of senate seats? what do you think the outcome will be, if not by november 5th, maybe by december or january,

divisions we remember when he was president, he got some pretty, pretty hard shots thrown at him, he's always been somebody who sees common principles and doesn't go forred a homonam what charles was talking about. that's what identity politics is not with him. i agree with him completely, i think both parties do it. i think we're all paying a penalty and the american people are disgusted with both parties in the polarization that we see here in washington. >> let me ask you, all right, so, we got mary landrieu this year, we got it happening on behalf of kay hagan in north carolina, michelle nun in georgia, those are three examples where the party's using the race card this year and i can play all the tapes and show you all the fliers. this season we've seen republicans doing it. >> i really haven't followed the republicans very much. i must say that i get more bothered when it comes from

are minorities and women in terms of pay and the number of people that are now in poverty or on food stamps because his policies have failed. the promises that he made he was never able to keep, but yet democrats keep advancing false narratives about republicans, hating grandma, not liking women, being racist, wanting dirty water and dirty air, and i'm tired of it because i know those that i think things are lies, but in the past they've worked. >> so, let me say why i agree, but i still think that it's right to disagree on policies having an adverse and harmful effect on poor people. people of color, people of certain status in this country. we can argue that the republicans opposing funding programs that help the poor, and opposing federal regulation has an adverse effect on people who are poor. republicans would say i'm wrong. so we need to debate that, but i don't attribute evil or bad

comments she made to chuck todd. i don't think it's particularly smart, i think she's basically calling people racist, what are your thoughts? >> democrats, republicans, independents, if you're south of the mason dixon line, you don't want to hear a senator insulting you or the people you represent. that may have been a good strategy in the 1960s, 1970s, but it's quite dumb today. and most of the polls that i've seen in louisiana show that the, that she is not only behind her opponents in a head to head, but he's approaching the magic 50% mark. i think she made a big mistake here. >> i look at these, larry, you, stew, the new york times, the washington post in a big way, nate, also same thing, you think this is going to be republican year, how big do you see it? >> currently, i have. pretty much the way you've discussed it, sean, 52, 53, republican seats.

i think republicans have an excellent shot, obviously to take back the senate. and by the way, we don't include in the calculations the two runoffs. there will definitely be a runoff in louisiana in my view, and mary landrieu is going to have a tough time winning another term. that's in early december. then you have the very real possibility, not definite, but the very real possibility of a run off in georgia, and again run off -- >> that's january. >> tend to favor the almost candidate. so those are, those are two seats that the republicans kind of have in reserve if they need them after tuesday. >> what do you think, frank, what's been the best campaign that you've been witnessing and the worst campaign? >> i think the worst campaign, the two worst campaigns of the republican candidates in michigan and in minnesota. that in both cases they try humor to and elector rat who is upset. there's almost no funny ad that

have worked in 2014. the best campaign, scott, i'm going to tell you something, scott brown in new hampshire. i know that virtually every poll has shown him behind by two or three points, everything i'm seeing and the voters i've talked to, he's been gaining and gaining over the last two weeks. because of an amazing ad campaign. >> going to be very interesting. >> that one's very close, and the other one is cory gardner in colorado, he's had the best, positive campaign of any senate candidate because he looks people in the straight in the eye, he looks a at camera like i am to you and explains what he's for and why he should be the next senator, very powerful. >> good advice from both of you, guys, four days away, it's like super bowl day, i can't wait. i'm going to fire up the barbecue, have some beer ready, it'll be a fun night. good to see you both. the wife of candidate has now spoken out, taking on her husband's opponent in this case, governor andrew cuomo, that candidate will join us next

$30 million in pure, harsh, negative ads, even the new york times said they've been false. scaring seniors, guns in school, just nonsense stuff, the race card, al sharpton has thrown out, charlie rangle, new york city calling me bull connor. this is the gutter tactics they play because cuomo i thinks it slipping through his fingers, just like in '94 when his dad lost. things are changing quickly. cuomo is under federal investigation for corruption by the u.s. attorney. the state is dead last in america in all the important categories, the growth rate in new york last year was 0.7%. people areg, jobs are leaving. it's the highest tax in america, so cuomo is running from all of that, and he was so scared, he wouldn't debate me. halloween is today, right? well guess was, he was seen in two costumes today, cowardly lion and my noek owe because

he's lied about my record. you know, i live in new york, he made extent comments about conservatives not being a part of new york, which i took very personally. the question is, new york is just a liberal state. i know that you've been able to get elected in a fairly democratic county in westchester, but it seems that new york likes the path that its on and that is that it's one of the highest taxed states, most bureaucratic states, and that is the result of liberalism, isn't that why so many people are leaving? >> yeah, but just came out with a study the other day, 70% of long islanders, 60% of the new yorkers, age 50 and above are likely to leave our state. middle class is just being destroyed in new york. and now cuomo is hitched on his wagon to bill de blasio, he's babblely made promises to go around the state with the da bellagio agenda and spend. it'll make it even worse.

new york has a choice here just like in westchester and everyone said i couldn't win. home of the clintons, home of cuomo, hollywood elites, and they put me in because i said we're going to grow the economy been cut taxes, and that's what we did, that's what we're promising. the wall street journal by the way said that my plan was bold, it would make us the most competitive state in the northeast by really and sharply reducing taxes, getting the economy going again, and that's what new york needs. and we're closing this race quickly. upstate, new york, is half the vote, sean. new york city's expected to be a lower turnout. he has a lot of problems on the left where democrats are not endorsing him or voting for him. it's the suburbs that are going to making the big difference. we can win this race, it's going to be a huge win on tuesday, a big statement, gun own verse to come out to vote -- owners have to come out to vote. off lot of big issues where
