attend the funerals of two california police officers shot by a criminally illegal alien? we will tell you. >> the factor begins right now. >> hi. reporting tonight from washington. thanks for watching us. what did republicans have to do to accomplish authority? that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. democrats do not expect the gop to improve things in america. if those things are not met, hillary clinton has a very good chance of being elected president. did you know that about 70% of all american workers earn less than $50,000 a year?

did you know that? i didn't know that. that means the folks are struggling. they are living in a very insecure way. they have little savings and if they get sick it's a disaster. educating their children? a huge financial burden. as is saving for retirement. so priority number one is to stimulate the economy so that workers make more money. president obama is clueless when it comes to that. those of the democratic party have constrained private industry. no wage improvement. take home pay has gone down on president obama's watch. that's what the election was all about. so in order to stimulate the economy, republicans need to lower corporate income tax to about 20% or so. that will give more money to expand, thus creating more jobs. when there are more jobs there is more competition for workers and salaries go up. number two, there should be a

six month tax amnesty on corporate money being held overseas. let the companies bring it back provided they invest it in america not keeping itting over there. third, raise the minimum wage. that will encourage other folks to get off the dole. ten bucks an hour not going to break anyone. and with the corporate income tax cut, the minimum wage rise will not affect profits. also the republican party will be seen as helping people who don't have much money. that's an image changer. the capital gains tax should be cut to 50%. that encourages private investments and more money flows into the marketplace. if republicans do those things, employment will rise and so will wages. if president obama vetoes those things he will go down in history as the villain.

the economy is the overriding challenge for the gop. it would be a bad idea to try to repeal obama care. he will veto the attempt so it's a complete waste of time. if a republican gets elected, then you repeal it. remember there are good things about obama care. insurance companies can't throw you off the policy if you get sick so the gop should be patient on the obama care stock. how about immigration? all the polls say they want a fair reform bill so republicans should introduce one. first the border has to be secured with an american military presence down there and a high-tech fence that folks can't jump over. also policies have to be enforced. if you don't have a passport you can't come in.

should cut off all funding and make it impossible for the executive order to be carried out. finally on social issues like gay marriage and legalized pot? let the states decide it. the feds should be in charge of defending us from harm and isis and trofts and making sure the economy gives everyone a fair shot at prosperity. if the gop nominates an honest person to run for president, it will win. if republicans continue to fight each other, don't compromise, the party will lose, and president hillary clinton will waltz into the oval office. joining us from new york, james karvel. you're going to owe me a big expensive dinner because marry landrieu will lose. they're not voting for her.

she's done. how distraught are you over what happened on tuesday? >> pretty bad. it was real tough one. it was a mega defeat. can't be spun any other way. >> are you going to move out? and mary, your wife? are you guys going to new zealand. >> no. we're going to go to work on 2016. we had a good election in 2012, bad one in 2014. i think democrats have a good one in 2016. >> do you want to reimpose the income redistribution that americans have so soundly rejected. >> let the republicans get rid of the progressive income tax. i think it is a good idea. one of the things we should do is help these people. cut the payroll tax. that would put money right in their pocket.

tax rate as somebody making $60,000 a year. put that in your program, the things that republicans should do. >> i think i would support that down the road but i want immediate relief for the economy and the things that i laid out would be immediate relief. >> but you don't -- the problem with the economy is not the corporate tax structure. it's the corporation. the problem is a lack of demand. it's a lack of demand for oil and money and products if you don't stimulate demand you're not going to improve the economy. >> you don't stimulate demand when 70% of the countries earning less than $50,000 a year. >> engaging p in a different program. >> you have to give business incentive to expand. expansion means more jobs. read my lips. expansion means more jobs. more jobs mean higher wages. higher wages means more spending

in this case sacramento, two dead police officers, families devastated. you bet the governor should go. he should do more than that. attending a funeral -- >> but i'm glad he did it. i don't think jerry brown's a bad person. i think he's misguided. when you have a federal law that says you are deported and come back, it's a felony punishable by two years in federal prison. then you have the governor of not only california but new york, pennsylvania, whatever, saying, you know what, we're not even going to tell i.c.e. if we catch them. >> unless it's a violent criminal. >> deported and come back, we're not even going to tell the federal government. and don't want to prosecute these cases anyway. so you have a complete breakdown as you pointed out leads to tragedy for people all over the country. >> u.s. citizens and legal immigrants. latinos have been completely brutalized by this failure to enforce the law. >> it's horrible, irresponsible and that leads us to president obama who basically wants to be humane. that's what he wants to be, humane. >> i'm not sure that's what he wants to be. humane to whom?

to the people who are already here. >> his obligation is to the american citizenry, not to the world, us. our workers and our people. >> that's true. that's true. and now he wants to surge the border, but why didn't he do that six years ago? >> i don't believe he wants to surge the border. barack obama wants the replacement electorate bill. the american people are on to the liberal agenda. this was a repudiation of him and his policies. he said so, my policies are on the ballot, i'm not. he's right. i didn't hear any republican campaigning for amnesty. in fact, they all campaigned against amnesty. even cory gardner, who is kind of middle of the road on the immigration issue. karl rove, establish republican, friend, he was out there funding ads also against amnesty. so the republicans were strong against amnesty. and in texas, bill, greg abbott and dan patrick, the new governor and new lieutenant governor, tough as nails on enforcement. they were down at the border. incredible. they got 44% of the latino vote in the state of texas being tough on immigration.

>> now, if i were the head of the republican party and i came to you and said, listen, we're going to present a bill to president obama that says we have to secure the border first with the military presence. that means a constant military presence. a fence that you can't jump over. we're going to build it from brownsville to san diego. and then after that we secure the border we're going to allow some people here legally to get on to have working papers and to earn citizenship over a number of years. would you, laura ingraham, say okay, i'll compromise. >> no, i would not say that at all. i think the mainstream position on this, bill, is enforcement. the mainstream position on this is show me that you're really going to do it. the people are furious. >> that's in writing that you're going to stop it. >> that was in 1986. >> you don't believe no matter what's in there -- >> no. if it's concurrent, absolutely not.
