him. officers are looking at surveillance video from the 7-11. is this how you felt this morning? cleo. the puppy is cleo. even though his owner tries repeatedly to wake him up, even tickling him, he keeps on sleeping. the video going viral this morning. >> he's on the kitchen table, no less. >> thank you so much. >> a dog's life. >> from one dog to another, we started telling you about a dog that was rescued after hurricane katrina who is now helping his arch enemies, a bunch of cats. kittens. so we have some audio issues earlier, but we have fixed them. we want to bring you this story. joining us again is greta nelson with the arizona humane society and boots, the dog. thank you for joining us.
5:39 am
i understand boots was causing some mischief this morning after he knocked your ear piece out. we'll forgive boots. tell us his story. >> yeah. boots is a hurricane katrina survivor. the arizona humane society eamts were on the ground in louisiana. this poor guy just two years old h severe burns to his paws. hence the name boots. he ended up coming back to arizona with about 300 other animals from that hurricane and nobody claimed this sweet guy. while he's been claimed since, so -- he's been claimed in more ways than one. he is now a nanny in our kitten nursery at the arizona humane society. >> he is a dog nanny. >> a kitten nanny. so the dog is in charge of the kittens? >> absolutely, yeah. our kit -- >> but they're enemies! >> no. not these guys. our kittens have three to five

week old kittens. that's right in the time study say that if their experiences are positive, they'll go on to have positive experiences throughout their life. that's what we're doing with boots. he's kind of a kitten whisperer. >> it looks like he just let's them play with him. he doesn't care. whatever. chill dog. his owners never came to find him after the hurricane? >> yeah. no one ever came to reunite him. but he was fallen in love with immediately. so he's been in an amazing home for the last decade. he's pawing it forward for sure for other homeless animals. he knows what it's like to be homeless. he's a great dog, just a gentleman. he teaches our kittens so much. >> you're a great person for rescuing him and for loving him the way you do. thank you for joining us, both of you. >> thank you.

jobs created. slight less than the estimates of 231,000. the month, the unemployment rate drops to 5.8% from 5.9%. so pretty good here. we've had our great recession. we've had the slowest recovery since our great recession. but at least we're going in the right direction. what's interesting and a theme that i continue to hear is about what americans are feeling. you have the americans who are unemployed for 27 weeks or longer. then you have the americans who are either taking part-time jobs because they can't find full-time jobs, and even those who have full-time jobs yet aren't even able to survive. with that, that may be one of the reasons you heard what you heard in the midterm elections, hoping for some change ultimately. couple of pieces of good news. we've had some great corporate earnings and that has helped in addition to the election on tuesday to move the markets to record highs. oil has been low and gasoline, below $3 a gallon for the first time in four years. and that is a big deal because
5:46 am
that, too, at least puts extra cash in americans' pockets. that is the overall environment. but if you have the 401(k) and iras, we've seen the dow and the s & p this week at record all-time highs. >> great news. thank you so much. don't miss nicole on the "fox business" network. to find it go to foxbusiness.com/channelfinder. there she is. happy friday. enjoy your weekend. >> buy. coming up, he's the man behind these hillary loser tweets. senator rand paul. he's live next. but first let's check in to what's coming up at the top of the hour. >> good morning to all three of you. there is so much intrigue at the white house today. where are we heading, america? that's not understated. juan williams, mary katherineham, steve haze will define it for us today. cory gardner with a commanding win in colorado senate race. what did this election teach

him? we'll ask him about that live. why did the president write a letter to iran's leader? what to expect out of that. what do we get from that? k.t. mcfarlapped will analyze. see you in a few minutes as we wrap up a big and long week here on "america's newsroom." see you at the top of the hour. while every business is unique,

a repudiation basically of the president's policies, but also hillary clinton. hillary clinton and bill clinton have been all over the place. they're trying to make it out as if they're somehow better for democrats. in kentucky they were soundly rejected. >> kentucky senator rand paul on election night firmly placing the blame on hillary clinton for a number of democrats stinging
5:51 am
midterm losses. to further prove that point, senator paul posted facebook pictures of hillary with a number of losers. the democrats she wound up campaigning for. and senator rand paul joins us right now live from our nation's capitol. good morning to you, senator. >> good morning. >> okay. so they all lost. she was in all those races injecting herself into it. what are you trying to say? >> you know, they actually ran as clinton democrats. they tried to separate themselves from the president and there is this whole mantra that developed during the campaign where the president is unpopular, but hillary is popular. my point is they all ran to separate themselves from the president, they wanted to be associated as clinton democrats, and they all were soundly rejected. so there is a message here about hillary clinton as much as there is a message about the president. >> sure. i can't tell you how many times i heard during this campaign cycle where the president is really unpopular.
5:52 am
so know what? let's get our secret weapon, let's get a clinton to come talk to us. >> they've been saying that in kentucky for 20 years, ever since clinton won kentucky. but the only reason bill clinton won in kentucky was because ross perot was in the race. no clinton has ever carried a majority of kentucky. i think they're fooling themselves in the south and also the 1990s was a long time ago. it was another era. there weren't many conservative democrats left. the party has become so liberal that it's left most conservative democrats in the south. so i don't know. i don't think there is such a clinton caceh as there once was. >> but you know what? when you came out with that list on election night, there were a number of people who said that makes it official, rand paul is taking a shot at hillary clinton, he's running for president. >> well, she is seen as the leader in her party and the potential leader in their nominating process. i think it's a mistake to let someone -- i'm not talking about
5:53 am
whether i'm running, but to let someone run unopposed. in the past we haven't gone after the opposing party's nominee to say who they are and what they represent. i think she is going to try to say oh, i'm different than president obama. he's very unpopular. but i have different policies. she was part of his administration and i really don't know of many, if any, policies they disagree on. >> sure. i tell you what, on election day, we had our exit pollsters out there and they had a clipboard and asked all sorts of people all sorts of questions. one of them was -- had is a question they asked just the republicans -- would rand paul make a good president? look at that. you get 78%. i believe on that particular poll you were number two behind only rick perry of the great state of texas. with a good number like that, in your head, what are you thinking? maybe this would work out? >> i am thinking maybe. we're going to keep looking at it for the next six months or
5:54 am
so. and as i go around the country and i'll continue to travel, i want to make the party bigger. i think we have to have a more diverse party. we need more african-americans, more hispanics, more youth, more young women. we have to be a bigger, broader party because there is still some states we can't do so well in. we did a lot better on election night. but we still struggled in michigan and struggling in pennsylvania, struggling in california, new york. we have to change the demographic of who we attract and i think you only do that by bringing fresh, new ideas. >> i think one of the messages of the mid terms, senator, is the fact that you look at some of these people, republicans who won, they had a real positive tone to their campaigns. they were looking rather than the party of no, it's the party of you know what? we're going to go and try to make this happen. >> yeah. some of the biggest victories weren't in the u.s. senate. some of the biggest victories were governors races. bruce rauner in illinois, that's a huge victory for republicans. governor of massachusetts, as well as maryland. those are huge victories and
5:55 am
unexpected. so i think something is going on. i know with bruce rauner's election, he talked a lot about school choice and trying to bring a better education to people who live in the big cities. i think if you can show that concern and show that we have new ideas, i think all of a sudden, a whole raft of new people are going to be interested in what we have to talk about. >> so is that going to be your message going forward, looking to the future of something that is positive rather than downer? >> yes. school choice is one big positive issue. another one for cities is i've been to detroit several times and talked about economic opportunity. i would dramatically lower the taxes in detroit a billion dollars and that would be the stimulus for detroit. i don't think democrats really have anything to counteract that with or really have shown much concern for those who live in detroit. >> all right. the guy behind hillary's losers hash tag, senator rand paul, thank you for joining us. >> thanks. one for the road comes up next. stick around.

one for the road. >> before we go, get excited. starbucks is bringing back its eggnog latte. after getting bombard with letter, e-mails and social media post, officials changed their minds. the drink returns by november 17, as does gingerbread latte. >> some men believe in doing some things wrong the very first time they try it. in new study is claiming three in ten men regularly mess up household chores so that they aren't asked to do them again. like cleaning the shower, doing laundry. those are among some of the top chores that men are likely to botch on purpose. >> this weekend, clayton, you
6:00 am
will not be doing the laundry. >> no, no. i have screwed that up, so i don't have to do it again. we got governor mike huckabee on saturday. high-tech tailgating of the we'll show you even lazier ways to have fun this weekend. >> have a great weekend. see you monday. friday. compromise and cut a deal and stick your heels in the dirt and hang on. what will it be? the president has lunch with leading lawmakers from both parties as the democrats suffered humiliating losses in the midterms. how will this go? i'm bill hemmer. >> busy, busy week for us. i'm heather childers in for martha maccallum. house speaker john boehner sharing his vision for the country yesterday. talking about jobs at the top of his list. >> finding common ground will be hard work but if will be even harder if the president isn't willing to work with us. yesterday we heard him say he may double down on his go it alone approach. listen, i told the
