results, more americans than not, 33% to 19, see themselves being better off in the future than worse off. okay, so typically, charlie, i think lame-duck congresses are pretty lame historically. they only did it so people could get on horse and buggies to come back. typically when you lose you're escorted out next day. we have these lame-duck congress. i think it will be pretty lame, do you agree. >> lore rhett is a lynch may become the next attorney general in next couple weeks -- loretta lynch. i say this, one democrat that matters, that is president obama. does president obama want to compromise on couple of things on obamacare? get rid of the medical device tax? i don't think so. by the way it would be very good for the economy. is ready to compromise on dodd-frank? just a couple things would make it very good for the economist. i don't think so. so i think what this is setting us up for a lost of talking about compromise and hanging out together and kumbayah but the next two years are going to be a brawl. i just don't see, i don't see,

next couple of weeks. i don't think we'll see it just yet. when the president starts to unleash amnesty for illegal aliens, essentially what it is, it will be amnesty, he wants to pick a fight. that is when the rubber meets the road on battle royal. >> immigration and nominees harry reid is tasked with pushing through in the lame-duck session. >> there are 367 pieces of legislation which have passed the house and can they get them to the senate and send them to the president's desk? they have been sitting there with control of the senate. so it will be interesting to see. what we laid out here i think what the stakes are for each of the stakeholders. good negotiator. the most important democrat, the most important american in terms of this point in this process. can the president and legally, can the president be a food negotiator and bring both sides together? what is his end goal? you named some of the end goals politically but what is is? >> i don't know president obama. people know him personally, he is brilliant man, very smart,

engaging even to republicans. is a guy you want to hang out with when you see him one-on-one. there is something in his dna he is so much more like saul alinsky, great radical community organizer from chicago than he is like bill clinton. bill clinton would compromise on every issue i told you about. this is what would happen. the economy would break out of 3% growth mode. probably go up to four or five. have more jobs and hillary clinton would be elected but i don't believe it is his dna to pull a bill clinton. >> let me bring in sandra here. you saw the poll numbers. why are people so optimistic? because they trust republicans handling the economy? why are people feeling so much better? >> their prayers were answered. they do not like what is going on in washington. led many people to have a very pessimistic outlook not only what is happening in the country

and rachel, looking forward, they don't feel like their children will have a better future. just change in general has led to a lot more optimism postelection. >> our husband, a congressman, heading back to work, what are thinks thoughts on the gop wins? >> he is also looking at this lame-duck session what the tone is going to be. is he actually going to do this amnesty move. i think that there is hope that maybe these democrats feel the pressure. the ones that were, that were elected, to, are they going to just cede all their power over to the president and just let him lead their agenda? or are they going to start to compromise a little bit? not that likely but possible. >> there is an item they may be able to get some support on from democrats and republicans. that is the keystone pipeline and it could cause a little bit of tension though for some democrats in this lame-duck session. senate democrats potential plan to bring in controversial pipeline to a vote before the end of the year, all of sudden harry reid likes it now. those measures have failed in

democratic congress before. but now the move could help boost democratic senator mary landrieu's chances in next month's runoff against republican bill cassidy. she said repeatedly she supports the pipeline and vowed to bring it to a vote. cassidy blasting senate majority leader harry reid saying he could have brought it to the floor multiple times. >> only job he is interested in protect something senator mary landrieu's. he could have brought this months up ago. it is cynicism. it is what people doot like about washington. they care more about returning their colleagues, senator landrieu to the senate than they do about those 40,000 jobs with woe have better wages, better benefits. >> he is absolutely right, rachel. harry reid could have brought this pipeline, create ad number of jobs but didn't do it. now when mary landrieu is in trouble, he figures i will try to bring it to the floor. >> it's a hail mary pass for sure. i don't think it will work. i talked to people in louisiana, friends of mind.

it is not bacon she didn't bring home for energy. really energy she expended on supporting the rest of the obama agenda, health care and everything else. especially some of the regulations on energy. those things are not going to get changed by this vote. by the way, even if they brought this up to vote, it will not pass the senate. even if it did pass the senate, it will get vetoed by the president. in the end what do we have no change, no new jobs for louisiana. it's a lame move. >> vetoes the pipeline, i mean that will, i think severely hurt him. this will pass. it will get through with republican support. >> there is not a lot of expectations out there that the president will be okay with this. listen, let me remind everybody, she is chairwoman of the senate energy committee. the republicans have been asking for this vote to come to the floor dozens of times, more than dozens of types. so the timing is all political here. so don't forget that while she, and democrats and harry reid now we'll vote on this because it's a good political strategy, they still need the cooperation of
