a photo of her husband of 24 years sergeant steve heart deployed overseas. >> carol sent this picture of her dad and brothers. #armystrong. it's not just democrats losing at the polls. big labor also losing big time. as candidates taking on public unions, when? and candidates running to cut big government and the mounting debt, when? will all of this mean taxpayers are the real victors? i'm brenda buttner. here is gary smith, tracy burns, jonas, john along with chuck. welcome to everybody. okay, john, tuesday's elect results, not about red or blue, but taxpayers green. >> it is. people don't like what they have. they won't change. we have a bunch of unqualified
7:01 am
guys out of congress. they happen to be republicans. i'm not sure if there's a reason for a big party here, but voters are going against the system. they don't like big government. they don't like unions not offering choices in school. hillary clinton, she lost in nearly every race she helped president obama. his own party was running from him. the old guard is in trouble. people won't change. i'm not sure we got it, but it's what we voted for. >> they were voting for candidates who were antibig spending and anti-union. what kind of message does that sent to us? >> two messages, brenda. people care about their money, whether it's their own or money that gets confiscated by washington and they also care about the inefficiencies of unions. it's funny, in the history of the united states, the government always comes down heavily against unions saying
7:02 am
they are not efficient or gouging up a price. companies like at&t and ibm, when i was there, they were coming at us. microsoft here and in foreign countries. when you have the teacher's union government which is heavily unionizes, the government stands back and says that's okay. you get the same thing. you get higher prices, you get inefficiency and i think that's what the voters are looking for. hey, how can we spend our money better? it's certainly not a teacher's union where we are getting higher prices, if you will, and less output. >> the unions spent millions of dollars to defeat candidates such as scott walker of wisconsin. they didn't win. what does that mean? >> all right, all right, all right. i told you before i came on, we weren't going to talk about the elections if i came on here. >> we lied, chuck.
7:03 am
>> people are frustrated. i would remind folks two years ago, i was here, we talked about is wall street dead? big chamber is back. what john said is right, they are fed up. they are throwing people out trying another one. we went from black cat to white cat, now black and white cats. the problem is, we're electing cats. >> what do you say to that? >> that's the problem. there's something telling about the unions. the national education system $40 million, it was most telling at the gubernatorial level, too. republican governors won. i think this is saying something about the collective bargaining process. i think people are sick and tired of seniority as opposed to merit. we will see it more and more. unions are losing their membership. we saw it in this election. >> jonas, what do you think it means to taxpayers?
7:04 am
>> first of all, i think chuck copies that all right, all right, all right from somebody else. i don't see the huge impact with teacher's unions. consumers benefit when you take a hit. i don't see how it leads to higher tax rates. it's consumer price thing, a corporate price thing, shareholders benefit. as far as most taxpayers, it's not where the win was. 98% of people are paying a low rate. there's 2% that really are paying more than they were a few years ago. everybody else never got a break. >> it lowers the pension benefits, which is a huge part of state budgets. doesn't that lower our taxes? >> it sure does. the unions, like chuck was talking, people want change. what we are doing is not working. doing the same thing over and over expecting results is the
7:05 am
definition of insanity. we go down the oecd country list. we don't have a voucher program. we don't have a choice in education. people are unhappy about that. by the way, it's not the union's fault. politicians who know we can't pay the unions. a guy who goes to work every day with a lunch pail and his pension gets cut, it's not his fault. it's the politician that should have never promised it. >> we talk about big spending and anti-big spending. the administration is asking for $3.7 billion to fight isis. shouldn't that be where the money is spent to protect us from the bad guys? >> a couple points, one, let's give a shout out to chuck on the best denzel washington imitation ever. should we -- yes, listen, i think terrorism, we are going to talk later on the show about
7:06 am
different kinds of terrorism. itis where our money should be going. that said, anytime we have a mom and apple pie area like defense automatically they say we should spend as much money as possible. we have to be prudent there as well as government pension and education. >> chuck? denzel? >> at the end of the day, people made a choice. things are flipping back and forth. if both parties stand-up and say what they believe in, let them make a choice. let them vote that way. we can't be running back and forth all the time. the american people want their money protected. >> that's what we are doing, chuck. i think this is the republicans game to lose right now. they have the opportunity to make a difference. say that we did something at the end of two years. show something for yourself. if not, we are going back to the other side again chasing cats,
7:07 am
like you said. >> it's matthew mcconaughey, okay. >> no, it's denzel! >> it is. it is. >> jonas, what do you think about this? >> i think you are right about local taxes, teachers. that's more of a property tax thing. consumers, consumer prices, that's all going to be locked in if we don't raise the wages of everybody. that's where the winners are. >> gary, last word? >> well, look, i think chuck hit the nail on the head. if the candidates came out and said exactly what they stood for and were going to do, then i think we have a fair election. i think we edge closer this way. a lot of candidates that ran on obamacare got thrown out. >> thanks, guys. the republican takeover in the senate. fueling new calls for an obamacare takedown. the president will never sign it, but some here say there is
7:08 am
one thing both sides can agree on that will have jobs picking up. woman: everyone in the nicu -- all the nurses wanted to watch him when he was there 118 days. everything that you thought was important to you changes in light of having a child that needs you every moment. i wouldn't trade him for the world. who matters most to you says the most about you. at massmutual we're owned by our policyowners, and they matter most to us. if you're caring for a child with special needs, our innovative special care program

i have $40,ney do you have in your pocket right now? $21. could something that small make an impact on something as big as your retirement? i don't think so. well if you start putting that towards your retirement every week and let it grow over time, for twenty to thirty years, that retirement challenge might not seem so big after all. ♪

a fox news alert. president obama getting set to announce his nomination for the next attorney general. in an hour, he will name loretta lynch as the head of the justice department. she will replace eric holder. if confirmed, she would become the first african-american woman to hold the post. she's in her second stint as u.s. prosecutor for eastern new york. we will bring it live. the u.s. military role in iraq is expanding. president obama is in a non-combat role. their mission is to train, advise and assist iraqi and kurdish forces. islamic state controls a large

portion. i'm kelly wright. back to bulls and bears. for all your headlines, log on to foxnews.com. republicans in, obamacare out. not quite. now that republicans have the majority in congress, they are vowing to dismantle it one piece at a time. gary you say there's one place they have to start? >> well, exactly. they could start with the employer mandate, brenda. look, i think there's parts with obamacare that are actually okay. i think it's fine to have a backstop for people that have existing illnesses, for people that can't afford health care. the problem is, it's another big government monopoly. i was playing $360 a month to $520 a month. that's almost an extra $2,000 a year. it's affecting families across the board. i didn't need all the other
7:13 am
stuff they had. if they offered a plan that didn't have all the bells and whistles that most people don't need, it would be great. if i could save money, it's like not having to pay more for gasoline, you can spend more elsewhere and put it back into the economy. >> that's how we save jobs. the hiring will go up? john? >> i think it will go up some. i think it's incremental. the mistake republicans can make is doing something in 2014. president obama sunk his presidential career because of obamacare. he created so much ill will nothing else has gotten done. the republicans are about to do something that could be just as dumb. if they go after obamacare first, they are going to sink their careers like president obama did. >> let's talk specifically about jobs. tracy, what can they go to to take out from the bill that would help us?
7:14 am
>> the medical device tax. it is unnecessary. 2.3% on pacemakers. come on. raise the price of stuff. bottom line people lose jobs. get rid of it. it's unnecessary. the stocks have been killed by the tax once it was announced. get rid of it. there's bipartisan support for that. 32 republicans and democrats are willing to get rid of that. >> chuck, weigh in here. >> i'm not never going to be as smart as a lot of folks on this program about the stock market, money and finance. the figures i give you, i'm reading from a piece of paper. when obama got in office, the stock market was at 8,000, then 10,000 now, 18,000. things have gotten better to get there. unemployment was 10%, w 5.7%. it didn't get worse. cats and dogs may be living

together. >> fred flintstone the credit for the cartoon. >> it looks like it's better on paper. nobody is out, right? somebody correct me if i'm wrong. i want more jobs, too. >> small businesses aren't hiring because of this stuff. >> also, this jobs report, jonas, wasn't terrific. we saw more part time jobs created in october than september. >> i don't know how much lower unemployment is going to go than 5.7% just by getting rid of the plan. they might get rid of it because on friday hospital stocks tanked in the middle of the day because maybe the supreme court is going to say stays without exchanges don't get reimbursement. it's a big deal. what hurt the job market with obamacare is what could have been done in all the years we wasted on obamacare during a bad recession.
7:16 am
we should have had an fdr-type program. instead, we are playing around with health insurance. it was opportunity costs. >> gary, i don't think you would agree a big fdr spending program would be the way to go, but, if we take some part of obamacare out now, if republicans do, do you suspect our labor market will improve? >> absolutely, brenda. it's the same argument. people say oh, my gosh, it's so great that gasoline dropped from $4 a gallon to under $3 a gallon. now our cost to transport things are lower. supermarkets have lower costs. people have lower costs. isn't that great for the job market that we can spend the money on more productive things? when it comes to obamacare, all of a sudden the argument gets ignored. i don't understand how tackling, dismantling obamacare as much as
7:17 am
you can and letting the free market operate has to be much, much better for the people, the economy and jobs. >> that's not going to happen while president obama is still sitting in the oval office. we have no choice but to chip away. to your point, the small business hiring has halted. there's a reason part-time employees are on the rise. there's a reason. consultants are on the rise. no small business wants to hit that threshold, 50 full time employees because health care costs go through the roof. down the road, can they appeal it? absolutely. he's never going to throw his signature policy out. >> politically, i think they are going to do something. i think there are pieces they want to go after. after tuesday's election, after they whooped our back ends up and down the road, they have to do something to the base. they have to give them red meat. sure obama is never going to sign it.
7:18 am
they have to do it for political reasons. >> if they do, they will be thrown out in 2016. they have to get the economy going. >> why does u.p.s. go on a hiring binge because of gas prices? at the end of the day, it's a cost that goes on to consumers. it doesn't make you hire more. you lower your price to ship overnight. >> it's different than part time people at a restaurant. >> it's going to show up in prices more than huge employment. >> that's got to be the last word, guys. you can see it on their faces. this post election meeting got nasty when it came to amnesty. what the president's plan for illegals means for legals here. neil's gang is on it. next, rolling in the ewe rain. shouldn't with all be focusing on what they are doing here that could mean lights out across the u.s. literally.

imagine america going from this to this. russia may already be working on it. hackers there reportedly planting cyber bombs here that could literally take down the u.s. power grid. tracy, you say it could mean lights out for our economy. >> our grid is weak to begin with. take out the grid, you take out the whole economy. you are talking government agencies going doun, the banking system. ask jpmorgan how it goes down.
7:23 am
they could wipe out the banking system. they are preparing for it. they are here, looking around, trying to see what they should do and where they should be in the event of an attack. they are prepared, we should be too. >> chuck, what do you think? >> we can put a cell phone in a watch, you can upgrade the power grid. quit studying monkey's and wheat grass and invest in the power grid, putting people back to work and making us more modern to help business grow. >> it's like the hackers have a finger on a button and they could push it anytime. >> look at what happened. melted an entire nuclear facility putting a computer virus in here. that's what can be done. the lone wolf is scary and almost impossible to stop. how a hacker can get into our

grid is something that the government is significantly worried about. look at the software. 2.0 selling drugs and arms openly on the web. very little can be done because of the encryption. this is the biggest threat. >> do you agree? >> to address the nuclear bomb, they are so antiquated you can only load it on a floppy disk. they are safe because they are 30 years old. as far as the other risks, yeah, there's hacking risks. some of them like showing off. it's not a huge crisis, necessarily. a lot of it is financial. that gos on in private industry. is it a risk? yeah. i don't see the russian government rushing in and hacking to destroy america. >> i have to get gary in. what do you think of that? >> not to put too fine a point on it, chuck is correct. other than a nuclear attack, this would be the worst kind of
