were even more police officers standing guard. one protester burned an american flag, two others were arrested and charged by a ferguson officer. two police are now under the microscope and now investigates. state of what aharrigan is live ferguson. >> the 28-year-old former police officer is now out of a job. he said his resignation was the toughest decision he ever had to make in his life, but he had to do it four security officerser for himself, for -- officials say the veteran will not be getting any pension. it's not clear whether he'll be able to maintain his privacy after all these events and for now his wife remains a ferguson police officer. >> and the latest on the ground there, what are you

experiencing? >> reporter: we have really seen a dropoff in numbers here in ferguson since the violence up monday. just about 200 protesters were out last night, they did burn an american flag, but the violence was nonexistent. about two arrests last night. but we have seen protests across the country, a number of arrests when protesters there nationaled traffic, heavy protests also in portland, oregon, but here now everything is getting back to normal and a real decision for business owners here who have seen their stores looted for burned to the ground. will they stay and try and rebuild or will they move on? >>. well, amid to the dimension stragss in portland, a touching moment between a demonstrate for and a police officer. 12-year-old avonte hart attended a protest in ferguson, missouri last week, he was seen with

tears in his eyes holding a sign that said free hugs. and when police officer bret ba barnham. >> when you undress this and take this off and we put our jeans and our t-shirts on, we are just like everybody else, we can be humans and we are good humans every day when wire doing our job. >> a freelance photographer captured their embrace and he said when he took the picture, he knew he watched to share it with the world and he is doing just that, it is now going sk r viral. congress back in session after thanksgiving break. and they have plenty of leftovers on their plate, nearly two years of unfinished business. but this upcoming lame duck session will be a short one, keep the government open as well

as funding requests for fighting isis and ebola. peter, where are we with this little and with the funding? >> reporter: heather, the bill that will be worth more than $1 trillion might not be done until next week, because house and senate leaders are -- not to drag this out and not to shut down the government, because it could cast a shadow on the to-do list for the newly minted republican senate in january. >> i don't think it good for the congress, good for the republican party or for the people to be bogged down in an endingle endi endless budget debate. i want us to have a clean slate so we can lay out our agenda and budget for next year. but for it to happen now when it's under possible threat of a government shut youp. >> here's what else congress has to argue about before heading

home for the holidays, the 6$6. billion the white house wants to stop ebola, the $5 billion the white house says is needed for the fight against isis in iraq. heather? >> that is a lot of money when you talk about it like that. so is congress going to give the president the money that he wants? >> we don't have to wait along to find out. but with the request for isis funding, the president also has to act for a renewed authorize to use force against isis. and at least one newly minted senator in congress says that the senate needs to be briefed more and more involved in the process. >> i think we need to come together and show strength in the country. we have to be a key player in that process. >> and senator peters also says that he thinks voters also sent

a message from the midterms that it's time for both parties to work together. >> peter do >>. another story we're following, warplanes carrying out at least 30 air strikes against the terrorists, most of the attacks focusing on isis's de facto capital city in northeast syria. and on the ground comes some positive signs that the air strikes might be having an impact, particularly in kobani, that is where the tied could be turning. >> reporter: heather, kurdish fighters -- most of kobani lays in ruins. rocket and mortar fire have left the syrians in a state of

rubble. what is clear is that isis has so far failed to win the battle there, and is under increasing pressure around the region. hundreds of u.s. and coalition air strikes have helped drive the isis militants back in both iraq and syria. still isis scrolls a huge amount of territory and is far from defeated. this weekend, kurtdish fighters say isis insurgents even launched a suicide attack from neighboring turkey. turkey has long viewed the pro american curds. >> and from isis to the call ban, we're learning some new information about a deadly taliban attack on a compound housing four aid workers in

afghanistan. officials now say three south f africans were killed when gunmen and bombers stormed the home. six others were taken hostage but were eventually rescued. kabul's police chief resigned after the attack was over. this is just the latest in a growing number of attacks inside kabul and is raising concerns over whether afghan force also -- right now, family and friends of missing ohio state football player are coping with a tragic ending. police say the boston of costa ca -- days after the college student disappeared. what we are learning about his death. plus a mother reuniting with her son, police say he was finally found after being held captive for four years. the charges that the suspects are now facing.

welcome back to the fx report. police now confirming that they have found the body of missing ohio state football player costa carrigeorge. the student had not been seen since tuesday. >> i understand that the 22-year-old's body was discovered actually right around the corner from his apartment? >> that's right, heather, tragically, a four-day search came to an end just a few hours ago at about 2:35 p.m. central time. police discover eed costa's bod inside a dumpster after a woman found that body. the body was discovered on the ohio state campus just a few blocks away from costa's apartment. police confirmed his identity

through tattoos on the body, investigators6 -- a handgun was found inside the dumpster with him. it was unknown if the gun was registered to him. his roommates say he went to go take a walk, he is reportedly dressed in all black, he edid not take his motorcycle, wallet or id and his parents ended up filing a police report when he didn't show up for a police report. and a record 108,000 fans went silent as a missing person's flyer lit that scoreboard. the however expressing the community's hope that he would come home and the football teams played with a heavy heart and they dedicated yesterday's game to him. >> his mother had mentioned his

you are watching the fox report. an american couple trapped in qatar, unable to return home to the u.s. matthew and grace wong were accused of starving their adopted daughter to death and they were abaned from leaving qatar during the case. today an appeals court cleared them from any wrong doing. but officials confiscated their passport not allowing them to return home. dominic, what has happened in the past few hours? >> reporter: well, the wongs have now had to leave the airport and return to the city, the cap tool dohar, they had been waiting for qatari officials to work it out as they stood on the floor. here's what matt wong told

state football cost ta karageorge. >> investigators at jfk airport said they found nothing -- authorities pulling more than 250 people off of a flight after it came in from barcelona, the source of the call now under investigation. a new survey from the national retail federation shows the number of people shopping this black friday week was down more than 5% from last customers blame early discounting as well as an improving economy so spending is expected to fall by 11%. the other big story, the mayor of ferguson, missouri says former police officer darren wilson will not receive a pension and that the city has cut all ties with him.

wilson officially resigned yesterday saying his continued presence on the ferguson police force would put other officers in danger. but that decision not putting an end to the protests or the debates. >> reporter: former ferguson missouri police officer darren wilson said he wanted to continue in police work, but even though a grand jury did not return an indictment against him in the shooting death of michael brown, wilson's attorney says wilson felt he had to leave for the safety of his fellow officers. >> we have gotten information yesterday directly from the chief in ferguson, that they had some information that suggested they were going to be acts taken against either members of the department or the department itself related to his continued employment. hi simply said that's enough, and it was time to resign so he submitted an oral resignation followed by a written resignation letter shortly thereafter.

>> reporter: still there were about 100 protesters outside of police headquarters in ferguson last night. wilson should not be the only one to resign. >> i do think it was impossible for him to return to the force. but i think there are many more resignations that need to happen in order for this community to begin healing. >> and what kind of resignations? who do you think should resign? >> i think the ferguson police chief, i think it's impossible for him to move forward while still in that role. >> reporter: the justice department still has a couple of investigations open into brown's death. healther? >> molly, thank you. and this just in, president obama will meet with members of his cabinet tomorrow to discuss the actions the administration is taking. and the fox news political insiders are here to talk about that and more.

pat goodell is a former pollster for jimmy carter. and brad blakeman, former dep by assistant to george w. bush. thank you all for joining us. i feel lonely. i'm in here by myself. you guys are normally in here. so first of all, we're going to tackle ferguson. and lack of leadership or what you think that leaders, political leaders should be doing, you just heard the news that just came in as the president will meet with his cabinet tomorrow regarding this, pat, i'll start with you. >> well, i think that, you know, i'm glad he's -- i think it's a little late. the president has, really, nelgted what many of us hoped he would do when he was elected president. being the first african-american or first half black, half white president that we have had,

which is really to help the bring the community together in race. and when i watch professor charles ogletree and ben carson agreeing that he has done more to divide america than it was the day he was elected, that was telling. >> we have some additional information that's just coming in, following the cabinet meeting, apanelparently the president will immediate with young civil rights leaders and the mistrust between law enforcement and communal commu colors. doug, what do you think about the president doing that tomorrow? >> like pat, i'm pleased he's doing it. certainly there is mistrust of law enforcement, there's a disproportionate amount as the president said in the -- what is missing here are efforts at reconciliation and the larger issue of poverty in america and

helping those with stagnant wages, particularly african-americans and hispanics who are disproportionately impacted develop an agenda so that people are able to break the cycle of crime and poverty and violence that afflicts our nation. and candidly, i think what's been missing on all sides is any efforts to talk about the real large scale issues we face as a society that go well beyond issues of racial sensitivity which are important in and of themselves, rest assured. >> and brad, your thoughts? >> i think doug is riling, i think that the court issue facing minorities communities today is the fact that they feel they have been left out, especially by a president they put such hope in. americans a making a civil rights issue out of ferguson is misplaced because there's not one scintilla of

and they will -- that will no doubt be a challenge as some republicans suggest threatening a government shutdown to block funding on president obama's immigration plan. the fox news political insiders are back, pad goodell, doug schoene and brad blakeman. do you think republican also go through with that? >> i don't think they will, heather, i think they learned their lesson last time that the government shut down is that all that happens is it turns people against them. that being said, i think we know how heart felt and strong passions are inside the republican caucus in both the senate and the house against the immigration plan. what i think we're likely to get the more dysfunction, more gridlock and nothing really getting done. >> and brad we do know, they have plans right now they have already announced to talk about

immigration, tuesday the house announced judiciary committee, they are holding what they call the president's power grab and the very next day, the house homeland security -- what do you expect to come out of that and what do you think it will do in relation to plans of the budget? >> i think everything right now republicans are thinking about is getting us through the end of the year, the american people are going to know who's naughty and nice, republicans need to be strategic, they need to play chess instead of russian roulette like they did last year. if they do it, getting a spending bill that puts the president on a short leash, we have a new republican senate on january 1, give them a new chance to work together in good faith and if they do that, the year will be very good for republicans and democrats.

if they start playing shenanigans, it will not be good for either party. >> so you're talking about pr short-term versus a long term one. >> the question is, they got to get through the end of the year, and i agree with my colleagues being strategic, they will just flat out surrender, which is what they have done in the past, except when ted cruz led them off the cliff. the problem is the president is breaking the law, and now we find out there are going to be social and medicare for illegal immigrants who have been granted the status of work which is against the actual statute of law, and the question is, whether the republicans are prepared to lay the ground work between now and, say, february, to take the president on on an issue in which the president is on the wrong side of public opinion. so far, with what the republicans have shown on this issue, on foreign policy and everything is that nothing is

going to work. and to brad's point, that's a -- you know, i agree with you, it's a nice christmas wish and santa claus is not going to bring comedy between these people. barack obama has bust it that already, he has already torn the country apart. that's all he did, whether it's ferguson, immigration or whatever, is to divide america and he has set his course. now the question is, can the republicans find smart backbone to turn the country in much of the democrats -- >> those are some strong words, but i want to go back to -- >> well, it's true. >> i want to go back to what you mentioned, what we did not know about the executive order he issued over the illegal immigrants, they could now receive social security, medicare as well. something that we did not know. and so a lot of people, it kind of rings like obama care, where little pieces start coming out, things that we did not know. and what do you think

republicans can do about that? is there anything that they can do? >> i think it's pretty clear, heather, what they ought to do is pass an immigration bill, send it to the president and say, stop the brinksmanship, let's pass a bill, let's get something done, let's bargain. >> you can't just not pass bills because you don't think the president will sign it. i worked with president clinton, we got deals done with newt gingrich and a republican congress. i really think republicans have to change their approach and really the democrats as well. we can't live we r to the o' -- >> both the house and the senate should look at incremental bills, carve up the immigration bills into taxation, pathway to citizenship, visas, health care, and that's what you need to do is farm out to the relevant

communities, let them have at it in hearings, give the president then five immigration bills and not one large bill that nobody reads, it will be jammed through. >> the piecemeal approach. >> the one thing that has to happen, and we will find out whether the republican leadership, republican the unholy alliance on immigration, the reason we never get immigration is because of the unions, the chamber of commerce want open borders. the real question s are the republican leadership, much of whom are indebted to the chamber of commerce, are they going to pass a spending bill lasting for the rest of the fiscal year, or are they going to do a short one, that's the first test on whether there's going to be a real battle or whether we're just going to have another lay down by the republicans. >> speaking of a battle. let's month on to obama care, leading democrat chuck schumer and what he had to say about it,

perhaps they had made a big mistake there, listen. >> democrats blew the opportunity the american people gave them. we took their mandate and put all of our focus on the wrong problem. health care reform. now the plight of uninsured americans and the hardships caused by unfair insurance company practices certainly needed to be addressed. but it wasn't the change we were hired to make. >> nancy ploes selosi came out response to that, she said there were 14 million reasons they did the right thing, i'm paraphrasing her quote, those numbers being 14 million people she says who now have health care coverage as a result. is there some signals that there are going to be some problems within the democratic party as we move forward towards 2016, doug? >> heather, absolutely, yes, chuck schumer has been down the line loyalist for the administration. he had criticized pat and i for

having the tam marty to attack the president. and basically he said politically that obama care attacks the wrong problem. he didn't speak about substance, he didn't speak about what ought to be done, he was talking narrow political tactics. chuck schumer is a consummate political insider. he would haven't done this if his colleagues were not moving away raptdly from the president given the very bad election results. so, health, this to me is a harbinger of what's to come and will probably lead to an every man, every woman to themselves approach. >> very interesting and something that perhaps happened to republicans in prior years. brad? >> let me tell you something, schumer is the gruber of the senate. he must think we're stupid. he was a leader that jammed through obama care, he knew or should have done that the basis or the foundation for obama care were lies. you couldn't keep your doctor, you weren't going to have any
