go red for women campaign. if you see it i hope you'll let us know. always look for the grown in idaho seal. watching, mike huckabee starts right now. >> republicans have control of the senate. and so what issues should they tackle first. >> repeal obama care and immigration reform or key stone pe #. the electoral map looks like a sea of red, especially in the south. a high school senior stands up for her rights under god and ric ric ricky scaggs and sharon wright. all that and more on "huckabee." and welcome to "huckabee"

from new york city. this week's elections were supposed to be a nail biter, but instead, they were a blowout for the republicans. everyone seems to easily see that the election was just what president obama said it was, a referendum on his policies. well, everyone saw that except president obama, who in a press conference on wednesday sounded more like president oblivious. perhaps he reverted to his days in the chum gang and took off to colorado for some high octane weed and was just plain stoned when he blamed the blowout on the fact that twair2/3 the vote didn't show up. some of those who voted, and some of those who voted for you, notably young people and minorities and women voted all right, but they voted with their brains and they rejected the
5:02 pm
failed economic programs, weak economic policy, and the betrayal of allies like israel. so in what one hopes would be more than mere symbolism, the president did finally have a meeting with inge coming senate majority leader mitch mcconnell, although it had been so long since he had met with a republican senator, he had to google gop senators to find out who mcconnell was and how to contact him. i want to tell you something, my team of crack investigative reporters here at the "huckabee" show were able to hack into computers and obtain actual footage. i need to warn you, some of the footage is graphic. you might not want to allow small children or debbie wasserman schultz to watch this. first, in this video, we hear
5:03 pm
the president explain to snaenar mcconnell that he had no intention of signing legislation sent to him by the republicans. >> yes, that was hiss message. there was a rather intense argument that then resulted in a vim outbreak. we have asked why the secret service would allow such activity. we were informed that they were hung over from a night in a columbian hotel. but in this exclusive video, senator mcconnell demonstrates his determination to get past the president's road blocks. >> know stand aside, worthy adversary. >> 'tis but a scratch. >> victory is mine! >> you know, you got to harved it to the president, even after being literally disarmed by the elections, yes, that was bad.
5:04 pm
he still maintained that he had not been weakened at all by the outcome. >> come on then. >> what? >> you are indeed brave, sir knight, but the fight is mine. >> look you stupid [ bleep ] you've got no arms left. >> yes i, have. >> look. it's just a flesh wound. >> stop that, chicken, chicken. >> yes, just a flesh wound. well as the president would say, let me be clear. see let me be clear? whether you call it a shellacking, a smackdown, a beat down on an old-fashioned butt kicking, the democrats two trick pones have finally been september to the glue factory. but here is a word of warning tonight, fellow republicans. he didn't win because you were brilliant and presented superior
5:05 pm
ideas. he won because at this point, even tasteless tabloids seen less disgusting than the rat meat that's been served up by the party of pelosi and harry "the scary" reid. let me encourage you republicans. don't gloat, you've been given the wheel, so drive responsibly, not like a 16-year-old drunk on daddy's liquor. by the way, one final piece of video, we did go to the headquarters of theelection, wh were teaming up. >> bring out today. bring out today. >> many conservative comments suggested that reasons shouldn't bother trying to appeal to hispanic voters because they
5:06 pm
just won't get their vote anyway. but the midterms showed otherwise. in texas for example, gop can datss for governor, senator and lieutenant governor, got half-political commentator ann colter. hey, ann, how are you? >> i have never been happier. >> i would hope so. did you enjoy my little monte python take there? every9ó: saturday. >> i couldn't have depicted anything better than what has happen -- he didn't understand that the democrats just didn't get beat in a squeaker, this was an overwhelming repudiation of his policies. >> yes, it was and everyone keeps saying i don't think mitch
5:07 pm
mcconnell is very smart about this, but i would like to warn the tea partiers there, but i do not expect it to be a complete repeal of obama care, they should second up a small piece, small piece, things that are so overwhelmingly popular with all of the groups you just mentioned -- when and if and probably when obama vetoes it. you're going to have to report what obama just vetoed. you say wait a minute, illegal aliens are getting health care tax credits?
5:08 pm
>> republicans have to move really fast because the trick with repealing kbaum care is, it's like taking out a post on a porch. you have to be right there to put the next post under it. you can't just repeal it, so it has to be done delicately, perfectly. cane had a fantastic plan, romney had a fantastic plan. go to heritage's website, republicans have repeatedly said what their plan is, it's a little something i like to call the free market. >> let's talk about the hispanic votes. it's a deft shocker to all of us, especially to states like texas on the border. if you took a shot at immigration laws, you would be dead in water. the strongest candidate on that issue got is the highest vote,
5:09 pm
higher than george bush got. >> a few weeks ago you said don't suck up to the latino voters. what did you mean by is that? >> i meant don't suck up on things like amnesty. u you have this beautiful illustration in this one campaign, a wonderful new republican senator, cory gardner, had just said in a debate, i really don't want to attack the -- he was attacking udall for not pushing amnesty hard enough. then after i said, this isn't going to work, this is so stupid, i'm sure it was in the works, it wasn't because i said this, then he came out with what exactly republicans should be doing. and that is as romney said, we will appeal to hispanics the way we appeal to everyone. saying we're the party that offers opportunity and freedom from regulation and we don't pass stupid bills like obama
5:10 pm
care that pay for abortions. the next ad he ran, an hispanic slur reagan values. that totally worked. and by the way, that's what reagan did with the black vote too. maybe we'll get your vote and maybe we won't. but it's the democratic party that plays, we'll give you affirmative action, we'll give you amnesty, we'll give you a special separate group. we say this is what we stand for, we think you'll like it, and when dan patrick did it -- one other thing on patrick, you're right, he's been incredibly strong on defense and everything else. this idea that recent hispanic immigrants want a huge wave of illegal immigrants want to compete for the same jobs that drive their wages down. democrats are trying to get the republicans to fall for this so that democrats get more voters. but i note, when obama was appealing for the hispanic vote, he didn't talk about amnesty in
5:11 pm
his ads, he was talking about obama care. >> the president said, a lot of people ---i think it's a good to the r -- the ones that did, voted in a way that america can be proud of and maybe we can govern with. america proud and we'll so you again soon. >> we'll see you. >> a member of the media came up to me and said the republican party howlshould not be the parf no, but the party of go. but the republican wave has swept across the country and knocked democrats on their rear ends, gas gasping for air this week, but now that the republicans have control over both houses of congress, what are they going to do now? james lankford will be with us right after this. helps you be ready anytime the moment is right.

>> now the republicans have control of the sxaent how quickly will they get the ball rolling. oklahoma oklahoma congressman and senate elect -- with 68% of the vote on tuesday. i would say that's pretty significant. i have spoke to him earlier, here's that conversation. congressman, you had quite the victory in oklahoma, becoming the next united states senator from there. how surprised are you request that these races in a lot of the key states, they weren't even close, they were blowouts. >> even if to the republicans win, it's hard to ignore the wave when the margins got so low in to many states.
5:15 pm
colorado they thought which iz to be a very close race. multiple races turned really rapidly as the country all decided they would look at the polls and say this is the dir t direction we want the country to go. >> when the president had his news conference, i got the impression that he really didn't fully understand what was happening. what was your impression of listeninging to president obama in the post mortem of the election. >> he's not going to listen to the 1/3 of the voters who voted, he wanted to listening to the 2/3 of the people that didn't vote. he said i'm going to listen to the people that i'm going to pretend would have supported me if they showed up to vote. i'm just going to pay attention to them. i'm going dock what to the election sixsix -- our job is sl the same, we're still going to
5:16 pm
letting slate, we're going to bring pieces of election, his job is to be the president. >> republicans have the house and the senate, i think a lot of people are wondering, will there be an aggressive legislative agenda that's going to be put forth. this is a classic, the dog has chased the car, now you've caught it, what do you do with it? >> right, well i can tell you wrote i would like to start. we're 387 bills that i was part of in the house of representatives passing sending over to the senate that the senate has never even debated. those are environmental issues, those are obama care issues, those are all sorts of freedom issues, those are business issues and tax issues. many of them had democratic support as well. we passed them in the house, the senate never even-let's get those passed, we already know the house can pass them and let's start stacking things up on the president's desk. he would have to explain to the american people why so many people in the country want it
5:17 pm
and why he's going to veto it. >> i'm not hearing you say that this is going to be one little bill and dribble out another one, but you're going to put a lot of stuff in front of the president and say make a choice, show some leadership. >> the house and the senate has the responsibility to write the law, he has the final decision, that's the way the constitution writes it. we put a lot of great bills on his desk. keystone pipeline and several others. many american people don't know why this has not been done. one of the reasons is that harry reid won't even allow a vote on it. let's get them passed, let's start stacking them up on to the president's desk. the american people said no, we welfare system. finally got that done. now when he goes out on the stump, he brags about the changes on it. well, let's do the same thing as well. >> big news coming out of friday, supreme court says they're going take up this case
5:18 pm
of obama care subsidies, congressman, that would pretty well just gut obama care if the subsidies were taken away. >> it actually would. >> let's walk through why that becomes such an incredibly big issue. it may mean that congress doesn't have to deal with the repeal of obama care, it would repeal itself by virtue of a court order. >> because it would collapse on itself which is what many of us have said. it was built in such a way that it can't be contained. all said we do not want to take the obama care requirements that are coming down. we don't want these requirements. when we rejected it. the federal government had oversight of that. what we said was, no, we're not going to take that, it's going to be a state run exchange program. the way the law is written in the clear writing of the law, you can't do that. the federal government can't do penalties and subsidies when there's a federal exchange, only a state exchange. that may be really technical,
5:19 pm
but if you're going to follow a poorly written bad policy law, then's the way the law is set up. our state, 32 other states don't have to be under the obama care penalty and subsidy. the complexity of it is, though, the supreme court has to decide one simple thing, does the law say what the law says or does the law say what the president wants it to say? we say the law says what the law says. the president can't say i don't like the way the law's written, so i'm just going to change it to what i want it to be. >> a lot of people are saying this election is going to make it easier for republicans in 2016. but if republicans don't do something with the power they have just been handed, that is not going to make it easier. love to get your thoughts. >> the issue is, people didn't just not like democrats and so they put it in republicans.
5:20 pm
millions of people around the country said this is a better set of ideas. we want local choice, we want state control of these issues. we don't want the federal government in every part of our life, question don't want the federal government reaching into the families and our businesses. set the boundaries and walk away and let's take some families and churches take the lead in each community. that's a better set of ideas. and for republicans, our responsibility now is to pass pieces of legislation, set it on the president's desk and begin to implement that philosopfillp that millions of people agree with. the problems in the nation aren't coming out of washington, d.c. the -- let's turning back out the authority back to the state and the local leadership, families and churches, and let's see where the nation goes, i think she takes off is where it goes. so very important days for us in the weeks ahead. >> i hope you get some rest, you've had a long election season, you deserve a little bit of time off.
5:21 pm
>> i don't know if we'll get it, we have a little bit of work to do. >> delighted to have senator dan lank for lankford on our show. are southern democrats becoming exinstinct? i'll asking -- huh, fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance. everybody knows that. well, did you know genies can be really literal?

result, for the first time in 141 years in my home state, it will be nothing but republican representation in washington. oh, my, but i love to have been there when that wasfsqqñ going . in what has become a sign of things to come. former democratic senator lost her seat to john boseman in the 2014 elections, i talk to blanch and i asked her why democratic stronghold in the south has now shifted so dasically. it's been a tough week for the democrats. senator, is there a place for democrats in the south and midwest anymore? oh, yeah, this is a cyclical thing and we see our country go through it all the time over to the past 200 years. but what has to happen, i think is really the democrats have to understand that moderates do matter, i think both sides have to understand that, the
5:26 pm
democrats and the republicans, the democrats need to know that the moderates and middle america, rural areas are critical to everybody's parties. and you just can't depend on new england, chicago, and california, you know, that's a great in a presidential, but in terms of congress, it just -- it doesn't work, and so you've got the really be focused on, i think consensus and moderation in many things. >> you know, when you were a senator and you and i worked together on a lot of things during my tenure as governor and you were in the senate. we had a great relationship. didn't always agree on everything, but you were nowhere near like a lot of the national democrats who really were far left of center for our arkansas people. is it hard to be what has been called a blue dog democrat anymore? is that tough? is that becoming an endangered species among the democratic party? >> what about endangere eed
5:27 pm
exinstinct. we lost our last blue dog democrat. i had great republicans in the senate that worked with that house. but® that's really where the american people are, and the problem is, when you get to the extreme, unfortunately, it doesn't work. because, i mean, it just becomes extreme. and that's not really the where the american public is, i think they're looking for results, and results come from consensus. you know, i worked so hard with my republican colleagues to find consensus and had a great rapport with them. when president bush was in the white house, there was a group of moderate democrats working on education, we were a natural to fit in with the moderate republicans that were working on no child left behind. and coming together to find, you know, that common ground where we were. >> it seems like that the
5:28 pm
president has just not reached out to say, come over, let's sit down and talk, and not just with republicans, senator, i don't hear a lot of democrats say, oh, we have a great relationship with the president, he calls us over, we just chat, we build a relationship. how much of that has hurt the ability of washington to function? >> well, i think is that's been hurting the ability to washington to function for a while. and that mandate of forcing an administration to work with congress was also a part of the last administration. the problem is, you know, you're right, i mean the president has to reach out. he's got to reach out to congress now, and he should. to help fund that consensus, it doesn't need to come to executive orders and obviously, my hope and prayers are that mitch and john boehner will also come up with some good ideas where they can start and try to find consensus on things like immigration. that's where you can really
5:29 pm
start to look at -- i mean the senate passed the bipartisan immigration bill. so there are people out there that want to find the consensus where we agree, where we can take the steps forward, and the great thing about that is when you build consensus, and you find the place where you are together, it builds respect and when you built respect for one another on different sides of the aisle, then they're able to do a lot more together. the president's got to reach out there, there's no doubt. it's a function of what happened in these elections and the republicans have gained the majority on both sides of the capitol, now they have got to be able to govern and to lead. >> senator, great the have you here, thank you for joining us. as we get ready to honor our veterans on veterans day next week. hero to hero helps veterans to

strike in iraqi prove vince. iraq does not have a viable air force. two americans released after being imprisoned in north korea enjoy their first full day of freedom. kenneth and matthew arrived in washington state last night. they made the trip home with director of intelligence james clapper. clapper said he went to north korea to ensure the release of the two men. the heroes for saving my life and my kids life. >> on the day you were thinking of suicide, heroes to heroes called, you ended up in israel and getting baptized in the jordan river? >> yes, sir, yes, sir. it was -- thank you, thank you
5:34 pm
it was amazing. >> that was sergeant harrison on our show last november. he was talking about how the program heroes to heroes changed his life. it's a program that allows u.s. veterans to travel to israel to experience the history and also to connect with israeli soldiers. in my most recent trip to israel back in september, i was able to join heroes to heroes on part of their journey. we had the honor to visit a hospital and spend time with wounded israeli fighters. there on the trip with me was eat former guest on the show, tech sergeant greg greta, a veterans of the marines in iraq and afghanistan. >> thank you very much for your service. a lot of people don't understand why we do it. we want you to know that we understand. freedom is important and thank you for what you have done. take care and get well soon, okay? >> thank you.
5:35 pm
>> god bless. >> joining me now is greg cruz and the founder of heroes to heroes judy shaffer. when we were in that hospital visiting with those ear r heroes, it was very emotional for me. but i saw you guys, i saw tears, i saw deep emotion, both from your part and from your israeli counterparts. tell me about that visit when you first walked in there and you saw one of those israeli soldiers laying in a hospital bed. >> it just brought back so many memories of the people that got hurt or were wounded and to initially find out that they didn't have any type of combat award that we have. and i struck me, i got with judy and said we need to do something.
5:36 pm
most of us have the same issue u we have separation an anxiety, we miss the guys we were with, and we misthe troops we were with. and to be able to share with those guys, especially the grunts on the ground, the trigger pullers, us trigger pullers care about each other, and we're fighting the same enemy, the same goals, the same freedoms, everything's in jeopardy. and we wanted them to flow that we believe in them. >> one thing that became apparent, i overheard a conversation that you guys were having with the israeli idf forces. the people you were fighting in iraq and afghanistan, radical jihadists, that's exactly who the israelis have been fighting. did that bring a unique kind of bond, the fact that there was a common enemy you were working? >> absolutely. same game, different stadium. we showed up to play, they did as well. it's nice to see them, the way they lit up when they realized somebody really cares what we're doing. they hear the same information that we hear, but when somebody's right in front of you
5:37 pm
saying, we care, we're here, it was important. >> you plengsed that you wanted them to have something like you guys get, you get a purple heart if you get wounded in battle, and the israelis don't have a purple heart per se or something like it. you took them the equivalent of a purple heart with you, didn't you. >> we put the purple heart and the heroes to heros logo on the other. >> i could sense on the part of the israeli soldiers and i'm struck by how young these guys were. i mean these were kids, they were yinger than -- they're almost young enough to be a grandchild of mine. we were struck by their youth, but i was also struck by how deeply touched they were by the gesture that you presented them something tangible to hang on to and i can tell it was something very, very special to them. >> it's like us in the military, we like the bells and whirsales and all that shingy stuff, so it
5:38 pm
transcends from one to the other. i wanted to give them that little token you can carry around with you and say we're important to someone. >> you probably feel as i do, it's so very powerful. tell me how these trips have impacted the veterans that you have taken and how it's impacted you. >> wow. it's changed my life and it's changed so many lives. i have become so much more sensitive to everyone, to understanding that people matter and everyone matters. and everyone has a story and not everyone has a hero story, they have an everyday story. our soldiers, our veterans, you know, we wrestle with the word hero and heroes to heroes. and they're people doing their job. and they were sent by our government, they were sent by the israeli government to protect us. and one thing that is so, so
5:39 pm
striking to me, every time i speak to them is their love for their country. their love for all of us and how they want to protect -- they want to protect us. they want to do their job. and it's changed my whole view of the military, of the people who serve, understanding that these people want to serve. and when they stop serving, it hurts them so much. and when we put them aside and we drug them and put them in their homes and kind of tell them they're not useful to us, that's the most hurtful thing we can do because they were born to serve, they were raised to serve. >> that's si ee's such a powerf. thank you for coming. all the best. so many americans know little of our military, they know little of how they have wong and kept our freedoms. i helped create a series of animated dvds for kids called learn our history. if you have kids or grand kids, i'll send you the dvd about our

12k3w4r50e6sh8gs. the pledge of allegiance is again under attack. the aberdeen regional school district is trying to get the word under god out of the pledge. one -- samantha jones and emily heartily who's with the beckett fund for religious lib ber who's defending s ining samantha and pledge. great do have you here. samantha, i'm so proud of you, the fact that you're a high school senior and you didn't just roll over when the school was threatened with legal action. you said hay, the pledge means something to me. >> this is about protecting our freedom as americans.
5:44 pm
i'm honored to be doing this for the fund for religious freedom. one nation under god sums up the history and values that have made our country great. because it does acknowledge that our rights do not come from the government, but from a higher power so they can't take it away. >> did you ever think that saying the pledge of allegiance was going to get you in traubl and -- having some group come in and say you've got to shut her down. >> at first, yes. i was kind of appalled because while anybody want to tyake thi away from us. i feel i'm being silenced because i want to take the worth god out of the pledge. >> why don't you just say i pledge allege negligence to the flag. why is that important to you. >> america is a diverse country.
5:45 pm
a lot of different people with a lot of different beliefs call this country home so. i believe all beliefs are protected by the right including atheists. so they can't take away to the basic human rights. >> i wish people in congress were as smart as you were about understanding where our rights come from. i really do, samantha, because i am convinced that there are a lot of americans who are way past high school and they don't get what you get. so emily, can this group make a case that would actually take the phrase under god out. >> they have an unending losing streak up to this point. we won them over and over and over again we have beat them in court. and we're hopeful this is the at least time and the courts have all agreed with the beckett fund, that saying under god, this is not theology, this is a political philosophy that our rights don't come from the government, but from a higher power so the government can't take those wrights away.
5:46 pm
>> the declaration of independence says we are endowed with certain inalienable rights given to us by our creators, it's evident that to the founding fathers believed that. where does this go legally? what's the process from here? >> next week we go to court and we try to get it dismissed. they have lost every time, so we're confident that we'll win this case again. >> a lot of money has been spent, is there any way you could ever sue them to get the legal funds back. >> they are going around the country trying to get under god out of all sorts of things and they're trying to silence people. and the bottom line is they have the right to be silent, but they don't have right to silence everybody else. >> in cases like this t loser would have to pay the legal expenses for the losing party, because i have a feeling it would shut down a lot of this

nonsense. samantha, what is your long-term goals? i'm hoping you will say i'm going to run for office and take over the whole country. >> i'm honored to be do this and i pray that the court will decide what's right. >> what kind of reaction have you had from fellow stufbts and from other people around the country? >> so far i have only gotten encourageme encouragement. my teachers have been so enkurjsing. >> a real lesson in strengthship and u you are a wonderful example of an outstanding young citizen, samantha, god bless you and thank you so much for your courage. great having you here, a real pleasure. kimberly, ithank you, you bette win. coming up, how bluegrass
